OOC:
For background on who the heck Elnine and Spilfer are, read the Prologue, it's not necessary unless you want to know, and it would help some to know what the heck we are here for.  It adds to (actually multiplies!) the awesomeness of the eventual surprises.  Work together on IRC folks, #Wildcard channel.  Let's have fun.

Leaving behind the rather expensive picket from Riqimo's pockets, Wildcard was now confronted by a planetless star system.  Garbage orbitted around the small sun where worlds should be.

“Ahh,” sighed Spilfer, “Paradise!”

“Indeed..” Riq muttered, still a little touchy that he gave up over 4000 credits as an 'admission' fee.

The outdated technology of thousands of worlds drifted in precise orbit around a massive wreck of some kind.  To Eline, the enormous wreck floating in the center of the system resembled a huge, metallic slice of dricklefruit pie ala mode – one that had been through a heated space battle and lost.  Judging by the mass alone, Riq thought it could easily be a major chunk of an Imperial Star Destroyer or space station of some kind, but none of its outer surface had survived to identify it.  It was a monstrous honeycomb of broken corridors, deck supports, and conduits.  Spilfer shouted, excitedly pointing to the massive wreck, “There is object of our quest!”

The entire ship was silent for about a minute until Arnaut gave a whistle.  Riq blinked twice before being the first to actually speak, “Umm, it's... a bit... large..”

Spilfer turned to Riq with a slight confusion before chuckling in his Squib-laugh, “No, no! Quest-Object in Big-Thing!”

“Oh, in that case,” Riq gave a sigh, there was no way they would have been able to tow that thing out of the system, let alone get it out without the Ugors noticing, “Do you have an idea on how to get aboard then?  The Ugor patrol around this heap seems... heavy...  In fact it is the only evidence I see of organized patrols...”

“From the styled black holes emblazoned on the side, I'd say that this thing probably has some religious significance to the Ugors... We might as well break into a Cathedral, and don't say it Arn.”  Riq glanced at the Squad Leader.  They had actually done the latter on a classified mission, but this looked a bit more complex.

“We could blast our way in,” Darr suggested.

“If you could get our weapon systems online first, and can get past the six warships, plus whatever else is out there not on patrol, it might work,” their pilot shrugged sarcastically.

“The old Hide-In-the-Garbage trick?” a random trooper suggested, Riq didn't catch whom.

“Eh,” Riq winced, “the Ugors are garbage experts, I rather not take that chance.”

Snipes, with a hint of alcohol on his breath, suggested something crazy enough to just work, “Stage a collision of some garbage, have it propel towards them, they'll have to clean it up.”

Riqimo nodded, “Our tractor beams are still operational, we could do that... nice idea Snipes.”

With some luck and preparation, two large chucks of garbage were orchestrated to collide with some basic physics calculations, sending the larger flying towards the center of the warships, using this distraction to its full potential their shuttle flew towards the titanic chunk of debris.

On one side of the wreckage they found a recessed emergency airlock, which used to face onto some non-pressurized area of the structure.  That area, whatever it was, now gone with the rest of the ship, left the remaining structure's airlock open to deep space.  And shortly after being spotted, was now the docking point of the shuttle.

Sliding on his Stormtrooper helmet, Riqimo gave the orders on the comm, “We'll be entering here, remember that our suits will have four hours of air supply.  If we don't find what we need by then, we'll have to return to here to restock our air.  Spilfer here will remain on the ship and monitor our helmet camera feeds to let us know when we see this 'Quest Object' that we're seeking.”

With that, Riqimo was the first out the airlock and into the airlock, which strangely had enough gravity to keep his feet firmly on the floor as if he was on a planet.  Several bits of Stormtrooper armor was strewn throughout the cooridor.  Some of the armor, however, was still packed with spray-on shipping foam.  A weapons locker on one of the walls was smashed open, spilling the remains of several Imperial-Issue bkaster rifles across the bent floor.

“Well, this was apparently once the Empire's,” Darr stated the obvious over the open channel as the remaining troops piled out and grouped into their squads.

“Darr, you'll stick with Raiders, I'll go with the Wraiths.  Iron Horse will also stick with me for a while until we find a split in the corridors.” Riqimo pointed down two halls, the smaller for the Raiders, and the larger hall, obviously the main corridor, for his larger group.

Just as everyone was about to move, a dozen distorted, metallic shapes clambered silently into view.  Riqimo recognized most of them as standard droids, but some were so twisted and bent to be unrecognizable.  At the lead was a dented and scarred interrogation robot – a black and chrome sphere of hateful technology.  A squad of bent and broken mouse droids slid into view along the floor, most of which had small blasters mounted upon them.

“These are the droids... that survived this place..” Riqimo muttered over the comm, “Take up defensive positions just in case.”

As everyone slid into cover or took firing positions Riqimo sighed when he realized why he hadn't heard the droids coming, there was no sound save for the comm system.  He was in vacuum after all...

One of the mouse droids quickly fired a bolt of red energy at him, which Riq narrowly avoided and rolled to cover behind a storage footlocker.  The platoon returned fire as soon as Riq was out of the field of view, destroying most of the mouse droids, but allowing the droid carrying the interrogation droid to escape.

“All clear,” Riq popped his head up when his torchlight revealed that they had all disappeared into holes in the ship.  “Keep your eyes out for more of these... they seem to be the only things on this ship.  So let's be thankful for that much at least.”

Holding his rifle at ready his motioned for Kanderin to take point while Riqimo was immediately behind him with the rest of Wraith, and with Iron Horse holding the rear.  It was going to be an interesting exploration mission.  Maybe they'd learn what the heck this wreckage was.

OOC:
Sorry about the delay there.  But I promise you fun plot twists in this thing.  Sadly I can only average an hour or so on the computer lately with RL running as it is, so try not to go too fast folks

And what this place is, and what the quest object is... they're both...

wait for it...

wait for it...

wait for it...

wait for it...

Surprises!
(God I'm mean )

Seriously though, be patient, it will ALL be revealed to be pure awesomeness, or at least fun-ness.

Space. It was big. Really, really big. It hurt Arnaut’s mind to think how big. And to think just how small he was, stuck in his cramped vacuum-suit, and walking through the remains of an Imperial something-or-rather in the Capital System of the Middle of Nowhere. And on top of that, the object they were looking for was hidden somewhere in the middle of all the crap that filled the piece of crap they were in, and only recognizable to some runty little alien that was currently lounging in Arnaut’s definitely-not-crappy ship. Being small wasn't fun.

“This mission sucks,” he muttered into his comlink. There, he’d said it. Now he could be all glum and just get the stupid thing over with.

“I heard that,” Riq warned.

“And you know it’s true.” Riq glanced back at Arnaut and frowned in his best impersonation of a condescending Imperial officer. He didn’t pull it off very well. Arnaut stared back, keeping his face perfectly straight, until Riqimo finally shook his head and continued on.

From Corridor A, the one that they had entered into, they moved to Corridor B, and then to Corridor C, and then D a few minutes later. Only D had an uncanny resemblance to B, including Imperial standard footprints that looked rather fresh, causing them to backtrack back to Corridor C, before finding Corridor E...partially collapsed and hidden behind three bulk crates and a dead bulk lifting droid. It wasn’t until the two squads – Iron Horse and Wraith – had made it halfway down corridor E that they realized that the droid wasn’t actually dead and was, in fact, now shooting at them.

Arnaut used an entire clip in killing the thing. He wasn’t the only one. In adittion, Corridor E collapsed further, effectively cutting off the squads and Riq from the drop-site.

“Total tally...four clips, a det pack, twenty-five minutes and twelve blaster scorches on various people’s armor. All for...what, maybe twenty feet of actual distance toward the interior of this hunk of metal. I swear, if the rest of this trip is going to be like this, I want a refund.” Riqimo glared at Arnaut.

“We need this thing, more than we need you. If you don’t want to be on this little trip, I’d be happy to take your blaster and suit, and you can walk all the way back to our transport,” Riqimo snapped. Arnaut shut up. For the moment.

The mess of metal they were trekking through had seen better days, Arnaut noted as they walked onward. Empty doorways, black and empty, stared out at them in every hallway. Pretty soon, cracks and fractures in the shell of the ship failed to provide sufficient ambient light, and the squads were forced over to helmet lights. That made the whole ordeal seem more like a horror flick than a simple retrieval mission.

Around the next bend, the hallway stopped. It hadn’t originally stopped, but it sure did now. A jumble of frayed wires, shattered pipes and torn metal, all smashed and twisted into a near impenetrable wall. Riqimo called a halt and contemplated his next move.

The hallway creeped Arnaut out. Arnaut could feel the hairs on the back of his neck pricking up. It was dark, and broken. It screamed of destruction, mutilation, decay, neglect, death. Whatever had ended the ship, it hadn’t been gentle about it.

And it wasn’t only the ship. It was the scratching noise. The little tiny scratching noise that had somehow wormed its way into the back of Arnaut’s mind. It grated on his nerves, pulled at his senses, frayed his wits. It was small, it was irritating, it was...impossible.

They were in a vacuum. There was no sound in a vacuum. The only way something could make noise would be if it scraped directly against Arnaut’s suit. His helmet, in fact. Arnaut chuckled, and looked up, half-expecting to see a shambling zombie-droid reaching out at him. When he did, it nearly gave him a heart attack. He started screaming, screaming and firing.

The droid, or zombie-droid as Arnaut had nicknamed them, leaned out from between a gap in the ceiling panels. It’s arm could just barely reach the top of Arnaut’s helmet, and thus the scraping against the top. It was mutilated, wires and parts hanging out, and resembled a flayed human in a very disturbing sense.

Arnaut’s first blasts tore it’s arm clean off, ripping straight through the metal and going into the ceiling panel. The force of the blasts crumpled the panel, blasting it up and out, and revealing the space above the corridor. It was full of droids.

More people started screaming then, and all semblance of order the squads had maintained up until that point fell away as fast as they could get there guns out and start shooting.

"Oh great!" Koll shouted, bearing down and taking potshots at the various droids coming forward. These things were tough and hard to kill, granted you consider blwoing up a droid "killing" it. Koll would worry about the semantics of it later. He checked his thermal detonators at his belt. Four, like he always carried, dangled nicely in reach. He picked one up and launched it forward. "Frag out!" he shouted. Forgetting his basic space-physics classes, he lobbed the grenade, and it began to fly. Straight up into the cieling of the corridor, that is. "Sithspit!" Koll shouted, returning his attention to the battlefield.

Suddenly, a shock rocked the battlefield. The grenade, by pure chance, had drifted into the duct the droids had started coming out of. The explosion blew out the top and bottom of the duct, causing some of the duct to come careening down on to the droids. It landed on maybe two of them, by Koll's estimation, but that still left about twenty more.

Koll had given up on trying to destroy the droids with just his own fire. He joined others trying to fell the things. Arms, legs, heads, all mechanical, flew in every which direction from the already decrepit droids. Koll reloaded his third clip that fight and fired a few more shots with both pistols at a one legged droid's foot. As it took its next hop forward, he landed on a stub and fell to the ground. Both Wraith and Iron Horse fell fire on it. Someone from the crowd threw another grenade, faring a bit better than Koll. "Sir?" Koll shouted in his comlink.

