"The way of war is a way of deception. When able, feign inability; when deploying troops, appear not to be. When near, appear far; when far, appear near. Lure with bait; strike with chaos. If the enemy is full, be prepared. If strong, avoid him. If he is angry, disconcert him. If he is weak, stir him to pride. If he is relaxed, harry him; if his men are harmonious, split them. Attack where he is unprepared; appear where you are unexpected. This is victory in warfare; it cannot be divulged in advance. Victory belongs to the side that scores most in the temple calculations before battle. Most spells victory; least spells defeat; none, surer defeat. I see it in this way, and the outcome is apparent." -- Sun Tzu

Movies:
Forcing me to choose favorite movies may well cause a fundamental breakdown in the universe but I suppose I can name a few that I know I'll watch again at some point:

Star Wars 1-6
Slayers: The Motion Picture
Akira
Dune(Long version but I have yet to find it on DVD, may just mean I'm not looking hard enough)
Darkstar
Batman Begins
Fantastic Four

TV series:
This list is a lot easier and will not create a fundamental breakdown in the universe if I choose some:

Avatar The Last Airbender
Inyuyasha(had trouble getting into the series until I managed to watch a boxed set of season 1 then I understood and all was right with the world)
Ranma 1/2(forgien TV counts even if on DVD when watched right?)
Stargate SG-1
Stargate Atlantis
Battlestar Galactica(Old)
Battlestar Galactica(New)
Firefly
The Red Green Show(I wish my PBS would stop messing with the time slot on that because for all I know it has gone off the air by now)
The Tick(thank you ABC Family and Jetix in my area, you have made me a happy man)
Justice League
Justice League Unlimited(unfortunately I've fallen so behind in this one it is not funny)

I don't watch a whole lot of TV. Mostly because the majority of it sucks, and much of what's not there I miss.

That said, I currently enjoy:
The Shield
Deadwood
slowly getting to like Lost
Sunday Night Baseball (and basically any damn game I can catch on the road)
Home Movies (make more) and Sealab 2021

I really miss:
Miami Vice
Special Unit 2 (where's the damn DVD)
Cheers
M.A.S.H.
MacGuyver
Jeremiah
Stingray (REALLY dating myself now)
actual Saturday Morning Cartoons!

I wouldn't even know where to start with movies.  Most things with The Duke or anything by Kurosawa.  Um, what else? Miyazaki's stuff. The Power of One. Time Bandits.  Hell, I dunno, there's too many.

That abomination that Sci Fi did is not Dune, nor will it ever be.

I'm talking the original 3 hour long release of Dune.  Or is the 2 hour short version the original release?

Anyrate the long version of Dune that was made many years back according to a Dune fan friend of mine only had 4 flaws from the book.

That mockery of a mini-series was so far off that it is not funny.  The acting was flat and emotionless.  Aside from the good special effects it really did not live up to the original as it had entirely too many errors from the book.
