I cant really compare them. I mean, I'm a member of both, and they are just sorta different to me. The characters, the writing styles, and the plotlines. I like them both. -----------------------

Yeah. The only difference that makes the Army side better, if by only a little bit, is that they have more activity. That's the only real thing that can be compared in my oppinion. -----------------------

I was in both divisions, but decided to drop the Navy and stick with the Army because I had more responsibility in the Corps, and plus I didn't know much about TIE fighter specs that well. I didn't have any flight sims, so it was hard for me to describe aerial battles. -----------------------

Im in Army and Ive got this tad bit of hatred against the RL navy so no offence to anyone in VEN. I would just feel like a hippocrit being in VEN if I cant like RL Navy. -----------------------

Well what can I say? Some people like living in a sausage fest for six months at a time. I wouldnt be able to stand it. Id be better off in dirt for six months at least knowing there was a pair of *cough*melons*cough* to stare at once in a while.

Heh, you know, Liquid is RL Navy. Last I heard he was volunteering for sub service. Think Talon's a submariner, too. They are allowed to have women on board surface ships, but subs are guys-only. -----------------------

My brother is in the Navy, (Lukas_Yuy), he is being deployed to the Persian Gulf right now on the U.S.S. Enterprise.
Also I am going to my Army basic on the 22nd of June. The military rocks it doesn't matter what branch.  -----------------------

Yes, it is the Enterprise, and it is actually getting retired after its next dry dock, or soon after that anyway.
The ship was commissioned in 1961 it was the first nuclear powered carrier. Its pretty old so yeah. -----------------------

I kinda know what ya mean, Zhar, 'cept for my family I'll be the first one in a combat unit since my great-granddad (machine-gunner in WWI). My other granddads where a Navy dockhand in WWII and an Air Force mechanics crew-chief during Korea. The military is actually how my dad came to be; his parents were both Navy (Grandma was a WAVE), and Granddad asked her out on a date after she gave him his paycheck. They wound up married.

My great grander father fought in WW 2 for the english,
on the pacific coast againt the japs, in one of the crucial battles
he ship was captured, and he was placed in a concentration camp
unless u have seen the movie , the war to ends all wars, you wouldnt know how its like. He died when he came back to his home land, luckly he had escaped, but he died from his wounds
and the mental pressure was bad of course,

Im going to start off by saying that I was going to join the 3rd Canadian Field Engineer Regiment based out of Quebec (reserves)had all the papers signed and everything and than 9/11 happened and my parents forbade me to go even though I told them as a reserve the only time I would be forced to go to war was if there was conscription and I would be screwed anyways, and now for a little blast from the past.
My grandfather was born in Croatia and around WW2 he joined the socialist army (there were only three choices socialism, communism, or death) he was captured by the germans while training underground, they forced him to work at an airport where he met my grandmother. During a British bombing run he escaped with his wife they hid out at a friend house had my uncle moved to Canada but due to circumstances my uncle was left behind for 2 years. They moved to Vancouver had my father, started up a depanneur (convenience store) closed it down when some kid blew off his arse with a firecracker to avoid being sued, moved to quebec and started an electronics store from an apartment. Eventually he moved up bought his own store became succesfull and died 2 years ago from a stroke.
as to why I told you all this I dont know -----------------------
