The squad split into their selected groups just as DD came down and started firing on the first trench.  As they were covering the right side of the trench, the squad would come through on the left and dig the enemy out from the inside.

God I love these suicide missions....

Squall ran behind Darr, his equipment lunging at each step, pressing against his back even more.  He could feel the wear and tear of his muscles, but he would not let it stop him.  Not this time, not in the time of need and war.

"Alright, get those rifles up.  They know we're here," said Darr, running even faster.  Squall picked up the pace, and he knew it would cost him in the long run, so he injected a stimulant into his throat, giving him the energy he needed to get the job done.  Squall threw down the seringe as started firing into what was the large group of enemies heads popped up over the trench.  Frag grenades flew from his fingertips as the entire Squad rushed the left flank on the trench.  Things were really starting to get good.

The explosions tossed enemie stormies out of the trench and onto the baren snow convered land.  Squall picked up the pace to keep from getting cliped by the incoming fire from the trench, barely getting away from it.  The ground behind the squad lit up as the enemy troopers made their errors in shots.  They weren't leading the group, and for some reason they couldn't keep up very well.  Squall could hear the chants of the Dragoons as they pounded the right side of the trench, but they wouldn't get into too much action.  Without those repulsor tanks, they would never get through the large amount of mechs on the other side of the trench.

"This is Colonel Rizzit, those turrets are beginning to lay down some heavy fire.  All troopers, get to your positions and steer clear from that firepower.  One blast could take out half, or even all of your squad," said Rizzit

The squad fell into position at the left end of the trench.  Troopers poured out, coming at them quicker then the squad anticipated.  Squall set the rifle on full auto, letting loose the magazine and getting ready to reload it with another as the troopers dropped from the squads combined firepower.

"Keep suppressing them, we need to drive them back deep into that trench.  Dragoons are coming from the right side.  If we get them in the middle, then we can easily take them out from there," yelled Darr into the Com Unit, "And get that god damned E-web up"

Squall threw yet another grenade into the trench, but was returned with even more firepower as the troopers fled out of the trench to get away from the explosion.  Only a few were caught off guard, but those that had made it out of the trench came rushing at the squad, full on.

"Hold them off, supressing firepower!" yelled Squall

The red bolts were flying all over the battlefield.  Enemy troopers were dropping at every second.  Aeos and Rogue nearly had the E-web up, only a little bit longer.

Shots emerged from Leon and Aphamos's general direction.  Preditor was hanging back, plucking people off with his rifle as Leon and Aphamos layed on the heavy firepower.  Darr and Squall had now moved into a good position, directly at the end of the trench.  As Squall looked down the row, his jaw dropped.

"Had they estimated this much manpower?" said Squall

"I dont think so..." said Darr.

"E-web up, this is Rogue.  I'm going to light this place up"

Squall felt the E-web begin to fire.  The rapid fire really layed into the enemy troopers as Rogue let loose.  Aeos took a knee by his position, firing at anything coming towards them.  The two of them worked well as a team, they had to, without either part of what they were carrying, the E-web wouldn't have been assembled, and the Squad in horrible condition as far as firepower goes.

"Squall, keep firing.  We're going to hold this position until we can get a foothold here.  We need to get down into that trench!" yelled Darr

Bum bum bum.....its that song again!

Raiders

Rayden felt a jolt of adrenaline as he and hsi squadmates stormed the trench. The sound of blaster fire and artillery rang in his ears. Explosions were going off all around him. While most average people would be wetting themselves, Rayden found all the action exhilerating.

"Alright, get those rifles up.  They know we're here,"  Darr said over the Comlink. Rayden raised his rifle and sighted a group of troopers whose heads were above the Trench. Almost without thinking, Rayden spewed the superheated energy that were blaster bolts from his rifle into the trench. He could hear the screams as he bullseyed two enemy Stormtroopers in the face.

This was were Rayden belonged. In combat, bringing swift death to all those who opposed the Vast Empire. After two years, and numerous jobs, Rayden finally felt satisfaction. he felt content. he felt... purpose.

"This is Colonel Rizzit, those turrets are beginning to lay down some heavy fire.  All troopers, get to your positions and steer clear from that firepower.  One blast could take out half, or even all of your squad,"

Rayden pulled a frag grenade off of his belt and primed it before tossing it into the Trench. A moment later it exploded, launching a mangled Trooper and pieces of a turret into the air.

Rayden was a soldier. He didn't need to worry about politics, he didn't need to worry about anything, not even death. his only job and his only worry was to obey his orders, and be the best that he could be. Though the thought of death was scary, Rayden felt that their was no greater cause to die for then for the Vast Empire.

"Keep suppressing them, we need to drive them back deep into that trench.  Dragoons are coming from the right side.  If we get them in the middle, then we can easily take them out from there, and get that god damned E-web up"

Rayden fired into the large group of eney Troopers spilling out of the end of the Trench. He fell back, though he managed to take out one. He could sense Aphamos  behind him, firing and falling back as well.

Rayden primed his second grenade and threw it at the group of enemy Storm Troopers. They broke formation and scattered as the grenade exploded, engulfing two screaming troopers in flame.

"Had they estimated this much manpower?"

"I dont think so..."

"E-web up, this is Rogue.  I'm going to light this place up"

The large group of Troopers rushing at them were almost immediately cut down in a deadly shower of E-Web blaster bolts.

"Squall, keep firing.  We're going to hold this position until we can get a foothold here.  We need to get down into that trench!"

Raiders Squadron continued to hammer the Trench and what was left of the group that exited it until their were virtually no defenses left on their end.

Rogue quickly detached the generator from his back and began fiddling with the various switches and dials. Rogue looked over at Aeos and saw that she already got the gun piece up and was loading up the final pieces of targeting software, while Aeos loaded it up Rogue began attaching the blaster to the autocushion tripod and attaching the generator to the base of the tripod. Finally the E-web was ready and Rogue gave Aeos a hard tap onto her helmet as the sign to say commence destruction.

"E-web up, this is Rogue. I'm going to light this place up, baby."

Aeos opened fire into the trenches forcing soldiers to take cover. Rogue kept a watchful eye on the gauges and when they got near overheating level he would rotate the dial to allow the Gk3 cryocooler a chance to kick in. Rogue glanced up and saw grenades going off in the trenches and Rogue couldn't help but feel exposed finally Darr's voice came over the comm.

"Half of the first trench is clear, move the E-web into it and make sure the soldiers in the other trenches  stay in those trenches while we clear this one out."

"Roger that, Sir!"

Aeos and Rogue said in unison. Aeos continued firing until Rogue gave her another hard tap on the head signaling he was ready to dismantle and set up shop in the trenches. Aeos grabbed the tripod with the gun still attached and hoisted it up to her waist so that the gun leaned over her shoulder, she than ran to the trenches at full speed. Rogue quickly picked up the generator and followed suit, enemy soldiers fired at them a few shots coming very close and one of them glancing off Rogue's armor. Rogue looked at where they shot hit his shoulder, and saw a scorched mark but no other visible damage.

Rogue quickly plugged the generator back into the E-web and Aeos started her destruction. A body landed next to Rogueboy, who quickly tried to draw his frozen blade from it's scabbard once again to no avail. The body turned out to be Preditor and he switched from his rifle to his missile launcher, the enemy bunkers E-webs began unloading on the Raider squad who were forced to inch their way in the trenches laying death to any who opposed them. Preditor took careful aim at the bunker on the right and fired. The bunker was approximately fifty yards away and with all the snow was hardly visible. The rocket was a hit and blew open the bunker, but the E-web was still firing. Preditor let out a growl of anger and launched another rocket. This time Preditor missed the target, frustrated he launched another rocket which hit the target and caused the enemy E-web to overload and explode.

Raiders

Rayden tried to imagine his appearance. His suit was more then likely extremely dirty, covered in blood and black burn marks, and he wouldn't have been surprised if their were even a few cracks in it. He would have to remind himself to use his GLEEN armor polish later, that or just order a new suit.

Rayden allowed himself to relax a bit after that E-Web had been destroyed by Preditor. At the other parts of the trench, the battle was still raging ferociously. However, at the end were the Raiders were at, it was pretty calm.

"New Hostiles approaching from the west! Thrawn's forces are sending troops down the Trench!"

