seeing as how I went to the roster before I saw this and looked to see if had been updated to show my name as his Adjutant, and I was there, but he wasn't, I guess he is leaving the VE as a whole. It's probably because his parents can't seem to respect our collective choices of religion (or non-religion) and politics (Heil Bush!) and for that I would be truly embarassed.
JMac did nothing but respect the opinions of others and always stood for what he believed and gave rational arguments as to why he did believe those things. If nothing else, his time here among us was probably good for his intellectual growth than not. I know it was good to hear his point of view in many of the debates that have gone off in the Lounge over the past year.
For whatever reasons they chose (and I hope we were not a large factor in that decision) I would like to keep this thread relatively free of parental abuse in the event that we are visited by his folks. You can be outraged and dumbfounded, but abide by the CoCs and you should be fine. I just don't want to see JMac's situation worsen by anything we did.
For the record: good luck to you JMac. I hope your parents learn to trust your judgement as much as the membership here has. -----------------------

If JMac's folks are concerned about the VE's religion or non-religion (as Fury has said), then I'm not too surprised there. I almost had to resign because my dad was peaking through my mail and found some DJO stuff containing the information to the Sect I was in. The DJO knows about that story, so I won't get too detailed about that again.
I guess sometimes parents just don't see the reality (or non-reality, depending on how you look at it) of the VE. We're nothing more than a group of people with similar interests who are just trying to have fun with the Star Wars saga.
Ok, I'm done.

actually, i know his parents personally, i practice a different religion than they do, and they're fine with it, i just don't preach it to them. it's not because of a different choice of religion, their dislike of other religions, or anything, it's actually because of something that is completely UNRELATED to this club. that's all the further i'll go into it, and yes, i have told his parents that i think they are a little harsh when it comes to stuff like that, and have even tried to get them to let me take JMac to my church (United Methodist) but his father doesn't agree with our doctrine. so Fury, sorry to say it, but you're wrong  -----------------------

And for the record: this is not the first case I've seen like this. Who here remembers a couple members that were sneaking on here with parental disconsent. Well, I sure do. It has happened a lot in the past. I'm more than happy to find out that this is not another case. When will parents get it? I join the VE 'cause JMac's in it and he leaves! As Liquid said, the reason does not involve the VE. JMac is still going to write his story by hand, so maybe Liquid or I will be able to post it. Who knows, maybe his dad will shorten the grounding from 5723 years to just 1984! -----------------------
