PLT Comp Story 3 (Wraiths, Jester, Nightstalkers)

Cosmic strode into Briefing Room Three while thinking back to how many times he had done this before in the past when he was the squad leader of Raiders - a position which now belonged to First Lieutenant Raziel. He had prepared a pretty in-depth mission statement for his audience and hoped that the aide had dropped in three lumps of sugar in his coffee rather than the usual one.

He stepped up to the podium and looked out at the soldiers sitting in their seats. The low whispering and joking had halted as soon as he entered, and the ears of all three squads (Wraiths, Jester, and Nightstalkers) were now directing their full attention to him. As the Commander of Training and a Brigadier General, the only battles he fought nowadays were keeping all those stacks of papers of new trainees on his desk in order; however, this mission was slightly different than the standard missions that were usually given out, and his experience was required.

"Morning. I was hoping to keep this short and sweet, but unfortunately we're diving head-first into the pit of fire here."

Everyone began to groan in some shape or form. They all seemed to know where this was going: sleepless nights, early mornings, and not nearly enough brandy as every soldier needs in their daily routines.

"Our government, our territory, and our very existence has been threatened. Intelligence has reported activity from the planet Devaron concerning an Imperial faction titling themselves as the VilCorp Corporation from the moon of Rori. They are similar to us in most respects, and will probably fight just as fiercely." Cosmic paused for a brief moment in order to let those details absorb into their minds as he took a sip of his coffee.

Ah good... Three lumps.

He looked back up to the audience before him, a slight grin on his face, "We have three of the Army's finest squads in this room, and I am confident that we can pull this off."

The troopers seemed to be a bit proud of themselves at the sound of this, and began to listen attentively for his next compliment.

"With that being said, we are heading for a planet that is not very supportive to our cause. The planet prefers to side with the ideals of  the New Republic, and would rather die than see the Empire on their turf, yet they welcomed the faction from Rori it seems. No, we're not heading to the Rori moon; we're actually heading for the planet Devaron. As I said earlier, VilCorp is hoping to remove us from the playing field. They're readying their army and weapons. This one will not be easy, people. We'll be dropping from the ISD Dominion, so we'll all meet up there with the rest of the Corps."

The pride in the room had gone down a little. They were still pleased about being selected for a mission of this calibur, but were a bit uneasy about how it would turn out. Cosmic had said his final words of encouragement, and sent them off to their barracks to get their equipment before converging on the Dominion.

/OOC (Out of Character)

Squad Members: the point right now is to get to the Imperial Star Destroyer Dominion as soon as possible and meet up with your squad. Squad Leaders/Assistant Squad Leaders, it'd be good for you guys to post first to give your members some know-how on how to do this.

Note: If your Squad Leader or Assistant Squad Leader doesn't post within 24 hours of this post, you may begin to make your way to the Dominion on your own.

Rules
There is one simple rule: in order for us to keep track of which squad is posting, we need to know which squad you belong to. At the beginning/top of every post, type down the squad you are in, and then make your post below that.

Try to make posts that progress your character and the story. A silly post about how well your character felt while in the refresher isn't exactly a progressive post. Make sure you have a set goal in mind, and get your character from point A to B. In other words, try not to lollygag.

Wraith Squad

Snipes banged his head on a wall in the Wraiths musty barracks.

"Its just not fair. . ." Snipes moaned again to no one in particular. "Piracy was so much fun."

"Snipes, we hadn't even done anything yet" Anubis pointed out, again, "We were still doing some training"

"I know," Snipes complained in his ever so remorseful way "but it was just the idea, and the food, the food was sooooo much better"

"Shush you two, we can go back to it when we're finished here, think of it like. . .mercenary work, but with cooler uniforms" Lukas was there to save the day again, or at least shut them up.

"Fine then, Anubis, Mandor, you guys packed" Snipes asked, being as those were the last two to get ready.

"Ya, we're ready, mom" Anubis said, smirking, but quickly leaving.

"yes, Mother" Mandor chimed in as he attempted to run past Snipes,  but Snipes was quicker and stuck his leg out, tripping the smart mouthed Lance Corporal.

"whoops, sorry there bud" Snipes said, smiling broadly. Once Mandor up and going down the hall Snipes and Lukas grabbed their respective bags and made their way from the barracks to a shuttle from the Dominion.

All of Wraith Squad was in there and Kuroishi wasted no time in starting up some sort of briefing/pep talk that Snipes knew would be repeated two or three times between now and their landing on the planet, so Snipes wasted no time double checking his bag. It contained one gallon of whiskey, his two blaster pistols, a long bladed knife, clothes, a sniper rifle and his shotgun and ammo. He knew anything additional he may need would be on the Dominion. From extensive experience Snipes knew that the armory on the ship was second to none in the Vast Empires Fleet, if it wasn't there you obviously didn't need it that badly.

Nightstalkers

Stonefish muttered a few choice words under his breath as he left the briefing. He and his squad had only just returned from a particularly taxing mission; only just got the snow out of his boots, and they were being shipped out again. He returned to the squad bunk room to find the rest of the Nightstalkers looking a little grim, and a little tired.

"Man, we've only just got back and we're off again?!" Alasse said in disbelief, "How about a little R&R?"

"It's a soldier's life in the corps." replied Stonefish.

The ageing Squad Leader walked over to his locker to repack the gear he had just unpacked and had not even finished cleaning yet. He made a mental note to put the power packs for his armour and weapons on charge as soon as they boarded the Dominion, it wouldn't do to have them run dry in the middle of a firefight.

Still, he thought, I'll take a couple of the kinetic weapons with me too, they won't need charging.

"All right squad," Stonefish declared, drawing his troopers' attention from their lockers for a moment, "Make your own way to the Dominion, but be quick about it," he paused a moment, "We don't want the others to drink the bar dry before we get there, do we now?"

Stonefish hoisted his duffel over his shoulder and double-timed it to the shuttle.

Nightstalkers

Nicholas got up from the hard, metal chair and walked with his squad to the bunk room. Everybody was already tired from the previous mission, so they were all a little grumpy about moving out for a new one. He looked around at all the glum faces. Nicholas felt like falling asleep right at that moment, sinking in his seat. He knew he had to hurry up, and pack his bag. His squad leader, Ramon Stonefish gave them a prep talk, and they all listened up to his speach. Nicholas got himself ready, as he got up and left with his squad.

As Kuroishi began his briefing, Anubis slowly fumbled through his bag searching for his favorite ammo clip.

I know I have it in here somewhere, I know I didn't leave it back when we were getting ready for the piracy.

He stopped when he noticed Lukas staring at him, making it apparent that he was being a bit too loud.  Setting the bag back down, he went back to listening to the briefing.  Overall it seemed simple enough, another fun mission with the platoons all gathered together to work for the advancement of the Vast Empire.

This time was different though than anything Anubis faced before, they were actually facing another group of the Empire.  Part of Anubis was nervous over facing what very well were brothers in arms several years ago, before it all went downhill.

