Hey, guys.  Just letting you know I'm still alive here.  Still trying to handle real life stuff.  I check in on occasion, but I don't have a whole lot of time for fun stuff at the moment.  I don't expect to be posting on a regular basis again until I get into a place of my own in the early part of the new year, so I'm still on leave for the time being.  Take care, all.

ATTENTION

Act III has officially begun. All posts now should take place either just before, or during the news bulletin. I'll post up the second part of this in a couple of days, which will have us all in the air. In the mean time, feel free to scramble to your fighters.

As Cali said, focuse on the moral issues here: How do you feel? How are you coping? But don't get too heavy with it, remember we've also just come under attack, so that must be dealt with as well.

My next post will have me being breifed by Lt. Grey as to what our objectves are for this act. This will act as your indirect briefing as well. Assume I relay the information of screen.

Sanjiro, you're now written in, and can start writing. Gunnay, you can start writing too, but I'm not writing you in properly. Will PM you the details.

ACT III - Combat Briefing

Ok everyone, the final Act is in full swing. Here are some facts that can help you contextualise the information (although you may not be able to use it in posts).

The Situation: Lieutenant Grey had planned a trap for the pirates by luring them to attack the station, whereby they would be summarily crushed. However, the Pirates, for whatever reason, decided to attack early and on the other side of the planet. The effect is still more or less the same:

Typhus is lightly defended, and so easy prey.

The pirates are hitting everywhere at the moment, althoug they are mainly using smaller ships to attack the local merchant vessels. The main ships are staying put for the moment, and only mobalising to deal with real threats.

Enemy Forces:

1 x Escort Carrier

2 x Strike-class Cruiser

6+ x starfigher* squadrons and assorted Gunboats.

I've purposefully left the numbers vague for now, just in case I need some extra leeway later. Suffice to say however, they Pirates are spread thin and are attacking all over the place for maximum effect. Because we have little to retaliate with however, it means they can get away with it this time.

* To allow some creativity, all the pirate squadrons will be 'Uglies', so they can be whatever configuration you wish, provided they match their purpose ("fighter", "bomber" etc...)


Our (current) forces:

2 x Carrack-class light Cruisers (Hyperion & Estonia)

6+ x starfighter squadrons.

Again, leaving this vague for much the same reason.

The Anaconda was also a Carrack-class cruiser, but since thats about to be defeated, you needn't concern yourself with it.

Current Objective:

Two enemy squadrons: 1 bomber and 1 fighter squadron, are bearing down on Badejoz space station in an attempt to hit the station before fighters launch. At the moment, only Viper Squadron, a TIE Fighter squadron, and a TIE Bomber squadron are in the air, but for all intensive purposes we're on our own.

Our first objective is to neutralise the bombers, and then dogfight with the fighters. We'll have help eventually, but since we're the fastest ships in the air, we'll be able to intercept first and take out the bombers.
