Sorry about my absence of late, everyone. As I noted in the AWOL topic, school has been crazier than anticipated, plus I've been starting a new job as well. I should have a post up sometime between now and this time Thursday evening. I do have three more Finals during that time period, so it's more likely to come toward the end of that range of time. I'll be catching up with recent events in the story and moving us along a bit, so look forward to that.

A quick long note on long range plans for 2nd Fleet: in the future there will be a third part to our current story arc. However, we're going to hold off on that for the time being, possibly until August. Once we wrap up A Page I'm setting aside a couple of months for small-unit missions. Each Taskforce will be running (or continuing) a mission or two, but I also expect and encourage squadron stories AND any small-unit action that our SCAPs want to get into. If you want to start a story after we're done with A Page, start developing your storyline now. Once you've got a rough draft and a couple of people to join you on it, bring it to both me and your Taskforce Commander. We'll go over the proposed mission with you, suggest changes and tweaks, and will very likely give the go-ahead for the independent mission. The ability for any SCAP or SC to start and run small missions is one of the hallmarks of the new Navy, so I'm really excited to see what you all come up with.

Awesome.  I have a couple scenarios I'd love to see unfold, but before I pick one or two to develop as story ideas, I'll probably need to graduate the SCTP, yeah?  So I'll know who my Task Force commander is, what my ship is, etc.?  Lemme know.

If you read my post thoroughly, I was conversing with your Task Force Commander, who was going to issue the orders to you, if you had orders which supersede the ones I issued then you will follow them. I merely issued a general course of action to move us closer to the station. I was under the impression your work with the DP-20 was already underway. That will be all,

Well, it's an hour past my self-imposed deadline of Thursday night, but I did indeed get the promised post up. It contains general orders there at the end, outlining what we need to get done in the next week or two as we wrap up the story. Yeah, you're in Besh, Tryk. Welcome to 2nd Fleet.

FOCE and SCFE are two different things. SCFE is new and specifically for qualifying as a Ship Captain if you weren't one of those given a ship at the introduction of Fleet Command. FOCE is to permanently qualify yourself as an officer (Ensign or higher).

To complete the FOCE you must come up with an idea for a change or program suitable to be put into use across the whole of the Navy. Then flesh it out with details and describe exactly how it would work, etc. Once you believe it's complete, you'll submit it to the NHC for grading (if I remember correctly. Might just be one of us.). If it's not quite there you'll have to get back to work editing the idea and try it again. If it's accepted you'll pass the FOCE and the program may be adopted for use. It's generally pretty flexiblein regard to content and how quickly it needs to be done, so take your time and do your best on it.

Welcome back, Blue. You got back right after we finished a 2nd Fleet mission, and we're moving into a period of small-unit missions, Certifications writing, and CD stories. Feel free to get with the people leading any current missions and see if you can jump in with them, or go ahead and hit some Certs or CD if that'll work better for you.
