OOC: It's here. This is a runon for all members of Storm platoon. Post pretty much what you like, but try not to kill all your fellow men just for the hell of it, Geist left us a supply of tar and feathers, use those instead. The Story begins... The Colonel sweated under the spotloght shining in his face. The cables leading from his head to a bank of consoles glinted dully in the white light, and silence abounded. He sat and sweated and waited. The questioning had gone on for days while they tried to pull information out of him, with no success so far. The darkened room was starting to get to him, though. He did not know how much longer he could hold out. Later, the Colonel did not know how long, the door to the room swished open and two men, accompanied by two guards walked in. The guards, gleaming in their polished white armour, took up positions to either side of the door as it closed. The first of the two men, he recognised, it was his questioner. The other was unfamiliar, strange-looking in a dark robe, he moved to one side of the room and stood looking at the Colonel, while the first moved back to his position on the far side of the light and took up the question again. "Who is your commanding officer?" he asked. "Weber, Abrent, Colonel, 433523," the Colonel replied, it was the same answer he'd given to every question asked so far - even when asked if he wanted a drink. "Where were you stationed?" "Weber, Abrent, Colonel, 433523." "What faction do you belong to?" "Weber, Abrent, Colonel, 433523," The questions continued for a while, how long was blurred in the mind of the Colonel, but soon enough the man in the robe spoke up. "I have it," he said, "Guards take this man to the detention block." After the guards had left with the prisoner, the interrogator turned to the man in the robes of a Dark Jedi. "Good work, Tal," he said, "Thanks."
Storm Platoon Commander's Office - 24 hours later Ramon Stonefish studied the brief he had been handed while he waited for the squad leaders under him to arrive. It detailed a fairly easy assignment by all appearances, but appearances had long been discarded as a factor in judging an assignment. The brief made a number of assumptions about the intelligence on which it was based - the it was accurate, fully accurate and up to date, that the platoon was ready to go, and that all the men in it were fully trained. The first was out of Stonefish's hands, as High Command gathered the intelligence. The second was not entirely to Stonefish's satisfaction as the Dread Knights had only come back off assignment a couple of days ago and were due some R&R. As to the third, well any way you look at it, Stonefish had not yet had chance to change it as his appointment to this office was only a day old. His duffel was not yet unpacked in the office, and weapons he had transferred from his barracks still lay scattered across the surfaces in the room. A knock on his door announced the arrival of Sergeant Major Stormie, Squad Leader of Drill squad - the corps training squad. "You asked to see me, sir?" he asked as Stonefish waved him in. "Stormie, first we've known each other long enough you don't call me sir in private even when I do get a commission, which I haven't yet except by technicality of position." "Okay, Fish." "Right, take a seat," said Stonefish gesturing to a chair covered in power packs. Stormie walked over, moved the power packs to the floor and sat down on the chair. "I don't want to say this too many times, so we'll wait for the others," said Stonefish. It didn't take long for Argon Viper and Kiption to arrive in the office, and get them seated. Stonefish took a gulp of coffee and and breath and began to explain what was going on to the others. "I don't mean to interrupt you," said Stormie, breaking into Fish's briefing, "but why am I here? My men a still in Basic learning which end of the blaster is the dangerous one." "I know, Stormie," replied Stonefish, "but I have a feeling I'm gonna need every single man under my command on this one, and even your green recruits would do well for some combat experience. I have a feeling they may come in handy. "As I was saying," he continued, "We go in, set up on Farnak's surface, scout out the enemy base, eliminate patrols if we have to. When we're set, we go in and recover as much of the database from their computer as we can. We could do with a slicer for this one, but I don't think anyone in this platoon has the training yet. "Remember as we go in, secrecy is paramount. The Scythe is our command vessel for this one, and we'll be parking it behind the planet's moon. We go in under cover of a meteor shower and land here," he pointed to a map of the planet on his desk, "about sixty miles from the base location. According to intel, the local populace is localised to a few areas where geothermal vents allow power plants to be set up. The target itself is pure military, no civilians, so don't worry too much about collateral damage when we go in." Stonefish paused and looked at the three men on the other side of his desk. Jester squad was equipped for recon, and would be good in the initial phase of this mission. Dread Knights squad was set up for spec ops and had urban combat experience, which would probably come in handy during the actual assault. Drill was there for weight. Extra men, more guns. If nothing else, they could man the pallisade if the enemy assaulted the camp. "Kiption," began Stonefish, "your initial assignment will be to get me detailed intelligence of patrol movements in the area between our camp and our target. Stay out of sight as much as you can, anyone who does see you - make sure they don't report our presence. "Argon, I need you to get a couple of men inside the target, get me detailed plans of the place, details of manpower and firepower. Tell me what we're up against. "Stormie, get your men to build me a good fort. I've requisitioned the materials, your job is to get it put up when we get there. "Any questions?" "Yes," said Kiption, "What backup have we got in case things go sour?" "That's the bind," said Stonefish, "The best I could get was a transmitter with an emergency signal on a coded band.  Reinforcements from what's available will be sent out as and when it's received, but there is no fixed backup." "What kind of opposition is there?" asked Argon. "More of the same rebel forces we engaged on Tadath and Lotaith, probably with more of the same equipment. Actual numbers are unknown, but intelligence estimates somewhere between one and three battalions of regulars, and an armour platoon. "Nothing else? Good, then I'll leave you to brief your men and get set. We depart 0800 tomorrow." Stonefish watched the three men leave the room, and wondered what kind of outcome this mission would have.