Rayden stared down the Trench to indeed see at least ten Stormtroopers heading toward them, rifles raised.

Damn, they must be trying to retake this position...

All of Raiders squad started firing as soon as the troopers were in range, except for Rouge and Aeos who were busy setting up the E-Web.

The combined fire of Raiders squad quickly cut down the enemy soldiers, who had no room due to the cramped trench they were in. Now, they just needed to wait for that damn E-Web to get assembled...

"Where the hell are those stalkers!" Draken shouted, trying hard to be heard over the loud whistle of the blizzard. He'd took cover behind one of the machines, which provided very little cover from the cold and snow, but was better than being out in the open. Arnaut looked up at him, sheltering his eyes from the snow, and shouted something unrecognizable before smiling. Kanderin wasn't in the mood to answer again, so he faked a laugh and looked back down towards the ground.

A few minutes later he looked over to where Snipes, Yillis, Leth and Tnepres were sat. Snipes was lost in conversation, but obviously keeping the others entertained. Kanderin, tired of sitting alone, got up and pushed his way through the blizzard to the faint shadows of the rest of the squad.137

"And so, i told the guy 'Hey buddy, if you dont like it you can..." Snipes cut off mid sentence to turn to Kanderin, who had just tripped into a pothole in the ground, hidden in the blizzard.

"Hey! No crashing the party" Tnepres laughed.

"A Drunk, a guy whos afraid to fly, blackout boy and Leth? Not what i'd call much of a party" Kanderin grinned, wiping snow away from his face.
"Yeah, wheres the music, the girls, and most improtantly, the booze?" He finished.

"Well i cant get the transmittor to play music,if you want girls wev'e got Leth, and the booze is mine, so back off" Snipes laughed back.

The laughter among the group quickly died off, and the condition of the situation suddenly sunk in.

"You know guys, if the 'Stalkers dont show up soon, we might have to go it alone" Yillis said, not looking up at the group.

Kanderin nodded, then looked back up to Yillis.
"Are you sure were even in the right place? Maybe the transmittors are broken and we got lost in the snow"

Yillis began to answer the point, before the roar of the Nightstalkers vehicles could be heard closing down on the Wraiths.

Squall creeped up the side of the trench, peeking his head out just enough took look down the line towards the other trenches.  It was but one second and fire was whizzing past his head.  He quickly ducked down to get out of the way, and he knew, the E-web was their only chance at suppressing the enemy and moving forward.

"Cover Aeos and Rogue's ass, they're holding their trenches well.  Poke your head up once and your dead," said Squall.

Squall's ears rang as the turret fire pierced through the air and slammed into the ice covered battlefield.  The three emplacements were beginning to become annoying.  The Dragoons would have surely taken some shots by now....

"This is Sam, Dragoons are under heavy firepower from those turret enplacements.  The enemy mechs are coming up from behind those trenches, missiles and cannon fire all together.  Raiders, keep it up.  We need to make a coalided attack at them to bring down their mech forces."

"This is Tin Can, we've taken down another walker.  Coming around for another run.  Dragoon forces, pin that group of walkers down and we'll blow by and give you some suppressing firepower," said Kami

Squall looked up to see the hovervan stream by, cannons blaring.  He knew only a couple of the members of Dragoons, he had been one once, but it had been far too long for him to remember any of his good old buddies, except for Gio of course.  Damn I miss that guy

Squall snapped back into the fight as he heard Rogue call over the com link.  "Bah, we've got the E-web up.  Unloading what we've got as long as I can.  Now would be a good time to get those frags ready and rush the next trench"

Squall crept up the slope of the trench one more, just barely letting enough of his A-280 stick out so that he could pluck off a couple of soliers.  Bolts whissed by, but failed to hit their designated targets.  Squall quickly let off bursts from the rifle, letting the enemies know that the squad had their foothold now, and they weren't going to let go of it.

"Darr Rann to Dragoons, think we could get a flyby on that second trench?" called out Darr to the Tin Can.

"Sure thing, coming around on your mark," said Kami over the com system.

Squall looked to the left and watched as the speeder bike squad of Eclipse whissed past the enemy lines.  The distraction was working, and now Eclipse could get in and take out the turrent emplacements, which would aid the assault on the facility greatly.

"Kami, now!" said Darr, rushing up over the trench.  Squall followed, and the attack worked just as they had planned.  The troopers on the left side of the next trench were dumbfounded as the firepower poured out of the flying mech, ripping their forces to shreads.  Squall could hear Rogue cursing as he let open the throttle on the E-web, shooting anything that came out of the trench.

"I want you to dive into that trench Raiders, and make no mistakes by letting those soldiers know that we are there.  Rogue, dismantle that E-web and Aeos, you help him," Darr said, in between pants of breaths as the two soldiers jumped a dove into the trench.  Squall unloaded his rifle, catching what was left inside the trench off guard.  Darr tossed a grenade in hopes to take out what was left.  Leon and Preditor were now in the trench, firing on anything that moved.

"Alright, keep up the firepower.  How's that E-web coming guys?" said Darr

"Nearly there.  Shit! Sniper fire from I dont know where!" yelled Rogue.  Within a couple of seconds, Aeos and Rogue were into the second trench, the E-web parts attached to both of them.

"I know damn well there are snipers out there, one of their shots nearly clipped by boot!" cried Rogue

"Your damn lucky two.  You guys have got to move faster with dismantiling and putting that E-web up.  We dont have much time as it is, assaulting these trenches.

Squall's eyes flashed as grenades dropped into the trench, and they weren't his own.

"MOVE!" yelled Squall, "Grenades!"

The grenades went off, sending shrapnel throughout the trench, one small piece slicing Squall's leg wide open.

"ARG!" cried Squall as he felt his flesh seperate.  He looked down to see blood flowing out of his leg, not to mention he'd been thrown back a couple of meters from the explosion.  Squall was now laying on the ground, blaster up, ready for anything to come into the trench.

Squall dug into his pack and brought out the large roll of gause rap and wrapped it around his leg, cutting off the flow of blood so that he would be able to move around, but his leg was starting to grow numb.

"Damnit, I've been hit," said Squall, "Shrapnel caught my right leg, its a bad one"

"Leon, Preditor, keep suppressing.  Aeos, Rogue, you know what to do," said Darr, coming over to Squall's position.

"This is Kami, coming around for another run on the 3rd trench, hoping to relieve you guys a bit," said Kami as Squall saw the flying mech van swoop over the battlefield.  Squall could hear cries of victory from those within the hovervan, knowing that they had done some sort of damage.

Darr took a knee beside Squall as Squall brought him self up to his arms.

"Can you walk?"

"Hell yea I can walk, I just cant feel anything in my leg," said Squall, grabbing another stimulant from his pack and jabbing it into his throat, injecting the fluid straight into his blood stream.

"I don't know how you can inject those there? Does that hurt?" said Darr

"Doesn't both me.  Lets get moving," said Squall

"Righto," replied Darr

Leon let more blaster bolts rip from his rifle, flying straight over the other trench, forcing the enemy's heads down. Preditor and Leon were doing a good job of keeping the enemy locked down, for now at least. He could tell Thrawn's forces were growing desperate, because every so often, a group of five or less would try and bum rush the trench that the Raiders occupied, and then only to be cut down by the massive array of fire that poured out of the Raiders rifles.

"Alright E-Webs up, they don't have a chance now," Rogueboy said over the intercom.

"Good, alright listen up everybody. On three were gonna rush the Trench while Rogue and Aeos provide cover fire for us. Everyone got that?" Darr asked. A series of clicks then followed his orders, signaling that everyone was ready. "Alright good, get ready, this is gonna be one hell of a fight."

Leon stuck his head over the trench, wait for the count down to begin. Rogue could already be heard ripping his E-Web, raining down hell on the enemy. Now all Leon had to do was wait. He could feel his adrenaline start to rush as Darr-Rann started the count down. This is going to be fun.

Aphamos stared at the backside of the trench, his entire body gone numb.  He sat and waited; he didn't know what he was waiting for, but he did know one thing.  He didn't want to fight.  Something seemed out of place?there was an odd feeling in side of him, and he knew that something was about to go wrong.  Something drastic would happen and change the entire course of the battle.  Well, get the hell up and do something about it.  He tried to get up to his feet, but he couldn't make it.  He looked over to his squad leader, not hearing a word that Darr-Rann was saying.