I can only hope that we can find someway to unite them with us, and not destroy them completely.

One thing was certain to Anubis, they were determined and would win.

Nightstalkers

The cold weather did not really suit her and she had just taken a hot shower after returning from the snowy mountains in their previous mission. Now she found that they had to set off again. She slapped her own forehead. Her hair was still wet in fact.

"Another mission already! This is just great..." she muttered. Normally missions would mean more experience for them but she was just too tired and worn out.

A little disgruntled, she listened to the SL's talk before going to her locker to pack. Some of her equipment still had snow on them. With her fingers, she brushed away as much snow as she could before putting everything into the backpack. Swinging it onto her back, she was all set and started to make her way to the Dominion.

Wraith Squad

Rommel was seated next to Hunter and listening to  Kuroishi.  Rommel glanced over at his other squad mates, Snipes, Anubis, and Mandor.  Wraith Squad had been though some tough missions but this one was sounding like it may be the toughest.

Hunter whispered, I wish the Empire would make up its mind what it wants us to do.  "Thats what happens when you have staff officers making tactical decesions" smirked Rommel.

Rommel had heard of the Dominion before, rumor had it that the Navy had some good looking women on their ships. "Hey Hunter maybe we can get lucky on the ship before we start the mission".

Anubis slapped Rommel upside the head and told him to start thinking with his big head and get focused on the mission.

Kuroishi finished up the briefing and Wraith Squad had 20 minutes to finish up their Pre-Combat Checks before heading for the shuttle that would take them to the Star Destroyer

Wraith Squad

Jogging up to the shuttle, Anubis ran in to see that the shuttle was still empty.  He checked the chronometer on his rifle to see that he still had a good half an hour before Wraith Squad was set to leave.

Still relatively tired from the piracy training not more than a few days ago, Anubis felt he could get in a good nap before they were set to leave for the Dominion.  He took off his bag, setting it inside the storage compartment then laid down on the bench.

Closing his eyes, he let his thoughts drift away from the mission at hand and to the past.  Reflecting back on his service to Wraith Squad over the past few months, he knew that he was where he belonged.  There was no doubt in Anubis' mind that he belonged with the Empire, but he had to admit that facing another Imperial faction continued to trouble him.

Where am I?

Anubis had entered a dream, facing a massive battlefield.  It was disastrous as those that were once allies were now turned on each other, all over the simple lust for power.

Warlords, they're breaking the Empire apart...no wait...they already have broken the Empire apart.

His perception changed, to see the various stars of the galaxy, stars that once belonged to the great Galactic Empire seperating and breaking apart.  There was a flash and Anubis woke up.

Someone had entered the shuttle, it was Kuroishi.

"I see that I'm not the only one that likes to be early."

Anubis rubbed away the sleep from his eyes before responding.  "Yeah, I guess I like to make sure that I'm here."  Anubis slowly got up as Kuroishi went to talk with the pilot outside the shuttle.  Anubis felt tense and for a few moments shook in fear, but got control of himself and decided to go outside to wait for the others.

Wraith Squad

Snipes shook an unhappy head, there was a lot going here he didn't like thinking about, and this mission was a sore to all the squads involved, fighting another imperial faction was nothing new, but it still wasnt pleasant, some of the people in this army had been in the Empire when it still ruled the galaxy and they would now be pitted against brothers in arms, its entirely possible some of them had been in the same squad as those they were now marching out to destroy. It would be a hard mission, mentally and emotionally for many involved, Snipes was just relieved he wasn't wearing stormtrooper armor anymore, kept enemy identification a little simpler in the field.

As usual the Dominion's hulls seemed to be bursting with people as Snipes made his way towards  Wraiths quarters on board. The Dominion always seemed to be completely full until they got out of the atmosphere, at which point the ship sometimes seemed almost abandoned. Walking briskly down the hall Snipes kept his duffel between him and the wall, he had had stuff pick pocketed from him even here, so he took few chances now. When Snipes reached Wraiths area he was pleasantly surprised to see it was one they had frequently lent to the RAIDERS and so Snipes was familiar with it, it had a main circular room that the outside hallway opened too, in the middle of this room was a circular table with ten chairs sitting evenly around it. The walls were lined with eleven doors, Snipes knew ten opened into sleeping quarters, but the middle was a storage closet that was kept empty so the squad using the area could place their equipment in there. Looking around Snipes realized, to his astonishment, that he was the only one of the wraiths currently there. Smiling he grabbed his favorite room, the one closest to the door.

Leaving again after situating his stuff, Snipes went off to find a woman friend of his and spend the rest of the trip hiding from the various officers that were now in charge of him who might find some sort of work for him to do.

"Ick, work."

Wraith Squad

Kuroishi found his quarters.

His grey hair was kept well within regulation length making him almost appear bald in some places.

As he thought about the prospect of fighting another Imperial Faction he burned with resentment at the rebel scum who had caused such a schism in the first place.

Kuroishi had been different from most Imperial Loyalists, especially those from the height of the Empire's power.  He was able to respect non-humans and women for what they could do.  After all it was a woman who taught him how to fight with a sword.

Back when he had achieved the rank of Colonel there were a few stormtroopers under his command on an orbital station.  He began to think if he might face one of them.  The more Kuroishi thought on the matter the more his mind strayed back to memories of home and the woman he loved that wanted him dead.  The people he would never see again.  The homeworld that was now a lifeless rock.  His friends.

Everyone he dared call friend had quite literally betrayed him and sought to bring down all the Emperial Remnants.

All of this was caused because some farm boy from middle of nowhere always seemed to manage to save the day.  Infact if not for the efforts of but a few key individuals the New Republic likely would not be in existance, let alone survive it's trials.  Everything that was wrong in Kuroishi's life could be linked to the New Republic and those key individuals.

Now on top of all of that they would have to fight those that were once true to the Empire.

Applying lubricant to the loading spring of his Timbique Edition Zues Rifle Kuroishi had even more reason to hate the New Republic and all the evil it has brought into the universe.

*** Taskforce Leader ***

Cosmic received various respectful salutes and nods as he walked passed the crew of the Dominion as he made his way down the long stretch of corridor. He had a lot to think about now, and not just the usual daily recruit-count. He was heading back onto the battlefield - strange as it may seem, he thought, that an officer of his rank should be joining the squad on the field rather than looming over a map. Instinctively, he began going through the same old standard routine questions in his mind: who was the target, how formidable is the target, and how many casualties was he to expect while going after his objectives. Like all officers looking out for their soldiers, he didn't want to see any of his troops get badly hurt or even die - nothing wrong with a few battlescars, but a missing limb is going a bit far.