Kiption rushed back to the hanger where he had left the rest of Jester squad.  Most of them had broken out the speeder bikes and were now racing them up and down the hanger bay.  Apparently Tylen had been winning most of the races, damn advantages that the force gives certain people.  He first walked over to Merrick, still sitting by herself.  "Still want to kill people?"  She nodded.  "Follow me," and he led her back over to where the rest of the squad was loosely assembeled. "Com'on Drag Queen." "You can make it, he's only 15." "You're gonna lose to a 15 year old?!??!?!?!"'  Cheering for Dragoon was almost as obnoxious as he himself was.  Nobody wanted to see him lose, he took it so poorly, and it was gonna be even worse if he lost to a mere child.  "DRAGOON, TYLEN!  END IT NOW!"  The cheering stopped as Dragoon and Tylen turned their bikes around and headed back towards the group.  They came to a halt, dismounted and formed up with the rest of Jester squad.  "Prepare your equipment, We're moving out..  You guys have till 0800 tomorrow morning to prepare your gear and be boarded on the shuttle.  If you're not there,  not only will we leave without you, but you will be demoted back into the Drill squad under Stormie.  Those of you that were with him before will know that this is not a good thing..." He continued.  "Dragoon, you and Tylen will load our sleds and speeders onto the shuttle.  Merrick and Augustus you will come with me, and we will see about getting you two some rifles that are better suited to your needs.  Stitch, prepare the medical kit, as well as find a weapon.  We may need both of your skills.  Everybody else get your gear ready and then help others.  We may be the younger squad here, but we are not going to look like.  You have your orders... MOVE IT!"  Kiption led Merrick and Augusts down to the quartermasters bay.  ------------------------------------------ OOC:  Get prepared, we move out as soon as you're ready....

Argon headed to the room where the DK were relaxing after their successful mission to capture the Colonel who had given them the information for this job. The room quieted as they gathered around him to hear what was going on. "All right,"he said,"here's what's happening, someone managed to get something out of the Colonel, and considering the speed of it, I'd say the VEDJ were involved.  Not that that's our concern, but it's nice to figure these things out.  Anyways, there's a Rebel base off on some backwater and we're supposed to kill it.  Jester pulled the recon assignment on this, and Drill is just going to be cannon fodder on this.  Our job, is the most fun of them all.  Two of us are going to infiltrate the base, and the rest of you are going to set up whatever the heck you think might be useful outside the base." "Okay,"said Myrrdin,"so who's going in and who gets to set up sniper positions and grenades?" "I've picked Myrrdin and me for the covert assignment,"said Argon,"me because I've done this before, and Myrrdin because he trained with Fish as a sniper.  As for the rest of you, PaTrIcK is in charge.  Do what he says within reason, and set up some stuff to help us out when we start destroying the base.  Understood?" He got a rousing chorus of semi-cheers. "Good,"he said,"then pack your stuff and let's get going." Outside again, he ran into Kuroishi and Tycho of Drill Squad. Despite having once held much higher ranks and positions in the Army, both had left earlier, and were now PFCs in the training group. "Hey,"said Tycho,"it's our future Squad Leader." "Whatsup?"replied Argon. "Oh, not much,"said Kuroishi,"we're just going off to build and defend a fort." "Well,"said Argon,"I'll see you there." As they parted, Argon spotted Fish and ran to catch up to him. "Hey Fish,"he said,"you know how you were complaining about not having a slicer?" "Yeah..."said Fish cautiously. "You do remember that Tycho is very good at slicing, right?" "Well,"said Fish,"I'll check with him on that, thanks." "No problem,"said Argon as he headed off to pack his stuff. This was going to be a lot of fun

Stitch double timed it to the medical station.  The sterile air always had a metallic taste to it, but that was how things went in the medical business.  Clean over comfort, especially if you're not a patient.  Making his way to the supply room, he grabbed two medical kits and dumped their contents onto an empty table.  Grabbing the bacta patches of all sizes and the gauze wraps, he shoved everything else off to the side.  He pulled a backpack from a shelf and stuffed the things he saved in it.  He added a laser scalpel and scanner to the bag before leaving the room. He took one last stop in the medical facilities to grab a few medicines and bandages to help with large wounds, hoping he wouldn't need them.  Stitch's next destination was the squad's arms stash.  The chestplate from the Scout Trooper armor and a Stormtrooper II Carbine was all Stitch took, as mobility was key.  He had already swiped two thermal detonators from Tylen's collection and had them hidden from view, but accessible. Stitch walked briskly back to the hanger where Jester's speeders were parked.  Finding one with no gear attached, he tied his bag down firmly to the back.  While most of Jester was trying the speeders out, Stitch had scanned the manual that was found in one of the back compartments, so he had a rough idea on how to work it without trial and error.  He would save that for when they reached their destination.  Slinging his rifle strap over his shoulder, Stitch reported back into Gunnery Sergeant Kiption, letting him know he was ready to head out.   ----------------------- (+)  Private First-Class Stitch Jester Squad - Combat Medic MDC/PFC Stitch/Jester Squad/Storm Platoon/VEA/VE How many doctors does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

"All right,"said Argon as his squad assembled,"I've got yet another announcement to make.  Fury implemented a 'specialist' program.  So I'm gonna assigne each of you a specialist area to concentrate on.  This doesn't mean that you can't do other things, it just means that I want you to be the best in the squad at that one thing.  Got it?" "Yeah,"replied PaTrIcK. "Got it,"replied Myrrdin. The rest of them sort of just mumbled. "Good,"continued Argon,"Myrrdin, you're the sniper." Myrrdin nodded, acknowledging his new job. "PaTrIcK, sorry, but I'm taking the explosives specialist, but to make it up to you, you're in charge of heavy weapons." "Well,"said PaTrIcK,"at least it's something." "Brakiss, we need a medic, so you're on it." "Yes sir,"replied Brakiss. "Darkhelmet, you're gonna be a sniper with Myrrdin, we need more than one of those." "Yes!"came the shout from Darkhelmet. "And Scout, I want you to be our scout." "Sounds obvious enough,"said Scout with a slight grin. "Okay,"said Argon,"everyone go get what you need for your new jobs, Fury's authorized us to raid the armories for this one." The room emptied out faster than anyone would have believed, the Dread Knights pushing to be the first to the armories. As for Argon, he already had all his explosives with him, he always did.

