So I was thinking, since so far the idea of Florida at Raigen's grandma's camp has stuck, if people are truely planning on coming to this, whenever it may be, people need to start giving where they live. If a charter buss or two can be sent along and people can get picked up at certain times along its route that solves some transportation problems.

Actually, that is just an idea...I have no clue if she will agree to that. This thing could be one...two years of planning and preparing for all we know. She could rent that out to some family or something. I like the idea of a camp site + outdoor activities. VE Camping Con...maybe...it is cheaper than a hotel.

Car pools are cheaper than charter buses.

Entertainment...I'm thinking a generator, tv's and four xbox's!

I see major issues with the Parental Consent. Other than that, I like the idea.

No No...cops do not need to know of our activities.

We can have some 501st troops come down as well...they do that stuff for free. I, will get me a force fx lightsaber and dress like my character.

Yes Costumes are nice. I'm putting gray striping on black slacks with combat boots. Then I'll wear a long black sleeve dress shirt with a white collared undershirt and a makeshift black vest. That simple. Then I'll just dye my hair and voila! I'll get me a blaster and have me a Raigen.

Parental consent, We have a lot of members under 18...We simply hook up a video camera, document the events and send those who could not attend a copy. We set up webcams and talk to those via an internet connection...ps...this could not happen if we are in the woods though.

Also...this is my idea...and I'm 16. Most of us will be eighteen by the time this comes around.

That would be a fun idea, not really a plausible one though. What about the people who don't live in the U.S.? It's fun and something I would enjoy going to (maybe not while I'm still so young : P) but it's all that realistic.

I am going to agree that this won't work. Parental consent isn't going to happen, that is assuming all the parents aren't raving lunatics. Next, I wouldn't want to fork over the cash to help setup something that I would be going to enjoy. Call me cheap, but I'm going to college which just so happens to be a rather expensive endeavor. So, you guys have fun with your 'flights of fancy.'

I'm going to have to agree with Sam (and Garet?) on this one, it isn't going to happen. I don't understand what all this "fuss" is about anyways with "conventions" and whatnot for us. If you wanna do something like that, go join the 501st or a similar group. Doing this is almost like forcing members to show themselves in a matter that is totally uncontrolled and near impossible. If members wanted to meet each other, they would make the arrangements needed! I mean it's great that you'd like to meet some of the people you're close to, but at least keep it to a controlled environment so you know who's coming and what you're doing (well, at least go for the first part). Not to mention a good portion of our members are of the 13-17 age bracket and would be bringing a parent along. But I think this convention idea is STUPID especially seeing a similar idea was shot down what? a few months ago?

other than business related, it will take a working, fully functional Tie-Interceptor on display.
If any member of the VE able to build that, then i'll go to the dang convention no matter what,. i'll sneak into a cargo boat if i have to.

of course the other hand, if any members that i know send me an invitation for their marriage, i'll go.
