Ok I'm afraid i need to try and clear up the storyline for everyone. I may have not made my posts clear enough, but do try and take the time to fully read what everyone has written before we post.
The initial purpose of this mission is a training excercise.
The ship we are attacking was found drifting in VE space.
It is an Old Republic attack cruiser. Those are the Pre-Star Destroyer ships that the Clones used in episode III Not used by the rebels, but by the old republic/early Empire.
The Y-Wings and Droids were put there by our Space trooper trainer. They are not rebels etc. They are a test for us. The droids are using weapons that will not physically harm us, but the suits will register the damage and are programmed to act accordingly. If you are "killed" by the droids, you will not be physically harmed, but your suit will shut down. I expect we can say this is what has happened to Zar.
The Laser cannons and grenade launcher we have with us ARE real weapons, we really are blowing up this droids because they're some old ones that our training commander ruslted up.
Once we get to the bridge the main story starts. This will explain what happened to the ship and will start the story proper . . .