"What, Private?" both Riq and Arnaut returned at the same time.

"I think this mission more than sucks!"
Who needs to be affirmed by others when your actions already do that for you?

"Since when were my squad such complainers..." Kanderin sighed, unloading several more clips into a droid that had just turned the corner. He was creeped out, but he wasn't scared. He was a wraith afterall, and wraiths have met far creepier things than a few retarded old robots. Well, at least he and Arn had. Helena and Koll were definitely new to it, if not the rest of the squad. Space seemed to be causing something inside him, but it wasn't fear. It was more forgetfulness. He couldn't remember half the squads names, yet alone how long they had served. When it came down to it it really didn't matter, there basically wasn't a squad format right now.

"Kand! Pay attention!"

He flicked out of the trance just in time to duck under the robots arm. Although a bad idea in hindsight, Kanderin decided to aim a right hook into its chest. It hurt like hell, but it had the desired effect and sent it spiralling off its feet and into a tangle on the floor, shortly before being shot to pieces by Doc. Which is when Kand realised, it had no legs. It had managed to drag its severed torso up the arc of the doorway he was stood in, up the six feet to Kanderin's neck, and then aim an attack, and Kanderin hadn't saw one movement. A hand put itself onto his shoulder, but this time he wouldn't make the same mistake twice. He swung around with his right hand again, only for it to be caught.

"You okay Kanderin? Maybe you should head back to the ship" Do asked, concern present in his face.

"No" Kanderin sighed "No, I'm fine. Just a little startled thats all. I'll be fine in a minute"

"Alright, well let me know if you need out of here, its too dangerous for you to be not in a good mental state"

"Thankyou sir"

Kanderin glanced around to find that all the robots had either been destroyed or had fled. With the amount of sparking wires and dead robot parts lying about, he hoped so. The idea that there was even more waiting for them was, sucky.

OOC:
Meanwhile, with Raiders Squad…

“Alright, watch out for more of those things.” Rannik said, walking slowly down the hallway with his A280 raised before him, “Don’t shoot unless your spotted or I give the order.”

“Yeah, yeah, we’ve got it.” Snipes said, likewise moving ahead cautiously. The group crept down the corridor, stepping over thick wires that snaked across the floor. There was a flash of sparks ahead on one of the walls, causing them to halt and train their sights on it, before recognizing it as a loose wire.

“Not jumpy at all, are we.” Rogueboy said with a touch of sarcasm in his voice. Darr-Rann grinned under his helmet as he shook his head.

“Those droids could come from anywhere; we’ve got to be careful.” The Sergeant Major said, halting the squad for a moment. He looked around the hallway, scanning for enemies, before taking a second to look back at the squad following him, feeling a sudden longing for his days as squad leader. He nodded to snipes, and then continued forward.

As they proceeded, a clicking sound rang out through the hallway from around an upcoming corner. He held up his hand. Snipes waved ahead Private Kry, who moved up along the wall. When he reached the corner he withdrew a small wire camera, holding it around the edge so that the squad could see. Droids, all armed, stood waiting for them.

“Alright… hit them hard around the corner. Your weapons free.” Rannik said, readying his own weapon. They paused just for a  second, then ran forward.

Blaster fire tore through the air, droids quickly falling under the onslaught. Those that were fortunate enough to have survived the initial attack fell back, returning their own fire. Raiders held their ground, keeping up the attack until every droid lay shattered and burnt.

“Good work.” Darr-Rann said. He clicked on his radio, “Riq, we’ve just encountered another group of droids. We wasted them, but this time they were stationed in the hallway waiting for us. Be careful – the droids at least are definitely alert to our presence by now.”

“Rodger that.” The platoon commander replied, “Keep in contact.” He turned off his radio. Gesturing to the squad again, he moved forward, stepping over the shattered husks of droids. If their enemy was alert already, this would be a much harder mission to carry out. He was pondering the situation when suddenly he heard Rogueboy yell out to him. “Darr, look out!”

He hesitated half a second before leaping aside. A shattered droid at his feet fired at him, just missing his head as he moved out of the way. The squad opened fire n the droid, causing it to immolate as it’s plating was torn open. It fired for a few seconds longer, burning holes in the ceiling, before finally coming to a halt.

Darr-Rann breathed deeply, and nodded his thanks. I’m too rusty. If Rogue hadn’t spotted that thing, it would had killed me. He buried his worries down again, waving for the squad to continue.

It was Helena’s first time in a no gravity zone, and it was starting to show. She clutched her armour close to her abdominal area. She felt light headed, but she knew it couldn’t affect her…

The area was dark and silent, not the best combination, not that she could hear through her suit in any case. Helena frowned as she looked around the corridor she was in, she couldn’t find anyone she knew, that didn’t seem like a good situation seeming as this was a big ship to cover.

Helena coughed before speaking up.

“Anyone actually there?” she sighed.

“Helena, I’m right behind you” Kanderin replied.

She spun round in terror as her heart was racing, and her body was shaking. She was breathing heavily due to the lack of air, let alone her fright.

“Why do that?” She shouted.

“Whoa now, everyone can hear you”

Helena slapped her helmet in direct hit with her forehand with her right palm.

“Great stuff”

Helena spun back around to face a dark corridor which seemed untouched. She was dying to have a sneak peek inside, but Kand grabbed her hand before she could even walk towards it. There seemed to be robots surrounding him, dead ones of course, but it didn’t seem to faze Kand. He continued slashing and hacking away at the robots arms and bodies. Helena couldn’t help but laugh at him.

“This is such a drag” Helena heard him mumble.

Every corner was a nightmare, a nightmare coming to life. If RK hadn’t known any better he could have swore he was dreaming, but after the previous fight it was as if he had been pinched, confirming he was definitely wide awake.

“Riq, by any chance are we in some demented Tomb for Robots, and the ‘Quest artifact’ is… oh I don’t know, the only way we can put these robots at peace?” RK was trying his best to lighten the situation; even though he knew that fear was already spreading throughout the group.

“Yea, were just happy jolly artifact hunters, who kill robots, makes a lot of sense doesn’t it?” Koll snapped.

“Sorry, I ever asked.”

The next few moments were silence. Every step was another risk, and they knew it. RK half-expected to see a ghost or another bunch of robots jump out at them, blood dripping from their mouth and hands. It never happened, but the fear still clung. RK tried his best to keep calm, but it was becoming more difficult to fight it off.

“Hold it.” Koll’s voice came, startling them all.

“What is---” Jenn asked, her voice cut off by Koll.

“Something moved.”

RK pulled his blaster up, leveling it towards the area that Koll was looking. He kept himself calm, and let his body move on instinct. Nothing had jumped out yet, but he was starting to re-consider his ghost theory.

“Are you sure you saw something, or was it your mind and fear playing trick on you?” Helena asked.

“I swore I saw something, and it was white.” Koll replied, his head still stuck on the place in front of him.

Crap, it’s worse than I thought, we also have Stormtroopers; so dead robots that can move, and ghosttroopers, what’s next? RK grinned at the thought. It was amusing, but at the same time a little demented.

“Alright, let’s move on, just keep your eye’s open.” Riq moved ahead, making his way slowly down the corridor. The rest of the squad wasn’t so sure, but they eventually followed suit.

Liam kept a close watch on the platoon’s rear. Since the very first attack and the tunnel collapse, Liam’s instincts were going nuts. There was an itch between his shoulder blades that just wouldn’t go away, and he felt like he was walking into a trap.

It soon became clear that they were, in fact, walking into a trap. The deeper the platoon moved into the bowels of the twisted wreck the more and more droids began to pour out of the ceiling. Nothing was going as planned, and the platoon was quickly running out of ammo. Liam had already gone through two of his four clips, and they hadn’t even found the thing they were looking for yet. Even if they did find it they would have to get it out, and that was going to be just as challenging.

Even through the stress of combat, Liam fell into a rhythm. He was bringing up the rear of the platoon, and so he ended up walking backwards most of the time, constantly sweeping the hallway with his E-11/M. His job wasn’t so much to kill everything behind him but to lay down covering fire. The droids were tough, but they had horrible aim, and they seemed to have very cautious programming. If Liam had to guess he figured they were some sort of salvaging droids with high-end defense mechanisms. Or they had been at one point, anyways. Now they were more scrap than droids, but still quite dangerous.

As the platoon turned around a corner at a ‘T’ intersection, Liam swept the hallway behind them, making sure nothing followed them or caught them by surprise by coming from the other direction. Since he was bringing up the very rear of the squad Liam was the last man around the corner, effectively separating him from the squad for a split second. The result was a moment of vulnerability that caused warning bells to go off in Liam’s head. Acting on pure instinct, the Platoon Sergeant dropped to his knees and rolled to his right, just in time to avoid a droid that burst through a ventilation shaft in the wall right where Liam had been standing. Without thinking Liam dropped his E-11, pulled his combat knife from it’s sheathe on his utility belt, and slashed at the droid.

The results were quite impressive. While the droid was impervious to laser fire, the hard titanium-durasteel alloy of the combat knife cut through it like butter. The droids head detached from its body, and the now-limp frame fell away, crashing to the floor.

Sheathing his knife, Liam picked up his E-11 and hustled around the corner. Much to his chagrin the rest of his squad hadn’t even noted his absence. Liam shook his head and keyed his mic. When he spoke, his voice was cold and hard.

“Boss, this is Hayes,” he said. “Looks like these droids aren’t as impervious to knives as they are blasters. I think the same might hold true for slug throwers, if you get my drift.”

There was a second’s silence, then Gio’s voice filled Liam’s helmet. “Roger that, Hayes. Thanks for the let-know. Doc, did ya hear that?”

“Sure did, Gio. All troopers, switch to projectile weapons if available. Let’s speed it up a bit. I don’t want to spend anymore time aboard this wreck.”

Attaching his E-11 to a specially designed sling on his waist, Liam drew his pistol. He had had it specially modified for this mission, with the results being it was now vacuum-rated. It was bulky, and ugly, but it did its job, and that was enough for Liam. Sweeping his pistol, Liam continued to keep watch on the platoon’s rear, hoping that whatever they were looking for was close by. He was growing tired of these droids.

Traveling down the latest corridor was largely uneventful, a few mouse droids scurried away into holes before the squads were able to fire a clean shot.  Only the sound of their breathing within the helmet filled their ears, the lovely vacuum preventing any noise to hint what may lay ahead.

Breaking the near silence, Riqimo flicked on his comm for the two squads, “Anyone here think they can slice open that door?  Or at least force it open?”  He motioned to a heavy blast door with the standard Imperial symbol for restricted area.

RK of Wraith, a combat engineer volunteered and quickly went to carefully playing around with the controls.  Within two minutes he had the door opening, and the squads were immediately pimmelled with all manner of debris.  A strange and powerful gust of wind pushed them all back as they struggled to look beyond the hail with weapons ready.

Riq caught a light gleam off a shiny metal helmet, his eyes quickly focused into the darkness on the spot and saw a tall dark figure standing framed in a doorway on the other side, its cloak whipping in the unnatural wind of a pressurized chamber escaping into vacuum...

Riq had never seen the figure in person before but he knew who it was, legends were shared about this sinister figure and only word could sum it all up... Vader.

