Snipes swung himself into the cockpit of the shuttle, quickly he pulled up the armament read-out, no missiles. Snipes hopped down again and jogged through the hanger to the next ship, a sentinel class landing shuttle. Snipes managed again to climb to the top and slice his way in through the emergency hatch, once inside it only took him a second to spring from the ante-chamber into the cockpit.

However Snipes reeled backwards and twisted behind the bulkhead when he saw the engineer in there, almost in perfect choreography with Snipes twist behind cover, a volley of five blaster bolts told him it had been a good idea. In response Snipes ducked quickly around the bulkhead and tightly squeezed the trigger of his own blaster, sending a red spray into the poor idiots midsection. Thankfully the helmet filtered out the smell of charred flesh, Snipes own nose had never managed to do it, one reason he like his shotgun.

Not to be delayed by murder, Snipes got moving again, knowing he was in a hurry, hanger bays were usually very busy places, very busy. Accessing the computer, he found that both concussion missile tubes were loaded. Gleefully Snipes managed to rig up the missiles to fire on a timer. Snipes took a second to decide how long to set it, he realized he had better call and ask.

"Arnaut," Snipes said, activating his comm, "twenty minutes sound good enough?"

"Do thirty on these, we want them all to go off half an hour from now, so set the later ones accordingly"

"Got it, the rest of you hear that? We've got half an hour, more than enough time."

A volley of affirmatives came from the rest of the squad. Snipes nodded in response to his own reply, then got into the inner workings of the computer again, this time he set it to go off corresponding with a time on it's own chrono. Snipes also took the time to synchronize his chrono and the ships. Then, giving the body another kick, Snipes hopped out.

Moving among the rest of the ships Snipes found only a couple more with missiles, however these were not difficult to jury rig together on a timer after having done the first one. It took him only a matter of seven minutes to complete, there he rendezvoused with Arnaut and Leth at their entrance point. Another minute later Yillis, Yoder and Tnepres came running their way. Seeing all this happen, Draken subsequently hopped off of his perch. Once the squad was reassembled they wasted no time running back into the tunnels, it was going to be a race against time, if they were quick and didn't get held up by any hostiles they would make it out fine, with twenty-one minutes left.

Because of  this rush to get out they failed to hear the snowtroopers coming down a corridor until they popped out and started firing on the black armored Wraiths. Snipes fallowed suit with the rest of the squad when they hit the ground, he lifted his blaster up and released his own volley of shots, driving the snowtroopers back down their own corridor, Snipes was eager to fallow, eager to kill them all, but Arnaut signaled them back, Leth and Yoder laid down covering fire, then retreated as Draken and Snipes pummeled the snowtroopers position, both squad seemed to be afraid of using a grenade, not wanting to risk a cave in. So they retreated back into the hanger. Once inside they took defensive positions, hoping to draw the snowtroopers into the open. The this end Tnepres was set with his verdicator scanner, ordered to give the signal when the snowtroopers were halfway to the Wraiths. Snipes knew the Wraiths could have charged their position, but the snowtroopers would have had the advantage there, this was a better plan, but Snipe didn't like being in a hanger that may explode with him in it, and he knew that at least with the ships he'd worked with it would take more than nineteen minutes to undo. He'd made damn sure of that.

"Rogue, kill the guy and make it hasty," muttered Aeos slightly aghast noticing the struggle between the two opponents. The veteran soldier grunted through the Comm-Link as he snapped the losing opponents neck.
"For a sergeant you don't seem much into killing people." muttered Rogue as he squinted his eyes to see if his sight was improving.
Squall chuckled at Rogue's comment.
"Okey, lets move,"
Rogue managed to recognize the silhouette of the generator and hauled it over his shoulder.

"We are not moving fast enough," muttered Aeos slightly worried while Squall's finger triggered the A-280 multiple times around them when another wave of enemy troopers attacked. They were still stuck in the same trench, and more soldiers appeared from the snowy fog targeting them.
Aeos and Rogue simultaneously had the E-Web set up and within what seemed like seconds.

The next actions passed in a haze. Rogue's sprained ankle were something of the past as he ripped loose on the enemy. Within moments the waves stopped. While Aeos and Rogue managed to strap the equipment back on their backs, Squall was meanwhile cautiously inspecting the grounds up ahead. When it was deemed safe, the threesome made another run for what seemed like the last trench.

"Rogue, how's your sight?" asked Aeos swinging the Web into aim.
Rogue grunted again and squinted his eyes.
"Nothing to worry about, seeing shadows in  the shadowy thingies. Now focus up ahead."
He rapped his knuckles across her helmet out of habit earning another chuckle from Squall and an unseen glare from Aeos.

The clear space above their heads served as a small relieve for the three troopers as they set up the E-Web for what they hoped was the last trench. Squall peaked from around the trench, this small action only triggered another round of blaster-bolts and a new wave of stormtroopers.

Talstorin kneeled down, waiting for the snowtroopers to burst in.  "Anytime now," he said, speaking under his breath.  The lights suddenly dimmed, causing Talstorin to look back confused.  Arnaut had found the light switch.  The lights completely shut off.  Now Wraiths had the advantage, they blended in with the darkness perfectly whereas the trooper's white armor stood out.  For safe measures, Talstorin turned on his heat vision, creeping closer until he saw the troopers.  They looked around, as if confused.  Their squad had split up into twos, apparently fanned out to find the Wraiths among the darkness.  Now divided and weakened, as well as vulnerable, half of the troopers walked towards the hiding squad.  Talstorin turned around and gave the signal.

Instead of answering with a burst of gunfire, the squad only waited more.  Arnaut crept closer, waiting for the five troopers to draw even closer.  As the last of them walked into the corner where the squad was hiding, Arnaut grabbed the last one, holding a knife to his neck.  Talstorin crept to the other four troopers, hiding behind ships.  It was lucky he had gotten quite good at the silent walking thing.

Unfortunatly, the trooper was well trained, willing to sacrifice himself for the good of the squad.  The trooper yelled loudly before a knife dug into the crack between the helmet and the armor, another knife breaking the helmet from the back.  The trooper fell lifelessly to the floor, the rest of squad turning around.  Snipes checked the time.  10 more minutes.  The remaining eight were still divided.  The four in the front answered quickly with gunfire, aiming straight at Arnaut.  The squad leader ducked, a bolt catching the backside of his armor, take out some of the shell.  The Wraiths in hiding retaliated.  Snipes got a shot into one of the troopers in the back of the head.  The remaining three adjusted themselves.  They were now flanked, attacked from both sides.  The other four came running in, attempting to aid their squad mates.  Talstorin brought out a leg , tripping the first one.  He fell with a great thump, the other three stopping in shock.  Talstorin took his chance, retreating back behind ships, narrowly avoiding the gunfire that followed seconds later.  The lasers hit the ship, burning holes into some.

Snipes looked back at the time.  5 minutes.  Rats, what was taking so long?  The three troopers had been killed off minutes before.  They were heavily outnumbered and shocked.  It was a one sided battle.  Now they had four more to worry about.  These troopers weren't amateurs, Snipes gave them that.  Well organized and adaptive.  The troopers were now hiding among the ships as well now.  It was one big hide and seek game.  The squad went together, looked around closely.  Yoder began to get fed up.  "Show yourselves!  Stupid cowards!"  He jumped up on a ship, instantly being shot at by blaster fire.  Had Yillis not pulled him down, Yoder would have probably been roasted.  At least they knew where the troopers location was now.

Winding around, Wraiths split into two, one group on each choke point around the general location of the troopers.  Arnaut, Snipes and Leth found the troopers walking right into them, separating as they ran from shots.  Talstorin, Yoder, Draken and Yillis popped up in back, shooting at the troopers.  Catching one right in the back, the group killed one instantly.  From there the group ran as well, avoiding sprays of shots.  Leth crawled up on top of a ship shooting another trooper in the head.  Two down, two to go.

They lost the location now, the two had hidden in a different place.  The squad ended up each crawling on top a ship, desperate to get out on time.  The two were found easily.  They turned to face Leth, aiming when one was caught in the chest by a shot made by Yillis, the other was shot twice in the shoulder and then the neck by Draken.  The two bodies fell lifelessly.  Snipes checked the time.  He cursed and yelled.  "Bombs are going to blow!  Take cover, fall to ground."

The squad did just that.  Nothing came.  They stayed on the ground  for minutes.  Finally they got out from hiding.  "Heh, miscalculation?"  Snipes said, relieved.  A large boom came, the troopers fell to the floor immediately, hiding.  Several other booms came, shaking the ground.  The sound was deafening.  At last it ended.  The squad got out again.  Luckily, they were above ground.  The lower level was destroyed, part of the upper platform had fallen onto it.  Ships were everywhere, in flames or in pieces.  The exits were sealed by debris.  Arnaut looked around, cursing.  The others did the same.  They were stuck, in a hanger full of flames.  The fire spreaded quickly.  Situations seemed bleak.  Dead bleak.

Damnit, we could just about use that E-Web now! Thought Leon while popping off a few more rounds at the enemy. Another one of Thrawns attack teams were now inbound on the Raiders position. They could not afford to waste any time, and needed to take that fourth trench now or never. To Leon's relief, Darr-Rann was thinking the same thing.

"Squall, what's the hold up? We need that E-Web now!" Said Darr-Rann with a hint of aggravation in his voice.

"Were trying to reach you sir, but the enemy is spreading too much fire. Do you mind giving us some cover?"

"Not at all. But get over here ASAP, Thrawns forces are growing stronger and we can't afford to waste any more time," Darr said, pausing for a second before continuing. "You guys ready?" He then said looking at the four troopers that remained in the trench. But before any of them could say yes, he stuck his rifle out of the trench, and started firing at the oncoming forces.

The rest of the squad followed suit, adding there own fire to the display of fireworks. Leon ducked, dodged, and returned fire for what seemed a life time. He finally heard foot steps approaching from behind, and new that that was the rest of the squad. Leon couldn't help but notice how smooth Aeos made everything look. She even ran with style, which Leon didn't know could be possible. Rogueboy on the other hand, had a little bit of trouble getting into the trench, and almost got his head blown off. But thanks to a clumsy mistake, he tripped right before the bolt hit him, whizzing harmlessly over head. Squall followed behind, and quickly joined the action, making things less difficult.

Darr-Rann jogged over to the trio, his head held low so that he wouldn't get hit by the oncoming fire. "Get that E-Web hooked up pronto, the faster it's done, the sooner we get out of this frozen dump."

"Already on it Sarge, expect to see this baby up and running in a couple of seconds," replied Rogueboy with a cocky manner.

Yea, easier said then done.

"Change of plans. Get the grenade launch."  Kami ordered bowing her head from the hatch.

Urakai took Sayah's grenade launcher hanging on the small rack next to the suits. Passing it to Kami, she quickly checked to see if it was loaded and with pleaser, she started firing.

"Zafo! Go faster!" Kael screamed in horror as one of the gorgodons picked up its claw into the air and pulled it down with such force that it pierced the side of the repulsortank.

"Get him!" Kami yelled knowing she couldn't get him without damaging the tank.

Quickly she traded Urakai a grenade launcher for an E-11 and joined Galant in his blasting. The blasts exploded onto the gorgodon and pierced his layers of skin but he held firm, beginning to climb up the side of the repulsortanks with his other claws.

"We're slowing! He's too heavy!" Zafo yelled, foot on the accelerator.

"There's no way! Wait a minute. Kael! When he climbs up the tank, blast his head! We'll target his claws so when he falls off, he doesn't get stuck on!" Kami yelled now aiming for the gorgodon's hands.

Right before the gorgodon poked his head up in front of the turret, another big crash made everyone fall, even the gorgodon although he was stuck in with his claws. Everyone was scrambling around, trying to find the cause while Kami, Kael and Galant kept firing. Urakai saw in horror out the view port that the gorgodon had slowed them so much, the others began grabbing on too.

"Kami! Galant! Get out of there now!" Urakai yelled, pulled both their feet down.

"What's wrong with you?!" Kami questioned, getting more frustrated.

Urakai's answer was a shaking finer pointed out the view port. Kami moved there but right before any of the gorgodons came into view, a massive hand with claws stuck onto the fingers, smashed the view port and as more climbed around the tank, the turrets got smashed.

"That's impossible!" Kael screamed climbing down from the turret controls.

"We need help! Zafo yelled, activation the metal shields around the cockpit before any of the gorgodons smashed that glass too.

"Can't we just jump out and light the tank up as we do?" Urakai asked as claws spiked through the wall, almost stabbing Durandal. He quickly moved from the wall.

All stood back with no more ideas but to blow the tank up, but right before the decision was made, loud clanking metal made them all light up.

"Another AT-ST! Either it has to be the 'very' last one or reinforcements!" Sayah yelled.

He was right, an AT-ST made it's way over to the tank and opened fire.

"Yes!" Urakai screamed as it hit one of the gorgodons.

"No!" Kami yelled, taking controls of the heavy blaster cannon that was not yet destroyed.

"Wait!" Zafo said, putting his hand on the controls, "Not yet."

They all waited in silence as the tank rocked and sparks flew, but after a few seconds, Urakai noticed the tank was on fire!

"That's enough!" yelled Urakai. But he stopped dead on his way over to the cannon.

The gorgodon screamed a deafening roar before jumping off after his fellow comrades.

All troopers stood in confusion but Zafo, "They are afraid of fire! Not being blown up by blasts that don't 'really' cause fire, especially in this condition, but I get it now. There are so many layers of fat and muscle to burn that the gorgodons would be in agony for about an hour of burning I'd say."

With a confused face, Urakai soon understood and nodded but then, another blast rocked the tank, almost making dozens of sparks fly.

"Ok, let's get em!" Urakai yelled as Zafo took his hand off the controls and opened the cockpit and broken glass fell. With a small shriek, Zafo sat on the controls seat and manoeuvred the tank, dodging a blast which would have ended them.

"Open fire!" Zafo yelled at Kami who began pressing the trigger.

The blasts hit the AT-ST numerous times but it was not over yet, as Zafo was surprised by them and sent a rocket.

"Kami!" Zafo screamed, trying to evade the seeking rocket.

"I'm on it!" responded Kami, firing a blast at the rocket. The rocket exploded with a wave of fire and the blast continued on and struck the AT-ST with force. It blew the inside first before all that was left were burning legs that soon exploded, shooting smoking metal upwards.

"Yes!" They all yelled as the fireworks continued.

"Cheers to that." Zafo said, sitting back in his chair with a sigh of relief.

Jelly and Typex came back with a dirty, but working heat unit.  Typex, said, "They didn't have much of a selection, the sales clerk said this was the best one they had."

Riqimo rolled his eyes iunder his helmet and took it to begin wiring the new system to Phenix's stormtrooper suit.  Meanwhile, the squad had to start defending the trench they were in, as the destruction of the tower had attracted a few Thrawn squads.  Once Riiqmo got the unit working he threw a blanket over Phenix and picked up his carbine.

"Guy with a grenade at three o'clock!" RK shouted over the battle, causing all the Eclipse troopers to concentrate fire on that trooper.  Luckily the grenade was not thrown, nor was the pin even pulled for that matter.
"Why didn't we bring any grenades?" Jelly shouted in fustration.
"We weren't given them," Garet snapped back, "Keep shooting!"

The battle was not going well at all and Phenix was still down, which prevented the squad from giving up the trench and retreating.  Riqimo glanced over to his left, their swoops were parked there about 400 meters out.  The swoops and Jag's "borrowed" military speeder, that would certainly be a help.  Unfortunately there was no way that Riqimo was going to make it without getting seriously injured or worse dur to his snowtrooper armor.

RK came over the com link, "They are in the south section of the trench!"
Jelly pulled out his vibro-blade and called out, "Coming, you guys stop them here."

After what seemed like hours, but was really fifteen minutes, Eclipse had emerged yet again the victor of near impossible odds.

"This has got to stop," Riqimo muttered to himself, but he knew that the assault would not end anytime soon, especially with phase two beginning.

Phenix was starting to wake again, unaware of what the squad just went through.  Jelly left for a little bit to loot the enemy soldiers' equipment.  He came back with two grenades for everyone, "This should hopefully even up the odds, as well, I got three shotguns and a few flashbangs."

Garet decided to assign the shotguns to himself, RK, and Jag.
"But I found them," Jelly pouted.
"But you have a vibro-blade and a blaster pistol, you will be fine in the tight hallways of the base."

Snipes unleashed a swarm of profanities that put most conventional forms of swearing to shame, even branching out into a couple different languages. Then he moved on to finding a way out. Most of the the floor had caved into the lower level and the walls were beginning to crumble, after looking around Snipes realized the only reason Wraith was still alive was because of a large storage bin holding up their section of the floor. Snipes thanked the stars for that, but he knew it wouldn't hold. He twisted around a bit, looking for some way off, there were flames, sure, but Snipes real worry was the building collapsing, that's how he'd designed the explosives layout, only reason he could think of that the building wasn't down might be because the explosions weren't quite enough to destroy the holding walls, but it had to be enough to warp them, which meant the building would be down soon.

"What the hell!" Yillis yelled, himself trying to find a way out as well.

Yoder screamed.

"Oh keep your heads, Leth, Draken, see if you can pull that TIE wing piece up here." Arnaut began yelling orders, seeming to have a plan. "Yeah, there, now here, lets shove it across this gap," he said, springing over to help them, "should hold for us to get across double quick, Snipes, think you can get us through that door?"

"Yeah, boss, lets go, don't have much time."

Snipes took lead, his long legs carrying him across in two bounds, right into the door way, since the rest of the floor had fallen away. Snipes leaned around and pulled off the front of the control panel, once inside he played with the wires a little, trying to get the combination that would open the door. Finally it happened, the door slid open and Snipes stumbled forward, out of it, into the cold that buffeted him, made him miss the flames inside, he moved back, out of the way though, quickly across the path and against the command center, where he tried to remain hidden in shadow and blizzard, his squads HUD would tell them where he hid. Snipes watched them come out the same way, on the Heads Up Display inside his helmet, Arnaut stood by the door, making sure everyone got out safe, the others came out two at a time. When finally they were all out of the hanger they collected against the Command Center.

"We need to get out of here fast, Tnepres, what does this area look like for enemies?" Arnaut started.

"I don't know, lost my scanner in the explosions."

"Damn, well, we have to move, these suits will keep us from freezing to death very quickly, but too prolonged of exposure is still going to kill us, we need our snowtrooper armor."

The squad nodded, feeling the effects of the cold, they knew that while, an hour, two, maybe half the day they'd be able to survive, but much longer and the cold would have sapped them of all their body heat and they'd become just another mound of snow. The blizzard wasn't any help. Snipes swore to himself about the snow and the cold, he hated it, passionately, plains were nice, trees nicer, beaches the nicest, but snow was miserable. He shook the cold from his mind, knowing it was better not to think about it, instead he focused on trying to see in the blizzard, he could barely make out Arnaut, leading the group from the front in his black commando armor.

I hate winter.

"Aeos, set?"
"Yes, yes, your eyes?"
Rogue threw a thumb-up in her direction.
"Just a bit blurred,"
Rogue turned to Darr-Rann.
"We are ready, when you are,"
Giving an affirmative nod Darr-Rann turned his head. The fourth and final trench lied ahead of them, barely visible through the hazy fog. Aeos sighed, and took her helmet off. Even though her helmet allowed her easy access to oxygen, she despised it. She took a deep breath, causing her to gasp at the icy air. The few snowflakes that got stuck in her hair disappeared quickly when she slipped her helmet on.

"Anytime now Darr," muttered Squall impatiently. Darr-Rann sighed and dropped his head for a few moments before turning it back to the squad.
"Okay, Leon, you stay here as backup with Aeos and Rogue. You trio will cover our asses while we get that last trench."

A muttering of agreeing grunts sounded through the Comm-Links. For now they could afford time, if only a little bit. While Darr-Rann and the rest of the Raiders with the exception of E-Web handlers readied themselves, Aeos took the time to close her eyes for a second. Even though her amour was heating her body and protecting it, she felt oddly cold and slightly dizzy. Shaking her head she pulled her self together in a crouching stance next to the Web.

"You okey?" asked Rogue as she almost fell to the side. He gently caught her shoulder and pushed her upright.
"Yeah, just need a good dose of adrenaline and I should be good, think the small rest break is a bit much," she muttered grinning. Up front Darr-Rann just left their small haven of security into the blaze to the trench.
Aeos was manning the Web this time, while Rogue scanned the area inch by inch for any sign of enemy life with a microbinocular.
"Aeos, sharp left. Shoot."
Silently Aeos swung the E-Web to the left and peered through the scope. Rogue crawled over to the generator which was about a meter and a half away. With the pull of a trigger the air was alive with battle as blaster-bolts decorated the misty skies. Darr-Rann and his team still remained unseen by the enemy, their focus momentarily distracted by the E-Web. Leon was crouched behind them with one knee on the ground, the other one propped up to support his A-280.

Darr-Rann's work of cleaning the trench seemed to be handled well enough by the E-Web. All seemed well, till a cry from Leon jerked both Rogue and Aeos' attention away from the E-Web.
Three enemy troopers has crept up from behind, and two of them has gotten hold of Leon. He's body were still as they clubbed him with what seemed like vibronets to Aeos. His helmet was loosing its resistance, and it seemed impossible that a person's face would be able to fit in it. The remaining enemy trooper was firing his pistol wildly, as Rogue ducked towards them. No one noticed one of the blasts hitting the generator at the side. Suddenly the pistol landed in perfect aim at Rogue's head rendering him in  a useless and hopeless position.

"Rogue duck!" Yelled Aeos through her Comm-Link. Rogue not hesitating for a second did as ordered and Aeos managed to swing the E-Web around. The three enemies dropped to the ground within seconds, blood splattering from the bodies as the bolts teared through the amour into the flesh.

Aeos lifted the trigger momentarily only to swing the E-Web back to its original focus on the trench.
"Check Leon, I'll manage,"
Rogue turned his attention to the unconscious trooper for further examination.

"It looks bad, I won't be surprised, if he is rendered in a coma," muttered Rogue, as he managed to break parts of the helmet away.

"I need to shut the E-Web down, it will overheat soon, and I lost sight of Darr-Rann," Aeos said worried.
"Darr-Rann, this is Aeos, Leon is down an-"
The two conscious troopers failed to notice the smoke emitting from the generator, each busy and distracted by their own battle. Rogue's focus did not leave Leon's head, and Aeos trying to find Darr-Rann while keeping the enemy at bay.

Aeos, lifted her finger from the trigger and glanced to the side where Rogue and Leon were. Heavy black smoke oozed from the generator, and it didn't take a second to notice this.
"Rogue,  we need to get away....now," Rogue turned his head to her and followed her gaze to the smoke. His eyes widened. He quickly got up and slung the injured teenager with ease over his shoulders. Aeos followed quickly.

Their hasty escape was too late and an explosion soon coursed through the ground with a trembling force while the air was engulfed with fire momentarily. Aeos vaguely remembers Rogue's hand across her back pushing her hard down and sharp pain pounding her head and arms.

There were few people Garet was more willing to save than Phenix. If it came down to it, Garet would've sacrificed one of his own to save Zephyr's life; unfortunately for Garet he didn't have the stomach to sacrifice anyone right now. He frantically looked for a dead enemy that could contribute their helmet.

"3... 2... 1..." a familiar voice commented, unrecognizable Garet's flurry to help his ASL. A small shock wave rattled the trench, causing Garet to stumble towards the wall. "Find a heat source! Now!" Garet barked, trying to save the waning life of Phenix.

-

Garet shrunk against the trench wall, tired of how every mission seemingly went to hell. Battle noises still rang in the background, but above it was the low moan of Phenix. "Phenix, you all right?" he called out wearily as Phenix started to make some noise and movement.

"Might be a little... under the weather in the morning," he chuckled a weak chuckle, "How 'bout you boss?" It was an odd thing to say for a man who hadn't realized a fight had occurred. "You take care of that bastard for me?" Ah, the one who grabbed Phenix.

"Not a scratch on me. And, yeah, I did get that guy good."

Jelly stood up with his arms full of plunder. "What you got there?" Garet called out. Jelly looked over, startled his SL noticed.

"Just some ammo to help me out. Found some grenades, too. Figure I'd share two with everyone." Garet was sure Jelly was smiling under his helmet.

"Good job. I'll hang on to those weapons so you can pass those 'nades out," Garet said, reaching his arm out. Jelly dropped them from the pile into his arms and went off  delivering the grenades. Garet quickly examined the shotguns, counted the ammo, and decided they were usable.

"Hey RK!" he yelled out, the Corporal came out from around a corner.

"Yessir?" he asked, one eye down the trench.

"Take a look at this," Garet replied, shoving the shotty in RK's direction.

"Nice," Kenobi said as he inspected it, "good grab. We gonna use 'em,?"

"It's all yours," Garet said, now looking towards Jag. "You too," Garet said, tossing the shotty.

"Thanks sir," Jag replied as he grabbed it.

"Phenix, you think you can handle one?" Phenix groaned again.

"Nope... not now." Groaning.

Garet unloaded the energy cell from his rifle and tossed the weapon away. He lobbed the energy cell over to Phenix and said "Here, I won't be needing it." Phenix caught it and nodded.

Riqimo, who was making his rounds, finally came to Garet. The Leader waved his hand, he didn't feel like medical attention was needed. "Take a break, Riqi, you're doin' too much." Riqimo took it gladly, accepting the small piece, and only piece, of thanks he'd get from his SL.

"So what's next?" the Squad's lone Bothan inquired from around the corner of the trench. "We gonna head into the base?"

Garet shook his head for all who could see. "I figure we all need a break right now. We weren't ready for this, and I figure there'll be more of 'em inside. Let's wait for Raiders and DD to make it up here, then we'll go in."

The entire Squad seemed to sigh at once. A break in the battle.

Rogueboy opened his eyes he was lying on something solid but he couldn't tell what it was, suddenly the object let off a soft moan of pain and Rogue realized it was Aeos he rolled off of her and checked her for any major injuries. Thankfully there were none just a scrape on her forehead, and her armour was chipped in various spots. Rogueboy realized that certain parts of his armour had been burned away and part of it had melted leaving burning welts into his back. Rogue felt groggy and on top of his blurry vision he had one massive migraine, all of a sudden he remembered that Leon was on his shoulder before the blast.

Rogue looked around for Leon in the trench but it was hard to find him amongst all the other dead snowtroopers, finally Rogue found a trooper with a cracked helmet, he rolled him over and started pulling off the helmet slowly without trying to cut deeper into Leon's smashed face Rogue than checked his pulse.

"This is Rogue, Leon is hit pretty bad his face is screwed up."

Rogue tore off pieces of a nearby fallen snowtroopers cape and began applying pressure to Leon's face. Darr came over on the comm.

"I'm requesting for a med evac now. This is Sergeant Darr-Rann calling for a med evac for an unconscious trooper, Eagle One I repeat we have a downed trooper."

Rogue dragged Leon to where Aeos was slowly getting her bearings, as Rogue was dragging Leon he heard a responding voice to Darr's request.

"This is Eagle One, sorry Sergeant but we have been ordered not to enter the battle zone, it is simply to hot down there. If you can bring your trooper to this point." A circle formed on Rogue's HUD which read MED EVAC. "We can get him out without risking ourselves."

"Rogue this is your call, do you think you could get Leon there? And be back in time for a picture of us busting Vaynus and his Rodian lapdog?"

Darr's voice crackled over the intercom and Rogue wanted nothing more than to shoot him.

What the hell is wrong with Darr? He shouldn't be putting Leon's life in my hands.

"Uhh....I don't think so Darr, I can lug Leon along with us if needs be, especially since I don't have to carry the generator along with us."

"But that would reduce your effectiveness."

"Well at least I'm extra protected."

Rogue tried to make a joke out of the situation, not because he thought it was funny, but that's how he handles stress, either make a joke or kill someone.

"Oh, Rogue before I forget while you were napping we cleaned out the final trench and are in pursuing any stragglers, their making a run for the research facility so meet us at this location. We're meeting up with Eclipse and Dark Dragoons"

Rogue's HUD flashed signifying the rendezvous point.

Squall, Darr, and Preditor quickly gathered their things.  Squall's pack felt less heavy now after giving the last of his missiles over to Preditor and having used half of his grenades.  All that remained was a few breaching packs and some C4 charges, and the rest of the grenades.  Squall quickly put about 8 in his belt, letting them hang loosely as he whipped the less heavy pack onto his back, along with the sniper rifle which hadn't much ammo left.

"Leon's out, Rogue's carrying him.  Aeos, You're going to have to cover them whilst we make our way towards the rendevous point," said Squall

"Affirmative, I'm right on top of that," said Aeos as the squad roughed their way out of the trench.  The point on the HUD read out clear, it was half a kilometer away, which wasn't that far considering how far the Raiders had already come.

"Lets keep it moving," said Darr, "Pick up the pace, we haven't much time to meet up with DD and Eclipse"

Squall felt much better now that his pack was less heavy, but he also knew that this was a bad thing.  He hadn't much blaster packs left, and he was down on grenades, but he would make use of what he had left.  The A-280 felt good in his hands as he picked up to a slight jog.

"Raiders leader to Eclipse and Dragoons, we are on our way to the Rendevous point, meet you there in ETA 5 minutes," said Darr

Squall knew what was coming up in the battle would be harder than the objectives they had accomplished before.  As he jogged, he wen't into a slight concentration, gathering his thoughts and sorting out what needed to be sorted out.  It helped him more, knowing that they had nearly the entire squad with them, but would Leon be ok?  With Rogue having to haul another body around, things didn't look too ok on his end.

The E-web was completely out of of the area now after the last explosion in the trench.  It would hinder the Raiders ability in battle, but the tactics they had been learning in sims would help them out greatly.  Or would it?  The enemy knew their own tactics too, and the combined firepower of both would be tested when the squads entered the Facility.  Thrawns best were waiting for them, and they would have to give everything they had to make sure that a success would come out of this battle.

Squall noted that they were growing closer to the rendevous point quicker than he anticipated.  He could hear the surrounding firefights within the facility.  Something was already going down, which meant that they would have to mobilize fast.

"Darr, we're nearly there, lets slow down and check our surroundings," said Squall

Squall checked his periferals as they neared the rendevous point.  The tanks could be seen around the area of the small trench that encased Eclipse squad.  It had been a while since the squads had met up, and it felt good to be back within the hands of the rest of them.

"Alright, we're at the rendevous point.  Gather your things and get ready for the next phase of battle," said Darr, "Take a quick break, but keep in mind to be on your feet at all times.  We have a facility to take down people, be very aware"

RK looked across the horizon, his mind was racing, the wound that Riqimo had just recently patched up was hurting like hell. He shrugged the pain off, looking over at Phenix he realized what being close to death was really like, his was more of a fight. Then he thought of his family back home, he was growing homesick during these wars, but there was no turning back.

Riqimo was walking towards RK, probably to check out his wounds , and to see if everythin was alright, but instead they chated. "So how ya doing?" RK looked at the recruit, he was never one to welcome new people into a squad, he always wanted to do things his way.

"Fine, other than the fact I am a little shaken up from all that." RK was scared, after he woke up Jelly had made some jokes about his girlfriend, Rachel, come to find out he had said her name a couple time when he was out, after tha experience he realized how much she really meant to him. "So, you thinking aobut opening a hopsital, I hear doctor's make good money now-a-days , we could really use you back at base."

"Nah, I think I will stay here, this place is like family. A second family." Riqi stopped talking for a while, either he didn't take RK's joke to lightly or he was hurting.

"I guess your right, we need more brave people like you, I know I couldn't pick up a sringe witout puking my guts out first." Riqi laughed at that, whatever was wrong must have passed by, but RK knew the hurt was still deep down inside.

"Well, better go check up on the rest of my patients, A doctors work is never done." Riqimo got up and headed over to Phenix, he was breathing stable now, but he was still a little dazed out.

He took a quick look around at all his squad mates, his hotheaded personality always kept him some what distanced from the others, but it never stopped them from interacting with him. He stopped to look at Garet, the leader, he was standing above Phenix while Riqimo looked him over. The SL had always tried to help RK when he needed it the most, but RK just shrugged him off. Now though he understood. This place is like a Family, though we all have are differences.

He reached downo to pull a picture of his family out of his belt, a little torn from the battle, but still noticable, he looked at it, his face turning pale, he missed them he was sure they missed him. His dad had died serving the VE, now it was RK's turn to avenge his father's death, partly why he joined the Ve.
Slipping the picture back in his belt he took one last glance to see his Girlfriend and sister, then slipping it the rest of the way into his belt.

He looked up to see what looked like imperial stormtroopers coming towards them just above the horizon, it looked like they were on foot, snow flying as they hurried along towards the same spot they were at. "Sir, Stormtroopers coming in, fast." RK got up. Your not going to get away this time. with that RK took aim.

Uh, what happened? W-Where am I? It all hurts so much, this pain, why won't it stop!?All Leon could see was blackness. It was all around him, it was inside of him, he was the blackness. It was unlike any other feeling Leon had experienced. Leon heard nothing, felt nothing, and saw nothing. Just the never ending blackness that surrounded him.

Leon spoke, but nothing came out. He tried again, and nothing. Leon began to panic, was he dead? Was this what death was like? Would he be trapped in this black gloom for the rest of his life? A million thoughts ran through Leon's head, none of them adding up. And then Leon felt a change. It was feint at first, but the light grew brighter, focused into a tiny little ball of energy. Leon watched as this ball of light contracted, and changed shape and stretched into eventually what looked like, a person. When the light dimmed, Leon found out who he was staring at...himself.

"Who the hell are you?" Leon asked, trying to sound as vicious as he could, but it was of no use. His voice seemed as if it came from afar.

The replica of himself opened its mouth, and said something that Leon couldn't hear.

"What? Speak louder!

The replica started to pull away from Leon, slowly fading away, still saying the same thing over and over again, but Leon couldn't understand, it made no sense. Then Leon fell, plunging into the darkness that soon enveloped him.

Leon's eyes slowly fluttered open, or at least tried to. A blinding white blasted him in the face, and a bitter cold bit away at his exposed skin. Leon gagged, it was too much for him to handle. The sudden noise, the light, the cold, and the pain. The pain was unbearable. Leon shot up and rolled over onto his stomach, throwing up a large mass of orange liquid. Leon couldn't take it, he wanted to die right then and there, but something kept biting at him, telling him to suck it up, and that he would get through everything just fine.

"He's awake!" yelled an unfamiliar voice. Leon watched through swollen eyes as a group of people rushed over to him. All of them talking in hushed voices and then one of them spoke up.

"Riqimo get over here now! Leon needs some treatment," shouted the man.

My name, its Leon.

"Hold on a sec bud this is going to sting just a little bit."

The next thing Leon knew, he was screaming and rolling around, the two other men holding him down so that he wouldn't hurt himself. His face burned, it felt like his flesh was being peeled off, and then it stopped. Leon found himself staring at a Blonde man with a scar on his face. Leon's vision began to clear, but the pain was still bad.

"Leon it's me Darr-Rann, you ok?" Said the man who Leon now new as Darr-Rann.

Leon just nodded in return, not knowing what to say. He didn't know if he could trust this man. But something in the mans eyes told Leon to listen to the man. He was trust worthy.

"Where are we, and who are these people?" Leon asked, his voice sounding deep, and the words slurring.

Darr-Rann turned back and whispered to the others. "Listen to me Leon, your going to need to cooperate with us and listening to everything we tell you. I'll explain everything to you later, but right now we have to start moving. But there is one thing you must know before we leave. You are a soldier for the Vast Empire, and are here on a mission. People will be trying to hurt you, and you mustn't let them do that understand? You are here to destroy Thrawns forces. No one will stand in your way. Destroy every enemy, and don't die."

Those words echoed through out Leon's head. And they wouldn't stop for a long time. Destroy every enemy, and don't die.

Alright sorry if I left anybody confused, but Raiders has just reached the meeting area and we are ready to move onto phase 2. Just give us the word Kami.

"Sir, Stormtroopers coming in, fast." RK called out to the squad.

"Wait hold your fire, they aren't shooting," Garet ordered.