He closed his eyes once more, trying to calm himself down.  Damn deep breaths.  Never worked in the first place.  He smiled for a moment, the expression soon fading off of his face as he opened his eyes.  A trooper next to him fell to the ground, a hole straight through his head.  Aphamos turned his head, facing his squad once more.  They had all lined up at the front of the trench, weapons drawn up, and waiting for Darr's count.  What the hell?  They are all going to die.

"WAIT, WAIT!" yelled Aphamos, picking up his sniper rifle and running to his squad leader.  "They can't rush out there, every single one will get cut down by sniper fire."

"How was your beauty sleep?" asked Darr-Rann, another smile forming on Aphamos' face.

"We have to take out as many of those snipers as possible.  Once they are preoccupied and we have that e-web up, we lay down covering fire and then rush."  He waited for his squad leader's reply, ducking down to escape from a flurry of blaster bolts.

"Alri-," said Darr-Rann, his voice being cutoff by a grenade.  "NADE!  MOVE MOVE MOVE!"  Aphamos dove to the left, the explosive going off and sending shrapnel through the air.

Aphamos came to his feet, looking down at his leg.  His leg armor was stained red, blood oozing out of the wound.  He bent down, touching the cut with his finger and examining the lesion further.  After a few moments, he ripped off a piece of his cape and wrapped it around the wound.  Like that's going to do any good.  He stood up, grabbing another sniper rifle from the side of the trench and walking towards Squall.

"Squall," said Aphamos, throwing the rifle at the trooper.  He pointed toward the bunker in front of them and on the right, signaling to the trooper to start firing.  "You know what to do."  Aphamos looked over to Rogueboy and Aeos, both of them positioned at the e-web to the right.  "Are you done yet?"

"No, not yet," answered Rogueboy, Aeos hard at work setting up the turret.

"You have two minutes," said Aphamos, walking toward the left of the bunker now.  He aimed his sniper rifle up and at the enemy bunker in front of them.  He saw a sniper out in the open, aimed right at their bunker.  Aphamos aimed his rifle and fired, the shot hitting the enemy trooper straight through the head.  He ducked down back into the bunker and made his way for another position.

Moving his rifle up again, he aimed at another sniper, firing and hitting the trooper in the chest.  Finding another position, Aphamos decided to scan the battlefield instead.  "Squall, e-web on your side.  Take them out quickly," said Aphamos.

"Gotcha," replied Squall.

Finally the E-web was up. Rogue gave Aeos another hard tap on her head, Rogue grinned inside his helmet, he knew that Aeos hated it when he did that because it would make her ears ring. The E-web fire was the response to Rogueboy's friendly tap, Rogue mentally did the math; unknown amount of enemies, over three hundred bolts a minute. They didn't stand a chance. Rogue looked to his left.

Aphamos was there using his sniper rifle to pick off enemy snipers, his head barely over the side of the trench. Squall was right next to him making sure the enemy couldn't use their E-web. A grenade landed not a foot fro Rogueboy.

"Grenade!"

Rogue picked it up and threw it back at the enemy, it exploded mid air and sent splinters flying in every which direction. Rogue enjoyed his position, kneeling down in a trench with nothing exposed; Aeos had the tip of her helmet exposed to the elements, as well as enemy fire. The enemy set off a smoke grenade blocking the E-webs line of sight. Aeos could be heard over the comm.

"Darr we need to relocate the E-web."

Another grenade fell into the trench, Rogue picked it up and was about to throw it when it felt different in his hands he looked at it. All of a sudden a blinding white light exploded and Rogue couldn't see.

"Ahh! Poodoo I cant see!"

Rogue fell to the ground and tore off his helmet, the cold immediately came through. Rogue started rubbing his eyes trying to get the white out of it.

"I..I'm blind."

Rogue noticed the E-web stopped firing and heard Aeos in a similar situation. Rogue stood up and was tackled by something. Preditor's voice entered through Rogue's audio sensor.

"This one recommends you stay down, otherwise those blasters may remove the white knight's head."

Rogue relaxed himself.

"I can't see anything, it's like its permanently white."

"Would you rather it was permanently black?"

Rogue thought about that for a second and realized that Preditor had a point.
"How is Aeos doing?"

Aeos voice responded.

"I think I'm like two feet away from you, I'm sitting down as well."

Preditor got off of Rogue's chest.

"Just stay down this one will make sure no harm comes to you two."

Darr's voice came over the comm.

"Where the hell is that E-web?"

Rogue yelled back over the comm.

"Me and Aeos got hit by a flashbang sir. We can't see shit give us a couple of minutes."

"We don't have a couple of minutes. Preditor put the generator on auto and use it."

Riqimo heard the commotion about a bomb, but he had his own worries, nine Thrawn speeders were racing in, trying to take out the Eclipse squad.  Riqimo starting singing, "Nine little speeders tempting cruel fate..."

Jelly came on his com link, "What the heck was that for?"

Riqimo replied, "Just a little nursery rhyme I remember"

Just as Jag shot one speeder, causing it to smoke badly, that speeder turned away and retreated, leaving a large, black smoke trail behind.

Riqimo finished his line... "One got religion and then there were eight."

Jelly, pulling his swoop quickly to the right and kicking another off his bike, Riqimo continued his parody sing song rhyme, "Eight little speeders, jumping for heaven, one feel down and then there were seven."

Then a large explosion came, That must have been the first speeder

Next Riqimo pulled out a cable and threw one hook onto a speeder to his left, and glancing behind him, quickly pulled to the left, narrowly dodging some laser bolts.  The speeder attached to Riqimo was pulled as well and Riqimo released the cable.  The speeder that was behind Riqimo suddenly crashed into the hooked speeder and Riqimo just continued cheerfully singing over his com link, "Seven little speeders thinking thet were alive, Two tripped wires and then there were five..."

The turrets were starting to appear out of the mists, their towering appearence almost terrifying.  Not for long, we're gonna blow these babies to bits and pieces.

Seeing Jag starting to handle another, Riqimo continued, "Five little speeders...

Jag once out of danger spotted enemy speeders heading there way. He shouted to Typex3 not bothering with the comlink, "Take the controls!" Before he could respond Jag had taken out his blaster and started shooting at the lead speeder whilst Typex grabbed hold of the handle bars.

When Jag finally got a clear shot he managed to damage the speeder but before he could finish the job the speeder retreated and sped away through the snow. Only then did Jag register something over the open channel. He said, "Who the hell is sounding like a rancor!?"

Jag didn't hear anything then as his full attention was back on the battle at hand as Riqimo tool out another two. He then shouted to Typex, "Try and get alongside that one so i can jump on it!" Typex tried to protest but Jag merely cut him off. "Listen there's to much weight on this speeder to go fast enough so I'll 'borrow' that one from Thrawn." Typex seeing sense got alongside the thing.

The enemy trooper seeing this tried to pull away but Jag was too fast and jumped on to the enemy speeder struggling to throw each other off. But Jag got the upper hand when he managed to pull out the Thrawn trooper's blaster and shot him through the chest and throwing him off simultaeneously. When Jag regained control of the speeder he took out his pistol and flew up along side another Thrawn Imperial- thinking they werent enemies Jag merely nudged his speeder into the stump of a tree and left a burning wreckage.

Jag then realised that it was Riqimo who was singing and shouted over the com channel, "Riqimo! Why the hell are you singing that damn nursery rhyme!?"

"Five little speeders... Trying to even the score... One got company, and then there were four." Riqimo continued singing happily.

Turning his swoop near RK's he tried to blast another speeder with their combined blaster bolt fire... Jag took out another one, causing Riqimo to sing again, despite Jag's protests... "Four little speeders, not looking so cheery, one got pushed and then there were three."

Next Garet swooped over next to Riqimo and RK, aiding their firing, next thing that happened was the engine of that speeder to fall out, threatening to hit the three eclipse members behind it.  They all dodged it though and everyone focused on the last two speeders.

Also, Riqimo to continued getting on every one's nerves with yet another rhyme, "Three little speeders, none of them new, one lost its nuts and bolts and then there were two."

Riqimo called Jelly Bean over his com link, "Get the one on the left, he's close enough to use your vibro-blade soon."