Several green troopers instinctively shot at the figure as soon as the saw it, and the cloaked figure seemed to sway aggressively like a snake to strike in response.  One lucky shot however hit the helmet which rolled off and slid downwards towards Riq's feet.

“It's just a spare helmet and cloak of Vader...” Riq barely hid the surprise in his voice, “This wreckage is apparently more important that we thought it was...”

“You're telling me,” Arn whistled through the comm, just as surprised as all of them.

“Spifler, is this the... quest object?” Riqimo made sure to turn his head down so his camera feed showed the helmet.

“No! Bigger! Lighter!” Spilfer sounded like he was fidgeting with something on the other side, hopefully not one of the key components of the ship.

Turning back to the local frequency Riqimo waved his squad onward, “This isn't what Spilfer wants.  Something both bigger and lighter.”  He glanced back down the hallway they were traveling down earlier before entering this chamber, “And apparently we got a three way split up ahead as well, so I think it's time to split Wraith and Iron Horse up a bit.  We'll maintain regular radio checkups, every 20 minutes.”

The Horses nodded and Gio led them down the left corridor.  Riq let Arn choose the direction for his squad, which was straight ahead rather than a right turn.

“You know be nice if they left the lights on for us,” Kand sarcastically suggested as he thought he caught something out of the corner of his eye for the third time, “The darkness makes it too hard to see things.”

Riq shrugged, “Make do with the torchlight on your rifle, odds are the droids that are here salvaged as many of the power generators as possible to keep themselves running, and I doubt they need the light anyways.”

Kand returned the shrug, “At least they could be better hosts for their guests.”

The squad shared a laugh as they began a door breach maneuver to a blast door that was blocking their path down the hallway.  Apparently it closed in attempt to keep the pressurized atmosphere on the other side.

Giovanni felt a little out of the loop. Since he and the rest of Iron Horse with their dwindled numbers were bringing up the rear, he was occupied with keeping things from sneaking up on the group comprised of his squad along with Wraith and his platoon commander.

For this reason, much of the humor and horseplay taking place near the front of the group went over his head. He was too preoccupied with getting hit by a stray blaster bolt from one of those malfunctioning droids.

He had read about what happens to a soldier in the vacuum of space when the seal in his helmet or any part of his armor was compromised.

It wasn't pretty.

All in all, however, he wasn't having a terrible time. Droids were predictable, and not a challenge for him or the rest of his squad.

In a manner of speaking, this was like a walk in the park. Except that the park was the floating wreck of some sith-forsaken ship, and instead of a walk, it was a very uncomfortable shuffling of feet, punctuated by the occasional firefight.

What did bother him, however, was the fact that they were on a wild goose chase with a limited oxygen supply for something that was both large, and light. It was like finding a needle in a needle stack.

Giovanni caught something moving out of the corner of his eye and took out his anger on it. The droid's chest compartment burst into a potpourri of scorched metal and mismatched gears and moving parts. He likened it to gutting a man with a knife, minus the screaming in agonizing pain.

Yet the whole time, nothing but silence. He was really starting to hate the vacuum of space.

"So, considering we don't find what we're looking for the first time around and have to all go back for oxygen... how many trips do you think we can make until the Ugor figure out we're playing in their backyard?" inquired the newly appointed Iron Horse squad leader. He wasn't questioning his platoon commander at all. He just wondered how the hell they were supposed to make it out of the clump of trash they were jogging through alive, much less back to Tadath in one piece.

Hiss The door was finally open. RK was the first to step through the newly opened door, his body trembling with each step towards the inside. Once past the doorway he froze and frantically looked around, making sure nothing was lurking in the shadows.

“Coasts---GAH!” Something dropped out of the sky and landed on top of RK. He immediately started to move around frantically, lashing out with his arm to get whatever it was off. He could hear the laughter of the squad in the comm.; Yet , he continued to thrash about.

“Calm down RK, its just some Zero-g armor.” Riq said, barely holding back laughter long enough to even speak.

“Oh.” RK grinned underneath his helmet and pulled the attacking armor off, letting go limp on the ground.

After a few more moments of laughing, they proceeded. RK took up the rear just in case any more surprises were to come he wouldn’t be the one getting caught up in them. I swear that thing was haunted. RK thought, trying to shake the night mare.

-_-_-

The Zero-g kept limp on the ground, a harmless piece of equipment, unless in the wrong hands. However, the figure standing above it had other plans for this equipment, after all this was its home and someone had invaded it.

He picked up the armor and slipped it over his metallic body. The only thing missing was the helmet, but luckily there was a stray helmet lying on the ground. He quickly picked it up and placed it on its head. Die…..

-_-_-

RK kept getting the feeling someone was following him, but he knew nothing was there. Besides every time he looked he just saw another one of his squad mates behind him. It was no big deal; at least he hoped.

“Are we getting any closer to this ‘Quest thing’” Kand’s voice came over the channel.

“Don’t know, depends on what it is.” Riq replied. His eyes were peeled in front of him the whole time.

“It can’t be much longer, this thing’s not that big, is it?” RK asked. He was still looking behind him frantically, but still seeing one of his squad mates.

“We’ll get there when we get there.” Arnaut said. It seemed that his nerves were starting to calm, but there was still and edge of fear.
They continued their trek through the hallway. It was hard to see, even with the lighting coming from the squad’s blasters. However, it seemed that their nerves had become calm, even RK had stopped looking behind him.

“Alright, just to make sure nobody got left behind.” Arnaut spun and started counting heads. He counted eight people, including Riq. “Good, we have eight people, meaning everyone’s accounted for.”

RK wasn’t so sure though, didn’t they have seven people originally? He counted for himself, but coming out with seven, it wasn’t a big mistake, but something was out of order. What… could… no. RK slowly turned around, but never got the chance to complete his look. Something hit him, hard, making him go down. He hit the ground, hard.

Pain seared through his body, making it hard to move. The attacker was already making it way through the rest of the squad. RK was able to move his head upward to see his squad mates firing at the intruder; every blast missing its mark.

“Stupid Di’kut.” RK mumbled as he pushed himself up. The pain from him being rattled inside his suit made it difficult, but he did. The next few minutes were a blur for him as he pulled his blaster up and aimed it directly at the Intruder who was now firing back. “Die!!!”  He knew the words were in vein since nobody could hear them, but it was worth it. He shot three blasts, finally bringing the armor down.

“I told you that thing was haunted!” RK said through the comm.

It took a while for them all to regain their composure, but finally Koll spoke up. “It’s just a robot in the suit RK.”

RK didn’t even respond he just moved his way past the rest of the squad and started making his way the rest of the way down the hall.

“What was that?” Arnaut asked quickly.

“What this time?” Kanderin replied, quite exasperated with Arnaut’s antics thusfar. He looked down the length of Arnaut’s outstretched arm and into the darkness of a room beyond. “Just the shadows. And why are you still carrying that thing?” Arnaut looked down at the Vader helmet strapped to his belt.

“This was one of Vader’s helmets. Vader! As in Darth Vader! The Darth Vader!” Arnaut exclaimed, as if there’d ever been another one. Kanderin shook his head and pushed past his squad leader.

“You just wished you’d picked it up first!” Arnaut yelled after him. Arnaut glanced around, and, upon realizing he was now running at the rear, jumped and caught up with Kanderin. He’d been expecting Iron Horse to be there, but they’d broken off a while ago. Arnaut shuddered at the thought of being left alone in the dark ship, accidentally waiting for the squad that wasn’t coming. That would really--

Arnaut was down, on the steel grating of the floor. There was blood pooled in his helmet, effectively blinding him, and his comlink was going wild with chatter. It took him a while to realize why his vision kept flashing bright and getting dim, many times a second. He was seeing the reflection of blaster bolts off the floor as they streaked over his head.

His nose was broken, hence the blood. It poured freely, and hurt like hell. In a normal combat situation, he would’ve taken off his helmet and set the cartilage, but in the vacuum...oh, how he loathed vacuum fighting. Instead, despite the pain in his arms, chest, and face, he pushed himself up and rolled onto his back.

“Arnaut’s alive! He’s alive! Breached, but alive!” Yes, yes, he was alive. Huzzah. Alive and doing...had Koll said breached?

Arnaut practically spasmed, as he ran his hands down the length of his armor. Or, his hand. His left hand and arm seemed to be devoid of all feeling. Instinctively, at that thought, Arnaut’s good hand darted to the left upper arm. And the good size gash through his armor that was there.

Arnaut clamped his hand over it, not quite sure if it had broken all the way through, and pulled himself into a sitting position. Ignoring the pain in his nose, he shook his head, causing the rest of the blood to slide into the helmet’s filtration and waste system. Sure enough, as soon as his HUD was visible, the first thing that Arnaut saw was ‘Breach Detected’ in giant, flashing red letters across his vision.

At once nausea and vertigo hit him, and pain flooded into his left arm. His suit sealed the arm off at the shoulder, but it left the arm part decompressed to the void outside. With no pressure, all the nirtogen in Arnaut’s blood turned to gas in the medical condition commonly referred to as ‘the bends’. Arnaut gritted his teeth as the pain began moving throughout his body, following the path of his circulating blood.

Using his right hand, he frantically clawed at the pack on the back of his armor, trying to find the sealant. It wasn’t there. Panic began to set in. Why wasn’t it there? It was always there! He’d packed it himself! It should be there, it was there, it needed to be there! That’s when he looked over and found Koll, now kneeling next to Arnaut, feeling the tear in Arnaut’s arm with Arnaut’s sealant.

“Pulled it off your back while you were down,” Koll explained via the comlink. Arnaut heaved a sigh of relief. Looking around, still slightly in pain but better for knowing he was going to survive, Arnaut found that the battle had stopped. There were still signs of it: blaster scorches, shredded wall sections, what looked like claw marks on the wall.

“What was that?” Arnaut asked, looking back to the squad. They were reloading, every one of them. They’d used a lot of fire, apparently.

“I...don’t know. It hit you before we’d even seen it coming. Your initial scream alerted us, but without that, we’d all probably be dead. It moved so fast, and those claws....they were sharp.” Kanderin nodded toward the marks on the wall.

“It didn’t have any blasters, but it didn’t need any. All our blaster fire, and our solid slug rounds, were pretty useless against it. And then, it just ran off. Very strange.”

“Indeed,” Arnaut murmured. “Tighten up, everyone. Find a buddy and stick with them. And cover the flanks. We don’t need this happening again. Next time that thing comes after us, I want to find a way to kill it.” There was a general buzz of ‘yes, sirs’ and ‘right aways’, followed by an uneasy silence.

“Well then...let’s go,” Doc finally said, snapping the squad out of its trance. They brought their weapons to bear and followed the Platoon Leader into the darkness.

1.) No sound, besides comlinks and direct contact.

2.)YES to Gravity. Doc established that the ship had gravity in the first post. No floaty things!

3.) The void is NOT evil. You will not freeze in space. You will not burn up. You will not explode. This is the worst that could happen.

Anything else you think should be added to this list, please tell. And if I have anything wrong, just tells me, but, for now, this should help keep continuity errors about space and the physics that go with it to a minimum.

There was something about space wrecks that gave Dante the creeps. He didn't know if it was the tomb-like silence, or the signs that the ships had once been bustling with life, but he'd always hated these EVA actions. The droids only made the parallel with a certain other mission even worse.