Stonefish stood in the shuttle's hold making a last-minute check of everything he was taking with him from his personal gear. "Swoop," he said, "Check. "Shotgun, check. "Pistols, one-two-three-four-five-six-seven, check. "Sniper rifles, loud and quiet, check. "Armour polish? Who put this in here?" He threw the tin of Gleem! into a corner and carried on. "Grenades, explosive, fragmentary, concussion, flash-bang, marker, smoke, yeah check. "Rifles, blaster, several, check. "Beginner's guide to platoon command, check." He switched off the datapad, not bothering to carry on, the essentials were there. Just as he sat down, the shuttle lifted off from the pad and headed up out of the atmosphere to the Marauder Corvette, Scythe. He could see another shuttle just pulling out of the docking bay, indicating that at least one of his squads was on board. There were still a couple of hours left before departure, but he'd need them to get his gear stowed.

In his quarters aboard the Scythe, Argon donned his weaponry. On his belt, never having ever left it, were his twin lightsabers, one built by him in his time in the Intruder Wing Planetary Operations Division, and the other given to him by his grandfather. To this, he added the submachingun he had 'borrowed' from the still missing Geist's collection and several clips of 50 explosive shells each. Over his back, he strapped a sniper rifle given to him by Daishi back when Daishi had been the leader of the POD and one of the best snipers in the galaxy. To the pouch on his side, he added replacements for the explosives he had used on his last mission, as well as several inceineration and structural explosives. In the other pouch he had slung over his other side, he placed several programable holo-cubes, he and Geist had once used these to great effect in an ambush that destroyed an entire company back when they'd first started working for the VE. As he left the room, he carried with him an automatic grenade launcher that he knew PaTrIcK would enjoy

Patrick has been the smart one.. After the briefing he was first to the armory. And has a order list from the teller behind the force field. Patrick was thinking of what to get when a lot of commotion was coming down the hall. Patrick looked up and seen it was the rest of the DK's and they were fighting to get an order list. Patrick watched with much amusement then turned back to his order list and was checking things that he "needed" from the VE..Patrick Ordered the Following: KV-1 Swoop, an E-Web Blaster, a V-Web Portable Blaster Artillery Peice, and the Mountain Dew machine.         Patrick took his order list and handed it to the teller.. The teller looked at it, then at Patrick then back to the order list. He shrugged and went to the back and gave Patrick a lot key. "Your equipment will be delivered to this Compartment upon your arrival to it." The teller told Patrick. Patrick thanked the Teller and walked off to the recieving department with his key in hand.       PaTrIcK got to his compartment in about 15 minutes.. There was a lot of commotion going on. People scrammbling into rooms and going to the hangers for the take off. PaTrIcK got to the compartment and got 2 droids to help him take it to Argon's Ship. The driods followed PaTrIcK with the heavier weoponry that would need to be tied behind a swoop and pulled to the spot. He arrived at Argon's ship just as Argon was going to go and get the rest of the DK's.     "Hey, Patrick" said Argon."I have you something." Argon gave Patrick the automatic Grenade launcher. He was so pleases with Patrick's reaction it made him smile inside. Argon quickly asked Patrick why he got the Mountain Dew machine.. Patrick's explanation wasn't that simple... He kept rambling about getting anything and he just got it. Argon just shook his head smiled and told him to get into a cabin on the ship and get situated. Argon walked off to find the other DK members.                     PaTrIcK found a cabin with a good view. The only bad thing about the trip is that he would have to share a room.. TOo bad their weren't any girls in the Dreaded Knights.. Maybe some people who act remarkedly like them but no real girls. Anyways, PaTrIcK quickly was unloading his duffle bag. He was placing his belongings on both beds seperating them by class. He was over looking his supplies. Lets see 2x .45 slugthrower pistols 2x Repeating Blaster Rifles 16x Thermal Detanators 24x Home Made Specialty Grenades 12x magazines for the .45 slug throwers 20x repeating Blaster Rifle Magazines         Myrrdin quickly came running in and threw his stuff all over the place. PaTrIcK just looked at Myrrdin and started to pick his stuff up.. This was going to be a long trip.

Kiption led Merrick and Augustus into the armory to get them sniper rifles.  He sat back and waited for the two of them to find a rifle that suited them.  Several members of Argon's Dread Knights squad were running around doing the same as them.  Special Forces operatives always get to pick the best of the equipment, which prolly led to some of the resentment that Kiption had for them.  Well that and their constant bragging about how good they were.  This would be his chance to show that his squad could hold their own with them.  Merrick and Agustus each test the rifles, bringing them up to their shoulders and sweeping the rifle around the area that they were in.  He had to keep reminding Merrick about muzzle control and that it wasn't right for her to aim at the heads of other people.  "I was just trying to see if I could use it to follow someone around."  It almost justified the severe misuse of rifle, but it wouldn't hold up if someone with some actual power happened to walk into the area at the time.  Augustus was making practice sweeps across the ceiling with one rifle, putting it back down, picking up another and repeating the process.  Kiption never really understood how one rifle could be completely different from another one, but when the people using them would be the people watching over him he wasn't about to start complaining.  "Can we go fire them?" Augustus asked while sweeping the one rifle across the ceiling.  Merrick brough down the rifle that she was holding onto and looked at Kiption with a look that also asked Augustus' question.  Kiption noded.  "When you find one that you like we can go down to the range and fire a couple of shots, as long as you're ready by the morning."  "Then what are we waiting for?" Augustus led the way out of the armory with Merrick two steps behind him.  "I'll meet you two back at the barracks, I have to fill out the paperwork for your weapons.  Good shooting."  They were already lining up their first shots in their mind and had completely forgotten about Kiption.  'Oh well' he thought and went to the clerks desk to sign out the weapons.  He headed back to his quarters to get his gear together.   ----------------------- Jester Squad Leader Just another pretty face....

