Well, I'm yet to get IRCto work for me on my cousin's computer, so I'm not sure if I'll be at the meeting today. Indeed- Tomas was very impressive and he's pretty much died out- something he promised me he wouldn't do.  Hunter?  I can't recall the last time we saw a decent amount of activity from him- the contest he and a few others engaged in on the weekends was good, and counted for the Navy side, but it might as well have been army.  We'll need to see some actual activity from him or talk about the boot.  Jen?  Exams, yes, perhaps- but when do those subside?  That would probably apply to most others around here.  And I realize Darius is a very, very busy person in general- perhaps we need to work something out.  Raigen?  I'm not sure there is much to go with there.  Do as you see fit, Trevor.

you can edit if you want. I'd like to make sure I give the actual briefing part, but you can always edit it so that you climb into the TIE in an '*** After the Briefing***' part, and just say that the briefing was about to get started before that part..heh, hopefully that's not confusing.

And about Jen. I'm fine with exams, school and life comes before the VE, but shehad told me she'd have some time during spring break and I'm yet to see a story post, or report, or any comnet activity aside from one or two posts on this topic. Perhaps my choice was made incorrectly about who I choose for XO. Oh well, we'll see.

Good post clown, but I'm going to request a change or two:

Well, only one really. That is that although I said you can go hard and be creative and all that, I was actually hoping for the battle to go 'as planned' for a little while. The guys in the bunker were having trouble getting into the system, remember? They won't be able to access the manual controls until the droids have been in flight for 10 minutes. Normally you'll be lucky if a small battle like this even lasts that long. So if you wanna have one of their fighters get taken out, that's fine with me too, but you also have to remember that these fighters have defeated a bunch of other squadrons as well. So I ask that we keep the destruction part out, and limit the fighters we 'kill' in the first couple of posts :P.

I guess I should give a briefing on the storyline here though, since I can't get to IRC for a meeting about it.

We're going to fight the droids, as planned for the first little while. After we get a bunch of them down and they take out a few of us (any volenteers to become grounded? You'll still have a job, don't worry . Actually, Darius...If you're going to be around, would you mind helping with the ground based part? I think it'd work well with your first post.)

Once the battle goes for a while and both squadrons are down a flight, the bad guys in the Barracks will get control of the droids. Now they make the battle an all out thing, not stopping when they hit 40%, all that good stuff. These fighters are as smart as we are, but they are faster and more agile. We have a real fight on our hands.

This is when our ground group will come in to help us out. If Darius volenteers to be one of the first grounded, once things go wrong he'll take the other 3-4 Nazgul pilots on the ground and find a weapons bunker. From here they will come back with a bunch of ground to air weaponry and help us out. Maybe things get interesting and someone accidentaly shoots down a Nazgul pilot? Maybe the droids/remotes finish off Nazgul squadron by making us all have to crash land and then we have to stop them from destroying the compound? I dunno, I've got a basic storyline but i'm very open to any ideas.

So here are two questions for everybody:

Any volenteers to get taken out within the first little while? I only need 3-4 for this.

Any ideas for things that can happen after the fighters get taken over? Do we shoot down one of our own by accident? Do they beat us and then we destroy them?

Also remember that if you end up getting shot down later, you could be up to 25 KM from the landing field. That's a long way to run. Maybe you find your own weapons cache to rob?

It's up to you guys, but make sure you tell me what you plan to do first

Nah, but Nazgul working on the ground isn't nessicarily something completely new to the squadron. The stories from about a year and a half ago are the ones i mean of course..and Forman II..and..Interchangeable Unknown..and...you get the idea.

I'll volunteer to be ground...I kinda was anticipating this anyway.  It's Darius' expertise, as I've shown in my story post.  He's already loaded and ready to go, just not loaded enough for 3-4 other people.

Anyway, I'm back, not too active however.  Tomorrow...no...Monday...good luck with that one...Tuesday...maybe?...Wednesday...work, though not out of the question...Thursday...yes.

So we've 'killed' four of the droids and all four kills have been by Delia? That's actually a bit freakishly too good. Not to be picking on you Clown, but you've got to remember that one, we're not going to decimate this squadron, not till the end when we actually physically decimate them. Two, we're about evenly matched, and although I havn't read Delia's history (I really should do that soon..), I'm not sure any of one pilot in Nazgul could be responsible or partially responsible for at least four of the kills so far. If anyone, Trevor and Darius and Jen have the most experiance flying the Interceptors and would logically have the most refined skill in the group. The means they would most likely be scoring the most assists and kills overall. There is a difference between raw talent and what that raw talent can do once refined.

Three, you also have to account for the fact that the other pilots in Nazgul will probably be making a kill or two of their own. If the story is going to make it seem like the least bit of a challenge, we can't kill off half the enemies before they even get kickass on us.

Actually, now I'm going to move a bit more onto everyone. There is a reason I've been trying to include as much fighter combat as possible in these stories, as well as Character devlopement. It bugs me, quite a bit to be honest, when we've got people taking out amazing amounts of fighters. Pretty much, you should have one kill for every two-three combat posts, if your kill count would be even that high. Part of writing good combat is not about being able to describe a good explosion, but rather to immerse anyone reading the story into it. If you're going to describe a series of acrobatic moves, the easier it is for someone to picture these moves without having to know everything about flying, the better.

Once again Clown, I'm not trying to pick on you. You're new and I'm probably safe to assume that you're still not 100% sure of what is expected of you. You are good with reporting, and you are a fairly consistant poster. Sometimes the posts just begin to get out of hand kill wise. You've got a good character developing, and the background story is interesting. So is the seeming dislike for everyone else (so far anyways). I'm fine with that, but I'm going to maybe request that you hold off on achieving anymore kills during this story, alright? Well, for now, I might change my mind once we get to the part where the droids try to kill us. Until then, work on getting better at writing descriptive posts, make your manuevers detailed. If you can write a 1000 word post (2 pages in Microsoft word with a 12 point Times New Roman font) without getting a kill and making up most of that post out of dialog between flight members and detailing your actions, you'll be good.

Feel free to write any background chatter. We might be military pilots but that doesn't mean we won't end up having background talking during a battle. just like there is nothing wrong with us getting our boots a little dirty.

On the note of getting our boots dirty though, I'll be posting tonight and unless I get another two volenteers for ground duty, I might just have to force a few people down. Seeing as Hunter is going to be put in the reserves and Chak is still away, I might end up landing them and having them meet up with Darius. I hope you don't mind having to write about those two Darius.

Lets see, what else do I have to say? Well, aside from that I do realize this was a fairly long post ranting and raving about a few more kills than I originally figured would happen during the couple of combat posts.

Expect my story post to be one of those incredibly long ones as well. I'll try to work on it during slower moment in the RPG, and it'll be nice and long and hopefully be a good example of a decently long aerial post without a kill on an enemy.

Y'know, that's what I was about to suggest, that we use the inactive characters--which, at this point, is about 75-80% of the squadron right now--as part of Darius' ground team.

Or, we can wait 4-6 weeks when everyone other than you, Valin, Darius and, of course, I all decide to post....