The droids had stopped coming, which should have been a relief. Instead, the sudden change only added to the tension the RAIDERS felt. Even Darr seemed slightly nervous, moving his A-280 to the left and right as he walked. The Raiders pushed their way through partially collapsed rooms and service corridors, always on the alert for movement. The area they were in was surprisingly well lit and apparently free of droids, but no one felt reassured.

Abruptly, Darr held up his hand, stopping the group. With his free hand, the Sergeant Major gestured at the area ahead. The clean, light grey of the corridor was abruptly replaced by charred black metal and a pile of debris that blocked off any further passage. It was clear that there was no way for the RAIDERS to go any futher do the corridor.

There was a loud beep, and the entire squad spun as one. They remained frozen in that position for several seconds, their rifles trained on the source of the noise.

"Just a kriffing sensor."

It wasn't clear who had said it but it didn't matter. The squad relaxed slightly, and the troopers lowered their rifles. The doorseal had automatically hissed open at their approach, and continued to stay open as Darr slowly moved towards the portal. The area beyond was dark, but seemed to be empty of droids.

There was a shriek of static from Dante's helmet com, followed a moment later by the voice of the Platoon Commander.

"Lieutenant Riqimo to RAIDERS squad, acknowledge."

"We hear you, Lieutenant." Darr replied.

"The Wraiths ran into an unknown contact. It appears to be highly resiliant to our weaponry, and tried to ambush us. It fled for reasons we aren't sure of, and it might be headed in your direction."

"Understood. We'll deal with it if it shows up."

"Be very cautious. This thing can tear through our armour as though it was flimsy. Doc out."

There was a buzz, and the room was silent once more. Dante caught himself looking nervously at the shadows, and tappped the side of his helmet, a habit he slipped into whenever he was nervous. Several of the other Raiders also seemed to be ill at ease, shuffling from foot to foot or pointing their weapons at random. Darr gestured at the room to the left, and the RAIDERS filed in one by one.

This part of the ship was much more similar to the area where they'd first entered: the lights here were flickering or deactivated and there were parts of stormtrooper armour scattered across the floor. Dante knelt, picking up a fragment of a breastplate. Unlike the almost pristine parts they'd seen upon entry, these looked like they had been torn off their users by brute strength. Some were crusted with a brown substance that Dante had no doubt was blood.

"Where are all the bodies?" Private Kry whispered, voicing the question that had been echoing through Dante's mind throughout the mission. He'd expected corpses, maybe withered from the loss of fluids but still recognisable as such. Instead, the corridors had been empty of anything but droids. It was almost like those old tales of ghost ships... Dante shook his head. The droids they'd fought had been very much real. Things were bad enough without them frightening themselves.

They walked through twisted corridors, taking the longer route whenever cave-ins or battle damage blocked their way. As they pushed deeper into the battleship, they began to find pieces, not of the crew but of the droids. Disembodied torsoes, broken limbs, heads with the faces crushed in by some tremendous force...whatever had done this had not been gentle.

The RAIDERS found their way into what had apparently once been an armoury. Empty boxes and E-11's were everywhere the floor, along with grenades and armour. Some of the white plastoid suits were still shrouded in their original translucent wrapping.

Dante took the point as the group made its way into the chamber. There had once been a large durasteel table in the centre of the room, but something had torn it apart and thrown the remains across the room.

Part of it had smashed into a rack of blaster rifles, scattering its contents across the room. There was a droid propped up against the wall, but a cursory examination revealed that it was in no condition for combat: its outer shell were riddled with carbon scoring and most of its head was missing.

There was a screech of metal on metal, and Dante spun around in time to see the pair of blast doors they were emerging from closing. Celota jammed his A-280 between the metal plates in an attempt to stop them from closing only to see a shower of sparks as part of the rifle's barrel was sheared off.

"What in he..."Dante began, but broke off halfway as he saw a glimmer of metal on the door across from the now closed entrance.

"Contact!"

The security drone, clad in clumsily-attached parts of stormtrooper armour, charged through the partially opened doorseal and was abruptly put down by the combined fire of the RAIDERS. Even as its remains sparked and stopped moving, half a dozen more sprinted in. Worse, these were armed with E-11's they'd looted from the area.

Dante emptied half a clip from his MA5B slugthrower into the foremost droid and saw it stagger back, falling apart a moment later. Marka yelled as he decapitated another with a vibrosword, a yell which turned into a curse as the now blinded robot continued to slash at him with an arm mounted blade. Dodging the drone's wild slashes, Marka cleanly removed its weapon arm with his blade before finishing it with a blaster pistol.

Yet another wave of the drones was marching into the room, when they abruptly stopped, literally in midstep. Taken by surprise, the RAIDERS didn't fire. Dante was beginning to hope that their positronic brains had finally shut down when they turned around and fled.

One or two troopers fired at their retreating figures, but the droids didn't return fire or even turn around. That, in a way, was even more worrying. The room shook slightly, and clouds of dust flew into the air. Somewhat randomly, a fragment of a thought passed through Dante's mind as he scanned the room, the MA5B cradled in his arms.

By the prickling of my thumbs...

Didn't get off to a very good start, hope this fixes that up.

Jenny was alerted, DC-17 rifle in hand and ready to fire, with RK at her side as they covered the flanks with Kand and Helena while Arnaut did the same up front with the rest of the squad. She wasn’t as scared or nervous as everyone else about the ‘dead’ wreck that they were wading through, which had its creepy, gloomy, even noir seettings, with shadows engulfing them in darkness, except for the spots where the blaster lights shone, for the thing that frightened her the most was the night of her parents’ death, and that feeling was feelings of big goosebumps and chills up your spines, that made you appalled to an extreme rate, even creepier than in horror movies. Where the hell is that blasted creature? Damn thing nearly snuck up on us if it wasn’t for Arnaut screaming out. I hope using melee weapons can work better on this thing than blasters or slug weapons. Jenny thought, reflecting back on the thing that had attacked Wraith, holstering her rifle on her back and taking out her prized vibroblade---The Ch’sei sword while Riqimo relayed the situation to Raiders, sounding very concerned.

They walked along the corridor, the doors on either side almost staring at them as they pass, the echoes of voices could almost be heard behind those doors, the men that have died there, for they occasionally saw dry blood or body parts or even droid parts splattered all over the floor, an stomach blown open almost making Helena puke in disgust. It wasn’t a pleasant journey into the depths of the wreck, for occasionally they would hear something that disppears afterwards that left what was similar to a claw mark on the metal wall. It nerved Koll a lot as he quickly said annoyily:

“The damn thing’s stalking us, where the hell did those Ugors get this big guy, it kind of feels like that creature we met back in Ord Mantell.”

“Except it hit harder than quicker and we don’t even know if the Ugors actually did hire this big guy. Stay alert, guys, the damn thing is most likely---”Arnaut’s words were cut short as Jenny followed his eyes towards two vent opening popping out and droids stepping out, firing their blasters wildly around as the squad took cover.

Jenny took out her blaster pistol in her left hand and fired at the droids, getting one of them in the head and chest, letting the sparks fly as it was ‘killed’, still keeping her eye on the rear of the Wraiths. She saw that Arnaut had a bad feeling about this and kept looking back, for the droids weren’t even trying to kill them and there wasn’t too many of them to put up even a bit of fighting with no stormtrooper armor wore on themselves, they even attempted a death charge to no avail. Except for her, Arnaut, Kand, Helena, and RK, the rest of the privates didn’t realize that this was definitely a trap, and one not worth waiting for.

Then Jenny saw it, the creature that attacked Arnaut, with thick armor on its skin and god knows how many gunshots on the armor, all covered except his shoulders, knees, and neck, which she would aim for. RK fired upon the thing as it roared in silence, unable to be heard in the vacuum, almost like a silent movie. Jenny knew blaster shots were no good, that skin was almost as thick as probably a sand creature’s skin, you had to go melee. RK must have not realized it, for soon as one of his blaster rifles’ shots accidently hit the eye of the creature, RK got hit hard in the face by it, falling upon the floor unconscious, as she screamed out to the rest of the squad, still concentrating on the retreating droids, not realizing it was a trap.

She holstered her pistol and took up her vibroblade for the fight that she never knew she would run into since the Gammorean, and this was the combination of the Gammorean and the krayt dragon-like creatures that the Wraiths met in secret underground labs on Ord Mantell, for it kept dodging her swings and stabs and blocking her swipes with his claws, moving quick despite its great mass while she avoided claws clawing out at her beautiful face. Several team members tried to help, but was quickly swiped away as Jenny took two fierce punch in the stomach, her body quickly weakening as it she took one last shot and landed a stab in the creature’s shoulder, missing her chance at the neck and getting another violent punch in the face, landing on the floor also unconscious, the creature quickly retreating almost as if on orders, Wraith squad members still trying to get a shot or swipe on it.

“Jenny? You okay? God, you look like shit, face looking good, though.” What Arnaut said made her chuckle a little and still cough out quite a bit of blood as she replyed still with confidence, Arnaut raising her up and lifting her with the help of Kand to the nearby wall, checking her wounds, and patching her up:

“Third time’s a charm. Riq, I suggest we tell Raiders about its melee weakness, just like the bots, except the bots can’t stand projectile weapons, it can.”

“Alright, Jenny, try not to talk too much, you’re not looking in much of a good shape after that.” Riqimo suggested with a tone of caring and concern as he keyed in the comlink to contact Raiders on the latest situation.

“Gets the blood pumping, it’s worth the try killing that damn thing, those Ugors, they’re gonna get their soon.” Jenny responded, looking at RK, who was just waking up, mumbling as he slowly got up, shaking his head and walking in a wabbly way:

“Oh, Goddamn it, am I in hell already?” This brought laughs to Wraith squad, and as soon as Jenny was all patched up, she was carefully lifted to her feet by Helena and Kand. Jenny was reeling from the punch with just the bloody cheek and quite the indent in her stomach, she was glad she didn’t eat much before the mission, for it would have made her puke. Yep, third time is certainly a charm, to get this creature stakehoused would be the squad’s pleasure. Jenny thought hopefully, gripping her blade tight.

Kand hated being humiliated, especially by something that didn't have the guts to hang around. Wraith squad, one of the most highly trained squad's the Vast Empire, no, the universe, had to offer, was being toyed with by some thing as if they were nothing more than action figures. It had nearly killed Arnaut, and Jenn was looking far from her normal self. Kanderin had to assume this thing was stalking them, waiting for a drop in the guard and then pouncing. It would attack the member that wasn't paying attention, do as much damage as possible and then escaping before the full squad could take up arms.

Not again. Kanderin looked down to long piece of metal trailing most of the way down Kand's leg. His electrostaff. It hadn't ever had that much action, but when it did, it was deadly. The amount of electricity it could channel through itself after even the slightest brush with an enemy was immense. The lucky one's were knocked unconscious, the unlucky, he tried to forget. He didn't know if the thick skin would be able to resist such a blow, or even if it would function properly in this area, but it was worth a shot.