"It's Raiders!" Jelly called out, the squad gave a sigh of relief, finally some support.

"Riqimo get over here now! Leon needs some treatment," One of them called out, Riqimo jumped up and counted the snowtroopers motioning for him to hurry, they were missing two...

Riq saw Leon up ahead with another trooper on his knees next to him.

"What happened?" Riq asked.
"He got clunked pretty bad on the head," Darr-Rann responded showing a dented helmet
"Okay, he's been running much?"
"Yeah, we all have."

Riq started pulling out his medkit yet again, and prepared a medium dosage of Enerlorij Stimulant.

"This is gonna sting," Riq told Leon, and then turned to the squad, he'll be fine for the rest of the battle as long as he doesn't jump into blaster fire or something."

Darr asked Leon if he was okay, but Leon just slurred back a response that Riq could not quite hear through his helmet.

"He lost his memory..." Rogue grinned.

Riq quickly realized what he had just done, "Uh, The hit probably did that, although he should rember his name at least... err, I must have given him too high a dosage as well, I think, I didn't know his blood sugar levels and had to guess them.  He'll get his memory back in a few days that the stimulant washed out... but he probably won't remember what ever the hit took out except for some fragments.  Other than that, he should be fine, just watch for what may look like sugar highs."

With that, Riqimo turned back to his squad.

"He alright?" Jelly asked.
"Yeah, just not gonna be thinking for himself.  Anyways, we know what our target is inside the base?"
Garet answered, "Well, no, but Typex thinks we should hit the Communications, he should be able to jam their entire network, even their squad channels.  That will put things in our advantage.  Also they will not be able to coordinate with their fleet overhead to make some sort of orbital bombardment."

IMPORTENT: I continiued from Leon's post, since Riq's post is inaccurate. Please see Scenario Outline topic for details.

Aeos lifted her arm in a lazy attempt to wave at the alien squads, but the energy needed for this small action escaped her. Rogue carefully lowered Leon down to the ground. A snow trooper stormed towards them as he plucked his helmet off. Darr-Rann kneeled down and started to inspect the damage done. His eye, still in-tune from previous Medic Classes scanned Leon's body for other injures other then his face.

Before anyone could react Leon suddenly bolted upright as he jerked his face to the ground. Orange fluids dripped from his mouth as he gagged.
"He's awake!" exclaimed Darr-Rann relieved.
"Riqimo get over here, Leon needs some treatment!" He shouted to the Lance Corporal.

Aeos stepped back out of the crowd. Leon was okay. He was in capable hands. She cringed when he started screaming. The sound of scuffling bodies soon followed as two troopers pinned Leon to the ground.

"Leon it's me Darr-Rann, you okay?"
The teenager nodded in reply.
"Where are we, and who are these people?" he asked.
Aeos' head cocked while a deep frown settled on her face in surprise.
She vaguely recognized Darr-Rann whispering something to the troopers surrounding them before turning his attention back to Leon.

Curious she picked her self up from the snow with less difficulty she expected and neared the small crowd again.
"Destroy every enemy and don't die," said Darr-Rann as Aeos got into earshot.

While Darr-Rann and Riqimo fixed the trooper up, the rest were already preparing them for phase two. Within a few moments, they pulled Leon to his feet. The first few steps went wobbly when he tried to walk.
Darr-Rann supported him gently by his arm while muttering instructions.
"Just concentrate for now on putting one foot in front of the other."

Aeos turned her attention away from them to Rogue. He sat with his head in his knees, his arms clasped over his open head. She stepped closer, there something about his demeanor now that stopped her in her steps. It was unsettling yet sacred and disturbing it would be a sin.

After a few moments Rogue lifted his head staring straight at her.
"You okay?"  asked Aeos. Rogue nodded, he hugged himself in order to keep his body temperature stable. Two capes hung loosely across his back.
"Yeah, as soon as we reach some dead guys, I'll probably strip some armor there."
"And your head?"
"I'll live, you,"
"Same,"

Aeos sat down next to Rogue, and placed her helmet next her. She pulled a ration bar from her utility belt and opened it.
"You keep a ration bar in your utility belt instead of some grenade?" he asked raising an eyebrow.
Aeos managed a grin and snapped the almost frozen bar in half and handed Rogue one half.
"Its worth the risk," she said as she took a bite.
"I suppose, we need the energy," he muttered as he took a bite as well.
"They could sell it in fruit flavors," She mumbled chewing the tasteless gum-like substance.
"Or meat," replied Rogue.
Aeos chuckled lightly.

Raiders

Leon took another slow robotic like step. His eyes were pointed forward, and were slightly glazed, giving him the effect as if he were staring off into deep space. But inside his head, everything was spinning wildly and it was hard to keep focus, a black spot obscuring his vision every once and a while. Slowly but surely though, Leon could start to feel the pain dim, and his vision was starting to come into focus. It became easier to walk now, no longer feeling like he was going to topple over. In no time, Leon could walk at a normal pace, and the pain in his head had subsided to a dull ache, nothing more.

Leon turned his gaze onto a man and woman, who were eating some kind of energy bar. The man then looked up, his eyes drifting lazily around until they landed on Leon. A look of surprise shot across his face, and he ran over to Leon.

"Jeez Leon, you're a mess, you took quite the beating there. How you feeling now?"

Leon just stared at the man, his face blank. This man seemed strangely familiar to Leon, but he didn't know from where. Many of the people here looked familiar to Leon, but he couldn't remember from where he had met or seen them. Leon opened his mouth and then spoke.

"I'm o-ok. Just a l-little head ache," stuttered Leon. Leon was surprised at how deep his voice was, and he could barely understand what he was saying himself. His words were slurred, and even though he talked low, his voice could be heard because of the bass in it.

The woman that he was sitting with ran up to him, and pulled him aside.

"Rogue, something's wrong with Leon. We think he's lost his memory, and hopefully, only for a short period of time. I suggest we leave him alone for now, he needs some time to think."

With that, the two of them walked away, returning back to where all the others were stationed. The man cast a longing look at Leon, and then turned away, his head down.
Leon didn't know what to think of this, and didn't really care. No thoughts ran through his head, his mind was dead. He was too tired to think, and his head felt as it weighed a ton. And for the first time that day, Leon realized that he was in the snow. Snow flakes danced all around him, almost making them seem alive. The snow beneath him was powdery, his leg sinking in the knee deep snow.

Leon had the urge all of a sudden to stick out his tongue and let the Snow Flakes fall onto it. He pointed his face up towards the sky, closing his eyes so he wouldn't have to stare into the blinding white sky, and stuck his tongue out.

Destroy every enemy and don't die

Aeos gave Rogue a small pat on the back.
"At least we only knew him a day," muttered Rogue attempting a joke. It earned a grin from Aeos and gave him a light slap on the shoulder.
"Shame, the poor kid Rogue,"

Oddly enough, she felt a bit more alive then she had a few minutes earlier.
I guess, those ration crap does the trick, she though to her self.
"
Rogue glanced around, his eyes searching for the familiar blond head they all has come to know.
Spotting Darr-Rann at last, he dragged him self and Aeos over to him. They both held their capes up which served some protection against the wind now picking up. The icy wind slapped Aeos in the face with force, and for a moment she considered her helmet.

"Darr, how long till we go?"  asked Rogue.
Darr-Rann stroke his chin in deep thought.
"I'm not sure, we are waiting for order. I suspect it might be a while still. How come you ask?"

"Figured, we, Aeos and I, might as well go nab some armor for him, I saw a few sets on our way here,"
Darr-Rann looked appalled for a second.
"You mean rob the dead?"
Aeos stifled her snickers.
"So, you don't like dying people, but have no problem with stealing their clothes after they are dead?"
Rogue smirked.
"You have some ethic issues there," joked Darr-Rann grinning. His lips were covered in a blue hue from the cold.
"Just sit tight for a few more minutes, then Aeos can go treasure hunting."
Aeos shook her head at the trooper beside her.
"Ethic issues indeed,"

The three stormtroopers exchanged conversation for a while, but the howling winds made it impossible to communicate without shouting. After a while, Darr-Rann put his helmet back on.

"We need to get Leon a new helmet as well," sighed Rogue, Darr-Rann's helmet evoking flash images of Leon's nearly shattered helmet.

"Sir!"

Vaynus glanced up one of his young officers came skidding through the door into the small plush interview room in which he and the mercenary Fro-Ja were seated.

"What is it?" He snapped, not bothering to mask his irritation. Despite his request to be given an hour or so of privacy with the increasingly confused rodian, he was constantly being interrupted to be informed of the details of the battle outside.

"I'm incredibly sorry to interrupt sir," The officer stammered, sweat shining beneath his peak cap, "But the VE forces have broken through the defensive screen and are en-route to base."

"What!" Vaynus's breath hissed through his teeth as he came to his feet, "You informed me earlier that we were substantially prepared for whatever they would throw at us!"

"Well, yes sir," The officer stammered, "But they're fighting like madmen out there." His gaze flicked over to the bug eyed alien opposite the commodore, "Whatever he knows must be important."

"And is not your concern." Vaynus growled, his usually calm composure forgotten in the face of the news, "How far away are they?"

The officer straightened, struggling to maintain the appropriate demeanor, "Two squads have already destroyed the perimeter guard towers, and another two squads, one with mechs, are less than ten minutes away."

Vaynus took a deep breath, and attempted to calm himself. Turning to his guest, who was looking on rather bemusedly, he spoke calmly, "My apologies Fro-Ja, but it seems as though we will have to finish this debriefing on board the Halberd"

The rodian waved out his green skinned hands, letting out a stream of aggravated gibberish in his native language. Resisting the urge to roll his eyes skywards, Vaynus turned to the other person in the room, a diminutive human translator, "What did he say?"

"He said that getting on your ship was not part of the deal," The translator responded, "He says that you insult his intelligence by suggesting such a move, as once he is onboard the Halberd he believes he will become nothing more than a prisoner."

Vaynus clenched his jaw, "Fro-Ja, if we remain here we risk falling into the hands of the Vast Empire, and they will treat you with far less hospitality than I'm offering. I give you my word that no harm shall come to you on board my ship."

The rodian stared at him blankly for a few seconds, then let of a series of high pitched noises, a clear imitation of human laughter.

"I believe Mr Fro-Ja finds the concept of Imperial honor very amusing," The translator offered dourly, his eyes flicking sleepily to the Commodore.

"We don't have time for this," Vaynus snapped, gesturing at the two Stormtrooper's standing on guard near the door. Fro-Ja's laughter halted as they stood forwards and seized each of his arms, preventing him from reaching for any of the various weapons littered over his body.  Spitting out another stream of insults in rodese, Fro-Ja could do nothing but squirm helplessly against the strength of the troopers as they carried him out of the room and towards a containment area.

"Ready my ship," Vaynus commanded briskly, "We're getting off planet now."

"Uh, sir," The officer cleared his throat, "Unfortunately all the ships in the hanger have been neutralized by a VE black ops squad."

Vaynus halted mid step, feeling the color drain from his face, "What?"

"We've already contacted the Halberd," The officer informed him, "They have a shuttle and adequate protection on its way. We can't initiate a ground strike on the VE forces however, as we still have men scattered out there."

The commodore hesitated before answering, immediately discarding the option of ordering the ground strike despite the risk to his men. He was not an officer who would lay down the lives of his loyal troopers just to save his own.  The shuttle on its way was his only option until he reached the safety of the destroyer,

"Contact the Halberd," He told the officer, "Tell them to launch additional air units. The VE might breach the facility, but we're not letting them leave Illum in one piece."

The officer snapped to attention, "Yessir."

"Transmission incoming."

Kami glanced up from where she was crouched over the revived Urakai, "Who from?"

"The Colonel," Sam answered, "It's for you."

Coming to her feet, Kami walked across the metal grated floor of the Dragoons remaining tank and stood before the small screen on the main console as it flickered, then flashed to life.

"Kami," Rizzit's eyebrows were furrowed, "Bad news. The Halberd has launched ties to sweep the system. No matter where we move too, it will only be a short matter of time before they find us."

Kami's eyes narrowed. Vaynus had reacted typically to the threat, offering the VE a choice. Pursue him and risk utter destruction, or return to the shuttles and flee with what remained of their forces.