Jelly Bean acknowledged, with a hint of uneagerness to hear Riqimo's next verse, which had already started, "Two little speeders, with running like huns..."

Looking over at Jelly Bean, he was the enemy speeder's driver recieve a gash across his stomach, quickly improvising his lines, he came up with, "...one got a stomach ache, and then there was one."

Motioning to jag, he moved in on the last, "One little speeder, with nowhere left to run..."

Raiders

"We don't have a couple of minutes. Preditor put the generator on auto and use it." Shouted Darr-Rann over the intercom. "Aphamos, how are those snipers coming along?"

"We still got one more left. But his location is unknown, we need something to draw him out," shouted Aphamos over the comm.

"Sir, I got an idea. It's suicidal, but it will work. I'm going to pop out of the trench, and start firing wildly. Hopefully it will draw one of the snipers out, and when he takes a shot at me, mark his location. Got it?" Leon said, already getting up from his position and prepping himself for the suicidal run he was going to do.

Darr-Rann took a moment to respond, not sure of whether he wanted to take this risk. Failure meant death, and that was one thing Darr-Rann did not want to be responsible for.
"It's up to you Leon. I don't want to put you're life in my hands. Do what ever you think is right."

"Alright well here goes nothing. On my mark, everyone got that?" A series of clicks marked that the squad was ready. "Alright...Three...Two..." Leon thought of his mom in that fracture of a second, and it gave him confidence, making him feel like he could do anything. "...One GO!" And with that Leon popped out of the trench and started firing madly at the opposing forces. He was screaming to, making it look as if he were a mad man. He then started strafing from left to right while still shooting, and then he saw it. A bright red flash of light narrowly missed his head, pounding into the snow behind him. Leon then ducked down, his back to the trench.

Leon took a moment to catch his breath, and try and relax himself. "Target marked, I got him now!" Aphamos shouted over the intercom. A moment later, the sound of Aphamos's rifle rung through the air, followed by a cheery roar from the Raiders squad.

"Damnit Corporal, I almost pissed myself. But at the same time, I was laughing my ass off, good job of scaring the enemy off, they probably think were mad!" Shouted Darr-Rann in a half relieved half pist off tone.

"Damnit, I wish I could have seen Leon running like that. I would have pissed myself out of laughter." Followed Rogueboy, a hint of disappointment could be heard in his voice.

Leon felt a sense of satisfaction and relief spread through him. For the first time, he did something that really contributed to his squad, and the mission. A grin spread across Leon's face, who was now shaking from the suicidal run he had just made. He slowly stood up, and peered over the trench next to where Darr-Rann was. The enemy seemed to be coming up with a plan, and more then ever, this was the best time for Raiders to make a move.

"Raiders, get ready, were going to bum rush there trench. On my mark, were going to run as fast as we can over there, and then stop about five meters away from there trench. I'm going to throw a frag, and you follow up. Everyone got it?" Silence followed his question, all the troopers just staring at Darr-Rann, and then one by one, they each nodded. "Alright good, Preditor, start spreading some cover fire. When Aeos and Rogueboy regain there vision, come join us in the trench. Alright get ready," said Darr-Rann raising his hand in a fist. "GO!"

And with that, Aphamos, Darr-Rann, Squall, and Leon were off dashing as fast they could to the opposing trench. They all had there heads low, so that Preditors fire wouldn't nail them in the back of the head. Leon could hear shouts coming from the enemy trench, and they new they were coming. Darr-Rann then stopped followed by the rest of the squad, and then launched a grenade into the trench. Leon and the others followed suit and watched as Thrawn Snowtroopers flew out of the ditch, followed by a couple of limbs.

Here we go...

Jag now having commandeered the speeder bike from Thrawn's forces, seeing Riqimo signal him towards the last speeder. When they were side-by-side within an inch from each other Jag said over the com channel, "Listen, get ahead of the last speeder! I have an idea." With that they both shot in front of the speeder when Jag shouted over the channel again, "Catch this!" He tossed over-one end of a garrote wire. "Pull it tight!"

Jag suddenly braked his speeder and Riqimo followed suit. When they passed the final Thrawn speeder Jag and Riqimo felt a small tug from the wire, then Riqimo looked ahead and noticed that the trooper on the final speeder bike was suddenly missing a head. He was amazed at how the wire had performed and then said, " One little speeder, with nowhere left to run. One lost it's head and then there were none."

When the others caught up Garet said, "I told you not to bring any personal equipment!" Jag kept quiet as he kept the wire back in his belt but then Garet said, "But even though you gotta get me some of that wire you used!"

Jag laughed at this and then the whole squad did. After that they managed to avoid most dangers but there was one point were a mech tried to stop them but it was too slow and the speeder bikes just carried on until they were in reach of their destination. They kept there speeder bikes in a place out of the way were they hopefully wouldnt be spotted until they could safely bring the explosives without too much risk. When they could clearly see the turrets they could also see a few guards. Jag being the point man counted ten guards in total and he took out his carbine to take aim on the first one but Garet stopped him.

"Wait until we get a little closer all right." Jag obeyed and re-holstered his weapon. When they were close enough that each member of the squad could each take one out- but still far enough away so as not to be easily spotted- took careful aim and on Garet's signal they all fired. With only two left before Jag's shot found his mark he had all ready aimed and fired at the second whilst Garet took out the last remaining guard.

Rogueboy started praying to Succellus in a vain attempt to try to get his eyesight back, it didn't work so he decided to relax and try to meditate which was pretty hard and Rogue was unable to do it. Rogue was pretty scared, there are few things worse than losing your eyesight in a battle apart from being permanently wounded.

Rogue felt around the trench trying to find out what happened to his blaster rifle, in all the excitement he dropped it. Rogue grabbed something that felt like it could be a blaster rifle he lifted it, it felt about the same weight. Preditor spoke softly.

"Why does the white knight grab the dead limb?"

Rogue tossed the arm away.

"Preditor help me find my blaster rifle."

"It is two feet to your left."

Rogue began crawling amongst fallen bodies a few of them cried out in pain as they got knees to their chests, groins, and other sensitive areas. Rogue reached over to where Preditor had directed him and grabbed&a helmet? A head rolled out of the helmet and even though Rogue couldn't see he knew he just got pranked. Preditor let out a hiss of laughter at Rogue's confusion.

"This one meant three feet."

"Preditor quit screwing around, last thing I want is to grab some dying guys wound."

"This one is serious this time."

Rogue couldn't do anything else but trust him and went to go pick up his rifle, this time Preditor was true to his word and Rogue slung it over his shoulder, it would be useless right now. Rogue could hear the continuous spray of the E-web as Preditor was trying to keep the enemy soldiers down while the rest of the squad rushed the third trench. Not that Rogueboy could see this, but from the chatter on the comlinks he could tell that they were under a lot of stress.

"Go!"

Rogue heard Darr cry out as they began charging, Rogue could hear the sound of a turret's lasers hitting the ground between the second trench and the third and could feel the dirt it kicked up as it landed on top of him. Rogue made another prayer to Succellus to protect the men and women in his squad and to make sure they return home safe.

Catching the wire that Jag threw at him, Riqimo suddenly realized what Jag wanted to do.  Watching the head come off was no pleasant, but it was necessary to stay alive Just on of the cold, grim horrors of war.

Finishing his nursury rhyme song, Riqimo sang, "One little speeder, with nowhere left to run. One lost it's head and then there were none."

The squad made it to their turret targets without much problems, as their swoops and Jag's speeder could easily out race anything that came their way.

After sniping any guards around the first turret with their stormtrooper carbines, they carefully made their way to the turret, the snow being thick in this area, impeding their progress.  turning to Jag, Riqimo said, are these explosives timed or command detonated?"

Jag replied "Both, they are timed, I can set the time easily enough."

Jelly Bean overhearing the conversation said, "Well make sure we are far away enough when that thing blows."

Riqimo added, "If you are timing them, give us some extra time, this snow is thick and we are gonna have to hurry pretty fast."

Riqimo and jag advanced towards the turret while the rest of the squad stayed back, guarding against any Thrawn force that may present itself too close.

Riqimo watched as Jag set the explosive device to explode at the signal sequence that Jag specified.  Jag commented, "That should be set, let's move"

Riqimo and Jag hustled through the snow, back to their squad.