He crouched at the waist and began to remove it from the specialised pocket he had custom built into the suit. It wasn't in the same vacuum of air that his body was, it was in its own attached to the main suit, with a rubber insert cementing them together in case of a fault. He pulled some of the buttons towards himself, causing the pocket to fall open and the staff rolled out in response. He caught it in his palm and swapped it into his right hand, his blaster being pushed to his left.

"Jenn, RK, move ahead of me and Helena" He called back.

"You sure Kand? It's pretty dangerous back here" Jennabelle replied, her voice somewhat stifled by her puffed out cheek.

"That's why I want to be back there. If it strikes again, I want to be able to respond straight away. See how a few thousand volts suits the thing"

"What about me Kand? I haven't got one of those....thingies" Helena asked

"You should be alright as long as you stay close and pay attention. It seems to be pretty smart, picking on the one's who momentarily lose concentration" Kand replied, patting Helena's shoulder padding.

"Ah good, glad I'm not the only one that thinks that" He heard Doc reply.

"And there's me thinking it was just me"

"Kanderin, sir," Koll said in all seriousness, his old shyness and deference coming back to the forefront. "With all due respect sir, that thing's fast, and one person alone may not be enough to take it on." Koll drew his vibrosword from his back and pulled his knife from his belt. "Let me join you." Kanderin looked skeptically at the two blades Koll now held.

"Koll, you sure...?" Kand began, but Koll cut him off.

"With all due respect, sir, Ive been trained since I could walk in Zabraki martial arts and graduated at the top of my class. I may not be as fast as that thing, but it could give us an advantage. I don't think we can afford any more casualties." Koll walked back towards Kanderin. "Besides, with both of us watching for this thing, the chances are less that any of us will be caught by surprise from behind. Again." Koll let that hang in the air a bit as the squad moved on through the corridors.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Koll once again wished he had his fiber-optic stealth suit, but that wasn't quite air-tight enough for vacuum missions. It could make all the difference in a fight. Remove the enemy's ability to see you, and you get a free shot that could easily shift the flow of battle. Koll gripped his vibrosword and knife all the tighter. he was really starting to hate this mission. Riq kept in contact with Iron Horse and Raider's squads. Suddenly, a point hit Koll.

"Hey, this place has gravity and stuff, right?" Koll asked. He waited for an answer, but the squad apparently took the current surroundings and situation to be an adequate answer. Koll continued. "So, why haven't we hit anything like a generator or something, you know? Something has to be powering this stuff." Tired, Riq turned around and adressed the private.

"Look, Koll, this is a big place and we've only been walking maybe half an hour?" A shadow moved quickly behind Riqimo. Koll and Kanderin turned and looked at each other, took a second, then both started charging towards the platoon leader.

"Get down!" both Kanderin and Koll shouted, Koll adding the honorific "sir" at the end. Kand blocked one arm from a swipe with his staff as Koll blocked the other. Each man gruned with effort from holding back the mechanical arms. Koll took a momentary thought of surprise that he wasn't electrocuted by the discharge of the staff. It was all the thing needed to take him and throw him against a wall.

Recovering slightly, Koll looked onward. Jenn had joined in ruthlessly with her own vibroblade as Kanderin continued to struggle valiantly against the machine. Koll shoved himself to his feet. and joined the fray once more. The thing saw him coming, batted Kanderin's next blow away, struck Jenn in the stomach, temporarily winding her, and tossed Kanderin away. It turned quickly on its heel and darted back down the hall.

Kanderin swore over the comm and said, "it got away again!" Wearily, Koll joined the group once more. He was unsure how much more suprises from this thing he could take.

Rogueboy was walking through the halls with the rest of his squad and Darr, twice troopers had reported hearing sounds around the corner as they worked their way deeper and deeper into the annals of this floating fortress or whatever it was. The fact that these troopers were hearing sounds worried RB, they were in space noise doesn’t exist. Wait…what was that, Rogue peered inside one of the many holes that riddled the surface of the station. There was definitely a sound emitting from it, so faint that it was barely a whisper, straining his ears Rogue was able to hear it. “Beeeeer, Beeeeer, Beeeeer.” It said in a voice that Rogue could barely recognize.

Quickly Rogueboy turned his comlink on for squad talk. “Fuck off, Snipes.” A chorus of laughter emitted from the squad leader’s mic as the squad looked on confused.

Ignoring the squad’s glances RB slowly took the lead, the eerie silence of space creates a certain sort of agoraphobia in some troopers. Raising his hand to halt the squad RB peered into the inky blackness of the awning ahead of the squad, his A-280 did not have a flashlight as he wasn’t planning to end up on some stupid ship getting attacked by stupid robots that only know how to kill people. However Rogue did have one thing he could use, reaching into the side pouch of his backpack on the opposite side of his currently useless canteen and pulled out an already activated glow stick. Shrugging at how the glow stick was already turned on Rogueboy slowly pushed it down the awning and began following it.

The glow stick did its job admirably as it floated down the slanted flooring with RB and the squad only a few steps behind it. “I got a joke for you guys, knock knock.” Rogueboy said.

Snipes sighed, while Famus’ voice came over the comlink. “Whose there?”

“You got screwed by.” RB said as he kept his eyes trained on the glow stick hoping his peripherals would pick up anything it would show.

“You got screwed by who?” The green recruit said.

“You got screwed by a rancor.” Raider veteran said.

It was a weak joke, RB knew it but said it to break the tension but he didn’t have to waste his time as a blaster bolt appeared seemingly out of nowhere hitting the glow stick and causing it to erupt in a chemical reaction that destroyed all the particles, plunging the squad into darkness. “Anyone see where that came from?” RB asked.

“If your lame joke wasn’t distracting me I would have.” Was Snipes’ sharp reply.

“I saw it come from the right.” Darr said.

For the first time in a long time RB felt fearful, the sensory deprivation was starting to get to him he was starting to breath heavy, random thoughts were coursing through his head, perhaps he was starting to lose his mind?

Alright, looks like its getting to that point that I need to give specific scenarios for ya'll to work with   You'll get the BIG plot twist tomorrow I assure you

And sorry if I seem to miss some small things related to in other posts, I write this in the small timeframe I have and as quick as possible.

“Riqimo, we found what appears to be a garbage chute, want us to check it out?” a voice came over the comm as the commander was trying to dodge some bolts coming from a few annoying mouse droids that he had a newfound respect for.  Especially when he got his bum hit twice by the fast little buggers.

“Might be a good idea,” Riq kicked one of the droids onto its side and nodded thanks to one of the troopers that had put the last two droids out of commission.  “Considering Spilfer and his like love their garbage, be nice to find it there and get the heck out of here.”

“Alright, Raiders standing by for examining the chute,” the comm connection switched off and Riqimo and the Wraiths were back to their silent advancement down the corridors seeking anything that could have been a 'quest object' some huge computer panel wasn't, some strange looking engine wasn't, and nor was the shiny foil that Spilfer had Riqimo carrying around anyways since he wanted it.

“Think this mission sucks yet?” Arn asked Riq on a private channel as Spilfer told them to bring back the head of one of the modified protocol droids they had just defeated, despite not being the quest object.

“Not really, think of it as a scavenger hunt, or more of a salvager hunt in this case,” Riq was certainly agreeing to the 'suckiness' of the mission, but he wasn't going to let anyone else know.  He had to maintain his officer's poise and position, even under fire... and even when getting blasted in the arse by another mouse droid... “Sithspit!” Riq loaded a whole clip into the mouse droid that had just sneaked up behind them and gave Riq yet another scorch mark on his rear end.  So much for poise in that situation...

Meanwhile with Raiders...

“Dante, you go first,” Snipes motioned to the chute and half-sarcastically added, “Break the fall for the rest of us,”

Dante wasn't exactly keen on being first going down a narrow chute that would take him gods know where... but nor was he going to disobey a direct order, he was enough of a soldier to know that he was probably the best person to react quickly enough at anything that may suddenly occur, especially when compared to Snipes who may have still been intoxicated for all they knew.

Making sure to position his feet properly as to slow his decent enough to avoid breaking any bones at the end of the chute, Dante let go of the sides and let himself fall.  It was an unusual sensation, he was in vacuum and thus no gust of air blew past him to give him an estimate of his speed.  Unfortunately he was counting on that and the fall might turn out a little more painful than he had anticipated when he started down the chute.

Almost as soon as he was about to roll up into a ball to minimize impact, he shot out into a pool of water that strangely persisted in vacuum.  Something was strange about this place, and Dante wasn't exactly sure what, nor was he sure he wanted to know.  Get in, get out, that was how it almost always was for him, and hunting for something he didn't even know what it was definitely was making this take longer than he liked.

After a quick confirmation through the comlink that it was safe, the rest of the Raiders as well as Darr came down through the chute one by one.

“Well, anything of interest?” Darr asked as he waded through the knee-high water.

“Looks like Snipes found something,” Rogueboy chuckled through the comm, gesturing towards the Squad Leader.

Snipes made a grunting noise over the comlink, as he seemed to have uncovered a length of gray greasy leather, and was apparently tangled up in it.  He must have been inebriated as he couldn't seem to get out of it.  His frantic attempts were comical to the rest of the squad as he tried to pull himself from the much and mire.  It wasn't until he was pulled under and came back up gasping and throwing swear words at his squad over the comlink that they realized the grey thing was actually a tentacle and pulling on the squad leader.

“It's a Dianoga!” Darr shouted and fired a blaster bolt at the bulk of the tentacle, but in his effort to avoid hitting Sniping cause him to miss entirely and the blaster bolt to bounce back and forth about the walls, causing chaos as everyone tried to engage the beast and avoid being hit by the bouncing blaster bolts.

Meanwhile... in a more peaceful (for now...) corridor...

Iron Horse was understaffed to state the least, but they were expected to do the full work of an entire squad.  It wasn't quite fair, but they took upon it as a challenge of their skills and comradery.  Riq admired that in the squad, and he knew that they were more than capable of a squad's worth of responsibilities, and probably even more with that mentality.

“Doc, I've found a sign!” RK shouted over the comm, causing the Horsies to glance at each other, they were apparently close to the Wraiths again now, in fact right around the corner form them.

Gio, a veteran, knew to comm in that they were nearby so that friendly fire could be avoided, “Doc, we're apparently right around the corner, coming over there, hold your fire if you don't mind.”

“Ah, happy reunion eh?” The platoon commander turned towards the Iron Horses as soon as they came into view, “Good timing too, we found something that may help us out a bit here.” He pointed to the sign that was next to an out of commision turbolift.

“Down two levels is a control room of some sort, and down three more is the power generator for it. Get the generator working, and then we'll probably at least be able to pull up some map or something.”

“Sounds like a plan,” Gio nodded, “Anything to make our job easier.”

“One itty bitty issue,” one of the Wraiths looked up from a scanner, “There are sizable droid populations in both areas.”

Gio shrugged, “Those tin buckets haven't outdone us yet, and they won't do it on my watch.  Riq I'll take the Horses to the generator and get that running, you would be better at the computer console, since you have a better idea than all of us why the hell we are here.”

“Well since you are going down five levels and we're going down two, I'll let your squad start down the turbolift tube first... just don't fall... I tried tossing a piece of junk down there about five minutes ago and I haven't heard it yet.  And I doubt I ever will.”