"We can't leave, not now," Sam interjected, his words echoing Kami's thoughts.

"No, we can't." Rizzit declined his head in agreement, "We've come this far."

And we will take out Vaynus and Fro-Ja even if it kills us... Kami finished the sentence silently.

"This just gives us a tighter frame to work with," Rizzit continued, "Contact the others, designate targets and get to Vaynus and Fro-Ja. Try to take them alive, as both will be extremely helpful in tacking down the informant within the VE network." The Colonel hesitated, "Good luck out there. Hope we see you soon."

The transmission cut off, returning the screen to black.

Kami turned to Sam, her expression resolute, "We're ramming that gate."

Her squad leader didn't bother to object, simply pressing his foot down on the accelerator as they closed on the research facilities position.

**Alright guys, Phase Two is here. Check the Scenario Outline for details**

Typex, who was monitering the com channels called out, "Let's go boys, phase two is initiated, we got the Com tower."

"Great news," Garet responded, "Alright, let's pack up, we're gonna climb up the blown tower, move along the wall and then move for that Comm tower, we need to take it out fast."

Typex gave some new info, "The faster the better, their navy is coming in to try and shoot us up, if we can get to the comm network tower, we may be able to convince them to turn around."

The squad quickly picked up their equipment, powered down their speeders and got to the base of the ruined tower.  This is not going to be fun.

Garet as squad leader decided he wanted to go first and Riqimo somehow wound up going last, frequently dodging the rubble that fell down at him.  "Hkeek nkulla" Riqimo muttered as he narrowly dodged a piece about the side of his head that Jag sent loose.

"What did you say?" Jelly asked.
"Nothing," Riqimo answered Just a Jawaese curse...

The Riqimo reached the top and was helped over the ledge by Jelly and Garet.

At Garet's hand signal they began hurrying down the length of the wall, stopping once to take out a patrol along the wall.

After about ten minutes, they climbed down a ladder on the inside of the wall and found themselves at the base of the communications tower.

"This shouldn't be to hard," Jelly commented, "Just some techs and a few guards, let's have some fun."

Garet stopped Jelly from rushing in, "Let's be careful, Riq's medical supplies aren't going to last forever you know.  Okay, here's the plan, JB, Typex and Riq, come with me through the front door.  Phenix, Jag, and RK, get the back door when you hear us shooting, everyone got that?"

The squad nodded and took up their positions.  Jelly knocked on the door, which opened immediately.  "What's wrong, you cold?" a blonde tech snapped.

Garet stepped forward, "We need you to evacuate, the VE has breached the wall."

"Then why isn't the evacutate alarm going off?  Unless you..." the man didn't get to finish his sentence as Jelly quickly cut his throat with the vibro-blade.  The four troopers launched their assault into the comm tower, weapons flashing in the dimly lit halls...

"This level is clear," Phenix came on the com link.
"Good job, you take the lower levels, we'll take the upper levels, just five floors left on this tower," Garet said.

He pushed through the rubble.  Even with the little strength he had left, he managed to get through.  The smoking heap of debris that was once the hanger was visible above ground.  A large block of steel debris suddenly moved, being pushed aside.  A hand rose out, extending into an arm which bent forward.  The hand felt around, grasping loose debris, trying to get a hold of a grounded object.  It was in a black glove, part of it torn off.  Finally, it grasped onto a rock, pulling hard on it.  There was a sound of strain as the hand pulled harder.

Eventually, the rest of the body got out.  The man stood up, wiping off all the dust from his armor.  His black storm commando armor had lost it's shine, now coated with dust and blood.  His helmet was dented on the right.  The man stumbled around, his legs completely weak.  The back part of his armor was gone, some was torn off, the rest burned.  His naked back was black from soot and ash.  The man stumbled around a few more times, at last falling to his knees.  He took off his helmet, his hair was short and spiked, blonde in color.  He was unusually pale as well.  An exhale came finally, the warm air rushed out of his mouth and met the frigid air of the atmosphere.  His lips were black from the cold, his fingers and limbs were numb.  Blinking several times, he at last kept his eyes open longer, his emerald green pupils roamed around, staring at the debris covered snow on which he had stayed on.

He paused for a minute then put his helmet on, re-entering a quiet thermo-sensing visional world.  The man switched off the thermo sight on his helmet, returning back to his own vision.  His hands roamed around his belt, retrieving his micro-binoculars.  Placing up, keeping it parallel to his eyes, he gazed out into the distance.  The man scoped around, finally returning back to one spot.  He zoomed in and focused.  They had gotten pretty far already.  He zoomed further, getting a closer look at the squad of storm commandoes.  They were heading for the next underground passage, leading to the command center, he assumed.  Laughing and goofing off on their way there, they didn't seem at all like a military squad.  The man knew better though.  These VE soldiers were the same ones who slayed his entire squad moments before.  He never underestimated the forces of the Vast Empire.  But he loathed them.  He hated every single one of them with a passion.  His soul burned with rage as memories flowed into his brain.

    "Sir, you are dismissed!"

"But!" the young trooper began to complain.  He never got to finish, two big burly men grabbed him by the arm, dragging him out of the office.  He tried to fight back, kicking his feet furiously.  From a distance, he looked like a fish, caught in a net, flailing desperately and hopelessly.  The trooper was thrown into his squad barracks.  He fell onto the ground, looking up a the two men.

"Pack your bags, you have until tommorow.  There will be a shuttle waiting for you," said one of the men, in a deep tone.  The young adult looked up at the man, as if ready to kill him.  The men chuckled.  "Be glad we're letting you live.  You don't deserve to live after what you did."
"But!  I was framed!"  The trooper yelled, almost in a whiney tone.  It was hopeless and he knew it.  The men ignored him and left.  The door fell into place eventually, leaving the boy all alone.  It took him several hours to move.  For the first couple of hours, he just stood there, staring at the door.  As if mesmerized, he just stared on, a angry look on his face.  At last, he stood up, his blond hair shook a bit as he did.  He walked to his room with a lack of energy.  He opened the door, retrieving his stuff.

Days later, he found himself on the shuttle, being sent back to his home planet for small scale treachery.  He was framed but no one would believe him.  It was just lucky he was still alive.  Had it been for his friends pulling some strings for him, he would've been dead days hours ago.  There was still something left in life, he guessed.  Believing that there was a reason why everyone was born, he would spend the rest of his life, surviving at all costs, trying to find out why he was put in this world.  He joined Thrawn's forces later.  He had been invited to join due to the fact that his brother was already in it.

The man fixed his helmet.  It was loose and tattered, though the man didn't seem to care.  He started to walk, ignoring the cold.  Unhindered by the snow, he moved quickly towards the Wraith, determined to kill.

"So anyways, she never heard from me again."  Yillis chuckled as Snipes finished his story.  Talstorin smiled, walking behind them, dead in back of the squad.  The blizzard had subsided, the snow reduced to gentle falling flurries, though they were still plentiful.  When the squad returned above ground, they found most of Thrawn's forces occupied, their turrets and towers destroyed.  Seeing no point in sneaking around, which was especially hard with the frigid weather, the squad had decided to walk all the way to the next underground tunnel.  They were almost there, and from there they would attempt to infiltrate the command center.

Arnaut looked at his map, the map updating their current location as the squad moved.  They had just received orders to capture Fro-ja and Vaynus.  He walked along, staying in the very front, Draken right behind him.  Leth and Yoder were talking amongst themselves, the same for Snipes, Yillis and Talstorin.

"I love this snow," Talstorin said, smiling inside his helmet.

"I don't.  It's horrible.  Beaches.  Hot Beaches.  THAT'S my favorite place!" Snipes responded quickly.  He shook his head.  He hated this place, of all places for a mission, it had to be here.  The squad treaded on, finally walking down a slope in the snow.  They wandered inwards until they were beneath the ground.  Another underground tunnel, and this one leading to the mother load of security.  This is going to be a fun finisher. Arnaut thoughts came up with those words as he descended.

__________

The officer approached another officer in a small room located in the command center.  The officer that had walked in was shorter and much younger than the other one, making it obvious that he was off a lower rank.  The older one spoke.

"Has Delta Squad reported back yet?"

"No, we've lost signal with them.  It is possible they've been killed."

"How?  They are one of our best trained squads.  They'll be back, I have trust in them."  The younger one responded with a nod.

    "Are they that good?"

The old man looked at the younger one, staring down, giving a look that seemed to say, "Are you kidding me?"  He cleared his throat and began his answer.  "They are only below Delta 2 in skills when it comes to their job, special operations.  They are being lead by one of the most talented soldiers we have.  They will take out the VE squad.  I'm sure of it."

Unconvinced, the younger one went to the back of the room, accessing the database.  He looked up Delta Squad's squad leader background.  The old man continued to stare out the window, not budging an inch.  There was a long silence and when the younger officer finally walked back, his face was twisted in surprise.

"He's. . .quite a man.  And he's been in the Vast  Empire before?"

The older officer nodded.  "Discharged, for reasons that were not his fault.  But now he has a hate for them, something that comes to our advantage."  The younger officer chuckled, nodding along in agreement.

"Shall we wait longer then?" asked the younger officer at last.

To his surprise, the older officer answered in a different way than was expected.  "No.  Give Delta 2 orders to move out and guard the command center."  The younger officer backed up, confused.

"I thought you had trust in Delta."

"I do, but I've been commanding for several years now.  And I know, you can't base moves on trust of assumption.  If something is not certain, don't count on it.  A flawless plan  is part of the art of war."

The younger officer nodded and ran out of the room, ready to pass on these orders.  The door shut silently and the officer sat down.  He had a bad feeling about this.
_______
Leth hugged himself, rubbing his shoulders as he tried to stay warm.  The other's were doing the same.  Arnaut was absorbed into the datapad, getting more nervous with each step.  They were almost near the vicinity of the command center.  Arnaut had tried to think of many infiltration plans though so far, all of them were too risky.  He wanted to finish this mission with no casualties, as always.  He stopped suddenly, the rest of the squad stopped behind him.

"Tnepres, go back a few turns.  Make sure no one is near or following us.  Yoder, do a small scout forwards, don't go too forward though."  The two nodded at the squad leader's orders, leaving immediately.  Talstorin walked along the icy path, comfortable in the snow.  Surprisingly, he liked the cold and found it refreshing.  Of course the frigid air now was a bit extreme, however, it could still be enjoyed to some extent.  Talstorin walked further, stopping as he heard a sound.  It echoed throughout the tunnel.  He paused, waiting for someone to pop up.  No one came and eventually he bent down to pick up his pistol.

The man jumped out, placing a gun to Talstorin's head.  "Cooperate and I won't shoot, for now."  Talstorin stood up rigidly, the man brought his arm around the troopers neck.  The man was obviously stronger, Talstorin had no choice but to agree.  He nodded.  The man grinned.  "Where is the rest of your squad?"

Talstorin frowned at the question.  He was confused on how to answer.  Quickly, he thought of a response, hoping it would be the right one.  "They are at the end of the tunnel, though I would walk out slowly and let me talk to them first so they don't end up shooting me and you both."

The man nodded, pushing Talstorin forward.  "Lead.  Take a wrong turn and I'll blast your brains out.  Talstorin nodded and began to walk back, breathing deeply.  He was quite intimidated by the man, he had to admit.  Talstorin thought to himself, wondering about the man.  He must be one of the Deltas.  I guess we didn't kill every single one.  Well, I guess that teaches me a lesson.    He reprimanded himself in his thoughts as he walked.  The man walked close behind, keeping his gun aimed at the back of Talstorin's head.  Soon, they arrived back.

Arnaut turned to look up.  "Who the h-. . ."  He looked at the storm commando behind his trooper carefully.  "And you would be?"

Talstorin cut in.  "He's a delta."  The man pressed the point of the gun against Talstorin.  Arnaut didn't take chances.  He yelled quickly, shooting right after.  "DUCK!"  Talstorin ducked down as Arnaut fired at the man's torso.  Unfortunatly, the man ducked as well, the blast hitting the wall behind them.  Quickly, Talstorin hit the man with a left hook, pummeling him to the ground.  He kept his knees on the man's chest, making sure he was properly pinned.  Arnaut walked over, the rest of the squad following, including Yoder, who had gotten back already.  Talstorin jabbed at the man's head again.  His helmet rolled off with the impact, leaving Talstorin opened mouthed.  He instantly recognized the man underneath the helmet.  The face of the man who was responsible for introducing Talstorin to the Vast Empire ages ago.