Tycho didn't like base duty, but he could appreciate its importance. He began to clean his weapons in a methodical manner. Kuroishi walked in. "Need some help?" "No thanks, man. You've got a ton of work to do." "Don't you mean, WE'VE got a ton of work to do?" "I'm already working, see?," Tycho held out his weapon for inspection. "You call that work? Thats playing...fun...not work! We've got to be ready to help set up camp and man the defenses. Any ideas?," Kuroishi used his superior rank to ruin Tycho's perfectly good excuse. "Well, I'd definitely put a string of mines around...the ones that send shrapnel everywhere...none of the ones filled only with explosives.," Tycho's brain reluctantly began to work. "I'd rather set those out as a primary defense. Just so none of our guys get hit by any flying metal or anything. After that, we'll have to rely on the cameras. We've got infra-red, ultra-violet, motion sensing, and normal cameras. I'll pick the positions--its your job for you to put them there, private." "Will do...I'd just rather see everything on the world we're going to, and not just whats on the briefing, before I go out setting things up...primarily any flora or fauna that has an appetite for young humans, such as myself." Kuroishi replied,"Well, slice in. Just cover your tracks. I know its been a while, but this should be easy for you, right? Alright alright...if you do it and get readouts on everything and file a report with me, I'll owe you two drinks, ok?" Tycho grunted, "Fine...but not one of those specialty drinks you like to use for your pranks, either." Kuroishi headed out the door, "You've got a deal. Getting past the security shouldn't be a problem. I'm going to go get some rest. I expect the report by 2300." Tycho sighed and turned towards his portable workstation...and he became engrossed in the world of slicing...he didn't even notice the loud squeal of his comlink going off...

[OOC: Tycho, check the roster, you and Daishi are the same rank  ] Argon headed over to where the Drill Squad was based to check out what Kuroishi(d*mn that name's hard to get used to, I'm just gonna stick to Daishi from now on...  ) and Tycho were setting up. On the way he passed Stormie, almost ready to fly into a rage. "Hey Stormie,"he called,"what's wrong?" "Tycho was supposed to report in a half hour ago,"Stormie replied,"I've been comming him since then but he hasn't responded." "Don't worry,"said Argon,"I'm on my way there anyways, I'll check it out." "All right,"said Stormie,"I hope they graduate soon, I've got enough on my mind without them..." With that, Stormie wandered off to check out the condition of the rest of his troops. Argon walked into a dark room lit only by the glare from a computer screen. Obviously, Tycho was hacking something. "Hey Tych,"he said from the doorway,"are you still alive in here?" "Huh?"said Tycho, muffledly, as if waking up,"how did you get here?" "Uhhh, walked?"said Argon,"Stormie's been trying to reach you by comm for a half hour now." "Oh crap,"replied Tycho,"I'd better report in then.  Thanks." "No problem,"said Argon,"also, can I get a copy of what you found on there?" "Huh?"replied Tycho as he headed out,"Oh sure, here ya go." Tycho tossed him the disk as he rushed outside. Argon had no idea what it was, but for Tycho to be that into his hacking, it had to be important.

He rushed down to report in to Stormie "Where the hell have you been???" clued in Tycho as to what his superior's mood was... "I was uh...just catching up on some rest, its been a while since I've been on a mission. Checking equipment, making sure everything was there...you know, preparing physically and mentally." "Fine. Please remember for next time," came the somewhat calmer reply. "I hope you haven't lost any of the skills your training gave you. Just be ready to go." "Yessir. If you don't mind, I'm going to study the planet until my eyes bug out. I want to be able to tell where I am just from the feel of the ground under my boots. Then I'm going to have a relaxing drink. Sleep would be the next thing on my mind." "Just to make sure you're ready, I'll be dropping by twelve hours from now. I had better see you preparing your equipment. I want everything to fall into place perfectly." Tycho replied, "Will do, sir. Everything will be ready." "Good luck in your studies, private. See you in just under twelve hours."

PaTrIcK was preoccuping himself with unloading his duffle bag. All of his personal clothing were in it. But there was a box in the bottom of the duffle bag about the size of an breifcase(actually it is a breifcase). Patrick picked it up and found a card on it..It said: Good Bye my lover, i hope you do well. for tomorrow is a new day, full of dreams to fulfill. and as you're softly dreaming, think of me, i'll be by your side. Love you always,   Jennifer   Patrick smiled to himself... So his girlfriend did care about him. He opened the breif case and found a leather Trenchcoat. Just Like Morpheous's from the Matrix.. Patrick was smiling so big that Myrrdin stopped destroying the room and came over to look at what Patrick had gotten." Cool man," Said Myrrdin." Are you going to wear it ?" "Of Course I am!", Said Patrick excitedly. This was the first time someone had given him clothing this good in a long time. Patrick pulled the trenchcoat out and seen what looked like polarized Lenses..a note was attached to them: Put them in your helmet visor. I think they won't let you keep your helmet off during a battle so put these in place of your helmet's regular lenses. Wow.. Patrick's g/f had this all thought out. Myrrdin was looking kinda poor. "whats wrong with you Myrr?" Asked Patrick. "Oh Nothing.. I just think that when it comes to me making my shot I will miss." said Myrrdin kinda down. "Its allright, lets go to the target range and shoot some." said Patrick. And with that Patrick put on his trenchcoat and his 2 .45s and a box of ammo and talked with Myrrdin as they left the  room.         ----------------------- TRP/CPL Patrick/2SQD/2PLT/1COM/1BAT/1RGT/VEA/VE Member of the Dreaded Knight Squad.