"All set," Jag said.

"Okay on the speeders," Garet ordered, " We are running a little slower than we should be due to those speeders challenging us."

The squad raced off, but quickly slowed down when they realized Jag's military speeder was not as fast as their swoop bikes.

The two other towers stood like proud giants... "Get ride of your pride" Riqimo whispered to himself...

After Jag had set the command relay he set a ten minute time after he would send the command so that would leave the squad with enough time to get as far away as possible. When he and Riqimo got back to the rest of the squad they re-mounted there swoops- and in Jag's case speeder- and headed for the second turret. This time they didn't stop because from the heat vision in there helmets they could only see two. Jag in the Thrawn speeder borrowed Jelly Bean's blade and went ahead on his own whilst the squad slowly followed.

Because of Jag in his enemy speeder the two guards didnt shoot him. When he stopped the speeder they came over and when they noticed Jag's VE insignia they were tooclose and Jag killed the both of them with two clean swipes. When the rest of the squad came Jag went alone this time. Setting up the explosives can be difficult especially with military issue like these. One mistake woth the timing command pencils and there wouldnt be enough of him left to be put in a matchbox. When he carefully set the command sequence and a ten minute delay he gentle stuck itto the turret and backed away.

When he reached the rest of the squad Garet was starting to become agitated at the pace they were going. When they were all mounted again they took a quicker pace because it wouldnt be long before someone realised there were a few missing troopers. When they reached the final turret there was no one around. Jag wondering why ventured a guess at, "They must of known that we were coming on the left side so they sent the bulk of there forces to the one were there were nine guarding."

Garet just bluntly replied, "Doesnt matter, Riqimo and Jelly Bean. Go with Jag to set up the last of the explosives so we can get out of here." The three replied with a quick "Yes sir!" as they collected the last of the explosives to set then up.

When he was finished they walked over to the squad and Garet told everyone to take cover. "I can see a few heat sources coming from that direction..."

Raiders

Rifles blazing, Leon, Darr-Rann, Aphamos, and Squall jumped into the trench below. Leon pounded bolt after bolt into the opposing forces. And being on the far left, he had many to deal with. An enemy snowtrooper charged at Leon with a vibro-bayonet, who stepped aside and dodged it with ease. At the same time Leon stuck out his foot tripping the Thrawn soldier, and then pounded a bolt into the back of his head.

"Leon watch out!" shouted Squall who was closest to him. Leon ducked as soon as he heard Squalls voice, an enemy Vibro-blade slashing at where he had just been a moment before. In return, Leon quickly whipped out his Treppus, spun around on his heels, and stabbed the enemy Snowtrooper in the gut. Leon quickly pulled the blade out and then stabbed the trooper again in the neck. The enemy Snowtrooper slowly sank to his knees, the blood squirting out from both wounds, and then fell face forward.

For a second, Leon was shocked. The trench was littered with opposing forces bodies. The once pure white snow was now a crimson red. Leon brought his gloved hands up to his face, and saw that blood was all over them. It was everywhere, on his chest plate, his helm, and on his boots. Oblivious to what was around him, Leon continued to look at his bloodied hands.

A wounded enemy Snowtrooper was slowly crawling behind the shocked Leon. With every second he was getting closer. Slowly the trooper rose to his feet, not making a sound. Blood was pouring out of the troopers chest, but he did not care, he wanted revenge for what this bastard had done to his friends. He did not care that he was going to bleed and freeze to death; he just wanted to kill this man that stood before him. The trooper raised his knife above Leon's head, getting ready for the kill.

"I have you now..." whispered the trooper to Leon.

The trooper brought the knife down, a smile spreading across his face knowing that he was going to get his kill. But unfortunately, he wasn't. A huge claw had caught the troopers arm in mid-swing. The trooper slowly turned his face to the giant lizard that loomed above him. "This one thinks you are very stupid. But it doesn't matter what this one thinks, because you are now going to die," and with that Preditor broke the mans arm, and with a quick slice of his wrist, cut the mans throat with his gigantic claws.

Preditor then turned to Leon, who was oblivious to had what happened behind him. He tapped Leon on the shoulder, who suddenly whirled around, Vibro Blade in hand, and put the knife to Preditors throat. "Oh its you, sorry about that."

"This one saved your life. You now owe this one and the rest of the squad free drinks when we get back home. Now lets go help the rest of the White Knights."

"Yea, let's go..."

Darr-Rann sighted through his A280, fixing the scope around his target's torso. He squeezed the trigger once, letting off a short burst of heavy blaster fire. The enemy trooper took two hits to the chest, burning deep holes into his armor.

"Come on ladies, let's take these bastards down!" He yelled via comlink to his troops. He switched channel to Rogueboy. "How are you and Aeos doing?"

"I'm starting to get a bit of sight here - Damn, I hate flashbangs." Rogue's voice replied.

"Try and stay down until you can fight again - I dont want to see you getting shot because you couldn't see the enemy." The sergeant said. A pair of troopers fired at his position, forcing him to duck behind the trench. He sheated his rifle and drew out his blaster shotgun, pumping a charge of energy from the cell into the weapon.

"Hey, assholes!" He yelled across to the troops, activating his helm speaker. He fired, sending a spray of energy in their direction. The energy dispersed into a cloud before it reached them, causing it to burn across their armor. The two went down screaming, convulsing on the ground as their armor melted onto them.

"Another squad is on the way!" Aphamos yelled out over the squad  channel. Darr-Rann turned in the direction the Corporal had marked to see that indeed, more enemy troopers were making their way to their position.

Is there any end to these bastards?

Arnaut peered around, they'd been planet side for almost an hour and half, they should be in the facility already, he looked at his crono again, there was no way to know if the distraction had been set up or not, not in this white out, even with the filtering properties of their helmets it was hard to see more than a few meters. It also seemed their long range transmitter wasn't working, or the snow had disabled communications, however all their in helmet systems seemed to be functioning well enough, even intra squad communications. Arnaut sighed, he didn't like the idea of shooting off without Nightstalkers, however there was no way to know what had happened to them, and they couldn't delay the mission very much longer. With this in mind he climbed atop his swoop and powered it up.

However, then he heard the the Stalkers jet packs coming down, moments later they landed in the midst of the Wraiths. Kairo stepped forward.

"We couldn't contact you, decided that the snow storm must be interrupting your communications, those guard towers are down, the main force has Thrawns mostly engaged, theres a small squad of snowtroopers that seem to be moving around them in a flanking motion, we're going to go engage them, but as long as you keep near this cliff wall," Kairo pointed, "you should be fine."

The Nightstalkers disappeared then, into the snow, the rest the Wraiths got up and mounted their bikes, the weather and weight of their armor was already beginning to have a toll, they needed to get moving. It only took them a matter of seconds to get underway, all eager to be moving, this time tough they tore off into the snow, their only guide being the nav-computer on the swoop and the distant, almost imagined, sounds of fighting. The squad did as they were told and kept to the cliff wall, they kept the speeders at full throttle, occasionally having to dodge a stray bolt or two. They lost track of the wall eventually, but kept up the same speed, flying over one abandoned trench, the VE line, then keeping their swoops at full throttle they flew over a second, going almost full speed, where there were signs of fighting, however it was gone in a flash, and then the squad was forced to weave between large bolts as the turrets targeted them, the superior maneuverability of the speeder seemed to be paying off though. They were forced to turn though when they caught sight of another squad of snowtroopers coming their way, so they veered towards their original cliff wall, weaving in and out of the battle going on around them, trying to find a clear pathway to the facility itself, finally when they found the cliff wall they were able to fallow it around the turret emplacement and then to the one side of the facility. The gray building was covered mostly in white, however the smoking guard towers around it gave it away, those places the snow had been scorched away to show the buildings true gray color. The wraiths pulled their swoops into the small space between that building and the cliff wall, here they would remain hidden in the shadows and the snow, Snipes just hoped the squad would be able to find them again when it came time to leave.

Snipes parked his bike and dismounted, watching the others do the same, he grabbed the bag that held his armor and other weapons and carried it in one hand, in the other his Stormtrooper-II blaster was held. He waited for Arnaut to take the lead, then he fallowed, as did everyone else. They didn't even take the idea of going through the front door into consideration, they would never be allowed in, Wraiths found their breach of the wall, it was where at one point a guard tower had stood, that entire section of the wall was missing, the snow storm seemed to be keeping anyone from seeing it since even inside the wall there was no visibility.

