Alright, there are always some major arguements over which sport is the best, and everyone is entitled to their opinion, so that is what this topic is for. Post your sport, why you like it, and a reason why someone else might.
I'm a football fan, as many of you know.
I can honestly say I love the game, and that's what makes me that fan. When you step out under those Friday night lights...I can't think of any other feeling better.
Even at home, you hang out with friends and family, shouting curses at a black box, eating cocktail weenies and wearing your player's apparel.

"The way of war is a way of deception. When able, feign inability; when deploying troops, appear not to be. When near, appear far; when far, appear near. Lure with bait; strike with chaos. If the enemy is full, be prepared. If strong, avoid him. If he is angry, disconcert him. If he is weak, stir him to pride. If he is relaxed, harry him; if his men are harmonious, split them. Attack where he is unprepared; appear where you are unexpected. This is victory in warfare; it cannot be divulged in advance. Victory belongs to the side that scores most in the temple calculations before battle. Most spells victory; least spells defeat; none, surer defeat. Jak, do you mean real American football, or that soccer game some people actually play?
I'm a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan (American football). Rugby League... my favourite sport to watch and play. I even love training, sweating in the cool beach breeze under the spotlights. The game is better though. See the other team, fight against them, hit the ground, get up with grass stuck to you, do it all again. Awesome.

Rugby Union i'd have to say, I still prefer some complicated back moves to just trying to stay on your feet like league. That said, i still enjoy playing league.
If anyone's managed to watch the first three games of the Six Nations you'll see why this game is so awsome. The current international teams are amazingly fit, they train so hard now that even the big forwards are still going strong after eighty mins.
Still want to try playing american football, but i'm not a fan of padding. Putting in a spear tackle and crunching someone into the ground just can't be as satisfying. When i see "ten best tackles" in american football its just people bouncing into each other.
Plus the aussies are getting whooped in Union atm which makes it even better

Best game to watch = American Football
Sure rugby/Aussie football doesn't use pads. But they're also not having 6'3" 250lb middle linebackers drive their head into a receivers chest on a crossing route. Football is the contact sport. Big hits + hot cheerleaders + beer = the greatest sport in world
(P.S GO HAWKS)
My favorite game of all time = baseball
Now I completely understand why a lot of people snub their nose at baseball. It IS boring to watch for the average person. But for those of us who have played the game for years and gotten their game through high school and up to the collegiate level (I was a walk on at my university, then dropped because of my major), we understand the game. It's a thinking man's game. There are so many subtleties and strategies that make the game complex and beautiful. I could go on for hours about how great baseball is...but I'll spare you all since I know I'm alone on this one. ----------------------- Iron Horse Squad

That's only because there are no 'middle linebackers' in rugby. We have forwards instead.
I used to watch American Football a bit, but I got bored of having as much commercial time in a game as play time.

Debatable over how much of "sport" it really is; Snowboarding. Nothing better than flying down a mountain at rediculous speeds, shooting up snow as you carve into the fluffy powder. Not only can you swerve through trees are just bomb runs, you can also mix it up with some nice air and trickage. Yup, snowboarding is it.
Skateboarding overpasses snowboarding, but that's not a sport. It's a lifestyle.
As for "real" sports...I guess soccer. I dunno, don't really play them, but I've always found playing soccer to be the most fun. ----------------------- ~ZaFo

I'd have to go with, Baseball too. I have always loved to go to the stadium, especially the Brewer's new stadium .
Also watching paintballing on satellite is awesome too. Just watching a whole lot of paint being thrown across a field, so when you watch you can actually see streams of balls fly by the screen. ----------------------- Staff Sergeant

Huh... mine would be two sports yet to be mentioned. First off and above everything else would unquestionably have to be soccer. Been playing it since i was 5 years old, and couldn't dream of stopping. I know alot of people call it boring because of the low scoring games, and little contact. But it is an unbelievably tough sport to be good at, having to have the vision to find your teamates, the awareness of where to put the ball, where your opponents are, and where the ball has to go, as well as the touch to get it there. As for the "physical" aspect, let me just say that I have been the deliverer, receiver, and observer of some bone crushing, tackles (and the odd shoulder now and then). When everything is working expecially at the highest professional levels, it is just a beautiful sport to watch, expecially in a pub with a bunch of your teams supporters (last years champions league finals is still one of the best days of my life.)
My second sport below soccer is basketball. Now that I'm on my high school team, I've found a greater passion and understanding to just how difficult, and how much strategy is in this game. ----------------------- Senior Seargent JR Iron Horse Squad

Although not really considered a sport, my schools sports medicine class was awesome. We got to attend a bunch of games, and we actually got to see some pretty interesting injuries. My favorite sport to watch would have to be Football. its just a wicked intense game and alot of fun to watch. My favorite game to play is a tie between football and baseball.
Been playin baseball since i was around 5, but then stopped during middle school, since there was no team to play on. I would play football, but sadly my school doesnt have a football team, so im SOL at the moment.
Not that my grades are good enough to play a sport anyways

btw dodgeball is an official sport I think.....had alot of fun with it in high school never was much of a thrower though but I was able to catch the ball diving, or with my legs, in high school we changed the rules a bit for quicker games.
1. when your out no coming back till next game.
2. if you catch the ball the thrower is out no teamates come back
3. headshots count
4. if anyone bleeds point and laugh ----------------------- He will give them death, and they will love him for it