He made his way into the hangar bay and took a quick look around. The floor was littered with maintenance crew running about doing quick checkups on the numerous shuttles that were scattered neatly in different areas. Each squad would be assigned to one transport - his taskforce would have four shuttles in all: three for each squad in his force, and one for his own personal use and lead-ship. Besides, he needed time to think and plan ahead, and having a shuttle full of eager soldiers chatting away at how many kills they were going to get or how much they hated death wasn't going to help him in his task. The most interesting part of this whole campaign was that he had never before encountered this type of situation: another Imperial faction attempting to dominate his own. He'd be dealing with the same units, some standard tactics, and perhaps similar ideals.

A young crewman interrupted his thoughts, "Your shuttle is ready for you, General."

Cosmic nodded in reply and began making his way to the shuttle the crewman had motioned to.

Despite what he thought, he needed to keep a cool head and prevent himself from showing any concern for the situation ahead. If the leader shows no fear, the troops' confidence is upheld. After all, despite the fact that they were fighting another Imperial faction, it was just another mission to be run - another day, another routine.

OOC: guys, i need details, without details i cant give you much more than filler posts /OOC

Snipes blew a smoke ring in the dark, it came from his mouth and grew like the gaping maw of asteroid worm, the luminescent green smoke swirling constantly until minutes later its upper half crashed upon the ceiling, not terribly unlike a wave in the now gone oceans of alderaan. Blowing another smoke ring into the air, Snipes thought on what had been lost in the war, and what was yet to be lost. As he exhaled the smoke from his cigarra once again, something stirred next to him, and he looked over. The brunette petty officer under the covers next to him looked up through sleepy eyes.

"whats tha. . ." She said yawning, but realization soon spread across her face as she smelled the acrid smoke. " Hey! Put that out, I could get in big trouble for that, and it stinks the place up." She was quickly out of bed now, dressed only in Snipes shirt, which was large to look almost like a dress on her short frame. She was up and about now, although she did Snipes the favor of not turning the lights on, the darkness was comfortable, the air was given a certain softness from the smoke of his cigarra and Snipes could swear he heard the slight, comforting vibration of the engines. But Snipes reprieve from the insanity was not to last.

There was a a crackle and pop as the ship intercom came on, "Members of Wraith, Nightstalker and Jester squads, Report to your respective quarters on the double. Drop in 1 hour." there was a click and the intercom went silent, but Snipes was already on his feet, gathering his jacket, boots and hat, his pants he had thankfully remembered to put back on earlier.

"wheres my shirt?!" he called to his lady friend who has now stepped into the refresher.

It was now that a silk white shirt came flying his direction, landing squarely on his head he quickly shook it off into his arms, careful that it didn't touch the cigarra still clenched in his teeth.

"Night, Love," Snipes yelled, grabbing his gun belt and darting out the door.

Now he was barefoot, shirtless and not in uniform, he ran down the halls, left, right, center fork, bloody hell, how do people find thier way around these places. Dodging down an adjoining corridor, Snipes spotted a turbo lift and bolted for it, as he came sliding to a stop in front of it it opened to reveal two of the Dominions resident guards, they were uniformed men, but unarmored. They stepped forward and obstructed Snipes path.

"We have reports of a man streaking through this sector, any idea what they're talking about?" The first one asked, he was taller, blond and blue eyed, the women probably loved him, and he was probably gay.

"Nope, no idea" Snipes said, the sarcasm not evident in his voice, Snipes smiled and exhaled, smoke covered the mans face, making him cough and wave his hand, trying to dispell the smoke.

"Sir, you're going to need to come with us" The other said, he was shorter and had some gray hair, he'd been in the job awhile and probably didn't like fancy-pantsing around.

"I need to go, man" Snipes argued "They just called for me, I gotta move man"

"uh-huh. . ." It was Blondie again."do you have any proof?"

The audacity "Of course" Snipes said, hawking up a lugie.

"Don't fiddle around Brek, lets just take him, whether he has proof or not is to be decided later" The man turned to Snipes "Lets go"

Now was the time for action, Snipes inhaled good through his cigarra and then forced the luggie out with a billow of smoke onto the shorter mans face, knowing he was the one that needed to be most  surprised, Snipes pushed through the two then and slid into the turbo-lift, he smacked the close door button and the appropriate level number. Snipes started dressing in the turbo-lift but only got his boots on before it stopped, he swore loudly, the door opened. Snipes gathered his stuff and charged down the hall, it was looking familiar now and he soon found his squads quarters, everyone was already there, situated around the table ready to hear the specifics on their drop and mission. Snipes dropped his clothes and took the only empty seat in at the table, he received a bit of a glare at his cigarra, and at least one envious look from Mandor, but the briefing commenced, despite Snipes late arrival and multiple regulation violations, every soldier was needed right now, they weren't going to make a fuss, at least not until later, which Snipes could deal with.

Jester Squad

When the orders to prepare for drop came over the comm Sokudo snapped out of his flashback to complete his preparations. It had been a long time since he had handled his army gear, a long time indeed. The trooper expressionlessly snapped his swords into their sheaths and laid them on his bunk.

His hand jerked towards the fully charged blaster laying near his hip as his attention snapped to the hallway outside the open door... or rather to the commotion happening out there.

"Hey stop that guy!" Shouted a short naval guard, as a man wearing nothing but a gunbelt, and carrying a pile of clothes. hopefully his own, rushed into the turbolift accross the hall.

Sokudo was sure he recognized the naked gunman from passing in the mess back at base. "Sure isn't the same Corps I left..." he said with a sigh.

The veteran trooper finished adjusting his shadowsuit then secured his stormcommando armor over it. After fitting it firmly, he began the "arming process", of securing his weapons in all their various places. When done with the arming process, Sokudo walked out into the bright hallway with his helmet under his arm, secured his quarters and proceeded towards his squads assigned assembly room at a determined pace. This trooper was ready to be back in action.

*** Taskforce Leader ***

Cosmic was rereading a datapad containing the few details he could find about Devaron when a young crewman walked up to him, giving him a crisp salute.

"General, the squad's have all reported to their Lambda shuttles. They're prepared for launch, sir. Your shuttle has also been prepped and is awaiting your arrival."

Cosmic looked up from the datapad and nodded, "Thank you Crewman."

The young man gave the Brigadier General one last salute before turning himself around to continue with his daily duties. Cosmic placed the datapad in his left breast pocket and made his way to his personal shuttle. Once inside, the shuttle's landing ramp had pulled itself in and the engines fired up.

All four shuttles for Cosmic's taskforce rose from the hangar bay's floor and made their way out into open space. Rizzit's and TJ's team had already left, and now it was their turn. Once the shuttles exited the hangar bay, Cosmic opened a channel to the squads under his command, "Ok folks, this is where the fun begins. The rest of our guys have gone ahead, and now it's our turn to take to the road. We'll be heading to the planet Devaron, and it's a long haul so make yourselves comfortable. There's not much to say about Devaron except that the folks down there don't take a fancy to the Imperial cause. Actually, we don't know much about the planet we're dealing with - there's not much information in the archives to help inform us on what we're getting into. Hang tight, stick together, follow your orders, and you should be able to keep yourselves alive. Good hunting."