Raiders

Damnit, another squad, these bastards never stop coming, thought Leon as he peered over the top of the trench. Something about these incoming Snowtroopers seemed different then all the other ones though. The way they carried themselves, the way they cradled there E-11's, and the way they ran. It was so familiar; in fact, it reminded Leon of an exact replica of the Raiders squad. These guys were definitely different from the rest, and Leon could already tell that this wasn't going to be a peace of cake.

For a second Leon felt a little intimidated, but then remembered the kind of blood thirsty bastard he could be. And plus, Raiders had a Barabel, they didn't. "Hey you guys don't let your guard down; these guys aren't like the rest of the sorry bastards we've fought."

"Yea Leon's right. Get ready, this fight is going to be like no other fight you've ever been through before," said Darr-Rann.

Leon brought his rifle up to firing position, carefully taking aim. As soon as he was about to squeeze a shot in, a hail of bolts rained down on there position, forcing them to duck back in the safety of the trench. "Damnit, they've gotten an E-Web up at the bunker. If we don't take that thing out were screwed!" Shouted Squall over the intercom.

"Preditor, think you can squeeze a shot off at the bunker?" Darr-Rann asked, looking over at the crouching reptilian.

"This one thinks it can," replied Preditor.

Leon watched with fascination at how fast this creature was. In two seconds, it had traveled to the left end of the trench. Preditor brought his Rocket Launcher up, peeped up over the side of the trench and took aim. Another distraction! Thought Leon. But before he had even though of this, he was already sticking out of the trench. Another one of his bad habits, doing before thinking. Aphamos, Squall and Darr-Rann caught on to, and started running around with there heads exposed. Leon heard the E-Web start ripping its laser fire again and quickly ducked down. The red bolts of death harmlessly flying over the trench.

An explosion was followed after the bolts, and Darr-Rann checked over the intercom to see if they had made a hit. "Preditor, did you get it?"

There was a long pause and just the noise of static could be heard. Just when they started to get anxious, Preditor's reptilian voice came over the intercom. "The E-Web is gone. This one is now behind the enemy. Permission to attack?"

Each one of the Raiders that were in the trench exchanged glances, impressed at how fast the lizard was. "Just give us a moment, were going to distract them, then you pluck them off one by one."

Rayden was the first to start ripping bolts at the enemy who was practically inside the trench. Leon then followed suit, and ripped his own blaster bolts at them. But these guys were fast, and smart. The one Leon had squeezed some shots at had dived to the left, and was now returning fire, causing Leon to duck and change his position. Leon sprinted a couple of meters to the left, and popped out again. The enemy trooper was not expecting him to use gorilla tactics, and was caught off guard by the hail of bolts that Leon had pounded into him. That's right! They think were going to use Storm Trooper tactics. Well to bad for them, Leon thought, a grin spreading across his face. "Hey you guys, there expecting us to use the same kind of tactics as them. Don't, its time to change our style of play, if you know what I mean..."

HSC WRAITH PRIDE!

Talstorin watched as the other squad faded into the distance.  Arnaut looked at the rest of the squad.  They had all readied their swoops, eagerly waiting at the edge of the cliff.  Arnaut grinned and nodded.  "When the Nightstalkers commence their battle, we'll immediately rush in.  All guards will be focused on their attackers leaving us room to enter.  There'll be a breach in the wall where we can enter, so quickly get to the building and get in as fast as possible.  We don't want anyone noticing."

The squads nodded and got ready, watching the specks in the distance.  Talstorin backed up, and leaned forward, his streamlined swoop was ready to burst into action.  They waited in silence though.  It wasn't until a while later that sounds of blasters could be heard.  The battle had started.  The squad immediately dashed down the slope, heading for their goal.  Talstorin let his brakes go, the swoop instantly roared and zipped headlong.  Catching up with the rest of the squad quickly, Talstorin ducked down to avoid a blaster shot.  Soon after, he was ahead of the squad again, going at a dangerous speed.  The snow and armor had tested his driving abilities however, the added weight made him unsteady as he steered.  Occasionally he'd almost fall from the weight, re-adjusting his position barely in time.

It didn't take long to get to the building.  Talstorin hopped off, slamming the brakes right before he did.  He fell in a crouch in the snow, the bike tipping over as if about to roll down the rest of the way, though it didn't.  The snow had cushioned it.  Talstorin hid it under some snow, and stood as he watched the rest of the squad descent down.  They all hopped off, hiding their swoops and began to look for the breach.  It wasn't an obvious thing, the snow and blizzard had hid it mostly from view.  Finally, Snipes yelled to the rest of the squad.  He had found it.  The squad rushed to Snipes, who was standing next to a entrance.

The squad crawled in, Arnaut going in last.  They had made it in, unseen.  "Okay," said the squad leader.  "There are rooms around here, I'm assuming temporary rooms for in transit troops.  Just get changed there, hide you're armor and let's quickly move out."    The squad responded with nods and split up.  Each trooper went into a room, trying to change into their storm commando armor as quickly as possible.

Talstorin got in his armor, grabbing his blasters and putting them on his belt.  He attached his Verdicator scanner to his right arm, grabbing his carbine after.  He ran out of the room, holding his snowtrooper armor in one hand.  Half of the squad was already out.  "Place your armor in this container, we'll keep it in the trash so now one will check.  They'll be too busy to empty the trash."  The squad listened to Arnaut, placing their armor into the container.  Finally, the other half of the squad came back out as well.  They dumped their armor in.  Yillis closed the container and went into another room to hide it.

A sound was heard suddenly.  The squad stopped what they were doing abruptly and perked their heads up.  Everyone looked around.  It was the sound of echoing footsteps.  Yillis stepped out, carbine ready.  "Did everyone hear that?" he asked.  The entire squad nodded and looked around, ready to shoot the nearest moving object.

HSC WRAITH PRIDE!

Snipes looked on as a squad of snowtroopers rounded a corner, he stepped forward and held up a fist. The snowtroopers came to a halt, it took a second for his squad to get it, luckily Arnaut got it first and stepped forward, towards the opposing snowtroopers.

"What are you doing here?" Arnaut commanded, before the enemy snowtroopers truly realized what was happening.

"We were sent to guard this area, we found a breach in the forward wall, who are you, what company are you with?"

"We're Vaynus', we've got this area under control, they need you at the lines."

"You're kidding right, how do we know. . ." He never got a chance to finish, the Wraiths, fed up with the way the conversation was going, cut down the slower snowtroopers in a matter of seconds.

"That works too." Arnaut said, before motioning the rest of them over to help the clean up of the bodies.

It took only a minute, the wraiths had done this before, many times, they were getting good at it. They all went into one of the room, then Snipes pulled the control panel off and removed every circuit board, then put the panel back on.

"Alright, tunnels should be this way, sure, looks like a bunch of buildings, but what would a research facility be without a network of laboratories and tunnels running underground, we should only need to go one level down, then find our way across to the hanger bay, disable everything and high tail it out of here." They moved as Arnaut talked, on the secure squad channel.

Just another bend in the hall and they came to the turbo lift, it was a roomy lift, no doubt designed for the quick transport of troops from this barracks to underground. The squad quickly got in and hit the button, they lined up like a proper group of soldiers, just fallowing orders. This way when they did finally exit the turbo lift none of them around payed any heed, if anything they looked a bit frightened. They marched, as was proper for a strictly disciplined squad (although oddly enough Wraith was anything but). The march through the facility was mostly boring, Snipes was still cold, and unhappy, and hated marching, hell, he even hated wearing the armor, but it was keeping him a little warmer. On his Heads Up Display he could see the perfect little green figures in front of and behind him, representing his squad mates. It was one of the few things he liked about the armor. Of course the itch to be out of it would never cease, just as his hip felt all too light without the great weight of his shotgun on it. He shook these thoughts from his head, he needed to keep focused, the cold was distracting him, he hated it, but he tried to remember he was in enemy territory, the landscape was certainly foreign enough. Tunnels of white, carved into the ice, it certainly wasn't warm here, Snipes guessed that the thick layers of ice and snow made building a solid foundation next to impossible, so snow tunnels would have to do.