OOC:
So, Raiders deals with the little critter.  After that, they'll regroup and come towards us.  Iron Horse goes to the generator, powers up.  Wraith and I will get to the control room.  Have fun and feel free to introduce some creative license.

Oh, and thanks Arn for those facts.  As for number two, there is a reason for that, that will be explained as soon as I get to the control room

“Well, I never thought I’d say this,” said Giovanni, fastening a cable from his standard issue grappling hook to his belt harness. He stopped and tried to remember what he was going to say, but after a good minute of groping around in his mind, he couldn’t come up with it.

“What was that, boss?” Brock was as curious as the rest of Iron Horse squad, all preparing themselves to rappel down the turbo lift tunnel into the great abyss below.

“Never mind that. Just shut up and keep your eyes peeled. You hear Doc. I can almost hear the little bastards squirming and beeping down there with their cold metallic hands.”

He was really starting to hate droids. Like the rest of the squad, and the vast majority of the army, he saw droids as friendly, docile machines. The ones he had encountered fetched him drinks and helped him with his bags. These ran around and hid in crevices and attempted to end his life.

“Looks like these cables aren’t long enough to take us down more than a floor at a time. I guess it’s just as well, we should look around each floor just in case we find something interesting to plund…I mean… salvage.” Giovanni was thinking out loud again.

“Okay, let’s do it.”

The tunnel was wide enough to accommodate the entire squad rappelling down at a time. They inched down the pitch black opening and were dismayed to see that the first floor below them was pitch black. Liam was the first to touch down and with the press of a button, unhooked the cable from the floor above and reeled it back onto his belt.

Turning the light on his blaster rifle, he swept the area as the rest of his squad came in through the turbo lift entrance. Luckily for them, the doors had been blown out and were nowhere to be found.

Giovanni pointed his rifle and inspected his surroundings. There was rubble everywhere, at least a foot deep. Near the doors that lead to hallways, it was stacked up at least man-high, and prevented them from pushing further.

“Fine by me. I didn’t like this floor anyway.” Ken turned around and hooked the grapple firmly in the gap where the sliding doors for the turbo lift used to be. Giovanni let his squad prepare to descend another leave and took the chance to report back to Riqimo.

“Come in Doc.” Doc garbled back a response. “The floor directly below you is in lousy shape. Unless you and yours wanna shovel debris for a good hour or two, there’s no way you’ll be able to delve deeper than just the lobby where the lift is located. Me and the boys…” he forgot about Fayeena, and waved to her in apology. “…and girl…are just about to head down another level.”

“Roger that, Gio.”

With that, Gio closed the com channel and joined his squad. They were almost out of sight by now, barely hanging on to the floor with their hands as they hung precariously on the metal wire attached from their grappling hooks.

“Ok, one down, four to go…”

I hope the control room isn’t much farther. Every step RK took was like another struggle, every fiber of his body hurt; the taste of copper made it’s way into his mouth within the last few moments.  Everything felt like it was falling apart, one step at a time.

“How close…” RK paused trying to catch his breath, “are we?”

“Shouldn’t be to far off, you ok?” said Riq.

“Yea” He lied, but he didn’t want to have the whole squad stop just for him, besides he could manage on his own.

They continued to walk through the corridor, only to be stopped by the occasional mouse droid; which came to no surprise to the squad. Just another nuisance, on a very peculiar mission. Arnaut had said; the words, however, still rung in RK’s head, this was a very odd mission and whatever it was they were looking for had to be even more peculiar.

The closer they got to the control, the more droids they ran into, including the occasional deformed astromech droid. RK had already fought a few of them, getting continuously zapped by their electro-pulsor’s, which just made him ache all the more. What shocked him all the more was that they seemed to now have miniature lasers replacing their optical sensor. Their blind…. So how do they know where here?He fought off a few more mouse droids and then began to work it out; how where they able to find their exact position and get a good hit in? of course, just like any blind person, other senses.

“Guys and Girls, the astromechs, if that’s even what they are, they can feel the vibrations from our weapons and our walking.  So if you just stand still.” RK said, realizing that would be more difficult, especially with the mouse droids that seemed to be making their way into the small area. Making it seem like a small flood starting to come in, slowly.

“Yea, so save ourselves from one threat, but let the other threat destroy us slowly?” Koll said.

“Yea, just keep fending them off… there has to be a way.”

“But if we keep moving more will come, and who knows how many more are in the area.” Kand said, interrupting the short conversation.

“There has to be a way…” RK said, half thinking. There just has to be a way to stop these things.

Iron Horse continued down to the next pitch-black level, the lights from their rifles constantly moving along the bulkheads. The cone of light from Ken's rifle shook constantly, the only outward indication of his fear. He had grown accustomed to combat, but not like this. On the ground, he could hear his enemies and see them clearly. On this lonely ship, death leapt at you from blackness, and even the helmet's various optical modes couldn't give him the same awareness his own two eyes could. In his desire to finish the job and leave, he foolishly hurried and was the first to reach the next deck down.

His boots landed on the deck without a sound. He frantically swept his light across the passageway, making sure he was the only one there. The passageway proved to be empty, clear of rubble, with only a handful of doors scattered on each side. Ken unhooked himself from the next deck up and walked cautiously to the first door on his left side, checking behind him to make sure his squadmates were still there behind him.

"Here goes..."

Ken tried the door console, but couldn't get it to work. Apparently, the droids already had access to everything they wanted, and conserving energy was a higher priority than seeing what was in all the compartments. Ken looked down the hallway and saw that all the door consoles were just the same -- dead and useless.

"No good, Sarge," Ken reported. "Door consoles are off on this level."

"What's the door say?" Gio asked.

Ken looked up at the label and read it for him. "It says 'Fire Control B.'"

Giovanni shook his head. "Forget it. We'll check behind the doors on the way up. Keep going a little farther, see if there's anything else interesting."

Ken nodded and proceeded down the passageway. Thankfully, he reached the end without encountering any of the murderous droids. He returned to the turbolift shaft quickly and took several deep breaths.

"This ship creeps the hell outta me," Ken muttered.

"Don't worry," Liam explained, "once we get the lights on, it won't be half so scary."

With a glance back over his shoulder, Ken replied, "Yeah...well, now it's your turn to check the next level down.

Arnaut picked up a piece of twisted metal off the ground. It was about the size of his fist, crumpled up, and quite heavy. Bouncing it in his hand a few times to get the feel of it, he lobbed it off into the distance. When it landed, it was immediately blasted apart by at least a dozen shots. The shots continue well after the metal had turned to molten slag.

“Well, we know where they’re hiding. Open up,” Arnaut commanded.

The troopers raised their weapons, slowly, trying not to move excessively. Kanderin held up his first three fingers, and then dropped them down in rapid succession. The Wraiths tore apart the room with blaster fire and seven astromechs ceased to exist. Arnaut lobbed another piece of metal down the hallway, and, upon finding it safe, motioned for the squad to move on.

It was slow going, testing a hall, giving the all clear, moving forward a few feet, and then repeating the process. The amount of droids the ship contrained was really starting to piss Arnaut off. They all, obviously, hadn’t originated on the ship. There were many droids that appeared to be non-Imperial, with some, mainly the astromechs, bearing Republic markings. The Ugors must’ve just collected them all up and stuffed them on the ship. No, sorry, their cathedral. Some cathedral. If these droids were the congregation, Arnaut’d hate to meet the priests.

A few corridors in, and they were almost to the control room. It was just ahead, in fact, right behind the door that had ‘Generator Control’ stenciled in big, white letters on its face. In the joy of finally reaching the goal, many of the Wraiths broke formation and rushed forward, without first getting the all clear signal.

Arnaut went to call out after them, but suddenly blaster fire was tearing at them. Arnaut ducked and jogged forward, hunched to the ground, the air around him ablaze. Koll and RK were pinned down in the middle of the hall, cut off from the rest of the squad, and

“Walked right into their trap! Never break formation! Never! Ever!” Arnaut screamed, sliding into a sitting position against a wall. The wall section in front of him was missing a panel, and the astromech within swiveled its gun to point at Arnaut’s chest. Arnaut raised his A-280 and destroyed the droid’s upper half.

Not all the fire was coming from the hidden astromechs, though. The droids that had first forced Arnaut to run were coming up the hallway that the Wraiths had already cleared, the supposedly safe hallway. Arnaut blasted one off its feet, and fired at the second one. The droid didn’t back down. It kept coming on, gun outstretched, walking with a slow, monotonous trudge. It almost looked like it wanted to be shot. Like a...decoy.

Arnaut looked around just in time to see the Wraiths new droid friend sprinting down the hallway, toward Koll and RK. It’s long, armored arms trailed gracefully behind its body, ending in five slightly curved, deadly-sharp blades. They clicked and twitched, as if hungering for something to kill.

Without thinking, Arnaut raised his blaster and fired. Arnaut knew it was useless, knew the blasts would be ineffectual, but he had to do something. The shots did do something, though. They weren’t able to really harm the droid, but the combined volley had enough force to knock the droid back a few feet. Koll and RK turned and gasped as they saw the newcomer. Both scrambled backwards across the floor, putting as much space as they could between themselves and the thing before they opened fire with their own guns. Arnaut, instead, took a more practical approach.

He started toward the droid, slowly at first, but rapidly speeding up. As if by some will of its own, Arnaut’s knife found itself in his hand, outstretched, and ready to maim. With his left hand, butt of the gun tucked under his arm, Arnaut fired his A-280, keeping the droid from gaining too much momentum or moving very far.

His clip ran out about seven feet from the thing, and it took its chance to lash out at the incoming Wraith Squad Leader. Arnaut had been expecting that. Sort of. He dropped, legs sliding across the floor, and barely managed to escape the full force of the droid’s swing. As it was, two of the droid’s five “fingers” cleaved two long gashes across Arnaut’s left shoulder guard.

Now underneath the droid, Arnaut shoved his knife up and into the gap between the thing’s legs and torso. The legs spasmed out as the connection between the servo-motors controlling them and the “brain” was severed.  It lashed out again, but it was a clumsy, confused swing. It’s arm jerked like a bad puppet.

Arnaut pushed himself up and around, coming up behind the droid, and slashed through its neck. The head rolled free, and the droid collapsed in a heap. Just to make sure it was dead, Arnaut ran his blade through the torso, right down the neck joint. If it was a real, high-class droid, the “brain” could be located their too. Not all humanoid droids followed humanoid physiology these days.

Koll and RK, whose blasters had been trained on the droid during the whole fight, slowly lowered their rifles.

“Sonuvabitch,” Arnaut spat, kicking the headless body over.  Helena came up to him, clutching the head in her arms.

“Ah...assassin droid? I think? I’ve never really seen one up close,” she said, handing the object over to Arnaut.

“I think we were shown a few holos of these things back in spec ops training. Never expected to see one here...or, really, anywhere for that matter.” He gazed down into the eye slits. They stared back, at him, with something like a touch of defiance. “It must’ve been pretty run-down to perform like it did. If it had been in its prime, I think I’d have been dead twice now.” Arnaut tossed the head over to Kanderin.

“Isn’t that something...y’know these were classified assets until just a few years ago. Didn’t even exist, officially. They were used for some of the highest hits, sometimes by...well, by Vader himself.” Kanderin looked around the dark hallway. “Just what kind of ship was this, anyway?”