He was about sixteen.  Talstorin wandered the streets, begging for food.  His stomach felt empty, supper had not been enough but he had no money left.  No one would spare food or money however, leaving Talstorin searching the streets, hoping for luck.  He scrounged the sandy floor for credits when he found himself before a stormtrooper.  He looked up, it was a squad.  "Apologies," said Talstorin, out of fright.  He got up to run but was stopped by the leader.  The leader took off his helmet, revealing a youthful man, blond spiky hair with emerald green eyes.

"Here, treat yourself to some dinner.  You're no use as a bag of bones."  The man smiled and handed Talstorin a pouch of credits.  Talstorin thanked him endlessly.  He gazed in awe at the trooper's armor.  Desert Troopers.  The man nodded and put his helmet back on, signaling his squad to continue moving.  Talstorin kept their isignia in mind, the Vast Empire insignia.  He promised to himself that he would grow up to be trooper, that way he could help others.  Of course, being still a child at the time, he forgot the promise eventually.  Not even after he joined the VE did he remember where he had heard of them from.  Not until now.

Talstorin looked at the man, saddened.  "I thought you were. . . part of the Vast Empire."  The man looked back.

    "Do I know you?"

Talstorin shook his head.  "If I took off my helmet you still wouldn't recognize me.  You gave me money to buy dinner when I was starving back on Tatooine."

The man thought to himself.  "Which one?  There were hundreds."

Talstorin smiled but then frowned again right after.  "So weren't you. . . part of -."

The man nodded.  "Used to be.  I don't want to talk about it.  We're on opposing sides after all.  I won't shoot.  I'm dead anyways."

Talstorin didn't let him up.  "Sorry, no can do.  I know you're not the kind to just give up."  The man frowned.

"Got me."  He laid there.  "Alright, how's this.  I won't forgive myself to die a peacefully.  I have honor.  You've won.  Take my weapons, and have me held against the wall.  The only thing I ask of you is a warriors exection."

Talstorin agreed, he owed this man.  The squad grabbed his weapons, taking out the ammo for their own.  The man got up and faced Talstorin.  Suddenly, the man winced, a red hot bullet shot through him, cutting Talstorin by the waist.  The man groaned, falling the floor.  He was dead.  Talstorin groaned as he held his waist, burning with pain.  Behind the fallen body stood another squad of storm commandos.

The squad leader spoke in a whisper.  "Sorry brother.  Rules are rules.  You betray us, you die."  He looked up, looking at the Wraith squad.  "To die is to lose everything.  Are you prepared?"

Arnaut narrowed his eyes.  The squad, save Talstorin, readied their carbines.  Arnaut took a step forward, his eyes glaring coldly at the leader of the opposing squad.  In a deep and serious tone, he spoke.  "Bring it."

The firing began. Arnaut backpedaled as fast as he could, squeezing off carbine shots as he did. Shots lanced past him with a marksman's precision. Or a special operations squad... A shot grazed his shoulder armor and he instinctively dropped to the ground. Wrong move.

In front of him a small canister, about the size of his forearm rested, pin removed. In one fluid motion, he snatched it up and hurled it through the air. Before cresting its arc, it exploded sending shrapnel flying through the air.

White hot pain surging through his left shoulder was the first sign he'd been hit. His left arm went numb; he could barely move it, and all feeling fled. Jumping to his feet in cold rage at having been hit from his--well, almost his--own grenade, he swung his gun to point toward the fog and began firing. Only, no return fire came. Slowly, he returned the carbine to his side. Around him, Wraith squad gathered together.

"I think...I think that grenade chased them off..." Yoder said weakly, limping on his right leg. When he saw Arnaut staring at his leg he was quick to reply, "Only a bruise, sir, it's just a bit numb. I'll be fine soon, I swear." Arnaut nodded at him.

"Alright, we may have just bought ourselves precious time. Men...let's move!" The squad lifted carbines and sped off, leaving naught but footprints in the snow, quickly fading with the wind.

* * *

Arnaut was breathing heavily, carbine gripped in his lively arm. His other arm hung limply at his side. Behind him, rasping breathes marked that Snipes and Yoder were still following him. He peered out into the snow across the path, but he couldn't make out any shapes. Clear enough. Motioning quickly, they sprinted across the path. They almost made it.

Halfway to the other side, a concussion grenade exploded directly over head. With a wheezing groan, the three were flattened to the ground. Tracer fire started to patter the snow around them, , vaporizing it into mist, forcing them to leap up and flee for the cover of fog on the other side of the path.

Now Arnaut was breathing heavier than ever. His arm ached and his shoulder burned. The pain threatened to overwhelm him, but by sheer force of will he was able to push it down. He motioned for the squad to creep along, and silently wondered where they had gone wrong.

The squad ran, the enemy all but forgotten since the grenade blast. They were alert, their carbines swinging to look every direction at once. Nothing but fog and swirling snow. Maybe they died in the blast, Arnaut thought hopefully. It was at that moment that the first grenade flew in. Lazily swirling through the air, the squad stared mesmerized at it for a second as it fell right in the midst of them, before jumping in opposite directions to avoid the blast. As Arnaut landed heavily, his left arm crunched at an odd angle beneath him, the grenade detonated. Snow blasted overhead, all but covering the squad.

Pushing his way through the snow, he returned fire from the direction that the grenade came. But another came from the exact opposite direction. The blast knocked him off his feet and forced him into another snow bank. The squad was spread out now, and the shots began coming in from multiple directions.

Yoder's gun was shot out of his hands with such force that he was knocked to his knees. Holstering his carbine, Arnaut grabbed him with his only useful arm from where he sat shocked, and started dragging out of the crossfire. Snipes ran up beside him.

"We're trapped, sir! And if you don't mind me saying, if I'd want to die anywhere, it'd not be here!" Snipes fired off more shots into the haze for all the good it did.

"Just help me get him out of here," Arnaut growled. The two of them grabbed the still dazed Yoder and pulled him up to his feet. Thankfully, he could still walk. The three ran.

The only thing Arnaut could hear was the wind whistling past his helmet. Slowly he pulled his datapad out with his almost operational left arm, wincing at the pain. The shrapnel had been removed, and slowly, but painfully, his arm was getting better.

Arnaut stared at the map. If he was correct, which he very much doubted he was, they should be just a few meters from the command post. But there was no way they were going to get in, much less capture the two men responsible for this whole mess, without the entire squad. Arnaut cursed under his breath.

"Alright, keep moving, we have to find out where the rest of the squad is."

Yoder was coming to, finally regaining his wits. They found him a gun off a dead trooper in the snow. Presumably one they had killed a while ago. It was too much to hope that any of the special ops were dead yet.

As they trudged through the blinding snow, they weren't sure where anyone else had gone. The storm had long since rendered their helmet comms unoperational. Arnaut's arm was still limp, but he didn't seem to notice anymore. All his focus was on finding the squad.

Suddenly, the snow itself gathered up, as tall as Arnaut. No, not the snow, men. Arnaut lunged at the first man, bashing to the ground with his carbine. A kick in the ribs doubled him over, though, as the second man came around the side of Arnaut. A red bolt lanced through the man's leg, making him stumble backwards before he could fire at Arnaut. The man Arnaut had had pinned to the ground was fleeing now. Arnaut squeezed a few shots after him, but they were badly aimed and none found their mark. Yoder and Snipes were firing at the second man now and he too fled into the snow.

Arnaut, frustrated, punched the snow sending small puffs into the air. All he could do was keep moving and hope they didn't find more trouble.

Arnaut stalked low. He had seen something. Holding his carbine ahead of him, he crept forward. A man was stalking, just like Arnaut, not a meter from Arnaut's position. Slowly moving up to him, he quickly slide a knife past his throat. The man coughed and dropped to the snow, the pure white already staining red. Ahead of him a man stood up, shocked at the noise. A man that had a blue marker above his head, displayed by Arnaut's HUD. A squad member.

"Kanderin!" Arnaut said cheerily. Kanderin rushed over to his squad members.

" I was beginning to think you guys had forgotten me," he said crouching down next to Arnaut.

"Never!" Yoder said chuckling.

Arnaut pushed over the man he had just killed and was relieved to see that it wasn't one of his own. For a second, he had been scared of that. Shaking off the feeling, he picked his carbine back up. It was time to move again.

Raiders

Rogueboy flipped a dead snowtrooper over and looked at the armour, it was scratched up but it was too small for Leon, but the helmet would fit him perfectly; speaking of which Rogue needed a helmet as well considering he left his in the trench with the broken E-web. Rogue rolled over a few more bodies until he found something he thought would match Leon, Rogue began stripping the soldier out of his armour removing the pieces and putting them aside. The trooper was left in his underwear as Rogue took his cape and put all the armour inside, tying it up he made it into a sack, hoisting it over his shoulder Rogue made his way back to Raider squad.

A lot of people have a problem with robbing the dead but Rogue did not, the way he looked at it is unless they were buried and he was not desecrating anything the dead wouldn't need it anyways. Rogue hurried back to where the Raiders were waiting for him.

"This is Rogue, I'm coming up from the trenches hold your fire."

"Alright, if anyone fires I will rip off their hands force them to fire their blasters with their teeth, got it?"

Rogue chuckled. "Thanks Sarge."

"Anytime trooper."

Rogue closed the last couple of feet towards the squad and gave Leon the armour.

"You know what to do with this, right?"

"Yeah, I do but who are you?"

Rogueboy slapped his face in mock disbelief. "I'm Rogueboy, call me Rogue and I saved your ass on more than one occasion...and you owe me fifty creds."

Darr laughed. "Leon ignore this fool, just remember I'm your Squad Leader, Aphamos." Darr gestured to Aph. "Is your assistant squad leader, listen to us and we will try to see you safely through this. Now we have an issue how do we get through these walls? Any suggestions?"

Five minutes later and Rogue couldn't believe what the hell was going to happen, he was walking with Darr, Squall, and Aeos. Aphamos, Leon, Preditor, and Rayden were to remain near the trenches and to observe the main gates with macrobinoculars. Rogue still coudn't believe that he forgot to get his helmet as they approached the main gate. Darr raised his hand to stop.

"Keep your eyes open, we should be nearing Thrawn's forces."

Rogue sighed this was the part he hated the most. Blaster bolts were fired down at the four Raiders, Rogue dove and looked for a spot of cover but there was nothing nearby. Rogue saw that Darr was down and was wriggling in pain, Aeos and Squall had dropped their rifles and put their hands up, Rogue rushed to Darr throwing his rifle down in the mean time. The shot has hit Darr in the chest and while it didn't go through the armour it had melted a bit of it and was burning Darr's skin, Rogue rolled Darr over and pressed him against the snow. Rogue heard the crunch of snow and turned around, his head had a meeting with the butt of a rifle.

Aeos winced as the rifle met hard with Rogue's exposed face. He blacked out almost instantly. His nose most likely broken.
Squall forgetting about his own predicament jumped from his position and was about to bolt to Rogue's side, when the back of his neck also met with an rifle. He crumpled instantly to the ground, leaving only Darr-Rann and Aeos conscious.

The assaulting trooper bent down over to Squall and removed his helmet and threw it into the snow.
He jerked his hand to the two stormtroopers surrounding them and motioned his hand to Aeos and Darr-Rann. The two troopers gave a nod in response and one of them stepped up to Aeos. Her helmet faced the same bleak future as Squall's helmet along with Darr-Rann's. Destroying the last shred of comunication with the others.

Aeos cautiously held her hands up and stepped back. The trooper raised his rifle and Aeos halted. She could hear Darr-Rann moaning softly as he tried to stand up, but with every movement he made, his amour shifted. The amour was still burned to the core of his skin tearing the flesh slowly yet steadily.

Suddenly someone grabbed her arms from behind, and she felt the cold metal of cuffs through the fabric of her sleeves clasped around her wrists.
She glanced at the, what she assumed was the leader, confused.
Why take us prisoner?

