I've got a mix of favorites; some traditional, some not. Here's mine:
Traditional Songs:
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
The First Noel
What Child is This?
Redneck Songs:
Leroy the Redneck Reindeer
12 Days to a Redneck Christmas ----------------------- SC/WO1 Chipmunk Man/Aegis 1/Phoenix/mSSD Atrus/DEF/VEN/VE/(=A=)(=SA=)(=*MA*=)[LoC][MC:1]x3[LSM][VC:B]

Nearly all the Christmas songs make me sick. They play them to much on the radio, but there is one I like. It's called, "Rusty Chevrolet". ----------------------- Sergeant Slick

I still rather enjoy Chorus of the Bells. Of course it helps that I record anything I actually want to watch on the DVR and just skip past the commercials. ----------------------- My sig banner I wish I could use

Carol of the Bells is the pretty one (I used to play the handbells in Church when I was a kid, this one was always the most fun too)
Joy to the World is the classic
Hark the Herlad Angels Sing is the religious one

You have to actually live out in the country to appreciate country music, Songs like 'Hicktown' and 'Mud on the Tires' sum up the place I'm from perfectly, that said i can't stand the songs were they're whining about something (Like every single Jason Aldean song after Hicktown). ----------------------- {Comnet Hermit}

Okay, Lonestar, Rascal Flatts, and Keith Urban give country music a seriously bad name. Don't get me wrong, they've got the occasional good song, but they are not actually country music. Lone and Rascal are really more boy bands than anything else, and Urban is more pop. They're just mascarading as country and winning over the girl fans.
Real country music is something like Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, Tim McGraw, Joe Diffie or Brooks and Dunn. And Garth Brooks, too.
Snipes, don't forget "Boondocks" by Little Big Town. ----------------------- SC/WO1 Chipmunk Man/Aegis 1/Phoenix/mSSD Atrus/DEF/VEN/VE/(=A=)(=SA=)(=*MA*=)[LoC][MC:1]x3[LSM][VC:B]

Yes, it is a good song, and I also like "Skin," "Here's to You," and a few others. But they aren't actually country songs. They're a boy-band mascarading (spelling?) as country. ----------------------- SC/WO1 Chipmunk Man/Aegis 1/Phoenix/mSSD Atrus/DEF/VEN/VE/(=A=)(=SA=)(=*MA*=)[LoC][MC:1]x3[LSM][VC:B]

I agree with you chip, not only on the boy-band thing (even though I do admit, I like some of thier songs...) But on the redneck Chistmas songs.
Rusty Chevrolet
Leroy the Reneck Raindeer
12 Days of Redneck Christmas
and countless others
I have to agree with Snipes to. You really do have to live in the country to appreciate the true meaning of country music.

Trev, it's the 21st century. The ACLU has succeded in making religious expression a lose-your-job offense. You can't even wear a cross necklace anymore without getting sued. Of course Christmas doesn't have anything to do with Christ anymore. Which is sad and disgusting. Ok.....Rogueboy. If you would have listened to the whole song, you would have realized that song is about a snobby chick that wants things like a yacht, a diamond ring...ectera..not having sex with Santa..let's try to keep your mind out of the gutter, especially during the Christmas season.
And Snipes, I would like to see some evidence of what you said. Catholics did not steal Christmas from any other religious group. Let's not start bashing other people's religions. ----------------------- Jen Knight

The date was taken, yes. The Roman population was used to having a celebration on December 25, so when the Romans switched over, they barrowed the date. I don't know about any of the other traditions, though.
Historically, Christmas wasn't even the main Christian holiday. Easter was far more important. It's just that modern commercialism found Christmas gift-giving easier to exploit. I had ancestors from a branch of Scottish puritans who didn't celebrate Christmas at all as recently as 100 years ago. Today's modern holiday is so commercialized as to be nearly unrecognizable. ----------------------- SC/WO1 Chipmunk Man/Aegis 1/Phoenix/mSSD Atrus/DEF/VEN/VE/(=A=)(=SA=)(=*MA*=)[LoC][MC:1]x3[LSM][VC:B]

