i was thinking that we could have a "Music Opinion Poll" much like Fury's quite succesful "Snack Cake Opinion Poll" except about music. to find out the favorite music type of VE.
personaly i like rap as long as it's got rhythm. none of that crud that's just somebody yelling random words into a mike w/ no rhythm and no rhyme. -----------------------

I am gonna have to agree with Cosmic on this. I think you will find that most people in the VE do not limit themselves to one type of music. Personally I keep the rap and country to a severe minimum for my tastes and keep the pop music at arm's length, but that's just me.
I think most of us would be damn hesitant to put a strict label onto what we listen to. -----------------------

Lesse, I do the same as Fury to rap and country, and I rarely listen to Jazz. Other than that, some stuff is good, and other stuff isn't, it really doesn't fall into one category  -----------------------

Well, summer time is upon us, and at this time I tend to get into punk mode, so my list is NoFX, Bad Religion, Rancid, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, Alkaline Trio. However, I don't forget the greats in this sea of angst. Led, Deep Purple, Hendrix, Skynyrd, AC/DC, the Doors, and Nirvana are also on my current suggested listening list. However, eighties pop seems to continuously crash through my head as a necessity through these difficult times, but I still recommend that no one ever listens to Frankie Goes to Hollywood as long as they live. -----------------------

Well, I like metal. MegaDeth is my favorite band of all time. I also like Linkin Parks new album, a guy gave it to me out here, and I started to listen to it, and its very intense and catchy. I also like some punk, although RF will prolly hate the ones I like because the punk bands I like are relatively mainstream now - NFG, Good Charlotte, Blink. But Metal is my fav. Anyone heard Metallicas new one? How bad does it suck? -----------------------

Pretty frelling bad.
I have listened to most of it once. There are some high points to it, but not a whole lot.
I'd expect this level of *quality* from a band just starting out, not from a band I've invested five concert tickets to see over the years.

heh i was just about to by it to...guess not...ne wayz i have to with tk-112 on his bands, linkin park and evanescence right now (lp has been ever since hybird theory).... some people say linkin park fell off with meteora but i actually love that album... i consider myself a sort of techno person, just cause i'm a ddr fanatic, but my fav music is ur classic rock...... favorit band of all time? Why is everyone bashing country?! Sure, some is just plain stupid, but there's actually alot of good stuff. Toby Keith is awsome (gotta love "Angry American"), Garth Brooks is decent, along with some other assorted songs.