Rogue was coming by slowly, as well as Squall, both already cuffed, and Darr-Rann in the process of being cuffed. Aeos winced as she jabbed in the back  by an rifle. She noticed from the corner of her eyes Darr-Rann roughly pulled upright earning a yell at the sudden movement.

*In the Prison Cell*
"Don't you find this odd? They should have killed us on the spot," muttered Rogue.
"I agree with, oww!" Darr-Rann glared at Aeos as she carefully removed pieces of the amour stuck to his open wounds. Upon their entrance into the cell, she had him remove his amour. It proved difficult being melted to his skin. Darr-Rann tried to seem content with his situation and refused to remove his amour, forcing Rogue to pin him down, while Aeos tried to pry the amour loose from his skin.

The cell was fairly basic. A simple square with one bunk, and a basin. A bright light was swinging from the celling, flickering ever so often.

Squall lied sprawled on the ground, a dark cut ran down the side of his head where it made another hard clash with the back of a rifle. Rogue had torn off his cape to serve as some form of pillow and bandage for Squall's head. Aeos suspected he would be unconsciouses at least for the next few hours though the Vast Imperial Stormtroopers was of much harder substance then the average man, so she may be surprised.

"Darr keep still!" muttered Aeos in frustration when Darr-Rann jerked. They were using pieces of his cape to use a bandage.  Aeos carefully peeled another particle of amour away from his skin earning a grunt as Darr-Rann clenched his teeth. They needed to remove as many particles as possible before anything would enter the bloodstream and caused blood poisoning.

Rogue rubbed his face in a disgruntled fashion as he seated himself on the on the bunk next to Darr-Rann.
"Anything I can help with?"
"Getting us out would help," muttered Aeos sarcastic as she scanned Darr-Rann's torso for more particles.
Rogue sighed.
"No, can't do Ma'am,"
"I think....they want... to interrogate us...": Darr-Rann managed to say through clenched teeth, when Aeos pressed damp cloth against the burnt skin and open wounds.
"They are losing already, what difference would that make?"
Aeos shook her head in ignorance.
"Truly dunno, "

The tunnel filled with groans as the shrapnels were shot out.  The sounds echoed off the walls, reinforcing the volume.  Talstorin sat in his little niche, a hole in the ice that lead to a tiny space, hardly large enough to fit a sitting person.  His eyes were shut, his mind focused on thoughts, on emotions.  The rest of the squad was above ground now, though Talstorin had not noticed.  All that rushed through his mind was the urge to kill.  His mind clouded in a thick blanket of the single though.  The Delta Squad Leader was to be avenged.

Leth and Yillis drudged through the thick snow, searching for the rest of the squad.  The wind was blowing heavily again, a sign of a new storm.  They took big steps, not moving very quickly through the snow.  Little did they know that they were behind Delta Squad 2, who were chasing after the rest of the Wraiths.  Leth muttered as he walked, his bones cold, his skin itched in pain.  The two walked in silence, like two strangers walking side by side.  They both held their carbines, Yillis held his tucked under his arm, Leth had cradled his.  With a heavy breath, Leth collapsed in the snow, falling to the left.  Yillis caught him and smacked the helmet lightly.  "No slacking off, trooper."  Leth nodded and got up, mustering his strength before continuing to trek forward.

The Squad leader looked up.  A storm was coming again soon.  He stopped his troops.  Dividing up the squad in half, he sent the other half to continue the pursuit.  The man in the black shining storm commando armor sat down with the rest of his group.  He looked back, reaching for his micro binoculars.  He had to zoom a couple of times to see something.  He found two leftover enemies struggling to walk.  A grin fell on his face.  Perfect targets, slow, unsuspecting and divided.  He ordered his group to take positions, the group of 4 troopers following immediately.  They brought out their whisper sniper rifles, taking aim.

_______

Talstorin got out of the crevice, the tunnel was filled with metal barbs, several stuck in the late Delta Leader body.  Talstorin crouched next to the cadaver, closing it's eyes.  He got up again, his eyes burning with fire.  Taking a deep breath, he walked forward, bloodthirsty.  He ran out of the tunnel quickly, finding himself outside, in the snow.  Heavy winds blew the snow across the floor like dust and powder.  He zoomed with his helmet.  Yillis and Leth were up ahead.  Talstorin ran forward, keeping his eyes open for enemies.

_______

The Delta 2 Leader walked along the thickened hardened snow, leaving his squad behind.  They would handle the stragglers in the back.  He was more interested with the boy behind them.  From the damages on the troopers armor, he knew it was the boy that had talked to his brother before the man had shot him.  He didn't want to do it, but laws were laws, and if you didn't follow them, you were punished.  The leader saw his brothers death not as his own fault but as the troopers.  For this reason, he was going to kill him, personally.  The commando walked smoothly and calmly, hands rested on his blaster.  In the forces they called him the winter wolf, named for his quickness of the hunt.  The white wolf headed for the trooper, who had seen him now, blaster ready.  He stopped and sent a well aimed shot straight at the troopers head.

__________

Talstorin ducked quickly, the shots hitting the snow behind him, turning it to mist quickly.  More shots came, spread out and rapid.  Talstorin maneuvered around, avoiding the shots as he readied his carbine.  He shot back when the mist cleared, missing horribly, his left arm getting hit again, the outer side burned.  He fell to his knees in pain, his waist still hurting.  More shots came, unmercifully.  A great rush of emotion came over him as he dodged the shots.  He remembered his anger, grabbing his carbine with one hand and shot, the power causing him to take a step back.  The shot was well aimed, and would've hit the trooper in the chest.

The Wolf sidestepped, using his own blaster as a shield.  The gun fell to the floor, a half melted blaster now.  He grabbed the nearest object, a long metal pole, razor sharp on both sides and charged.  Talstorin had just recovered when he was hit in the face with the pole.  The trooper fell back, blood dripping from inside his helmet.  His cheek hurt so much though the helmet ironically was undented.  The carbine fell out of his hand, buried into the snow.  It was out of reach.  Talstorin cursed as he jumped out of the way of a second swing, searching his belt for weapons.  At last, he found what he was looking for.  He brought out a small metal rod, intricate in decoration.  The man laughed as he swung, expecting an easy fight.

Talstorin pressed a button on his customized weapon.  It was designed with a couple of perks, compact and stylish.  However, it's charge was reduced greatly, not having as much chance of killing the enemy as the original.  As the button was pressed, the slender rod extended on both sides, the tips were claw like shards which opened like a hand.  Red electricity ignited from the tips.  His electrostaff blocked the swing, sturdy enough to sustain the blow with no problem at all.  The White Wolf hissed.  "You're going to pay for my brothers death!"  With that, he lunged forward, swing at Talstorin's ribs.

Talstorin's anger blazed with excitement now, quickly parrying the attack, pivoting to the left, swinging his staff back, catching the man with a slam to the back of the neck.  The man fell, and Talstorin stabbed down.  The Wolf rolled to the side, the electricity turning the ice to mist.  The man emerged from the mist, hacking at Talstorin's feet, tripping the trooper.  He followed up by stabbing down, only to be blocked by the staff.  Talstorin got up quickly with a spin, slashing at the man's guts in the process of the swirl.  The man jumped back, slamming his rod at Talstorin's extended and exposed hands.  Talstorin let go with one hand, his hand hurting a lot.  Ignoring the pain, he backed up then suddenly ducked, swinging the staff at the man's hip, smashing into it.  The man staggered from the blow, leaving Talstorin with enough time to swing another time at him.  The man fell back from the impact.

The white wolf frowned, looking into the visor of his opponent.  The figure ahead of him was hunched, breathing deeply.  The trooper struck again, quickly hitting the squad leader in the chest, sending a shock down his body as he fell.  The trooper's performance had improved with every attack.  Had he been learning?  Each of his strikes were faster and more smoothly connected than the last.  It was unfortunate the White Wolf was famous for long distance battles, not melee.  The man got up tripping Talstorin and as the trooper fell, the man sent a blow at his ribs.

Talstorin felt with a sharp pain at his sides.  He could hardly breath but still, he could not feel the pain, swallowed in anger.  He flipped upwards, kicking the man back and landed, immediately stabbing at the man's chest.  The man smacked the staff out of the way with his rod.  Talstorin's hand caused the staff to continue to move in the direction in which it was sent, his body spinning with it.  The other end of the staff ended the spin with the slam at the other side of the man, catching him by surprise.  The man fell, and Talstorin smashed down at him with the staff.  The man rolled around, avoiding each assault.  He at last pushed Talstorin away, getting up and took a breath.  Talstorin waited and grinned.  The White Wolf looked at the trooper confused and was suddenly hit by a spray of snow.  He backed up, clearing the snow off his visor, not soon enough however, to prepare for Talstorin's final attack.  Talstorin turned up the voltage in the staff and lunged.

The man looked straight as he had his sight again, feeling a sudden violent shock.  He screamed and writhed in pain, falling back, numb.  He looked up for one last second.  His vision was filled with red.  He heard a crack as he felt the staff break through the visor.  The talon like claws stabbed into his eyes.  The White Wolf screamed in pain, he felt the liquid from his eyes drip down his face.  The staff was pushed in deeper, breaking through the skull.  The Squad Leader took one last breath, and died, in the middle of inhaling.

Talstorin looked down at the dead body, satisfied.  He shook his staff, wiggling it free, turning off the voltage.  It dripped with blood, the drops fell onto the dead man's armor.  He crossed the man's arm against his chest.  Bending down, he retrieved the man's weapon, the metal rod, and stuck the sharpened end down with force.  The rod went through the body, penetrating the body just above the crossed arms, the end jutted out from the man's back, spraying droplets of blood against the white snow.  Talstorin looked up and thought for moment before leaving.  Behind him, the wind blew again, erasing his footsteps as soon as he made.

Snipes hissed inside his armor, dodging backwards as another bolt flew his way, he released a spray of his own, then dropped the empty weapon into the snow. He didn't know where this squad was hiding, but he didn't really care, they needed to get into the command center soon. They didn't have the ammunition for an extended blaster fight, himself and Draken were down to their pistols, Yoder was half way through his last clip, and Arnaut was in no condition to reload anything, he was losing a lot of blood and therefor a lot of body heat. Snipes bit his lip as he backpedaled in roughly the direction of the command center. He was watching the rear as Arnaut led them to the building.

Snipes kept seeing shapes in the snow, and sometimes lights, he could never quite be sure, he tried to ignore them, unless he could see a being shoot at him he wasn't going to waste is precious ammo firing at shadows. Of course the shadows weren't his only distractions, the snow was difficult to walk through, the storm was hard to see through and the damnable cold was hard live through. Snipes prayed to the stars that they would find the building.

And then they did.

They almost stumbled into it, the visibility being as poor as it was. Of course they didn't find the door first, they fallowed the building for several meters before they did that. And when they did find the niche that obviously held the door they saw a pair of dark shadows crouched next to it, probably less than two meters away. Snipes gripped his pistol tighter.

Then Draken tapped Snipes on the shoulder, when he turned to meet Drakens eyes the junior trooper tapped his helmet, next to the visor. It took Snipes a second to think about it, but then he realized he'd turned the TacNet off in the hanger for better visibility, he switched it on and looked around.

And much to his relief the shadows by the door had little blue dots over their heads.

Snipes was the first to step forward, quickly towards the door, only to be driven back by bolts from the distance, the squad mates in the door though laid down a spray of covering fire. Snipes ducked into a crouch and ran into the doorway, fallowed by the others. Snipes was surprised and pleased to find the door already blown open, another of the squad standing inside, keeping an eye on the corridors. Snipes quickly hurried inside.

Once that group made it inside the two that had been watching the door way backed inside quickly, knowing that the back drop of light gave their enemies an advantage. So the squad quickly rounded a corner, grouping up then with Yoder and Leth keeping an eye on the blown open door. The rest of the squad wasted no time with explanations, there would be time enough for those when the mission was over, which was something they were all looking forward to.