Alan flew unsteadily.  His flight was shakier than regular, the heavy armor was taking a toll on his ability.  To add to that, the heavy snow and blizzard wasn't helping.  He gripped his blaster tightly, flying in position.  They were in a triangular formation, Kairo in front, himself in the right corner.  Alan had noticed the squad was flying slower than usual, he wasn't the only one being hindered by the weather and armor apparently.  "Get ready, we're getting in range of the battle site," barked Kairo.  The squad descended a bit, heading for the unsuspecting snowtroopers below.  Alan loved this part, getting the first strike was the best.  The squad headed down, swooping almost, forming into an arrowhead formation.

_______

The snowtrooper hummed to himself.  Another dull day in his job was what it seemed like.  Enlisting in Thrawns army wasn't as fun as he had imagined back in the day.  It usually meant standing next to a building for a half of a day, pointlessly looking around, standing guard in case some random army invades.  Why he signed up for this job was beyond him.  He regretted every minute of it.  The trooper looked around, his heavy armor caused him to move rigidly.  The man began to whistle, toying around with his blaster.  Where were they?  He was informed a certain army would land on Illium today.  He had gotten all excited about it too. And yet, he had stood there for about 12 hours already and no one came.

The trooper sat down.  He gave up.  They would never come.  It was back to boring old life again.  He sighed, the boredom wasn't worth the pay he got.  It was so unbearable, it made him want to carve out his eyes and eat them.  Glaring down at the floor, he felt him brain numb over.  It was too much.  The boredom, the cold, the uneventful droning routines, he couldn't take them anymore.  He stood up, facing upwards at the sky.  He screamed.  "MAKE IT STOP!!!! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! FREE ME FROM THIS BORING LIFE!"

His prayers were answered.  He heard a low hum and stopped talking.  He squinted, looking straight ahead.  Nothing.  What was that sound?  Perhaps excitement came.  He smiled.  And was then shot down by a hail of laser bursts.

Kairo grinned as he saw the snow trooper fall face first.  "Let's get this mission started, Nighstalkers!"  The squad cheered, readying as they saw the rows of snowtroopers rush at them.  They were vengeful, ready to pay back for the death of their fellow soldier.  The Nightstalkers stood there, ready as ever.  Alan kicked the dead body out of the way.  The helmet rolled off.  The dead trooper had his eyes closed, his mouth shaped in a smile.  That was the Vast Empire.  Making sure people could die in happiness.  One scum after another.

"Give Pred cover fire.  For God sakes, get up off your arse and start firing!" yelled Aphamos at a stormtrooper who was standing in the middle of the trench with no idea what to do.  Aphamos picked up an A-280 blaster rifle and threw it at the trooper's chest.  "Here, take that," he said while taking the trooper by the arm and moving him to the front of the trench, "and shoot that way.  No, you can't run away."

Goddam, I can't believe they pass off some of these people as troopers, Aphamos thought to himself, making his way to his squad leader.  "What's with the pale face?" he asked sarcastically, trying to add some humor to the aura or gore that surrounded.  He turned and peeked outside of the trench, a group of stormtroopers making their way to the Raiders' current position.  "Well, seeing as how none of them have wet themselves since they started, and none of them have tripped yet, I'm guessing that these guys are the real deal.  Am I right?"

Darr-Rann nodded, looking back out above the trench.  "Preditor is behind them, and we need to keep their attention until he gets within range."  Aphamos nodded, following his squad leader through the trench until they reached the rest of the squad.  "Now this means one of two things.  Either we go in right now and take them hand to hand, we wait and give Preditor covering fire, then we charge, or we just stay here and wait."  Aphamos looked to the battlefield once more, plotting the enemies' position inside of his head and analyzing the choices that had just been presented to him.

"Well, I think we should wait it out.  But Jackie here begs to differ," said Aphamos, motioning to the sniper rifle on his back.  "I say we go with option B Darr, starting out with a little bit of fire."  Aphamos bent down and rolled up some snow, packing it into a tight ball.  He pulled a grenade off of his belt and walked to the front of the trench, barely sticking his head out to view the enemy.  He threw the snowball to the right of the approaching stormtroopers, at the same time throwing the grenade to the right of them.  Which one do you want more?  He looked on as the troopers, acting as a whole squad, made a move for cover, away from the real grenade.

"Well, they passed the test," said Aphamos, chuckling to himself.  "An easy test, albeit, but one that could prove to be difficult in a place like this."  Alright, plan B it is then.  Squall, you do your rifle thing, Darr, the rest is-" His words were cutoff by the sight of four small objects flying through the air and landing in their trench.  Aphamos stared at them for a moment, finally getting control of himself and jumping to the left, away from the nearest explosive.  The ground shook as the grenades detonated, temporarily deafening the troopers and injuring a few that were caught in the midst of the explosions.

A place like this.  A frozen-over hell.

(About: Nightstalkers. By: Wraith.)
HSC WRAITH PRIDE!

Kairo let loose a few blasts on the oncoming enemy, as did the rest of his squad, killing five or six enemy troopers, then Kairo gave the signal, to move, the squad turned and activated their packs, pulling quickly away from the on coming troopers, instead they moved to the side, and forward, they split into two teams and went for different guard towers.

Kairos team reached their guard tower, Alan placed an explosive on one of the transpera-steel windows, then the whole group hit the ground and got out of the way before detonating. The explosion was loud, and debris reached almost out to this fire team of the Nightstalkers, tumbling down, however there wasn't time to consider this, they moved to the next one on foot. Now the enemy would be looking for an airborne enemy.

They weren't under any fire, they were too close to the wall and the blizzard kept them masked from sight, so they set a couple more charges, Kairo on the lookout for enemies coming to investigate the first explosion. Several seconds passed as Alan rigged this new charge up, this one had to be more explosive than the last, this one had to bring the whole tower down. So Alan was rigging charges up all around the bottom of the thing and linking them together, Kairo imagined the snowtrooper armor made this delicate work a little more difficult than usual. So he kept his eyes out for an enemy.

And then he saw one. Or rather a great many 'ones' moving towards them from the enemy line, to the other side Kantar gave a yell, telling him an enemy was approaching from the side of the main gate.

"Alan, hurry it up."

"Just about there boss."

"Well hurry up."

"Just a sec, Just a sec. . .and. . .done!"

Kairo yelled the command to take off as he let loose a burst of blaster fire in the direction of the approaching troops. The 'stalkers moved away from the oncoming squads, back towards the first tower they exploded. There they set down and waited for the oncoming troopers to near the tower. He could just barely see it through the snow, finally a shadow came into his sight, he could just barely see them, however, they seemed to see the Nightstalkers, they let loose an uncoordinated barrage of fire. Apparently they couldn't see them that well, or they were bluffing.

"Oh, just hit the button." Kairo said, growing impatient with the blaster fire flying over his head.

Alan obliged, and another tower fell to the ground with a resounding boom and crash.

Raiders

"Holy shit!" Screamed Leon to no one in particular as he dived to the left. A second later, a grenade exploded behind him, sending up a plume of snow, and making it even harder to see. "So these bastards wanna start throwing explosives now? I'll show them who the hell there dealing with," said Leon to himself, angry at the fact that he had almost been killed two times in one day. Leon appeared over the trench again, but this time with to frag grenades. Lets see those bastards dodge this, thought Leon as he tossed one grenade to the left of the squad and one to the right of the squad.

They were easy targets now, scrambling away from the explosives that had been launched at them. Leon let his rifle spew out blaster fire, followed by the rest of the squad, and to there satisfaction, they took out two more troopers. That meant there were only nine left. A crack sounded through the air, and Leon watched another one of the Thrawn troopers fall to the ground. "Nice shot Squall!" shouted Leon over the intercom.

But Squall didn't respond to busy with trying to get a good shot at the enemy. But now Raiders were the one's being suppressed. These guys were aggressive, and were definitely not going down without a fight.

"Preditor, mind giving us a hand here?" asked Darr-Rann with a hint of aggravation in his voice. There was a pause, and then a dreadful sound rang through the air. It was a blood curdling scream that was cut short a second later. Preditor had found his target. Leon and the rest of the squad new that Preditor was wide in the open now, and his life rested in there hands.

