Finally got a post up.  Not my best work, but RL is crazed at the moment, so it'll have to do.

For the record, OOC: VENI is breaking the enemy codes, and will be using them throughout the battle to manipulate the outcome of individual skirmishes, and eventually, the battle.  Grey wanted a team on Defiance, using the ship's upgraded Communications Suite, so there they are, but I imagine it'll get more and more dicey for me as a SCAP if/when the Chief of Naval Warfare's orders (my CO) conflict with the Chief of Naval Intelligence's orders (the VENI operatives' CO) as the battle moves forward.  You know, because it wasn't complicated enough fighting off two enemy fleets. 

My poor NPC XO...

There's also a named Victory 1. Looking back on it, I may have made it an Imp 1. I'll go look back at it later to double check, but I named it in Italian due to a lack of any other name ideas.

No mutinies. If you can present me a plausible cause-and-effect scenario behind one, there's about a 5% chance I might okay it then. Otherwise its just too out there. Mutinies don't take place during pitched battles- the mutineers would be slitting their own throats by distracting the rest of the crew from the more dangerous enemy.

The two MC80a Starcruisers are the Coral City and the Reef City. I don't think any other NR ships have been named yet, though I may be wrong. Remember: Taskforce Aurek is engaging the IR forces. Taskforce Besh is engaging the NR forces. No crossing over. You'd have to get through both enemy fleets to get to your target and it makes no tactical sense to put our ships between two enemy forces that are shooting at each other anyway. That's just asking for casualties. Just wanted to clarify that and remind everyone to check your Taskforce's targets before choosing a ship to attack.

I sent a squadron of fighters and a squadron of bombers at the Victory 1 Vulpe Astuta from an NPCs point of view. Feel free to detail what damage they get done before being swarmed by IR fighters or take up another NPC in the squadron.

Of course, I have no idea what the NR would name their squadrons, so I just picked something nice.

You guys are awesome. Did you know that? Seriously. We're currently standing at over 30 posts on the story after only 20 days. You guys are rocking this thing and I couldn't be prouder. I'll be doing the usual posting statistics soon...but there's a bit too much to go through for me to do that and my homework (a great problem to have), so it may be Tuesday evening before that's posted.

The shinies on the horizon are starting to look pretty bright, even from a distance.

I also have a welcome announcement: Please welcome an old friend back to active duty: Rutian. Rutian will be replacing the NPC Lance Ongol as the Executive Officer of the Halcyon Warrior, giving her a more-or-less full complement of PC command staff.