"Alright we need to try and get to the upper level, it's likely that's where Vaynus will be, top level, middle room, it's the tactical room. Big, round, lots of buttons. If he's not there then I'm going to assume he's in the commanders quarters. And, if i know anything of Imperial Procedure and Prejudice, Fro-Ja will be in the brig, one level down, southwest corner. All things considered he'll be lightly guarded, so we're going for Vaynus first, lets go, we don't have much time. Leth, Yoder, stay here and secure our exit." Arnaut was quick and precise with his briefing, no time to waste.

"Sir, my comms back on line, I think each of ours will come back in a few minutes, once the ice melts."

"Good."

Snipes twirled his pistol, suddenly his comm crackled, letting him know it was back. He smiled as they got into the turbo lift door. What weapons they had left at the ready. Snipes had to miss his shotgun, he'd always found it perfect in places like this. Snipes almost said something about it, but the opening of the turbo lift doors interrupted him. He hopped into the empty hallway first, his pistol at the ready, but there was nothing, likely most of the people had evacuated to the underground tunnels or were fighting outside. It was hard to tell which. But as long as there was no resistance, Snipes didn't really care about the whys.

And at least it's bloody warm in here.

Riqimo slowly went up the stairway to the second floor, keeping his gun high and his head low, he was ready to fire at the first enemy to present his or her self.

A tech was starting to come down, reading a datapad, Riqimo fired at the man's head and was about to pull the pin off a grenade top throw up over the stair rail, but Typex stopped him by grabbing Riq's hand.

"That would destroy the communications equipment.  If you do that I can't fill their entire channels with white noise."
"Oh yeah, sorry," Riqimo said as he stuck his grenade back into his belt and ran up the stairs to find no one in the area.

"All clear guys, they must be all behind some of these doors," Riqimo motioned to them to come up.

"There's loud music behind this one," Jelly called out.  The squad came over to listen.
"Country music..." Garet muttered, "These bastards deserve to die, let's get them."

The squad got ready to rush in and on a count of three, Garet kicked the door down.  Garet and Jelly rushed in first, then Typex and Riqimo blocked the doorway, carefully aiming their shoots to avoid hitting either of their squad mates.  Once the room was cleared, Garet picked up the radio and threw it out a nearby window.

"Ow, what the hell?" a voice came from the ground, Garet stuck his head out the window, "Uh, sorry guys, err, they were playing country music..."

Garet came back in, "I hit one of our own squads, Dragoons I think."
Riq just shrugged, "Well he sounded alright."

The squad quickly finished the rest of the floor, in which only three weaponless techs were still working, unaware of the recent events on their floor due to the loud music playing earlier.

Jag being point and Phenix behind him with RK covering the rear they where moving slowly towards the door to take them to the lower levels. Jag looking at the door realised that it was locked from the other side. Phenix taking out a grenade to blow the door open stepped forward but Jag stopped him.

"You don't think I kept a small amount of explosive left?" Jag asked taking out what appeared to be a piece of clay. He tuck it to the side of the door and when they were a safe distance away Jag shot the small piece of explosive with his pistol triggering the chemicals to explode. After the explosion before the dust settled a blaster bolt came through the dust nearly hitting Jag but just missing. Without thinking Jag ran forward and diving through the door he knocks the trooper off balance and they both go through the air down a flight if stairs.

Jag using the troopers weight against him they managed to land at an awkward angle with the Thrawn trooper taking the bulk of the impact. Jag shakily got up picking up his shotgun as the others ran down the stairs after Jag. When they reached him Phenix asked, "Are you all right?"

"Fine," Jag replied, "Although there might be some serious bruising later of course." They walked on through the open door to make sure it was clear before proceeding. When they walked in all there was, was a few crates, "Must be spare parts for the comm equipment upstairs." They walked on down the next steps after sweeping the room.

The bottom of the stairs led to the underground tunnel. When Jag opened the door He made sure it was clear before Phenix and RK followed. "OK, were gonna give the others up stairs more time than they need to complete the objective. Take up positions so we can defend the entrance."

Jag walking around the corner came face to face with an enemy trooper but with honned reflexes Jag brought up his shotgun and blasted the Thrawn trooper on to his back five feet away.

Riqimo heard a small explosion and the tower shook a little.
What the... I hope the others are alright, that was a little too big to be a grenade

"Alright boys, there are three more floors above us, we can do this," Garet said as the squad cautiously move up the stairs.

"If the tower doesn't topple over," Jelly muttered.

Garet gave the hand signal to stop, and peeked over the base of the stairs.  Garet came on the comlink and wispered, "They got five guards there. Riq you get the one on the right, Typex, the one on the left, Jelly you take the middle one, Once you take yours out fire at any other guard you see then the techs."

Holding up three fingers, Garet slowly ticked them off, two... one...

The squad rushed up the stairs and fired at their designated targets, only fifty seconds had passed before the room was cleared of Thrawn troopers.

The commotion must have been heard upstairs as several guards began rushing down the steps.  The squad had the advantage of cover however, and easily picked them off.  Garet, Jelly, and Riqimo hurried up to take the techs before they could send a message out.  Meanwhile Typex pulled a dead tech out of a chair and began his task of blocking Thrawn communications.

"Typex, everything alright down there?" Garet leaned over the guard rail of the floor above.

"Yeah, they were so considerant to leave the security on the computer open for me."

"Great, we're moving up, we'll be back after we take the next level and check the roof."

Narga walked through the snow, his rifle clicking softly as it tapped against his armor. The snow made eddies around his shoulders as it blew past, but he didn't notice. He rarely did on this planet anymore. Somewhere, in the distance, a battle raged, as told by the booming explosions and the thumps of artillery fire in the distance. He didn't notice that either. Or, more precisely, he made himself not notice the distant roar. It wasn't that he was afraid of battle. Far from it. He'd seen battle many times before. Just...a battle in which they were losing didn't sound appetizing to Narga at all.

So here he walked. Trotted really. Trotted though the base, away from the great jaws of war. Though, he wasn't sure he was even safe here. Garbled reports on the comm systems had reported an infiltration squad in the midst of the base. Narga snorted to himself. Like the Vast Empire could be winning enough to get a squad in this heavily fortified base, but then...there had been the explosions earlier. He shuddered to remember them. So close. So close. Even if there were any troopers in the base, their Delta squads could handle it. At least that what he kept halfheartedly telling himself.

Looking up, he realized he'd ended up at the command post. If any place was safe, it would have to be--wait. A shadow next to the building seemed to move. And grow. Slowly, it became a man. Narga took a step back, which was when the blow landed on his head. Reeling, he flopped to the snow like a dead fish. A sharp kick in the gut squeezed the air out of him, and another, he was sure, broke his leg. Huddled on the snow, whimpering to himself, the shadows loomed over him. The leader of them, it seemed to Narga at least, kicked off his helmet with such force that it broke his nose.

Narga tried to push himself up, drops of blood falling from his nose to make dark spots on the snow. He succeeded in getting another kick in the gut. The leader rolled him on his back, gripping his chin, and pulled him face to face. Well, face to visor.

"Now. You are going to do as we tell you, exactly as we tell you, if you value your life. Understand?"

Narga nodded as meekly as he could, holding back the tears of pain and fear as much as he could. He tried to stay out of the battle. Tried desperately. And here he was in the thick of it again.

"We've got a prisoner," came D'har's voice over the comm to Arnaut. "He could be our ticket to Vaynus."

"Well hurry inside," he responded, "and I hope he's not beat up too badly."

"Oh, don't worry, he can still breathe." Arnaut shook his head ruefully. He hoped this would work.

It had been Snipes' plan to use a person from the compound as means of entering. Just make him walk in first, accompanied by some tale about Vaynus needing a guard or something, then use him as a meat-shield to capture Vaynus. In Arnaut's mind, it worked out perfectly, but he was starting to have doubts. Firstly, it wasn't the best plan in existence. There were so many things that could go wrong. And secondly...well, Arnaut hadn't thought of a 'secondly' yet and hoped he didn't have to find out.

The rest of the squad was slowly converging on the compound, and then they would have this mission almost complete, but the other Deltas were still out there. Arnaut knew they hadn't seen the last of them yet.

For once, none of the Dragoons were in immediate danger. Everyone was aboard the only surviving repulsortank, secretly fighting through the pain of their injuries. Zafo stared blankly at the ground, rubbing the huge bruise on his arm caused by the close encounter with the anti-mech units. His mind was not present with his body on the battlefield, but wishing he was back on that relaxing beach on Cepany. Kami's order pulled him out of his semi-comfort zone.

"Huh?" uttered Zafo, pulling his mind back into his body.

"We're ramming that gate down." Kami replied, her voice absolutely confident that the plan was near flawless. It seemed she had completely forgotten the near disaster with the Hovervan and the AT-ST.

"The tank isn't in very good shape..." Zafo's voice had more than a slight hint of a concerned element.

"I don't really see any other way." Replied Sam. His voice lacked the confidence Kami's had, but he remained convinced that it was the best way.

A wave of anxiety swept over Zafo. He knew that there was a good chance that their plan would work, but there was also too big a chance that it wouldn't, and all their lives would be ended then and there, right on the doorstep of the facility. In his panicked state, he raced through his mind in search of some piece of information that might help them. Then it came.

"Slow down!" Zafo shouted, his body becoming slightly more relaxed. The gunnery sergeant got down on his hands and knees and started staring at the floor. He crawled around for a couple of seconds until his fingers tightened around what he was looking for. He pulled up on the small metal ring which opened a compartment beneath the floor. Inside the compartment was a huge steel shovel of sorts.

"I need everyone's help, we gotta attach this to the front of the tank."

"Are you crazy?" Urakai shouted, "We'll be sitting ducks!"

"There is a higher chance that we'll survive sitting here for five minutes, than crashing into that gate in our current state." Zafo replied calmly, looking at Sam and Kami for support.

"He's got a point, hurry up."

By now the blizzard was in full swing. The massive amounts of blowing snow cut visibility down to mere meters. The outside world around them was all just a haze of snow, expect for the occasional flicker of light off in the distance. It took the entire squad to carry the shovel out to the front of the tank. It wasn't long after that Zafo had the shovel secured to the front of the tank, ready for action.
Once the squad was safely back in the tank, Sam floored the accelerator, tossing everyone towards the back on the tank. The view outside the viewport was blank, but a faint brighter spot ahead flagged their destination. Sam relied on the vehicle's sensors to monitor exactly where they were.

"We're under two minutes out," Sam said, give the squad a chance to prep for impact.

"Zaf, any words of advice? Im sure you know this thing almost inside out."

"Here, I'll set it up so you just have to push this button immediately before impact. What it will do is transfer all the energy to the tank's shields and heavy laser." Zafo's hands raced over some controls as he spoke.

"When we are within range, two people should fire the grenade launchers at the gate; one on each side. The immediate temperature change will temporarily make the gate more brittle. The heavy laser should be fired right as we are making contact."

"You all got that?" Kami demanded. The whole squad nodded. "Then get to your positions already!"

Durandal and Sayah both picked up a grenade launcher and made their way to the hatch. Zafo quickly trotted over to the gunman's chair and set up the heavy laser. His fingers were sweating on the inside of his armor as he gripped the firing mechanism.

"Grenades away!" Sam hollered at the top of his lungs. Within seconds, the two green dragoons popped out of the hatch and let loose a pair of grenades. As quickly as they popped out, they sunk back in, getting themselves into a secure position for impact.

"Alright guys, this is it."

"Impact in five, four..."

The lights shut off as Sam hit the switch that had been set up by Zafo. All the power was now diverted to the shields and laser. An electrifying hum sounded as all the extra energy was transferred, supercharging the heavy laser cannon and shield.

"ONE!"

Zafo pulled repeatedly on the firing mechanism, sending massive pockets of energy into the gate. The tank shook violently as it made impact with the gate, tossing Zafo from his seat to the ground. Blinded by the darkness, Zafo scrambled to secure himself, but was crushed by someone else falling. He screamed in agony as his arm was crushed between the floor and a fully clad soldier. When at last the tank stopped shaking, everything was still in the darkness.

"You all okay?" Sam inquired, his voice slightly stuttering.
Each squad member managed to let out some sort of groan.

"Enemy forces are running for the tank!" Kami shouted, staring out the viewport.
"Let's show em' what the Dragoons are made of!"

"As if charging through their gate wasn't enough," Zafo thought with a chuckle.