Cosmic closed the channel and nodded to the pilot, "Get us underway."

The slim young man nodded and entered in the coordinates into the navicomputer. Within a few moments, the stars had turned into streaks of white lines as they entered hyperspace.

/OOC: Ok guys, set us down on the planet. Our mission has begun.

Nicholas pulled the straps on his boots tight, and stood up for orders. His squd was finally told to enter a shuttle, and take off. The other two squads and his taskforce leader took off to the planet of Devaron. This was going to be a long ride, being that Devaron was so far away that the Vast Empire had practically no information on it. Nonetheless, Nicholas was anxious to begin the mission.

They all sat quietly, as they entered hyperspace. Then, the whole crew started tho chat, filling the shuttle with sound for the long ride.

Nightstalkers

The swirling blue vortex of hyperspace faded into incandescent lines stretched across a dark void. Inside the shuttle, the Imperial troops felt a slight shudder as the hyperdrive began first phase deactivation. The inertial dampers took care of the rest as outside, the lines shrank and became a field of white specks, dominated by the local primary star and the planet Devaron.

The planet itself was hidden from view by the storms gathering in the upper atmosphere, muted flashes marking the path of lightning below. Just around the edges, a view of blue ocean and green, forested land could be glimpsed.

Soon, the shuttle began its descent down to the planet, crossing into the atmosphere with a violent series of jolts.

"You may want to buckle up back there," called the pilot, "This storm's gonna make things a mite bumpy!"

On the inside of the shuttle, Stonefish scanned the passenger compartment. Nicholas, sat directly opposite his Squad Leader, had a faint green cast to his features.

"Come on, Private!" called Stonefish, "If you could take that skydive, you can handle a few bumps in an armoured shuttlecraft!"

In response, Nicholas reached between his feet for the small paper bags stored beneath the seats for just such an emergency.

Over in the next aisle, the Wraith troopers bantered with each other about how this flight reminded them of their last mission, and the smell of Nicholas' bag was a little similar to what Fury's office must smell like about now.

"I thought you crashed your shuttle on your last mission!" called Alasse from her seat next to Stonefish.

"Yeah, but it wasn't out fault!" Snipes called back, "The tech must've installed dodgy navigation software at the plant! How were we supposed to know there was a mountain hiding in those hills?"

Soon, the turbulence began to pass, and the shuttle settled on to a smoother flight path, swinging around to the west, allowing a brief glimpse of their destination out of the small windows. Covering several square kilometres, and centred on a large cluster of prefabricated buildings. Dev-Larien spaceport crouched on the landscape, it's outskirts growing outwards almost organically as the roughly built stone structures spread out across the grasslands. To the north, it abutted the forest, a small gathering of stumps marking the land cleared for new development.

"I've heard about this place," said Kuroishi, almost to himself, "Geist used to come here on vacation."

"I hope we brought enough guns!" called Stonefish, recalling Geist's holiday stories from back in the day.

The shuttle continued to descend, settling on a patch of charred and blackened ferrocrete, one amongst many arrayed in a grid pattern just outside the town to the east. The struts made little sound, and the hydraulics less as they gathered the weight of the shuttle. The pilot triggered the boarding ramp and damp, humid air wafted across the passenger bay.

"Whew!" said one of the Jester crew, Stonefish couldn't tell who, "Who set that one off?!"

"Aaah, reminds me of your momma," replied Snipes.

At that point, Cosmic joined them from the cockpit.

"All right boys and girls," he said walking toward the boarding ramp, "Grab your gear and let's go. Oh, and Nicholas, the bill for the cleaning staff is coming out of your paycheck."

Nicholas Star groaned at that, though he was regaining something of his normal colouration.

In small groups, the Vast Empire troopers of Wraith, Jester and Nightstalkers pulled their baggage from the overhead compartments and assembled outside.

"Okay," began Cosmic, "We're here, now we need to get situated. We have no idea what's going on here on Devaron, so we need to get intel, and fast. Jester, night out is approved - check out the bars and clubs see if you can hear anything in there. Wraith, you should see what you can crack out of the local businesses and their networks - this may look like the middle of nowhere, but I've been told that there's a strong underworld influence around here look for a way into that to gain intel - Nightstalkers, you get to check out the local enforcement - law and otherwise. See if you can get some employment, that should get us a few leads for now. I'll set up camp at a hotel called The Were under the name Voors Toth. You can leave a message for me there when you have something to report - standard coding. Oh, and in case you hadn't guessed, and you had brought it, leave the stormie armour on the shuttle."

The squads gave general assent and the Squad Leaders set about instructing their people. Stonefish pulled the Nightstalkers aside.

"Okay, the brief says scout out, and try to get scouted by local enforcers. I'll be working my way around bars, probably getting into a lot of fights. Not a good idea for us all to be doing that, so the rest of you either look at what passes for law enforcement around here, or the private security firms."

OOC: Okay, storyline hijacked to give people some direction - I couldn't see any further up. Let me know on any edits needed.

Snipes groaned, he would very much liked to have spent some time in the bars, he was good with bars. Stepping out of the shuttle Snipes clean boot stepped right into a substance he didn't want to think about, he groaned again, this planet was not going to be nice to his clothing. As in he was dressed in a well cut dark blue jacket that was was open to reveel a fancy, yet simple, what silk shirt, his pants were well cut in the corellian style, no pockets or attachments and his boots were well made, and well worn, leather that came almost up to his knees. However, he was glad he dressed this richly, he was looked almost wealthy, unfortunately Kuroishi realized Snipes was far better dressed than everyone else too.

"Snipes," the squad leader called.

Snipes groaned.

"You're dressed mighty nice, did you bring a change?"

It was Snipes turn to groan again, but this time he also pulled his Ciggara out of his pocket  and put it in his mouth, "Anyone got a light?"

"Yeah, so, wheres your bag?"

"hrm, lending out my clothes, seriously, i want some rent." Snipes smiled as he walked back into the shuttle and grabbed his duffel bags.  "I'd buy you all better clothes, but I'm really cheap, so lets go get some hotel rooms, those I can afford and will look less suspicious."

"Sounds good enough," Kuroishi said, turning to the rest of Wraiths they were ordered to grab their stuff and head for a local hotel.

Snipes lead the way, trying to find one he liked, he ended up going to the richest end, found himself what passed for a five star, and rented the pent house and six other rooms, saying only, "You're going to have to share."

Snipe didn't like the look of the hotel, the bottom floor was all marble and gold, the carpet was red, but it was the only thing that wasn't marble or gold, Snipes wasn't a fan of either color. The Penthouse seemed to be the same way, Snipes sighed, "I guess I'll just have to leave the lights off."

"Oh, yes, its such a burden." Anubis said sarcastically, "Its just so horrible, everybody, Snipes has to deal with a penthouse filled with gold."

