Seeing how nobody other than myself made it to the VE meeting from DD, I guess I'll give you guys a clue as to what went down.
Private First Class Durandal, Kael, and Urakai:
Congratulations, you all have been promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal

Ring of Merit [RoM] - A ring for troopers that have given their life, shown their bravery, and displayed their courage by giving one hundred percent in a competition or campaign. The Army High Command may award this medal to any trooper that has displayed these traits.

It is cool, but I would suggest that if you know or feel that you may not be able to keep up with the VE, just post on the leave board and tell us. That way you aren't liable for missed reports and lack of activity. As always real life comes before the Vast Empire always. I am one hundred percent certain that all of the older folks will tell you the same.

If you have not been assigned a specialty, I suggest you talk to Rizzit about it as soon as possible (he takes care of the specialties).
Essentially, every trooper picks an area in which they "specialize". There is a list of topics, each for which you must write a story in which you "learn" the subjet. You work your way up from the basics, to mastery of your field. You can transfer things you've learnt in specialty stories into squad stories (because all of our characters have room to improve. )
For example, my specialty is Vehicle Crewman. My specialty stories revolve around the operation and maintenance of vehicles (in particular walkers). I've nearly completed my specialty, which means I'll soon be able to advance to an advanced specialty.
Here's a link to the Specialty section of the VE Wiki in case I was unclear on anything.
Ooo, and if you complete the program, you get a nice little promotion.

Yeah, sorry about that. I had already made a post up of the previous position we were in before and was just about to post it when I realized you had already posted. I didn't wanna start from scratch again so I just modified it... We were in the armory right?
I read your story like once and thought you said the mines were holographic - "For this sarge was a hologram. Normally you cant tell even with a stormtrooper helmet whether or not they are holograms. But the sarge had made a horrible mistake, holograms couldn't set off mines, and he had placed a pressure sensitive mine at the two doors."
Anyway, we are cornered in armory (how I took it), you find a crate of grenades, we both grab a case of about 10 grenades in em, you start blasting at the doors to blow em open (once they were open we would throw cases and shoot the cases) but turns out they had explosives on the door already to blow the door. Anyway, armory starts exploding, I'm blow out of the room and don't see what happens to you.
I was a bit lazy and didn't feel like writing a whole other story and only read your story once, sorry.

Sayah, I don't know how many more times I can say this. One line posts are not acceptable. This club exists to help you improve you writing, and 8 or so words doesn't exactly give you a lot of practice. There is generally around a 200 post word minumum standard in most squads, as this ensures that the story/plot progresses. While we don't sit there and add the words up, at least try to get somewhere close. Otherwise I will continue to delete/edit your posts from the boards. One liner's are fine for lounge topics, but not for a squad such as the Dark Dragoons. -----------------------

Welcome Spartan to the Dark Dragoons.
Here is some general information that you should know.
Activity reports are due Thursdays. These should include, but not limited to, all of the following:
- story you have posted on
- specialty story you have done (which we will get you one asap)
- IRC activity
- etc.
These will be sent to myself and Kami (ASL). Email: [email protected] and [email protected]
Our current squad story is 'Suicide Run' and we'll see about getting you up to date on what that is all about and get you into it.
On IRC, the Dark Dragoons' channel is #dark_dragoons. This is where DD related things will be chatted about and should there ever be a squad meeting, this is also where it will be at.
Info on a squad meeting will be posted in this topic, so be sure to keep up with this topic.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. There are a number of people who are willing to help.