Argon stood on a second story roof about a kilometer away from the shooting range, but with a direct line of sight to it. He took out his sniper rifle, setting the scope for the correct distance. He took a peek down it and adjusted it that little tiny bit that it was off by. Opening the chamber, he loaded a thin bullet, meant to measure the tiniest differences in a shot in target shooting, in it. Lying down on his stomach, he put on the camo that was colored for hiding on buildings. He set up his rifle and watched through the scope as PaTrIcK and Myrrdin joined the group of soldiers who were already at the range. They unloaded their equipment and began to practice on the second lane from Argon's left. Suddenly, something struck his ribs. Rolling with the attack, he struck out with his feet, catching someone in the shins. Throwing off his camo, he looked down to see Fish flat on his back. "Son of b*tch,"he swore as Argon helped him up,"what were you doing there anyway?" "Sniping,"replied Argon, returning to a prone position and putting his camo back on. "Well,"said Fish,"you've gotten better, I didn't even see you there.  You got binoculars?  I want to see how well you do." Argon handed them to him without looking up or otherwise moving from his chosen position. He took careful aim, checking the exact direction where Myrrdin was currenly aiming one of PaTrIcK's .45 pistols. Just as Myrrdin pressed the trigger, Argon fired. Argon's shot connected with Myrrdin's almost a full meter out from the target, sending it to the ground and flinging Argon's into the target. "I make it a 7,"said Fish,"you're slowing down." Down at the range, Myrrdin and PaTrIcK looked at their scoreboard, showing a tiny puncture on the 7 point band, but nothing that even resembled a .45 slug. Suddenly, their radio crackled and Argon's voice came through. "Sorry guys, but I needed to practice my sniping."

Tycho put down his literature. He then stood up and took a seat by his equipment and began to put everything in order. Grenades in this pocket, spare power packs in that pocket, a blaster pistol in the chest holster...a carbine in the thigh holster. A special polish that made boots matte black was applied. TI-47 Slugthrower Sniper Rifle cleaned, checked, loaded, and secured. Fifteen minutes later, everything was put into its proper place. Tycho laid back on his "bed" (basically a small cot since he blew all his credits on a illegally obtained master chip--allowing him to get through almost anything in his way). Six hours later, a strong kick woke Tycho up with a jolt..."Wha?" "I said I'd be here in 12 hours to inspect you and your equipment. I DID NOT expect to find you slacking off and sleeping!!!" That clued Tycho in on the fact that his officer wasn't a morning person...or was it the afternoon? Tycho couldn't remember. "Sir, give me five seconds." "You've got them" Tycho swiftly walked over and lifted up his tactical vest, strapped it on, and lifted his duffle bag. "Private First Class Tycho Celchu reporting for duty, sir!" "Ok ok...I see you did everything beforehand...but you did violate orders that I was to see you working on it when I came in here." "Yessir, I did. But I needed my sleep." "I don't care. You could have woken up fifteen minutes ago and kept preparing. Get the hell out of here and get down to the sniping range--use that weird sniper rifle of yours, and we'll see how ready you are for combat." With that, Stormie stormed out of the room. Tycho took out a datapad and recorded a memo for himself: "Note to self: make good use of that master chip and play prank on commanding officer of Drill Squad."

Argon and Fish were annoying the people at the shooting range when Tycho walked in behind them. "Great minds think alike,"commented Argon before turning back to the field. "Make that insane minds,"said Fish, still focusing on his target. "How long have you guys been practicing?"asked Tycho. "Uhhh..."Argon leaned over to check his watch,"about an hour.  Why?" "Just wondering,"said Tycho, taking out his sniper rifle and putting it together. "Buzzing,"said Fish, pressing the laser targetter button for the barest of moments. "Two centimeters high,"said Argon softly, watching the action through his macrobinoculars. Tycho had seen it too, and he knew where Fish was aiming. Setting up quickly, he set up his shot. Just before Fish shot, Tycho took his shot, knocking down a potted plant directly into Fish's firing path. Fish's shot shattered the pot, showering the nearby troops with dirt and leaves. "Nice shot Tycho,"said Fish, still not turning away from his scope,"but you realize that I'll have to get you for that..."

Twelve hours later -------------------- The Marauder Corvette Scythe dropped out of hyperspace just outside the Farnak system, a binary system with eight planets and a light asteroid belt. The two stars in the centre of the system made a dazzling display as they traded plasma occasionally in the form of massive flares between the two stars. Stonefish was glad they were ina military vessel. Civilian craft with a lack of hardened electronics would have a nightmare trying to navigate around here in the EM interference caused by the solar storms. The pilot tapped some numbers into the navicomputer, plotting the microjump in behind Farnak's largest moon, a gray-brown lump of rock in a high orbit. Not dissimilar to the planet itself, also a gray-brown lump of rock, though significantly larger than the moon. The corvette entered hyperspace again, only to drop out seconds later directly behind the moon. "Good work, Lieutenant," said Stonefish, before switching on the ship's comm, "Okay, Storm platoon, we are now in place. Assemble in the shuttle bay."
A pair of landing craft were being loaded in the hangar, one with base supplies, prefab buildings and equipment, the other with troop supplies - guns, speeder bikes, a Chariot uLAV. The three squads stood to attention on the opposite side. "Okay, men, here's the drill. As soon as the landing craft opens up, I want Jester out and scouting around. Dread Knights who are not infiltrating will assist Drill in the construction of our field base. You should know a little better than most of them how to construct a good base. Drill, you have your orders. Tycho," an evil grin lit Stonefish's face, "You are assigned to the toilet block. And I want it nice and clean every day." Tycho grimaced slightly before covering it with a cheery smile. "Yes, Sergeant," he said. "Let's get on board. I want combat seating, you know your places." The three squads trotted up the boarding ramp to one of the landing craft and strapped themselves in place, stowing their rifles in the holsters to the side of each seat. Stonefish sealed the ramp on the shuttle and commed the pilot that they were ready to leave. "Okay, Sergeant, we're just waiting for the meteor shower to get going. Leaving in two minutes." Stonefish went and got himself seated.
The two landing craft left the hangar of the Scythe one after the other, their stubby wings lowering as soon as they were clear. Pulling around the moon, the pilots could see the planet properly for the first time. A dusty brown ball in space, no visible oceans, and a lot of canyons scarring the surface. The meteor shower tracked fiery lines across the upper atmosphere, they were going in. The landing craft shook violently as they entered the atmosphere, and jolted when the retro thrusters kicked in. Their target was a dead-end canyon, about two hundred feet wide at the entrance, widening out to about half a mile at its widest and tapering off to a rocky face. The floor lay about five hundred feet down from the plateau above it, and the rock-face was fairly sheer. Not easy to climb up. As soon as the landing craft bumped to the ground, Jester were up and uncovering their speeder bikes, prepping for launch. Almost before the boarding ramp hit the ground, they were riding them out on to the dusty floor of the canyon, and opening them up as they rode out of sight. The other shuttle landed about ten yards from the first, and the ramp lowered. Jester and Drill squad filed out from the landing craft and set to work. OOC: Let's get it rolling properly