"Shush, you, Its Kuroishis place to decide where you all sleep, but i really don't think any of you should sleep up here, in case we're watched you know Anyway,"Snipes said moving over to the bed with his duffel bags, and emptied the contents onto the bed."Have at it!"

After a good hour of rifling through his clothes they found enough that fit Kuroishi and Otto well enough for them to look normal, the others would have to be body guards.
"I want Anubis." Snipes said, pointing at the man as he cringed.

"Alright, I'll take hunter, Otto, that leaves you with Rommel, alright everybody, you know where to hit, Snipes, banks, I'll take charities and Otto, you take shipping, we'll move on after today if we don't find anything, remember, break in, subterfuge, whatever, just keep from being detected, if you are theres a very good chance the mission will be compromised.

Wraith Squad

Anubis stretched and looked at Mandor and Snipes with an odd look.  He was still feeling strange over the more than luxurious accomidations provided through Snipes, far better than any mission he'd had with in the entire time he'd been in Wraiths.  It was a different feeling, one that Anubis both loathed and loved.

"So let's see, go to the bank, snoop out what's in the bank, go home for the evening...sounds simple enough."

Snipes looked at him and gave a somewhat disapproving answer.

"Not if the Devaronian authorities are ready for us.  Come on, let's just go see what we can get from them and go from there."

Snipes led the group of three out, with Anubis following and Mandor last.  They were the first group of Wraiths to leave, seeming to be rather eager to take on whatever it was that they would find when reaching the banks that they would see.  The sandy streets and blowing wind of the night encompassed even the more wealthy district of the city.  The Devaronians filled the streets, and various illicit activities could be seen occuring between individuals.

Anubis knew that out of all the alien species, this group was one of the more feared in the galaxy due to their near perfect resemblance to the devils of various planetary lores.  It was certainly strange to be there and see very little in the way of other aliens, which was the case on other alien worlds.  As they passed a cantina, it became evident how very much the Empire was hated on this world as the group of three Wraiths passed a crucified stormtrooper.  Anubis leaned over to whisper to Mandor.

"This is certainly going to be a fun endeavor now, isn't it."

Mandor simply nodded, the rotting corpse of the stormtrooper having obviously shaken him.  They finally reached the first of several banks in the city called the 'Grand Bank of Devaron.'  As the three enter into the almost empty bank, a sense of something bad draws up Anubis' spine.

Three of us versus...ten of them.  I hope we don't mess this up.

The ride on the shuttle off the Dominion was a long and unpleasant one for Phenix. Hardly had he just been accepted into the Imperial Army, and already he was on his first assignment. He really was unsure if he had the necessary training required, as he was depending on the knowledge of what he had learned in the past few years of his life. Nothing he knew could compare to Imperial training that was imperative to every one of the soldiers around him, but Phenix would be damned if he was going to make a weak impression to his partners and superiors. This was his first assignment, and he was determined to make himself recognized.

Looking over to his right, he noticed a man whose stomach betrayed his appearance. He was a fairly large with an impressive muscular build and dark features that would chill the eyes off a rancor for looking at him wrong. Through a hard build and sharp eyes, he could tell that this man was calm at heart, although there was something unsettling about him. Perhaps it was his lunch from earlier that day that he had so kindly retched all over his boots for everyone to see...

Private Nicholas Star was his name, and Phenix could sense a hardy nature about him. Phenix needed someone he could rely on in a time of need...after all, that's what a team is for, right? In a friendly gesture, Phenix offered him his hand and introduced himself.

"Private First Class Phenix Jansen; you must be Nicholas Star. I think I've seen you around. Looks like we're going to be working together a little bit. I hope you take this mission better than you take this ride!" Phenix said as Nicholas smirked at him understandably. Hopefully, this was the handshake of a new friendship in development. Phenix needed a buddy to help him out, since he didn't know anybody at all. As a last endeavor, Phenix handed Nicholas another puke bag...

As the clouds of the planet's atmosphere began to swirl past the view ports, each soldier ensured his restraining mechanisms were in place properly. Phenix gave a nod to his Sergeant, Ramon Stonefish, and held on for landing. The procedure went relatively smooth, and Phenix let out a sigh of relief as the landing gear touched ground, and hissed with the hydraulics as they pushed out the compressed air. Phenix unstrapped himself and released the containment space for his baggage and began to unload. He could hear Cosmic giving orders as the soldiers grabbed their things, and listened attentively to make sure he got his commands correct.

Cosmic explained each squad's target of investigation, and explained that all Stormtrooper armor was to remain on the shuttle. Nightstalkers were reported to go check out the local enforcement, and Phenix had an understanding of the term "enforcement." He knew that didn't always mean the side favoring the law. He decided to find a group to travel with, so he looked around outside the shuttle. The men unloaded themselves off the ship and gathered with their squad and leaders. Sergeant Stonefish pulled his group, including Phenix, aside and explained what they had to do.

The adrenaline began to settle in, and Phenix looked around for a partner. "Well, Nicholas, are you in with me? I've got a few ideas to get us started, and I need all the help I can get. I know where to start looking if you're coming..."

OOC: Ok, so forgive me if I screw this up, but I only really had enough time to skim through this, and while I'm not exactly the swiftest person in the world, I still have absolutely no idea what the hell is supposed to be the mission in this story.  Maybe a full briefing would be a good idea.  Just a thought, but until that happens, Jester is going to the bars as ordered.

Kiption stepped off the shuttle, looked around and stepped back into the shuttle.  The idea of a whole bunch of guys just randomly stepping off a transport all at the same time had him a bit worried about being noticed.  He called his squad around him and gave out new orders.

"Ok, if we're going to blend in, we need to split up.  And no more using this shuttle as a base of operations.  We're going to need two flats in different sections of town.  Preferably the cheap kind."  Kip looked at each of his men.

"Don't you really mean free?"

Kip looked up at Sokudo. "Exactly.  I want you and Rahhu to go off and find one place.  Abagail and Keef will go and find a second location."

Kip paused, thinking to himself, who else was in his squad.  Screw it.  "The rest of you need to spread out and start scouting around the areas.  We need to start looking for places that these people are meeting in.  That means the bars, that means the sporting arenas, any of the above."

"And what about me?"  Kip looked up to find Army XO Merrick there as well.

"The shopping?" Keef's smart aleced remark came out, followed shortly by the thud of Merrick's equipment smacking him in the back of the head.

"Ohh nice ping on that one.  You and I get to go wander the streets.  We're on frequency 32, but unscrambeled, we don't want the interest that encryption brings.  Move out, and report back on what you guys find.  And remember, we're blending in with the locals.  Leave most of that military stuff behind."

OOC: I Have Created A Monster /OOC

Snipes strode quickly up to the first teller, his long hair was held back in a pony tail and the numerous adornments that hung from the strands not held back made a odd impression, he looked rich, successful and eccentric, which wasn't far from the truth.

