After thinking about it a bit, unless a couple of Fleet Command members want to come in with you guys, I'd recommend shelving this mission for another time or modifying it enough that the original idea could be used later without being a clone of it. It's a great scenario for having SFC and FC members working together side by side on the damage control, so I'd like to hold it in reserve if there aren't a couple of FC members interested in jumping in.

Yeah, I would like to see two stories running simultaneously if at all possible. It's been too long since we've done that with small units. Deep, you've got permission to use an NPC ship if you like. A carrier-specced Strike-class might even be just the thing for a modified version of the idea.

Alternatively, if you can rope in Slasher or I (I'd be using an NPC, most likely.), the original idea could work just fine and we'd still have two small-unit stories. I'm going to check into whether I can rig a wifi hotspot to get me through Christmas break...if so, I'll be available to take part. (Note: I'd just be collaborating. Your next mission is your baby.)

Random musing: I've been toying with the idea of creating a permanent NPC, almost a secondary character, to get back in the cockpit some. Sounds like this might be a good time to put him in play.

How could you not realize that I promoted you so I could not only chop off your horns when you screw up but when others screw up as well? Alright, started a new story - link. Will see about getting it stickied as soon as I find someone with mod powers. Thought we could use 1-2 posts to provide some character background or further insight into their personalities that would help everyone else use them and interact with them later on.

Drac's bar fight, found here, is still active so feel free to join that too if you've got the time and the idea appeals to you - nothing like good, honest mayhem to make everyone feel more connected Note however that the bar fight would've occurred a few days after Belgaroth's battle but a few days before the new squadron's story.

Just wondering - is anyone aside from Fyston and I going to jump in and help their fellow Nightshrikes in the bar fight? Anybody?

Made a new post, feel free to continue intros and such for now but be prepared for some important lessons once next round will start - a few days at most I hope.

Be sure to also update your char information - siggys & wiki pages especially. I'm planning on updating the squadron page as well later this week, hence the reason I want all the info there to be correct. There's another reason however for which I'm delaying this - I'd like everyone to come up with a few NPCs to fill up the empty slots. This is entirely optional of course but if you choose to try and make a few you'd be gaining some brownie points from me I figure having some of your own NPCs around will also help you develop your chars in the direction you may have initially intended - if such a direction existed at any rate...

If you're interested just hop on the wiki and create a new char - similar to how you've made your own. The more detail (phys description, personality and background) the better obviously. Be sure to keep a couple of things in mind though - most of the Imperials were human. That's not to say aliens weren't allowed to serve... they were just fewer in numbers however. Also note that there are a few restricted species such as Hutts, Noghri, Ewoks and other aliens that are just too big, too small, too overpowered, too exotic and unknown or who of course are all Force Sensitives. So none of those.

If you complete such an NPC post the link(s) here. The best ones will be added to the unofficial roster (the IC one, not the OOC one). By the way this sort of activity also counts towards your "other contributions" sections when you end up reporting at the end of the week

Speaking of, I might add that I updated the squadron page a few days ago to add Shadow-sword, Ryn, and myself, as well as update Fyston as the SXO and remove members no longer present (according to the roster.) I also updated the current story to Bones and junk and darkness too.

I'll make my response to aforementioned story later today or tomorrow.

i guess you all missed my note about a Navy Holiday...

Just saw it now, boss. Well, I'll still give out the ICs for this week and count it as an on time report. At least it's on here and now I won't forget.

Twas the night before Life Day, when all through the ship
Not a stormie was stirring, well, not with any malice.
The spice was hung by the bunks with care,
In hopes that St Deepsix soon would be there.

The pilots were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of dogfights danced in their heads.
And Ryn in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long space’s nap.

When out in the hall there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the hallway I flew like a flash,
Tore open the blast door and threw down a flash.

The lights on the rest of the newly scrubbed floor
Gave the lustre of mid-day to aliens below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a speeder-sleigh, and eight tiny crewmen.

With an extremely drunk driverr, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Deep.
More rapid than TIE fighters his minions they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Shadow! now, Hades! now, Finbar and Flensor!
On, Drac! On, Driver! on, on Stormz and Trick!
To the top of the ship! to the top of the deck!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dead bodies that after the battle of Belegroth fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the hangar the crewmen they flew,
With the sleigh full of booze, and St Deepsix too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the deck
The prancing and snapping of each little neck.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the refreshers St Deep came with a bound.

He was dressed all in black, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with spices and loot.
A bundle of spice he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a dealer, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry, all from a little too much sherry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow, no doubt from the spice, bought by his ho.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a thin face and a ring of horns from a Zabby,
That shook when he got them, you shouldn't be jelly!

He was high and on crack, a right cynical pilot,
And I cried when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had way more to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the baggies, then turned with a jerk, as he thought that local narcs wanted some perks.
And laying his middle finger aside of his nose,
And giving a curse, up the refresher he rose!

He sprang to his speeder, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he sped out of sight,
"Happy Life Day to all. Don't tell NHC, alright?"

Thrown together in 15 minutes, more available on request. Now to go check my bank account.

Deepsix, the red-cheeked pilots
had a bunch of hired hoes.
And if you ever saw them,
you would even say they blow.

All of the other pilots
used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Deepsix
join in any of their war games.

Then one foggy Life Day Eve
Driver came to say:
"Deepsix with your skills so high,
won't you guide my squadrons tonight?"

Then all the pilots loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
Deepsix the red-cheeked pilot,
you'll go down in history!

No Zabby horn removal mentions in this one, as I couldn't make it work xD
