Ok heres what i think it is.
I believe Love cannot truly be defined because we only experience little of it. God gives us the ability to really love someone but only God knows the full extent of this thing.
Love is not a simple emotion its a whole other thing.
Its on a Psychical,Mental,Emotional, and Spiritual level all at the same time.

You know it with all your being when it is love.

Also Love comes with time.
Thats what I think.

You can turn other emotions off sometimes but as i said Love truly isnt an emotion.

I think Amason has pretty much hit the nail on the head.  We talk about love as an emotion but love is first and foremost an action.  Love can be an act of kindness, of reaching out and placing someone's needs, dreams, or aspirations ahead of your own.  Love can be an act commitment and devotion in which one's dreams, aspirtations, resources, needs, emotions, and thoughts are shared mutually with someone else.  Love can be an act of passion though to me this is the cheapest form of love; an act of passion generally has a self-interested component to it whereas true love should place the other person(s) ineterests as at least equal if not greater.

Now this definition probably seems rather broad but love is broad.  I do not think it wrong to state that those who work with charities, donate, contribute, give their time, help others in need, set aside their own interests once in a while for those of others, and, in essence, accept the moral demands of affluence and the moral demands of a shared humanity do indeed engage in acts of love.  A broad definition of love does not water it down if we have a shared understanding of its meaning and are not disingenuous or cheapen it.  Love is one of the most powerful actions a human being can exhibit and morally it is the most satisfying and correct one.

That's my opinion at least.

Falling in and out of love is a choice you make.  When it comes to a relationship with a spouse, you have to decide to love that person despite their faults.

I don't mean this to get mushy be any means, but the last two years have really changed my view of what love is.  I have a two year old and an eight month old.  Both girls.  The bond that I feel with them, is unlike anything I've ever experienced.  It goes beyond just putting their needs, wants, and well being before mine.  They're a part of me now.  They become a larger part everyday, as I choose to love them more and more.