Tycho walked over to the bay and grabbed a tool. He mumbled under his breath comments that shouldn't be repeated. The planet's lack of plant life didn't exactly surprise Tycho, but the sparseness of floral life seemed to make it seem even more devoid of plants. Only a few strands of grass rose here and there out of the reddish-brown ground. He began to dig...one meter deep, one meter wide. Camouflage awning to cover the hole, with thick drapes coming down on all sides for privacy. A final touch was a sign that was double sided. One side read "Empty." The other side was a tad malicious in saying "Fish is in here...can't you smell?"...but that was the best Tycho could do on the five minutes he was able to devote to the glorious task of building a latrine. He'd get his sergeant back at a later time and date. Next was to finish helping put up the improvised headquarters--a small tent made to fit ten men and able to have a small operations table. Everything had to be at a minimum...the more there was, the more easily it would be to detect their presence. Tycho then took five seconds out of his time to put a five centimeter wide object on the ground...it was a passive transmitter. When a craft flew overhead and took sensor readings of the area, the transmitter would act like the sensors and report that it was a barren wasteland...not a base of operations. Kuroishi's stomach growled. Tycho hurried over to help him finish up the mess area--an army ran on its stomach, as the saying goes. Some of the Jesters got back from their scouting rounds, but not all of them had come in just yet. Tycho assumed the others had spotted something and were checking it out. At least, he hoped that was what was happening...

Immediately upon arrival on the desolate planet, Argon and Myrrdin took their leave of the main group, heading for the location of the enemy base. They arrived in midafternoon, and setup a camp to wait until nightfall. As twilight came, Argon and Myrrdin snuck up to within one hundred meters of the enemy citadel. Sighting on the two guards, Myrrdin covered Argon as he sprinted the distance. Argon lagged away from the walls enough that he was able to cover Myrrdin as he made the distance. They both made it undetected. Timing it for when the guards would least likely see it, they threw a grappling hook over the edge and climbed up. They made it down the other side without being seen. "All right,"said Argon,"we're in.  Here's what I want you to do.  Plant a remote anti-tamper detonator on their comm systems.  Then find a good sniping spot, somewhere that you can see the whole base, but also that you won't be found for a while.  Got it?" Myrrdin nodded his head, both knew not to make more noise than necessary. "Go,"said Argon. Myrrdin hurried off to do his job, and Argon headed off to do what he had come here to do...

"Allright, Everyone under my influence follow me," Said Patrick as he walked out of the lander with his gear. "The equipment will be in that hanger designed especially for us,"said Patrick still walking towards the barracks."When There is a code blue we are to be inside of that and out in 2 minutes max." Patrick walked into the barracks, and started going to each one trying to find the best one. He quickly gave up deciding on the fact that they were all the same.     Patrick unpacked his things.. His trenchcoat, armor, weapons, girlfriends picture, and his good Ol' Cell phone. Patrick put on his trench coat and walked down the stairs to the outside to take a look around. He seen Tycho digging a big hole.       Tycho was digging furiously swearing under his breath and all this other stuff.."Having fun tycho?" Asked Patrick mockingly. "What do you think?" Asked Tycho as he flicking a dirt clod in Patrick's direction. Patrick stepped to one side and watched it splatter everywhere. "Hurry up and get this finished.. I have a job I need you to help me with." said Patrick. Tycho looked at him like he was stupid of something. Patrick smiled "You won't get into any trouble I swear, Meet me at the Dreaded Knights hanger." And with that Patrick walked off towards the Hanger and opened the door and walked in....   {OOC: I wanted to shoot back at Argon but somehow we got on this planet.Sorry Argon maybe next time man..."

[OOC: PaTrIcK, you couldn't hit me from where you stood unless you had an advanced sniper rifle with a very good scope and quite a bit of practice  ] Argon ducked into an alleyway as yet another patrol passed by him. The frequency of the patrols was speeding up, something was definitely afoot. Climbing onto the roof, Argon flattened himself against its surface and checked the surrounding area from his new vantage point. Quickly, he spotted a place where he could dispose of bodies where they wouldn't be found for at least a few weeks if ever. The next day, he reached down and grabbed a staff Lieutenant, lifting him quietly to the roof and tranquilizing him. After a few minutes of brutal interrogation in a hidden area(a janitor's closet, the janitor had been killed the day before by Argon), the Lieutenant had nothing new to say, and he joined the janitor. Argon found the spot the Lieutenant had talked about, a hidden nook right next to the main command center, one that had the advantage of sight and sound. Setting up a camera with both visual and audio sensors, Argon moved back into his new headquarters to check out his video feed. "These new enemies are stronger than anyone we've ever faced,"said one of the men on the screen,"they need to be eliminated at all costs." "Not at all costs,"said the man who was obviously in charge,"we still need to be able to impose control once they are defeated." "Exactly,"said a beautiful woman in full combat gear who had just walked onto the screen,"we need a full scale strike, straight at their heart.  We need to destroy them utterly, so that there's no will for resistance left." "Agreed,"said the man in charge. "What is the location of the enemy?"he asked, turning to a tech. "One Hundred kilometers south-southwest,"reported the tech,"our forces can reach them in under ten minutes." With a start, Argon realized that that was the location of the base the VE had set up. Setting the device to 'record', he went to the wire he had run to a transmitter outside the bases detection radius. "Attention Fish,"he said into the mike,"the enemy knows we're here.  They know our position and are preparing to attack, recommend giving up stealth and finding a fortified spot.  My cover remains secure, as does Myrrdins.  Will continue to report."   ----------------------- Argon Viper IW COL Argon Viper{ret} "History is on the move, those who cannot keep up will watch from a distance, and those who get in our way will not watch at all" - Grand Admiral Thrawn "How boring life would be if everyone felt the same way we do..." - Argon Viper "Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses" - Carl G Jung