"Lay down some cover fire now!" screamed Darr-Rann over the intercom.

The squad rained down hell on the enemy, Preditor diving into the snow, so his squad mate's fire wouldn't cut him down. In seconds, the rest of the enemy squad had been cut down, there corpses littering the terrain ahead of them. "Alright, Preditor get back in here, we gotta come up with a plan to take that next trench, this is going to be tough."

The squad walked forward, trudging along the seemingly never-ending tunnel.  The icyness was beginning to cause the squad members to wish they hadn't changed so early.  Talstorin found his fingers numb from the cold.  He had to constantly rub them together.  Other squad members were doing the same, he noted.  Suddenly, Yoder stopped.  "Are we going the right way?"

Arnaut turned around, raising a brow.  "Of course we are.  Why wouldn't we be?"

Yoder looked back, concerned.  "We took a fork a while ago and so far we've reached nothing."

Arnaut took a second to think.  "Fork? What fork?"

Yoder answered, "You mean you didn't see it?  Didn't anyone else?"  The squad shook their heads.  Leth walked up to Yoder.  "I think you're just being your delusional self."  Yoder backed away, "NO! I'm sure of it."  He pushed Leth away, obviously concerned.  "We have to go back to check."

Yillis butted in.  "No you idiot.  It'll take too much time."  Yoder gave him a cold stare.

"So you'd rather walk on not knowing if we went the right way?  Don't be so ignorant!"

Yillis's temper flared.  "What did you say?" began the ASL as he stepped forward.  Luckily, Arnaut intercepted.

"Guys, calm down, I have a map.  We can clear this up in a second."  Resourcefully, Arnaut reached for his datapad, turning it on.  He then browsed through the menu, loading up a telegraph of a map.

((For the map, refer to squad topic))

"We are here," began Arnaut, pointing in the middle of the gray path.  "We landed on the mountain edge, which would be here."  Arnaut pointed to the mountains, forming a green dot on the screen.  "Nightstalkers landed besides us."  He pointed besides the green dot, forming a purple dot.  "They managed to distract the troops and take out the guard tower, which toppled and took out the middle turret."  He crossed out a guard tower and a turret.  "So we went to the barracks and took the underground tunnel."  The squad stared at the hologram.  There was a fork indeed.  But how did they miss it?

Yoder looked up.  "Told ya."  The squad looked at each other, confused.  Arnaut traced the paths.

"We're going the wrong way, the facility is below the command.  Let's head back."  Arnaut motioned the squad back and started walking.  The squad backtracked, walking silently.  They forgotten their discomfort and just walked back, not doing anything else.  The rubbing of hands, complaining and the occasional whistling had ceased.  They reached the end the point where the fork should have been.  The only problem was, there was no fork anymore.  The hole had been sealed off with heavy snow, obviously moved by troopers.

"How'd that get there?" asked Draken, touching the snow.  It was solid and packed.  No way to pushing right through.  Arnaut didn't seem to care.

"It's been holed up.  No big problem."  He looked on his map.  They were besides the dropship hanger.  "We'll do the hanger objective first then take the long way around the second barracks to the research, that's all.  Wraiths, head out."  With that, the squad started moving again.  Little did they know they had somehow been found out and they were marching to a trap.

*** Wraith Squad ***

Arnaut sighed, he thought he'd have to use his brain to figure out why they'd missed the turn, come up with some amazingly complex theory involving multiple schools of mathematics, science, and the arts. But no, it was just snow, just more snow. All I have to do is plant an explosive and back away. Hell, it'd be even easier if someone had dragged along a flamethrower. Oh well. . .

Leth, unlike the rest of his comrades, was perfectly comfortable, standing alone while everyone else was talking. He'd dragged a thinsuit along with him, and it was paying off now, keeping him at just the right temperature under his Storm Commando armor, painted up with light gray tiger stipes for this mission. He had his Thunderer pistol at his hip, tucked into a new black holster, along with a sheathed knife across his chest, and a carbine cradled in his arms. Maybe I should have worn all of this under an extra large suit of Snowtrooper armor. I'd look pretty ridiculous if I were that big-

Snipes smacked Leth on the back of his head. "What the hell are you doing just staring off into space, we're on a mission, pay attention!"

"Uhh. . . Snipes, are you feeling alright? You seem serious."

"Sorry about that, I'm feeling a bit tense, I don't know why."

"Oh well, don't let it get to your head, the last thing we need is a repeat of the last mission."

The rest of the squad fell silent and shuddered at the mention of their last assignment, horrific images from that accursed facility pouring into their minds. That mission was over now though, and they'd all made it back relatively intact, aside from Leth sprinting headfirst into a durasteel pipe and cracking his skull. He showed the pipe what for however, as that same impact had cracked the pipe and nearly shattered it. Leth was building one hell of a battle scar collection, his face showing quite a bit of wear and tear, but biggest of all was the replacement robotic arm since the run-in with the Starweirds.

He glanced over and saw Yoder making an attempt at entertaining Talstorin. "And this is where I nicked myself shav- er. . . I mean where that guy slashed me with a vibroblade-" said Yoder while pointing to a barely visible mark on the left side of his face.

Arnaut just finished setting the charge at the base of the snow pile, ready to vaporize the makeshift barrier. He backed away and motioned for the squad to do the same. Well, here goes nothing. He jammed his thumb down on the detonator and the snow turned to steam in a sudden burst of scorching fire.

The squad moved forward.

Wiping his turret inside scope, Urakai peeked through to Kami's destination, seeing giant legs stomping up the snow, followed by red flashes off in the distance.

"Oh that's handy" Urakai mocked the GX-12, realizing his blasters had overheated. "Come on, come on!" He whispered impatiently as the hover van slowed down, giving Kami more time to dodge an array of blaster fire from another AT-ST that changed it's stance to a defensive position. Seeing a clear shot, Urakai opened fire along with Kael, drawing the heavy blaster barrels almost locked position on the shifting Repulsortank.

"Watch out!" Urakai screamed, seeing two large red blasts streaming towards the motionless hover van.

With a quick slide on the joystick, Kami evaded the two blasts, letting them explode into the ice while yelling, "I'm not as untrained as that, rookie".

Indeed, she was talented in speed and trickery, letting the AT-ST pilots think that they were trapped until Kami would flick her wrist. Urakai gained trust in her thinking and soon had his own plans of what he would do when Kami evaded the next set of blasts. Soon Urakai began blasting up the windows of the AT-ST, causing much frustration as all they could see was sparks and red explosions. Finally the Repulsortank launched a rocket that lit the AT-ST like a candle before the fireworks.

"Yeah!" the four yelled as the van comlink hissed to life.

"Alright, an AT-ST is causing trouble a couple of hundred metres away at your 9 o clock." suggested Zafo, who took his time connecting.

"Ok we're on it, better let us go first." Kami responded, clicking up gears and zooming away.

Kael switched to his scope to try and see ahead but sat back with a sigh at the endless white wind. Kami twitched an eye on the ice ahead and, quicker than any one of them had seen before, she spun the hover van and, out of the fog of the blizzard, a pair of moving mechanical legs zoomed straight past as they spun out. Hitting the brakes, Kami made the van strafe around, giving the stunned troopers a chance to fire but all that came out of the barrels was steam.

"You guys want those barrels to freeze?! Shoot!" Kami roared as their advantage of surprise was almost lost.

All opened fire with straight shots except Urakai who looked crazily at Kami, not concentrating on his accuracy. Shaking his head in amazement he joined the firing as the repulsortanks came into view with their blasters lighting up the white area. A flicker of white movement and blinking gear caught Sayah's eyes as the AT-ST, stunned, fired wildly.

Realising what he was seeing, Sayah yelled, "We got a demolition squad around here! I'm sure!"

Each person shifted their gaze to him in surprise, Kami almost letting the hover van meet a pair of shiny blasts.

"Zaf, Sam! We got a dem squad in the area, be careful, we will try and protect you guys but we can't do that and draw fire!" Kami yelled into the comlink as the rest of the troopers peered out of the port side views.

"Ok, roger that, we will keep an eye out, tell us if you see them on us." The comlink whizzed after crackling to out.

Urakai and Kael soon saw white movements, "Wait, ok I see them! Zafo, they are strapping explosives on your tank!"
