For those of you praying that you survive this day because you believe in this foolishness let me offer you some reassurement.  The time to fear was in the year 666AD.  For those of you who are interested in history it might be interesting to see if any histories written in that year survive today.  Given that it was the early part of the dark ages in which histories were written that discussed troop movements, battles, and most importantly, searched for signs of God on earth, perhaps there are references to evil times during that year.  A cursed year perhaps.  This is of course assuming that the 666 idea existed then.  If it did then I would be curious since I am sure most in the Church would have believed it.

Personally I think it bs but to each their own.

The idea of 666 existed already by the year 666 I believe since Revelations was wrote a few years after Jesus' death. Christianity was recognised as a relegion by Constantyn in 313 AD, or rather he put an stop to them being hunted down, and in 325AD it became one Rome's official languages.

Of course the Bible didn't exist at that point except the scrollsand etc. So Constantyn had the Bible composed for them, the old Testament existed by then, but the new Testament were composed from the variety of books written. Ironic kinda that the new Testament were made by Non-believers, though the books them selves were written by Christians

So I would believe it existed by then, but all in all I think even though  the referances  originates from Revelations alot Myth and paranoia was born from it as well if even before.

Ya I understood what you said the first time Trix, my point is that if we study the historiography of 666-667 I was curious to see if this issue came up.  It probably doesn't but for those interested in historiography like me it might be a fascinating little study to do at some time.