Patrick laughed so hard as the bucket of ice water fell on Tycho's head. "I'm sorry..I just had to do that" said Patrick who was laughing so hard he was nearly crying."Anyways the reason I asked you to come here Is because we need to get all this machinery hooked up and ready to go so that we can be at a certain place at a certain time." Patrick and Tycho quickly went to work hooking up the swoops to the artillery and all that stuff.       Patrick told Tycho to stop for a break. Patrick went to the comunications booth in the hanger and called the other Dark Knights and told them all to come to the hanger for a meeting. And with that Patrick turned around and dissmissed Tycho. "Tycho you may go now, thanks for the help . Also, If Stormie has any problems Just tell him to ask me and I will cover for you." said patrick as tycho was leaving.       {OOC: I would say more but I am short on time today. Also Argon anything is possible when you can aim 20 feet up..:P}

Kuroishi immediatly set his tool box down in front of a cave as soon as the call came over the comlink.  Visitors were on the way and Kuroishi hadn't even finished setting up his spotter cameras. "Patrol one to HQ have enemy APC in sight. preparing to engage."  Kuroishi said as he pulled the Timbique Edition Zues rifle he carried for such work off his back. Kuroishi didn't bring any armor piercing ammo this time around because he didn't expect to fight any AT-AT's.  Which was fine since the High Explosive rounds he carried would still be enough to disable though not destroy the APC. Kuroishi began the five minute wait.  His macrobinoculors had a much greater range then any of his impresive rifles.  Setting for a five round burst Kuroishi counted down the time.  If he was lucky he could stop them, or at the very least slow them down enough that the others would have a chance. Kuroishi sat wiating knowing that there could be no reply from the HQ since there was still a chance that the enemy didn't know exactly where the base was. Kuroishi adjusted his aim and waited. The thunderclap that was his rifle firing off five half inch diameter slugs in less then a second broke the silence.  Kuroishi used his off hand to grab his tool box and scrambled to his new position inside the nearby cave.  If the enemy decided to attack him here he could hold them long enough for reinforcements to help him out. "Patrol one to HQ have made enemy footbound in sector one mark one.  Assuming defensive position at marker able."  Kuroishi said over the comm as he waited for some sort of response. Either Kuroishi had done something brilant or completely idiotic, even his years of expierience couldn't stop the latter from happening every now and again.

"Move, trooper!" Stonefish shouted at one of the men bolting together the last section of wall, "We got about five minutes before those bastards try and make a pincushion out of your ass!" The prefab walls had been rushed out of the landing craft and had rapidly been assembled across the mouth of the canyon. A couple of men had been outside laying anti-vehicle mines just outside on the dusty plain that stretched out ahead of the base. Behind him, Stonefish heard grunts and curses as one of the heavy repeating blasters was manhandled into place on the small parapet behind the wall. Stonefish moved up the ramp to the top of the wall, and looked out across the plain. A plume of dust rising up marked the approaching column. They weren't hanging around. Stonefish had radioed Jester to drop what they were doing and get their butts back to base. The last bolt was tightened, and the third of the three heavy repeating blasters they had brought along was in place. "Every man to the wall! We can't let those bastards in here!" shouted Stonefish.

