For those of you that weren't at the meeting today; Fleet Admiral Japheth has retired. We will all surely miss him.
Therefore, we will be moving all Naval personal into a new detachment in the Army. All Navy members are to report to Major General Cosmic to begin your basic training to get you familiar with the Army.
All Navy members will keep an equivalent rank in the Army once we move you over on the roster.

All I can say is that this better be true. This was brought up four years ago (by me) and I think it is a brilliant idea. Do not disappoint me by stating later that this is a big joke.
I will say though that I hope Heth's retirement is a joke.

January 22, 2004: Japheth gets promoted to NCC. Kadann makes the following statement in response to proposals over the past 2 years for a merger of the navy into the army:
"I will not be disbanding the Navy division. The only problem I see with the Navy right now is that there is no strong command staff to run it. Without proper command, members will wander about aimlessly not knowing what to do. Therefore the members will become bored and not care to participate. A lot has changed in 3 years Art.
By making this move, we can now combine the leadership of the Army with that of the Navy (minus Japheth). This way, we form a stronger leadership base to help build up the new Marine Corps within the Army. -----------------------

if Raiders spec is multi environment and from missions that have come to pass and what not wouldnt this be infringing on our specialty? Also shouldnt some form of navy be implied to the army? just to make it seem like the army isnt losing some of its specialness.

All of it was a joke. Japheth didn't retire, the Navy didn't disband, and the Navy stock is the same as it was pre-april-fools.