“This ship creeps the hell outta me,” Ken said upon returning.

Liam tried to put him at ease. In a cold voice that contained no hint of sarcasm, he said, “Don’t worry. Once we get the lights on, it will only be half as scary.”

Ken looked back at Liam and replied, “Yeah…well now it’s your turn to scout the next level down.”

Liam shrugged his massive shoulders and checked his rappelling rig one more time. Everything checked out on the rig, so Liam went over his gear once again. His E-11 was still in the sling on his hip, and his pistol was in its holster, strapped to his thigh. Both were fully loaded, and both were extremely deadly. His combat knife was also clear of its rig on his utility belt. Reassured by the readiness of his weapons, Liam prepared himself to descend to the next level.

As he readied himself on the edge of the tunnel, Ken asked a question. “Doesn’t it bother you at all?” he asked, somewhat disbelieving.

Liam smiled behind his helmet, and answered, “I like the dark.”

The last thing Liam saw before he pushed off from the ledge was Ken shaking his head as he went about preparing his own rig. Then the rest of the squad was gone, and Liam was alone in the dark tunnel.

He hadn’t been exaggerating when he told Ken he liked the dark. Liam had always relied heavily on his gut instincts, and so when he was in the dark he felt comfortable, despite the fact that even with the infrared and night vision filters on his helmet he couldn’t see very well. As he rappelled down the turbolift shaft Liam scanned the area below him, searching for the next level. At first he couldn’t see the next door, and fear began to creep up his spine. If he couldn’t find the next level before his cable ran out of extension he was going to be in a tight spot.

Finally, after nearly a minute of searching, he found the door. It was only five feet down or so, but it was recessed into the shaft wall, and so Liam hadn’t been able to spot it. Moving slowly he pushed off the wall and dropped the rest of the way down, swinging into the doorway. Once he was on stable ground he released the cable from his belt and immediately pulled his pistol from his holster, scanning the area for any hostile threats.

The floor was utterly silent. Even with the night vision and infrared filters Liam could see nothing beyond a few yards, and the result was unsettling. Whether he liked the dark or not, the utter blackness, the silence, the deadness of the ship made Liam very uncomfortable. Throughout the entire mission he hadn’t seen one body, or any signs that the ship had ever been occupied. Whatever had happened to this twisted hulk had either been planned, or simply so quick and destructive that it left nothing behind.

Suddenly a voice erupted inside Liam’s helmet, causing him to jump. “Hayes, report,” Gio ordered.

Cursing quietly, Liam took another look around. He then replied to his SL, this time speaking loud enough for the helmet mic to pick up his speech. “I don’t see anything on the landing, boss. Come on down.”

Liam received an affirmative from his squad leader, and decided to scout farther in. He drew a glowtorch from his utility belt and held it in his left hand so that when he let his arms hang at his sides the light pointed down and back. He then held the light out in front of him, resting his right hand on his left wrist. The result was that Liam could shoot accurately while still pointing the torch. Shaking off his nerves, Liam advanced into the darkness.

He had barely made it two steps when something tackled him from behind. Liam’s instincts took over. Dropping the light and his pistol he rolled with the hit. He was driven to the floor, the wind knocked out of him but relatively unhurt. His attacker went flying by. Rolling back to his feet with a grunt of effort, Liam drew his combat knife and crouched, waiting for whatever had attacked him to return from the shadows.

When the thing didn’t return, Liam keyed his mic again. “Boss,” he said, attempting and succeeding in keeping most of the discomfort out of his voice, “you might want to get down here. We have company.”

It was dark, smelly, and filled with blaster bolts. It said a lot for the place that this was an improvement over the corridors.

"Damn it, how's this thing even alive?" someone shouted, their voice almost drowned out by the splashing and screams. The answer was fairly self-evident: the stained bones and tatters of uniforms testified to the final fate of the wreck's crew. In the near-darkness, Dante caught a glimpse of an empty stormtrooper helmet, its T-Visor cracked and partially missing. That would be him if he wasn't careful.

Dante found Dianogas completely disgusting. Between the nest of tentacles, gaping beak, and rows of sharp teeth that could penetrate armour, they were completely loathsome. The fact that it was trying to kill him and the others was just the com relay on the tower.

No fewer than half a dozen tentacles were writhing in all directions, and several RAIDERS appeared to be having trouble fending off the appendages. One of the troopers spat curses as the dianoga began to wrap a thick limb around his midsection, then neatly sliced it in two. The half emerging from the foul water quickly retreated, while the part wrapped around his waist detached itself and fell with a loud splash.

Dante fired a burst into a translucent tentacle and saw it splash back into the water as a pile of bullet-riddled goo. On the other side of the cramped room, Sniping 101 and Marka were at the center of a cluster of RAIDERS, their backs against a wall and emptying their rifles into the creature. Another tentacle burned under precision blaster fire, and the creature shrieked, thrashing its appendages about wildly. Dante caught a scum covered tip in the chest and was thrown back, hitting a wall and landing heavily in an ankle deep pool.

He sprang to his feet, not wanting to be dragged down while caught off balance, but the Dianoga was gone. Several of the other troopers had also realised this, and were now looking warily at the room's clouded depths. Dante left ripples in his wake as he splashed across the room to where the other RAIDERS had gathered.

Dante blinked, suddenly realising that something was off. They were in vaccum, meaning it was impossible for the monster's cries or his splashing to be audiable, but he had quite clearly heard both. He spoke without opening up a com channel.

"Marka, can you hear me?"

"Yeah. I'm not sure how though. Weren't we in a vaccum? For that matter how was that thing"

Marka's distaste was audiable, even through the helmet, as he gestured at the pool of water where the creature was certainly still lurking.

"able to survive? From what I remember, they aren't rated for hard vaccum."

Darr inserted himself into the conversation at this point, his voice thoughtful.

"They aren't. But I don't think we're in a vaccum anymore, not that it matters."

The Sergeant Major straightened slightly, stagnant water dripping off his plastoid armour as he did so, and looked at the other troopers.

"Unless someone brought a jetpack, we're going to have to find another way out of this shithole."

Dante found himself looking down, into the particle filled water. He wasn't sure if what he was considering was brilliant or insane, but anything was better than sitting around and waiting for the dianoga to come back.

That dianoga probably isn't confined to this one room, and there are probably underwater passages between the garbage collectors if it was intentionally introduced. It's completely insane, but worth a try, right?

"There's one way out that we haven't considered yet..."

"Beats the hell out of me, but more of those astromechs are coming and they've brought friends, not really good friends, evil delivery bots!" Jenny replyed, with literal meaning to the delivery bots that usually delivered drinks for the squad, now was throwing it at them along with pieces of pizza, which she'd really like to have, but couldn't in the vaccum of space, and instead returned fire on them with a blaster pistol, still keeping her vibroblade out, destroying them in a blast of electronic parts. These sons of guns can't be what the hell is really attacking us, they don't seem to be in order and have easily revealed themselves, what if the assassin--- But her reflection of the situation in her mind was quickly interrupted by Arnaut's retorts:

"Damn, what the hell is wrong with these Ugors, they like worship droids that we love too, sithspit!" As if response for his angry retort, Arnaut destroyed one of them and threw a grenade at the rest of the astromechs still standing with the squad's fire on them, it blew two of them up and the rest was easily taken care of by the blaster fire of Jenny and the others.

"This is way too easy, I'm getting that bad feeling again about another trap, any one with me on that?" Jenny heard Kand thinking out loud as she nodded and let Doc agree with his serious and officer tone that he was well known for:

"Definitely, Kand, I agree with you on this one, again good on your senses."

The conversation ended there as Jenny detected movement by shadows behind Arnaut, enacting revenge on the spot while Jenny spotted it and quickly went to attack it with a full clip of blaster fire. It seemed to spot her directly as its knives went straight for her, Jenny ducking accordingly. Arnaut had realized the threat and helped Jenny, stabbing the thing in the torso, and the gap between the legs and the torso. Jenny was stabbed in the shoulders, just missing her neck, a bit expecting a last blow as she pulled the blade out and returned the favor, by slashing off the neck. It felt like a rerun to her because Arnaut had done it before, but what the heck, these assassin bots were quite smart in using the distraction of the other droids to attack them, plus they provided the challenge, as Jenny reminded herself.

"Nice job, Jenny, I would've let the droid have his revenge if it wasn't for you." Arnaut thanked her, patching up her wound as the fight before the control room went on.

"Well, be glad I watched that training video too, these droids are quite the nuisance, ahh!" Jenny replyed, couldn't help yelping at the last moment for a blade piece stuck in her muscle tissue, letting some blood run out.

"Lucky that wasn't your blood vessel, keep it up, Jenny, you're doing a great job so far." Arnaut said, making Jenny chuckle at his praise, first time she had heard it, probably because she was more used to Kand's, because they didn't actually show they were praises. Well, what the hell, I earned it, survived a damn beast and an assassin droids, I must be a lucky girl, like my lover always tells me. Jenny thought in response to his thoughts as she turned back to fighting in the battle.

"I'm a pretty good swimmer, just not when comes to swimming through a giant septic tank," said Famus after Dante suggested swimming through underwater passages. Famus looked around and seeing bones in the muck and a the crimsonish-brownish substance smeared across the wall he added on," And by the look of these lovely little blood stains and bones in this mega toilet I don't think I would wanna' go under this water any way."  Sniping101 gave Famus an annoyed look and shot back, " Well, you're not incharge are you, Private. What do you think Darr?" Famus decided that he should shut his mouth and the Snipes and Darr figure it out. The two talked back and forth while Dante, Marka, Kry, and Famus stood alert encase the Daigonas decided to come back for round two. Finally Darr said, " Allright boys we're goin' for a swim. Grab your vibroblades and lets move out." And the next thing he knew the young private was submerged in a dark and green world.

Famus was swimming and was suprised how heavy the armour was when he felt something move across his leg, since he was behind everyone it could only be one thing.

Famus grabbed his vibro-blade swerved around and was suprised to see a dismembered arm floating past him. Whoa that was close. He kept on swimming and then he was pulled back by what was diffenetly a tentacle.

The rest of the RAIDERS whirled around in a paniced Famus looked saw the opening up to the next garbage room and the waved the rest of the squad to go ahead. They were there another second before Famus got on his commlink and shouted, "Get out of here!" The rest of the squad went through and when that had happened Famus grabbed a thermal detenator from his belt and when he was close enough to the mouth of the beast and dropped it in, he quickly cut the tenacle and swam through the opening.

When he got through he felt the walls shake and he breathed a sigh of relief.

Liam didn’t wait three minutes before the rest of the squad made it to his level. He quickly sheathed his pistol and turned to talk to his squad leader. “Sarge,” he said, “I don’t think we should wait around. Whatever attacked me probably has friends.”

Gio took a look around and nodded. “I agree with you. Let’s get off this floor.” With those words, the rest of the squad jumped into action. They didn’t like the situation any more than Liam himself did, and it showed. All the rest of Iron Horse wanted to do was get to the generator and get the hell out.

They set three rigs. Liam, Ken, and Brock would go down first, then Gio, Fay, and Anival would follow. When the three rigs were set Liam attached the cable to his utility belt and inched himself to the edge next to Ken and Brock. With a nod from Gio and a glance at each other, the three pushed off down the shaft. They hadn’t gone twenty feet when they reached something solid at the bottom.