She listened for another minute, trying her best not to get caught. She hadn't even had a chance to kill anyone yet, but she'd liked just going out to do stuff on her own. When she was satisfied that there was no one around, she jumped up and started running back toward base... wondering if it would still be there by the time she got back.   ----------------------- Skyalin Tel'sha Jester Squad's chick with a sword To thy protection fear and sorrow flee, and those that weary are of light find rest in thee. Kuroishi sat helplessly as the vehicales kept coming.  The blagards were smart.  They were managing to us the APC he downed earlier to fowl his shots on the rest of the collum.  He probably could relocate but the platoon of troops that were now actively searching for him made that somewhat unlikely. "Ah frak if I do nothing the platoon will be over run."  Kuroishi said as he moved to get a better shot on the lead vehicales. As he expected he heard the scouting unit spot his move with a couple blaster bolts whizzing above his head. Kuroishi lined up his shot.  If he couldn't at least get a good portion of these troops footbound the base would just simply be over-run. Kuroishi fired a burst at each vehicale he didn't have the time to take his ussual carefull and calculated aim so he suspected that he didn't cripple all the APC's but he hoped he got enough that the anti vehicale mines and whatever else Fish had set up could handle the rest. Kuroishi was now taking heavy fire from the unit sent out to chase him down.  Switching to his double barrled blaster rifle Kuroishi started returning fire. From his new position he could trade shots for days on end with the platoon coming after him.  By then they will have figured out how to get to him and rush his position. The weather began to change and darken.  Kuroishi saw this as a sign to get the frak out of there. "Patrol one to base, they have us surrounded again the poor devils."  Kuroishi said into his comm as he drew his vibro katana and charged down into the enemy's position. Severla blasters shots started tracing closer while the rest seemed to be placed in an effort to control his movement.  It would work too if he were ever insane enough to wear standard armor instead of his Varneck Marine Combat Armor, but he decided he'd let them have thier illusion for now. Tapping a few controls on his armor Kuroishi released the restraints and slowed his charge to keep up appearances, after all warfare was mostly psychological and when fighting a madman like Kuroishi things tended to just get messy. [The next section is rated above PG-13, if anyone has a problem with this, please stop reading this post until you see another bracket] Kuroishi got into the middle of a group of five enemy soldiers and immediatly set to work.  Several blaster shots went into his armor but he didn't notice.  One of them was the platoon commander, he Kuroishi would keep alive. Kuroishi brought his blade through the midsection of two of the troopers blood spurted out of the sections of the two soldiers. The three remaining soldiers immediatly started getting thier distance.  Soon more would be here, very soon. Kuroishi ran after one and gave him a solid left jab in the back of the ribs.  The sounds the soldier made lead Kuroishi to believe he had managed to cause on of the ribs to break straight through his lung and prtrude through the front of his chest.  Kuroishi found himself to be correct when he rolled the body over. Kuroishi immediatly set after traking the officer down. As he suspected more playthings had arrived. "I AM THE IMMORTALE TAKER OF SOULS, PENDRAK.  YOU ARE ALL NOW MINE!"  Kuroishi shouted as he started lining up his next attack. Kuroishi began making short work of four of them with his vibro katana.  The first he just split the person's head in half.  The next two he took in one swipe across the chest.  The last Kuroishi split in half length wise. The next group between him and the officer Kuroishi didn't even use his blade on.  He just began working them over with his impressive hand to hand combat skills. The shattering of bone and the sudden use of a corporal's leg as a melee weapon sent all but the most brave running, including the officer he wanted to "Bring back alive". [Safe now] "No you don't, you aren't getting away that easy."  Kuroishi said as he ran right past those who remained. Kuroishi caught up with the lieutenant and kept pace with him quite easily. "You're going to have to run a lot faster then that rebel scum."  Kuroishi said as he put a left jab into the back of the man's head. Kuroishi looked down and realized what he had forgoten. "A platoon commander for a tool set.  I guess it's a fair trade."  Kuroishi said as he made his way back to base. The walk was fairly short as Kuroishi had been setting up the perimeter sensors. Kuroishi saw where the enemy had mustered out of the field of fire of the base.  Soon they would attack.  Kuroishi would have to sneak around some patrols. The base was fairly well assembled by the time Kuroishi managed to get there and the perimeter was as secure as it was ever going to be on this operation. Kuroishi deposited the officer in the "brig" for safe keeping and then rushed to the wall. "I counted an understrength company's worth of men out there with five APC's and one light tank for vehicale support.  Weaponry indicates that the plan on fighting mostly storm troopers.  They seem to be rellying on thier vehicales to fight anything more heavily armored."  Kuroishi reported to both Fish and Stormie at the same time. "Leave any suprises for our friends?"  Fish replied. "Yeah I put eight kilos of command detonated c-8 on that far wall of the canyon.  Give the word and I'll cause an avalanch."  Kuroishi retorted. "Excelent.  Now get a gun trained on the killing fields, we're about to have company any minute now."  Fish said as he began to mull over the options in his mind.

Tycho hurriedly donned his helmet and secured his armor about him. Checking his holster to make sure his pistol was still there, he sprinted to the rest of his equipment. He slung his carbine across his back and then grabbed his slugthrower sniper rifle. He made his way over to the barely finished battlements at the clip of a track star on his final lap. He dived down just in time to see a deep scarlet rope get thrown over his head, gouging a neat hole into the barren ground. He switched on his comlink, "I've got a couple friends over here with some shiny new sniper rifles. I need a little bit of help giving them a warm welcome." He now wished he had grabbed his heavy blaster rifle instead of his comparatively weaker carbine...and he now he was paying the consequences for his lack of foresight. He rolled away, popped up for less than a quarter second, searching with his peripheral vision for movement. He found none *Frak...these guys aren't ya normal perps off the street* he thought. He tried again, and this time he was rewarded with a slight bit of movement along the ground. He grabbed a phosphorus grenade from his tactical vest, pulled the safety and then lobbed it over the protective wall. A blinding glare and the sound of combustion drew him up to catch sight of the damage. The well-camouflaged sniper lay there, flash-fried. A garnet colored bolt slashed across Tycho's helmet, knocking him to the ground and out of the fight. His breathing became ragged, with a nice large hole in his helmet where the bolt had almost melted his head.

Argon had watched the large column of troops leaving the base, and had continued his mission as ordered. However, he had set slow acting dissolvants on the control wires of the APCs and tanks before they had left. He only hoped that they would work fast enough to save the rest of Storm Platoon. Meanwhile, he was now inside on of the five, equilaterally placed armories that the enemy base contained, setting a long fuse on one of the explosive crates. The regiment's worth of troops that had been in the base before was now reduced by nearly an entire company that had gone out to attack the Storms, and their Armor had been reduced by 10%. Setting the fuse, Argon went outside to cause some sort of alarm. He took out his sniper rifle and went up to a large building, one with a clear view of the command center and the main comm buildings and barracks. With this, he began to take out windows, switching randomly as to which building he hit. Quite quickly, and alarm went off, and troops began to mill around toward the armories like little scurrying ants. Having chosen his position wisely, Argon was able to block off access to the other four armories, while realistically leaving the other open. Suddenly, a massive explosion ripped the crowded armory apart and, by the time they got to his position, Argon was long gone...

Kuroishi tossed Fish the detonator for the little suprise he rigged while he busily refurbished the wire connections on his field made double barreled blaster rifle. The rebels were moving carefully and trying to determine where the fortifications were weakest before they made thier main assault. So far a few recon teams had been darting in and out of range to give the rebels the layout of the base. "All right you little buggars I'm going to get you this time."  Kuroishi said as a recon team was making it's way to the left flank. Pulling the trigger three times Kuroishi knew the scout units were dead before he even confirmed it through his scope. Soon the real attack would start. [OOC I wanna leave it up to Fish for when the real fighting starts but if it takes too long expect me to start pulling stuff. /OOC]
