Hey everyone, I'm going to be running a starcraft tournament sometime in the next month or two, and I'd like to know how many people are interested. If you'd like to play, post on here and let me know your screennames. All matches will be played on BNet US East, and you will meet at room #ve at a time that is good for both people.
It'll start out as a round robin, I'll send you a person's info and you have one week to play a game with them or let me know that you can't contact them. We'll do that six times.
After that, we go into double elimination, you play people as you are given them, two losses and you're out.
If there's not enough participation, we'll go straight to the double elimination.
I haven't decided on rewards yet, you can make suggestions here as long as it doesn't become a discussion thread.

Um, this might actually be a small thing or a real large one depending.
Seeing as those who do go on IRC tend to visit the myriad of channels we already support, I am trying to figure out why the other server is necessary.
Hopefully it won't be a factor at all and I'm just worrying for nothing. |

I don't know anything about starcraft, but I do know this: if you support the expansion that kind of rules out people who have the game but not the expansion. This is Argon's comp though, so ask him on the rules! -----------------------

Fury, that server is how you set up games. It's an in-game IRC client thingy that ties in a connection to the game's host... I think I explained that correctly. -----------------------

Yup, Talon got it right on that one. Anyways, as to original or BW, I also prefer original, but I'll leave it up to a match by match decision as to which to use, it doesn't matter too much except to the people playing. -----------------------

Okay, I'm going to try to get this started right after AP tests (May 17th is looking good), so I'm going to be e-mailing you guys. I'll make up a list, and, with the people we have, we're going to jump straight into double elimination. This means that if you lose two games, you're out. All results must be sent to me by both parties to the game. Other than that, let's see how this goes. -----------------------

I will be rolling a dice or something to figure out who gets first buy, and we're going to play in a double elimination format. If anyone else wants to join, you have until May 16th to sign up. I will be sending out the first battle assignments on May 17th, and you will have one week to play agianst the person. From there, each battle will be due approximately one week after it starts.
Remember, two losses and you're out. Also, since I have the money and the store is no longer open, I'll be giving out prizes for this.
1st place will get 100,000 credits
2nd place will get 50,000 credits
3rd place will get 25,000 credits

I can't accept that. I'd love to jump in on this but I have to job search and move and crap.
In any case, let your friendly neighborhood prefect lay down the prize money on this as I would love to see some proper gaming going on around here again.
The revised (with Argon's approval) prize money listing will be:
