New VENA Direct and High Staff Policy:

Starting this friday, June 6th, reports will be due for all Staff members who have contributed anything to the Academy and wish recognition for their work. This is to ensure that I know what is going on and what everyone is working on. Also, this will ensure that I know who is contributing (and who isn't).

Every Sunday, directly after meeting time (I hope), I will post on this thread detailing what work has been done and what is left to be done in certain areas. This way YOU all know who is working on what and what is going to happen in the coming week.

Any questions, post them here.

You're more than welcome to do anything you want Shaz. This is as much your house as it will ever be mine, staff or not.

I've looked through it, and it's basically telling me what I picked up through my limited time here, and more. It looks good.

When your done, it needs to be combed through for mechanical and flow errors and such, but that's easily done.

Kudos to you dude for putting this together. It's going to be a definite asset.

Hello there, Crewman (insert name here).

Allow me to introduce myself, I am Tech Officer Blue-Leader, I, along with the Operation Team (C-3PX2, Ibram Tyrol, and StOrMz) will be guiding you through your training. We will be helping you through Basic Training, commonly calledFlight School, FS, BT, or the Academy]. Flight School is composed into three chapters, Chapter One: Character Development, Chapter Two: Pilot Procedure, Chapter Three: The Squadron, and last but not least, the Aviator's Exam. Once you have finished and been passed on these Chapters we will place you into one of the active squadrons.

Lets start with the basics - Chapter One. You need to make a biography for your character (Good examples are Jegora Fal's and Ibram Tyrol's Biographies.) Once you have finished your biography you may post it on this topic. But remember - your biography is only a rough sketch of your character and should be expanded when given the time. If you have any questions, catch any member of the staff around IRC or send them a PM (Personal Message).

Now, if you have any questions, or if you want to meet any of our other members you can hop onto IRC (Internet Relay Chat), or you may send any member of the staff a PM (Personal Message). There are many other communications methods for reaching the staff in that page as well. Once you have finished Basic Training, you shall be placed into one of the active squadrons.

If you need help and/or advice, 2 things to do, either 1. Sign into IRC and enter the #VENA room, there will usually be someone there who can help you. Or you could also PM one of us. I have responded to your most recent Biography post, so you are ready to move on to the next section. Also, if you want help, we'll need a little more information on what's the problem, or what you need advice on.

About getting to it. My sincerest apologies- I will have to withdraw from the VENA for now. I want to make sure I can be a strong Squadron member before devoting more time outside the squadron activities.

Are there any objections for the VENA crew to have a short mission we run via posting?

Chapter III has been changed from a mock report to a short time in a training squadron. Upon completion of chapter I, have them report to the Raptor topic located in the Navy Main Comnet.

Chapters II and III will technically be the same as they are now, however they will be completed in a squadron-like environment.

Random comment: offering rewards throughout might be a nice additional incentive.  They're in Raptor for such a short time that it'd always be a surprise, lol?  Not medals or additional promotions, but things from the IC or monetary rewards might be nice.

Also, since you're getting folks into a real squadron atmosphere, aside from posting, if they get on IRC (which I saw Hunter suggest), it would be beneficial to showing them how people can bounce ideas off of eachother in a flight.  "When you get into a flight, you're ganna wanna keep in contact with your FL and your other FMs to see if you can't develop some character material within the larger plot."  Might be a bit complex, but it's kind of something that I'd like to see the squadrons become more conditioned too.  Much of the time, the larger plot is decided and the members simply try to work within that when really they should be working with one another to bring depths to their character, making the stories far more interesting.  Just some thoughts?  Otherwise: wow- working well, guys!