The date might have been taken, but the actual belief of Jesus' birth is universally Christian. That is true, Easter is more important. The rising of Christ from the dead and opening the gates of heaven is the Church's most celebrated holiday.
What I don't understand is that the stores and businesses exploit Christmas and make it highly commercialized, but then society comes back and tells us "Oh you can't say Merry Christmas!!! You might offend someone." It really doesn't make sense. I believe if you are Christian, say "Merry Christmas", and if you are Jewish say "Happy Hanukkah", etc. Don't be afraid to say what you believe in. ----------------------- Nazgul Squadron

Christmas you dolt
Neither Christmas nor Easter are even the most important chritstian holidays... Pentecost is, becuase it's the birth of Christianity as a religion, thus forever splitting them from Judaism.
I say Merry Christmas to my boss, and he's Jewish.
This was in an email I got, and is meant purely for humor, so please no one take it seriously.
A politically correct Christmas story!

RE: Holiday Party
I'm happy to inform you that the company Christmas Party will take place on December 23, starting at noon in the private function room at the Grill House. There will be a cash bar and plenty of drinks! We'll have a small band playing traditional carols...feel free to sing along. And don't be surprised if our CEO shows up dressed as Santa Claus! A Christmas tree will be lit at 1:00pm. Exchange of gifts among employees can be done at that time; however, no gift should be over $10.00 to make the giving of gifts easy for everyone's pockets. This gathering is only for employees! Our CEO will make a special announcement at that time!
Merry Christmas to you and your family.

RE: Holiday Party
In no way was yesterday's memo intended to exclude our Jewish employees.
We recognize that Chanukah is an important holiday, which often coincides with Christmas, though unfortunately not this year. However, from now on we're calling it our "Holiday Party." The same policy applies to any other employees who are not Christians or those still celebrating Reconciliation Day. There will be no Christmas tree present. No Christmas carols sung.
We will have other types of music for your enjoyment.
Happy now?
Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Regarding the note I received from a member of Alcoholics Ano! nymous requesting a non-drinking table ... you didn't sign your name. I'm happy to accommodate this request, but if I put a sign on a table that reads, "AA Only"; you wouldn't be anonymous anymore. How am I supposed to handle this? Somebody? Forget about the gifts exchange, no gifts exchange are allowed since the union members feel that $10.00 is too much money any executives believe $10.00 is a little chintzy. NO GIFTS EXCHANGE WILL BE ALLOWED.

RE: Holiday Party
What a diverse group we are! I had no idea that December 20 begins the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which forbids eating and drinking during daylight hours. There goes the party! Seriously, we can appreciate how a luncheon at this time of year does not accommodate our Muslim employee's beliefs. Perhaps the Grill House can hold off on serving your meal until the end of the party - or else package everything for you to take it home in little foil doggy baggy. Will that work? Meanwhile, I've arranged for members of Weight Watchers to sit farthest from the dessert buffet and pregnant women will get the table closest to the restrooms. Gays are allowed to sit with each other. Lesbians do not have to sit with Gay men, each will have their own table. Yes, there will be flower arrangement for the Gay men's table.
To the person asking permission to cross dress, no cross-dressing allowed though, we will have booster seats for short people. Low-fat food will be available for those on a diet. We cannot control the salt used in the food, we suggest for those people with high blood pressure to taste first.
There will be fresh fruits as dessert for Diabetics, the restaurant cannot supply "No Sugar" desserts. Sorry! Did I miss anything?!?!?

RE: The F**king Holiday Party
Vegetarian pricks, I've had it with you people!!! We're going to keep this party at the Grill House whether you like it or not, so you can sit quietly at the table furthest from the "grill of death," as you so adequaintly put it, and you'll get your f**king salad bar, including organic tomatoes.
But you know, tomatoes have feelings, too. They scream when you slice them. I've heard them scream. I'm hearing them scream right NOW! I hope you all have a rotten holiday! Drive drunk and die,
The Bitch from HELL!!!!!!!!

I'm sure I speak for all of us in wishing Patty Lewis a speedy recovery and I'll continue to forward your cards to her. In the meantime, management has decided to cancel our Holiday Party and give everyone the afternoon off with full pay.
Happy Holidays!