"I need to make a deposit, a very, very large deposit." Snipes said around his ciggara. "The fact of the matter is really I need to open a new account here, but I want to make sure my money is safe, and I want to know that my safety deposit box is safe, who do I need to talk to to get those assurances."

"what size of deposit are we talking, Sir?" The tone of the business suite teller was conceited beyond anything Snipes had heard, possibly in his entire life of living in the uppermost classes of Corellia.

"My client would rather I didn't say until I'd had a chance to asses the banks security." Snipes smiled broadly, "If I could speak with a manager, or an executive of some sort, that would be great."

The man looked a little disgruntled, he wouldn't be receiving any commission on Snipes large account, but he called for the manager anyway. It was several minutes later a man dressed in a black business suit and wearing a ridiculous grin came walking in through a door leading to the back. He walked up to Snipes and held forward his hand, Snipes shook it briskly.

"Are you the manager?" Snipes asked.

"On duty, yes, are you the one who wishes to asses our security?" The man asked through his toothy grin

"yes, for my client, who wishes to remain anonymous, i am here to determine weather your bank can handle this account." Snipes said, taking the ciggara out of his mouth to talk, for once, like a civilized person.

"Ah, well, mister. . ."the manager started.

"Sipes, Jarrin Sipes." Snipes said.

"Ah, well, mister Sipes, if you would just step this way, into my office, I'm sure I can convince you Grand Bank of Devaron is the way to go."

"I'm sure. . ." Snipes said, fallowing the mans lead in through the back door, it seems that nobody had noticed Anubis, and when he tried to fallow the man turned to Snipes.

"Mister Sipes, is this man with you?"

"Absolutely," Snipes looked at Anubis condescendingly," Come along, I don't pay you to lolly gag around."

Anubis stepped shortly through the door, which lead to a turbo-lift. Hitting a button that he guarded from Snipes sight carefully the manager sent the turbo-lift fly upwards, Snipes tried to keep track of the speed and time to determine what floor he was on, but he was still going to have to count the windows once outside. It finally came to a stop and the door slid upwards to reveal an office, And to think, I expected a cubical.

The office was roomy, with a window along one wall, the desk was, of course, steel with a built in data center, Bingo. there were only two chairs in the room though, one on each side of the desk, Snipes sat in the one on his side, it was leather and stiff, not really comfortable, but rich, he remembered chairs like this in one of the formal rooms at his old home on Corellia. The manager took his seat at the other side, a high backed chair that gave an impression of authority.

"I can have another chair sent up if you wish," He said, with that irritating smile, as he glanced at Anubis.

"That won't be necessary," Snipes said, "He's used to standing."

The man looked a little off at that, as he took another look at Anubis, in his simple beige clothing and gun belt, something Snipes had been cognitive enough to leave at the hotel, well, his big one anyway. "So, Mister Sipes, out accounts are encrypted with a . . ." Snipes zoned out about there, he had the uncanny ability to completely ignore people while making them think he was attentively listening, sometimes he'd even ask questions without realizing it! The manager, who's name Snipes never really caught, kept going for an hour or maybe it was two, Snipes couldn't tell, lost in his state of mind, thinking about drinking, or women, whichever he hadn't thought of last, until finally the man said " If you like you can speak to out security specialist?"

Snipes was pulled out of his dream state at that. "yes, I would very much like that."

Snipes and Anubis were then lead to the turbo lift again, this time the went down, Snipes guessed farther than they had come up. When it opened now it revealed a stark gray hallway, they traveled down this to the end door,  for which the manager entered a code and it slid out of the way. Now a room where screens, monitoring different things, and data terminals littered the room; the manager lead Snipes to a man in the far corner speaking with another man over the contents of a data-disk.

"Officer Tong, this is Mister Sipes and his college. . ."The manager started, but realized he hadn't discovered Anubis's name.

"Alrad." Snipes said before Anubis could open his mouth.

". . .Alrad then" The manager said quizzically, " Anyway, Mister Sipes has some questions about the security at our banks."

"Ah, well I'm sure i can help you then, what is it that you want to know?"

Snipes asked him questions for half an hour, however he got few definite answers, most often it was something along the lines of "I'm sorry, I can't say, you understand." when they were finished Snipes was asked if he could find his own way out, which he could, so he went to the turbo lift with Anubis.

"Wow, I forgot to ask what floor we're on" Snipes said

"Just hit the 'L', it stands for lobby" Anubis said exasperatedly.

"No, i have a few more questions for the manager," Snipes said, guessing at a floor number that he believed might be a bit high.

They made it all the way up, Snipes had expected security personnel to be there, he expected a camera in the lift, but it seemed there hadn't been one. Snipes walked briskly over to the terminal, the room was empty of life, and started fiddling away, he wasn't as proficient with a computer as some of his squad mates, but he could handle it. The manager had left himself logged in and since he seemed to have all the privileges Snipes ended up just downloading their server hard drive onto several different harddrives as well as those harddrives of any connections Snipes could quickly get at. Then the two left, quickly. The last part had taken them half an hour, with no idea how it took that little an amount of time they moved on to the next bank.

"phew!" Anubis said once they were out. "thats over."

"thats what you think, theres still nine more banks, luckily it'll go a little quicker, i have a better idea of which way to lead the conversation this time." Snipes said.

"Thats good, my legs are killing me from all that standing"

"and you call yourself a soldier." Snipes said, shaking his head mockingly.

The other banks did go quicker, with only two that they couldn't get copies of the server hard drives, they were going to have to figure something else out for those two.  It ended up being a strain to find enough storage devices, Snipes ended up leaving Anubis back to analyze data and try to free up some hard drives because they were almost out, how they even managed to get the amount they did was mind blowing, and Snipes ended up buying a few.

Jester

Merrick dopped most of her equipment somewhere safe and hid her blaster pistols under the civvies she wore. Kip raised an eyebrow as she holstered them, but he said nothing. The rest of Jester had already departed, and she and Kip were about to do likewise when Cosmic appeared.

"Lieutenant, where are you going?" He tried to make his tone curious. It came across as nagging.

Kip merely smiled as Merrick looked at Cosmic. "I'm going out with Jester for some recon. I'm capable of more than driving a desk still, you know."

Cosmic nodded hurriedly, "Oh, I know that, I just didn't realise you planned to.. you know.. join in."

Merrick patted Cosmic on the shoulder. "I'll come back alive, I promise. Wouldn't want you to have to deal with an angry Fury." She turned back to Kip and they headed off, leaving Cosmic looking blank. As soon as they got out of earshot, Kip began laughing.

Merrick looked at him curiously and he shook his head. "You didn't tell Cosmic why you were coming? And the look on his face was priceless."

Merrick grinned, "Need to know basis and all of that. Damn I wish I could have recorded that."

Kuroishi felt uneasy.  There was a price on his head that could turn anyone on the streets into an instant bounty hunter with delusions of granduer.

So far at least there seemed to be no one that had reckognized him.