Before unhooking the cable from his belt Liam made sure to test his footing. He kicked and stomped around, making sure nothing was going to collapse under his feet. Satisfied that everything was solid, he unhooked the cable from his belt and took a few tentative steps forward while Ken and Brock waited, their on cables still attached.

At first, Hayes couldn’t tell what he was standing on. There were no doors on the surrounding walls, and Hayes couldn’t see any type of hatch or opening that the squad could move through. It was so dark where he was that even with his night vision filters Liam could barely see. He paced around, trying to figure out what to do.

Eventually Gio radioed the three troopers. “Come on gents, what’s the hold up?” he asked.

“Uh…” Liam began to answer, but then he figured it out. “Nothing, come on down,” he said. “Do we have some kind of cutting device?”

There was a moment’s silence. “Aye, I have a small fusion cutter,” Gio responded.

“Roger that…better make sure to bring it along. We’re gonna need it,” Liam told his squad leader.

There was a grunt that Liam took as an affirmative, and then three shadows appeared on the wall twenty feet above them. As Ken, Brock, and Liam watched, the shadows grew steadily larger until there were six bodies standing on what Liam now recognized as the top of a turbolift car.

Looking around, Anival seemed to realize the problem. “Where’s the way out?” he asked nervously.

Ken chose to answer, his voice dry. “You’re standing on it,” he said.

With that Gio drew a small device that looked in some ways like a gun and in others not at all. Kneeling on the metal ‘floor’, he flipped a switch and looked around at the squad. “Get ready,” he said.

With that he depressed the trigger on the device and the tip began to shine brilliantly with pure energy. Lowering the device to the top of the turbolift car, he began to cut a hole into the car.

It was slow going. The fusion cutter was small, and the roof of the lift was incredibly thick. Still, the intense heat created by the cutter literally melted through the lift’s roof, and in a few short moments there was a hole three foot by three foot. With a glance at the rest of the squad, Liam moved to the edge and dropped through.

When the rest of the squad had made it down into the elevator car, Liam led the way. Surprisingly the door was open on the lift, which made things extremely easy. The six stormtroopers continued moving down the hall, encountering no opposition and eventually coming to a large door marked with the word “Power” in Galactic Basic.

Ken laughed. “Leave it to the Empire to be utterly obvious,” he said, a smile in his voice.

Liam had to agree, but he wasn’t in the mood to say anything. His bad feeling had returned, and right at that moment he was too preoccupied for small talk. Waiting for the go-ahead from Gio, he pushed open the door and stepped inside.

The generator was right in front of him. He swept his weapon around the room, but found no hostile threats. He gave the all-clear and the rest of the squad filed in. Ken and Gio moved over to the generator and gave it a look, trying to figure out how to reactivate it. After four or five minutes of looking, neither one of them had any ideas on how to get the thing going again.

It was Fay that had the winning solution. Sighing she got up, walked over to where Ken was standing, and patted him on the back. Then she reached by him and flipped a switch.

With a deep, throaty hum, the generator began to run. Soon it was turning over at full speed, and the noise was deafening. “Let’s get out of here!” Gio said. The squad filed back into the lift, which to their surprise was working just fine. Gio hit a button and the turbolift began moving up.

Liam glanced up through the whole in the ceiling. It was disconcerting, but he didn’t let it bother him for long. Much more worrisome was the itch that was running down his spine. Something bad was going to happen, Liam just knew it.

Since we're sorta getting close to the end of the week (looks like we might end Sat or Sun, still undecided) I breezed through some parts.  If it bothers you, fill whatever it is in within your own post

As soon as the generator was running, Riqimo was powering up the room.  It took him about ten minutes to locate something of interest...

“Holy...” Riqimo gasped for breath as he speed read through the console.

“Doc?”

“Guys... we're on... a fragment of the original Death Star...” Riqimo broadcasted to all the squads over the comm.

Silence was his only response until Spilfer came on, “That Quest Object!”

Riqimo stopped scrolling through the files immediately, “Where?”

“Large energy reading!  Quest Object you bet!” Riqimo could imagine the Squib dancing on the ship as they had at least located the thing.

“Alright, all squads, this is Doc,” Riq flicked his comm to open frequency, “We've pinpointed the location of our Object. We're all regrouping at the shuttle, replenish our air, then heading down to whatever is pulling huge amounts of power to run.”

Gio and Snipes gave their confirmations and Arn simply nodded as Riq was right in front of him.

Back on the ship, Riq almost burst out laughing as Spilfer had found a zero-g suit that would at least fit him decently.  It certainly didn't have any protection from blasters and the like, but it at least protected the Squib from the lack of air and pressure.

“Ready to head out?” Riqimo lifted his rifle up and glanced about the cargo bay.  Everyone did likewise, and even Spilfer pulled out his tin-plated blaster which looked more like a toy than a weapon, causing Riq to chuckle slightly under his helmet.

It was going to take maybe an hour for them to make it to the chamber that housed whatever the object was, probably longer, given the need to open a few stuck doors, some random droid encounters, and whatnot.

This post was typed yesterday afternnon. Due to a ridiculously improbable series of events, the most noteworthy of which was the Sichuan school I was typing it from suddenly losing acces until 5 minutes ago, I was unable to put this up even though it was complete yesterday. I tried to get it up, but the internet was unavailible until now. I apologise for any incovenience caused by this.

Dante was near the middle of the hanger bay when he heard that they were going back in. He stood up, as did the other troopers, but his mind was still on the revelation Doc had shared earlier. They were on the Death Star. The kriffing Death Star. He'd been in carbonite when it was destroyed, but the holofilms had been splashed over the HoloNet so many times it was hard to find someone who didn't know what it was. In many ways, it had been both the Empire's finest hour and the beginning of it's downfall. And the squads had been blithely strolling through it for the past hour.

"Come on!" Darr yelled, shaking Dante from his reverie. Grabbing one of several clips he'd retrieved from the shuttle's weapons rack, he shoved it into his MA5B's rear. The built-in computer beeped quietly, and both the rifle and Dante's HUD's ammunition count flickered from 00 to 60. The other RAIDERS were making similar preparations; Famus was running one gloved finger along the jagged edge of his combat knife and Marka was running a last minute check on his A-280. Lieutenant Riqimo gave the order to move out, and the squads passed one by one through the airlock. Dante was somewhat apprehensive, considering what had happened the last time they’d passed through those doors, but there were no droids lying in wait this time.

Other than the presence of machine parts and discarded blasters, the scene was completely unchanged. Looking at the fragments of armour on the ground, Dante wondered what their owners’ last moments must have been like. The sudden disorientation and loss of air; the confusion and bewilderment, and finally a prolonged death by either radiation or eventual suffocation. He shivered slightly, the movement almost unnoticeable through the bulky zero-G armour. It seemed to take hours for the squads to retrace their way through the wreck?but a quick glance at his chronometer confirmed that it had only been a few minutes. The Doc led the group through the labyrinth-like corridors, consulting a datapad as he went and turning to the diminutive alien at his side for confirmation.

Dante wasn’t sure why they were working with the vermin, or even trusting it, but he knew better than to raise the question. The higher-ups had decided, they thought they were the Force-incarnate, and there was no way a lowly trooper was going to convince them otherwise. Still, he had to repress the urge to silence the little creature as it bounced forwards, squealing ear-splittingly loudly over the team com as it did so.

“So we’re looking for a generator?”

“Yes, yes. Quest object there, I help find.” the creature burbled in barely-understandable Standard. Apparently satisfied with this answer, Riqimo nodded.

The corridor came to an abrupt halt, and a large half cylinder projected out of the wall. At the group’s approach a pair of doors mounted into the cylinder slid to one side, revealing a seemingly-bottomless drop between themselves and a blank wall.

“An elevator shaft…” a trooper directly ahead of Dante murmured.

“Yes, yes. We need go up.”

“You three, use your weapons’ grapple attachments.”

The three indicated troopers did so.

“Fire.”

Three claw-tipped lines shot straight up and embedded themselves in the shaft.

“And now, we climb.”

Oh come on Dante. Don't put in placeholders.

This was the Death Star. The Death Star. Arnaut had heard lots of rumors and stories about large pieces surviving the destruction of the Empire’s superweapon, including the main gun battery, but to actually be on a part of it...that was something else entirely. Like walking amidst history itself.

The whole atmosphere of the corridors seemed to change with the information. They were no longer just trekking through the random hallways of a long-dead star destroyer, no, they were travelling through the halls of the greatest, most terrible and sublime weapon ever imagined and created, the epitome of Imperial engineering. Arnaut walked with pride, back straight, and damn the pain in his nose. He was on the Death Star.

The droids, too, seemed different. No longer were they minor annoyances. No, now, they were cluttering and infesting a gleaming pillar of technological brilliance, a milestone in Imperial history! The droids were defiling something so...monumental! Grand! It seemed so wrong.

Lucky for the droids, none of them crossed Arnaut’s path on the way into the Death Star. At least, that’s what he told himself. Knife in one hand, A-280 in the other, he was looking for something to kill. Something about knowing that this was the Death Star just made Arnaut want...to kill things, which was an odd feeling, since he really hadn’t killed anything the entire mission so far. Just destroyed and whatnot.

Was something wrong with him? He certainly hadn’t been experiencing these violent emotions an hour ago. He pulse elevated ever so slightly and his face became flush. He felt his hands tightening around the grip of his knife and gun, felt the urge to just lash out at something, anything!

He shook off the thoughts. No, he was fine. Just a bit trigger happy, and overwhelmed by Doc’s news, that was all. That was definitely all. But, deep down inside, Arnaut knew it wasn’t. He knew it wasn’t okay silently run through every kill he’d ever made with his blade, savoring the details, the visceral death. He knew it wasn’t okay to idly wonder the best way to sever Koll’s arm at the elbow with just a combat knife. He knew something wasn’t okay with him.

He thought back. He had been feeling like this for a while, he realized. It had been masked by the fear of the assassin droid, though, his. Now that it was dead, all the feelings were rising up to the surface. Dark bubbles, swarming up, hateful, oh so hateful engulfing him forever and...

“Arnaut, you okay? You’re...twitching. And you stopped.” Arnaut glanced over at Kand, his eyes malicious. Kand couldn’t see them, though, hidden as they were beneath Arnaut’s helmet.

“Yeah, fine. Just...just fine,” Arnaut said calmly. His grip tightened around his knife a little more.

“You sure? I mean, you’re the squad leader. We can’t have anything wrong with you.”

“I’m fine!” Arnaut snapped.  Kanderin pulled back a little and then just shrugged.

“Okay...” He shrugged again and then turned back toward the front of the squad. Arnaut watched him go.

Was he okay? Was he okay? What kind of question was that? Of course he was okay! He felt fine! Why, if Kand wasn’t his Assistant, he’d...what? Kill him? That seemed absurd, even to Arnaut. He wasn’t okay. He wasn’t okay. He...what was he thinking about again?

He shook his head. He should get going. There were still plenty of droids to kill and maim. He savored the thought of the battles to come. With a shake of his shoulders, he jogged off with the squad. At his waist, Vader’s helmet almost seemed to smile.
