Hey guys! A nostalgia trip indeed!

I remember my friend introduced me to VE in middle school and now (I can't believe) I'm approaching my 30s as well. I had a lot of fun roleplaying here and this site lives rent-free in a cozy place in my brain.

I never really lost my passion for writing though, and after quitting Facebook earlier this year, I finally started my own blog.

I actually just wrote an article going down memory lane about a space pirate game in the early 2000's I want to re-create and I just so happened to check back in here to see how things were going.

Anyway, I hope to see some more old faces trickle in because I would love to get a story going again.

It really is a trip. I joined for the first time maybe in April 2001 or 2002 and got booted out a few months later for the first time. It's funny going back and reading some of the things that 12-14 year old me wrote 20 years ago.

Also crazy seeing some people's profiles who haven't been active in 10-15+ years and I associate with VE, and people I've never seen that are nostalgic about it.

It's nice that Kadann keeps this up, all the other groups I took part in or associated with (FES, SV, GE, the venerable TRIC - ha - etc) have mostly gone away...

Yall know I been here the whole time, still waiting for the next Chapter?

Still fuggin with the stock market, just saying, top 10 forever baybay.

Anybody out there wanna relight this thing and get some writing going, I will always be for it.

Thank you, all of you, especially Kadann, Fury, and others, for keeping this website up and operational. Its nice to see there's still some blood trickling through the old veins.

As many years as its been...hilarious i remembered my old password.

But i cant even find my car keys.

I used to login pretty regularly but obviously not much to see of late.

I *do* actually add the oddball thing to the store once in a blue moon as the spirit strikes. You know, since you are earning credits and don't have much to do with them.

May even take a gander at the wiki just to clean up some of the crap I never found time to do.

The Discord *was* active-ish until a few months ago.

I was just married, burned out and stuck in a boring job in an office in Oklahoma after running wild in and out of Vegas for a spell and in dire need of a hobby. So I found this place - no, I did NOT come in at the open. That's more a Kad story....

We had some fun. Got to meet a fair amount of ya and still wouldn't mind meeting a few more if the stars align.

After waking up from coma this is one of the first thing I looked at. The search engine gave me a hard time but I was glad I still have the email address stiil active. What happened to this site? I wish that there is some kind of a miracle that this will all come back. God luck everyone.

holy crap I miss this place. I was 16 I think when I first found this place. Now I'm 31, haha. I always want to add more stories here, maybe I will someday, if only just for me. Miss all my old comrades.

Making 48,000 Credits a day on Interest alone has me definitely eyeballing some fun stuff in the store, even all these years later. Hard to think I started this in 2008 on my Navy account and it's actually been 14 years since then. Lots of great memories and cringe inducing writing to go back through.

Not the worst idea in the world actually.

I've been toying with creating a backstory. The planets are still there, but we aren't in charge. Obviously everyone is either out of a gig or doing much, much smaller scale versions of what we used to do.

It would allow folks to make some small teams stories for old time's sake.

Run rampant. Create a little chaos.

There are a lot of vehicles and ships I would love to bring in. Lots of work being done by some talented fans.

So, yeah, maybe would be nice to dust off the wiki, make some updates, see who still wants to play in the sandbox. Also, I add an item to the store every other month or so. So burn those credits we are all still earning, eh?

Hey there Amacuse, long time no see. Good to see I'm not the only one who haunts these halls.

I swear there must be some sort of 'sense' that goes off every time a little activity pops up around here. Thought about it, decided to look around for old times sake, and here we are.

Welp.... Three and a half years on from this post. (Disney) Star wars is dead. The key jangling of Luke at the end of the Mandalorian season 2 was not enough to save it.

If you have enjoyed any of disney star wars, no worries at all. I guess I just never got a debrief with those who might hold similar views that watching "The Force Awakens" in the cinema in 2015 felt their inner child slowly die.  The saving grace that it might all be saved with "The Last Jedi" was....... wow. Again, if you enjoyed those films, big love to you and yours, I'm no gatekeepier of any media. and if you enjoyed anything, more power to you. Personally, I just cannot deny how they made me feel.

Anyway, with that over, I'd like to cast my attention to this strange place... The Vast Empire.

Where would one be directed to learn the history of this place, warts and all? This place was formulative for a younger me, I think some of you may suspect my earlier accounts before this one. Would be nice to get a bit of an unbiased history as to the "vast empire".

I think I was definitely caught up in the star wars hype between episodes 2 and 3. I can barely put into words how the prequels (and the internet) helped shape by relation to the world and surrounds, and for better or worse these earlier internet fandom sites are so intriguing. This whole era is still a mystery to me, and it would be nice to get some context.

Writing is awesome. Star wars was awesome. What happened? Does anyone have the stones to be honest? Is it boring like people just got busy and fell away? Or did something happen? (or lots of things happen?)

I joined as a freshman in high school, thinking this was a gaming clan for Star Wars Jedi Knight. I didn't stick around long but did eventually come back and found a love for writing that I didn't know I possessed. I remember being so proud of becoming a Flight Lead in Kaph Squadron, then Squadron XO and then Squadron Leader. There are so many memories I have cherished for many years and hope to for many more.

I will say, the one goal I never achieved was being inducted into the DJO. Definitely was not for a lack of trying, though.

Made some great memories here and I hope one day we can rekindle that flame.

I always did wonder what those pesky Dark Jedi were up to...