Kuroishi tapped Hunter on the shoulder and subtly directed Hunter's attention to a man in a long coat on a street corner.

"What makes you think he is working for the local crime syndicate?"  Hunter asked quietly to Kuroishi.

"During my tour of duty as an MP I busted the guy for tresspassing onto the base.  He had a tattoo linking him to the Sang Triad.  I couldn't hold him on just that though and I suspect he ditched his load of contraband before I could catch him.  He did his time and from what I know he is right back to work with the Sang Triad.  Now that could mean absolutely nothing as he could be here on vacation."  Kuroishi said as he tried to continue looking inconspicious.

"So what do we do?"  Hunter asked.

"He is our only lead to the local crime syndicates so we follow him for now."  Kuroishi answered.

Nightstalkers

Nicholas sat in the squad shuttle, across from his squad leader, and another new Nightstalker; Phenix. Phenix was a slim, yet muscular man, looking around at everybody curiously. He was clutching onto his seatbelt, almost like he didn't trust anybody there. Nicholas suddenly felt his stomache swirl, and he grabbed an emergency paper bag.

Phenix then stuck out his hand, and said something to Nicholas, but Nicholas was preoccupied, vommiting into his paper bag. He stuck out his hang, and shook Phenix's. Phenix seemed friendly enough to become friends with, so they talked for just about the whole trip, Nicholas occasionally puking into the emergency bag, and reaching for a new one.

"Everybody, we have arrived on Devaron, leave all of your armour, and follow your squad leader," ordered his trackforce leader, Cosmic.

Once nicholas stood up, Phenix asked him to be his partner and buddy on the battlefield. Nicholas, needing some friendly fire or some help on the field, accepteed his proposal.

The work on the hard drives proved to be a certain challenge for Anubis. Being somewhat knowledgeable about how the mechanical parts of the hard drives, Anubis connected the first of the four that were used on the first bank to the computer terminal. Bringing up a simple browser, he began sorting through the various information present.

The first hard drive proved to hold mainly files of information on various civilian transactions performed by civilians on Devaron. While most of it seemed like it could be deleted, Anubis decided against it just in case this Imperial group or the Republic were working through civilian sources. Disconnecting the hard drive, he set it on the desk and connected the second of the four.

He was immediately shocked at the vast array of encrypted information he found. "Well, looks like this is the really encrypted stuff that the manager was talking about. Oh boy, this is going to be fun. Best get a few bottles of cola since I'll be working through the night." Getting up from the terminal, Anubis made his way to the fridge and grabbed a bottle, opening it and taking a drink. Making his way to the window, he looked out as the sun was on the horizon. A red hue gave Anubis' skin an almost evil coloring.

At least I won't get shot while doing this.

Leaving the window, he went back to the terminal and went to work breaking the encryption on the files. For almost three hours Anubis spent in an effort to get past the encryption when he finally came to the prize he was searching for. The files revealed a number of transfers of credits over from the Devaronian High Council to a Jam Genth.  Anubis' eyes lit up at the fact of finally finding something worthwhile.  Hope died when, after running a background check on Mr. Genth, it was revealed that he was simply a mineral farmer on the outskirts of the main city. Letting out a sigh, Anubis went to work on the other files on the second hard drive.

The rest of the encrypted files proved to only have minimal useful data in the form of transactions from large mineral or crop farmers on the estates surrounding the major Devaronian cities. With a sigh of frustration, Anubis deleted the files on the hard drive, disconnected it and put it next to a tag labeled 'clean.' Connecting the third, he immediately noted that rather than files carrying data on transactions, the files on this hard drive were a list of various entries made by the staff of the bank.

Passing up entries that were by the minor staff which contained mostly grievances toward the manager, Anubis came across something from the manager himself. Bring it up, it gave Anubis a thought that the manager wasn't as good as he attempted to make himself appear to be.

"Three more of them found and crucified, now it's just a matter of time before we can complete what we need. Our efforts should very much be appreciated by our contact.  It should only be another month before we get what we need, but the High Council won't approve of it so long as they remain somewhat loving of the New Republic.  We'll have to deal with the General Secretary before we attempt to finish what we've started."

Anubis looked puzzled at the finding, as it seemed to indicate something towards the crucified stormtrooper that Snipes and Anubis saw on their way to the first bank.  There was certainly some sort of conspiracy among some of those on Devaron toward the New Republic, which could be to the benefit of the Vast Empire if played right, but the Empire seemed to be equally as hated if not moreso.

Saving the entry onto the hard drive of the computer, Anubis continued searching the entries before eventually deciding to save the entire group of entries to the hard drive of the terminal just in case there were things that he missed that Lukas could better discover.  The 4th hard drive held more encrypted files that, with a good amount of time spent decrypting, were revealed to be corporate transfers between the bank, High Council, and other corporate groups.  Deciding to keep this hard drive as well, Anubis disconnected it and set it with the other hard drive.  Looking at the two clean hard drives, he set them on the small couch in the living area for Snipes upon his return before promptly going to sleep as the sun began to rise above the sandy dunes.

Cosmic had slid into a simple brown tunic; a few pouches for his credits hung on his belt. The shuttle's landing stretch had pulled itself into its in-flight position once he had exited. The various squads had gone to check out the local cantinas, business facilities, and other local markets. He took a sip of water from the bottle he had obtained before exiting the shuttle and began making his way into the colony a good distance ahead. The bar was a decent place to find gossip, but Kiption and Merrick had already gotten that covered - he was left with roaming the streets. Eavesdropping in on the rumors of the street was another means of finding you wanted fast and easy.

********************

He had never seen so many horn-headed individuals in a single location in all his life. The street market was crowded with Devaronians making their attempts at trade and business. Amongst the crowd, he found several other alien species mingling around - merchants hoping that the Devaronians would find their native goods fascinating in some way and purchase it for a rediculously high price. Cosmic pushed himself past a few Devaronians in the middle of some kind of fued and began making his way to a nearby market stall.

What the..?

He stopped himself from going any further - a few feet from the arguing Devaronians. Something had pulled him back: the words "white soldiers" to be precise. They didn't say much more after that to his disappointment. The fued had somehow ended, and the only other thing he managed to catch from their conversation was "encampment".

Snipes looked around him, as he crept into the alley behind the bank, making sure no one saw him, when he was satisfied that no one did jumped into a nearby pile of garbage and tried to conceal himself as best as possible, so that he looked like just another down on his luck bum. He stayed there, watched armored repulsa-tanks bring in shipments of credit chits, and bring them out, usually with minimal guards and slow workers, now Snipes knew how to hit one of these banks if he ever ran short on funds.

As day faded into night Snipes stayed there, until he was certain that building had cleared of people other than security guards, but even then he laid in the poignant refuse for awhile soaking up the sounds of the city as they faded from the district and moved on to other districts, the area was almost abandoned except the island lights of a few executives working late  or the occasional guards changing shifts, the night became quite peaceful, and that was when Snipes decided to strike. Stepping up from the garbage, Snipes quickly undressed to reveal a shadow suit underneath that he was glad he had invested in. Snipes looked down and in the darkness he could not even see his own form, smiling, he pulled the various pieces of jewelry and adornments from his hair, tied it all back in a loose tail and pulled the suits hood over his head. He reached down then, and pulled a set of goggles from his jacket and put them over his face, switching them on emmited a faint red glow, hitting another switch he turned it to infra-red and surveyed the area, everything was cool, no life forms bigger than a rat. Snipes smiled, then he grabbed up the small athletic bag he had purchased from a store earlier, in it now were two empty hard drives, Snipes shoved his clothes in there too and his boots, but not before taking the cutting torch out of the jacket. He zipped it up then and moved on to the back door of the bank, he couldn't remember what it was called, National Bank or something similar.

The door itself was massive and steel, it required some sort of id card and pass code to get in. Snipes switched the goggles to a dim mode and lit the torch, he cut the casing on the terminal then and went to playing with the wires, trying to remember what they had taught him in the academy and what he had picked up else where he picked and plucked at the wires and circuit boards, finally finding a combination that worked the doors slid open for him, he carefully reassembled the terminal and turned the torch on again, using a lower setting and a small piece of metal rod Snipes welded the terminal back together before quickly slipping in through the doors as they closed again.

The doors clicked shut as he slid in, now he knew he would have to be careful, he wasn't the best at infiltration, his days as a RAIDER had made him much less subtle, but he had to do it, that was all the incentive he felt he needed. Picking up the duffel bag, Snipes moved down the hall, no sign of security cameras or guards, so he kept moving at a decent pace. He looked around some on the ground floor, even though he knew he wouldn't find anything in the bleak blue-gray walls, a few offices, but all the terminals were turned off and he knew he couldn't slice into one of those, he needed to find something that was already logged in. He came to the turbo-lift finally and hit the button. Good, its still active. it slid open, revealing nothing other than a bare cylinder with a keypad. Snipes  stepped in and tried to remember the floor the manager he had spoken with had been on, 22? 23? 24? No, 23. he hit the two key and the three key and enter and quickly he was whizzing up ward, Snipes stepped against the back until it stopped, once the doors opened Snipes quickly slid out as a man looked up from his desk, he looked very tired and worn, it was the same manager Snipes had spoken with earlier, he was one of the lonely lights in the night, although the room was unlit other than the light from his data-terminal. Snipes set his bag down in the corner as the turbo-lift doors closed and the man looked back at his work, resuming his typing. Snipes stepped carefully over towards the man, he had taken the precaution of switching the goggles off in the turbo-lift as to avoid the detection they would bring. He was soon standing beside him, carefully controlling his breathing, Snipes wondered how to take the man out, and then he realized he didn't need to, looking at the screen Snipes witnessed the fallowing message, which he fallowed until the man completed it.

Associates,

I Regret to inform you that the board has decided to refuse your account, and we must withdraw our dealings with your company, VilCorp. Due to the sensitive political situation on the planet we do not wish, at this time, to become involved in any political occurances which could endanger the integrity of our reputation as a neutral party on this planet. We regret this turn of events and hope to return to a mutually profitable arrangement once the situation has abated.

                                                    Sincerely and with Regret,

National Bank of Devaron Board of Trustees.

The man sent the letter and began rolling his chair back, probably to just sit back, but Snipes pulled the chair farther back, causing the man to fall off, as he fell, Snipes swiftly kicked him in the back of the head, sending his head forward and then thunking back against the hard floor, Snipes reached down and checked his pulse, he was still alive, but unconscious, exactly what Snipes had been going for. Snipes quickly went and retrieved his bag, from hit he pulled his data pad and a hard drive, he then compressed as much data as he found possible and transferred it onto the hard drive, then he found the contacts list on the server and downloaded that onto the other, and then he left, quickly. Leaving was not a problem, Snipes knew where the door was, although he realized he didn't know the code, Snipes used the same method he used to get in to get out and once out he made a quick look around, no life signs, he quickly redressed and emptied the contents of the duffel into his pockets, then he threw the bag into the garbage pile and kicked some trash over it. After that he simply walked out of the alley way, taking the cigarra, which was a bit mangled (Bloody hell.), He lit it and walked back to the hotel, he intended to go the pent house, shoo out Anubis and go to sleep, but he met Otto in the hall and went up to his room for a few games of sabbac, a favorite pastime from their time in the RAIDERS together, while they compared findings and waited for Kuroishi to get back, so it was well past dawn before Snipes went up to his room and found Anubis asleep on one of his couches, too tired to say anything Snipes went directly to bed.

-----------------------

Glan Deras sat up on the cold floor and looked out his window, the sun was rwaising now, he s confused and looked around, it started coming back, he had sent the letter to thier Associates and then he had been going to go for a cup of coffee, but as he was rolling back the he had lost control of the chair and, he looked around at that point of though, and then he felt he must have fallen and hit his head on one of the chairs legs that extended from the bottom of the main cylinder that met the seat. He felt the back of his head, Yep, bruise is about the right shape, Ouch. he withdrew his hand quickly and stood up, exhausted, he shut down his terminal and went home to see his wife, it had been a rough month and this was his first day off in far too long, he wasnt going to waste it being unconcious.

Kiption and Merrick were lost.  "I told you and told you... I mean, how many times do I have to tell you.  Should have taken that left turn back there."  Kiption, sitting in the passenger seat of the car, was waving his hands back over his shoulder.

"What left turn?  There was no left turn.  You want me to start driving through walls."

"Honestly, this is what I get for letting a woman drive."  She punched him.  "Hehe, Alright, So take this left and we'll circle back.  This bar as got to be around here somewhere."

The last bar they were at was a complete and total dive, and would have been a complete waste of time, if not for the small listening devices they were placing on random tables.  Just the random conversation about some kind of a smuggling drop off for a recent shipment of arms that had just come in.

The drop point was this seedy bar that the pair were now trying to find, and not having much luck.  "You passed it again."

"You want me to turn down that alley and scrape both sides of this thing?"

"You really care about something that we just stole 10 minutes ago?" Kiption stared at her.

"It's fun to drive, though."

Kuroishi and Hunter came through the door as the sun was rising.

"How was your luck boss?"  Anubis asked as he noticed the duo.

"Largely a waste of time but not a complete loss.  Followed a guy I recognized until we found where he was staying.  Pretty sure he is a dead end but I think he did manage to lead us to someone else who might be worth checking up on for leads into the local criminal element.  Where is Snipes?"  Kuroishi answered as he tossed his wide brimmed hat at the nearest convienant rack.

"I think he and Otto are still playing sabbac.  At least they were when I went down to the restraunt to get a sandwhich."  Anubis replied.

"Well when they get done and up here wake me up.  Not used to the local rotation."  Kuroishi said before falling asleep in the chair he occupied.
