Personally, I'm sorry you feel that way. I try not to lord my power over people - I really don't. I know sometimes it doesn't come off that way.  My metaphor on Merrick's post wasn't very good, I'll admit. I blame it on sleep deprevation.

My point was basicly this: People will be mad at you if you're mean to them - because they're people.

Those of us that are in command positions are people too. If someone were to come to you, bitch you out and offer nothing constructive at all, you'd be angry too. I feel I can be incredibly reasonable, and I think a lot of the people I've worked with over the years would agree with me there.

I know a lot of us seem unapprochable and to a degree thats unavoidable. I know a great deal of people haven't even tried talking to me. I'd like to think that those that have have been pleasently surprised.

I hate to see an active member go. Smooth sailing, and don't be a stranger.

I don't really know you, either, but I'm sorry you feel the need to leave the VE. Maybe, in time, you can come back.

I love how people quit in a huff because they don't have the intelligence to know what and what not to joke about. They flame people indirectly, but still come and read their topic in the hopes someone says a kind word or two to make them feel better.

Again Kanderin,  I am obligated to stay until Aeos gets back, so i have to check the new posts frequently as I still have work to do.  Can't leave yet, in other words.  So what keeps happening is people keep egging it on, and I am here doing other work, so I keep responding to what I feel are rude comments.

Believe me, I wish that I were not here right now.  I have better things to do than read more of this kind of insulting carrying on, whether it shows or not.  I am perfectly willing to drop the issue.  After all, I withdrew from the rest of my duties in the corpse and the VE Today.  But I made a promise, and that actually means something to me. 

As soon as Aeos gets back, I will be gone, and until then, if everyone just ignores me and lets me do my work, they won't hear from me.  Thanks for posting though.  It is a good point.  Just wish it were feasible.

Usually when people plan on being around for a while before leaving, they don't announce that they're resigning and cause problems the rest of the time they're here.

Honestly, I'm not trying to invoke your anger yet again, but it does seem very childish and vindictive that you're sticking around when you've obviously expressed your utter hatred for the people in command of this club. And sticking around under those same people after you've announced that you're leaving just doesn't make sense unless you're planning on causing problems.

If you're forced to stick around due to work that you're doing for one of the people you actually do like, then announce your resignation after your work is done. Otherwise it just looks worse for you.

Rizzit:  You are in the other thing.  Sorry if I left you out of this one.

Den:  You have a good point, but it was a question that was under debate at the time, so I said it then.  I am actually now only under one person, Cosmic. 

Kanderin:  I wasn't trying to offend you, but I saw where you posted on the other topic, and I did mention somewhere in all of that that I was fulfiiling an obligation to Cosmic.  I did not directly say anything about Aeos, but again it was mentioned earlier in this topic that I was waiting on Cos.  That is why I felt that I had already said that I had to stay.  Sorry if it sounded bad, I wasn't trying to talk down to you.

Everyone:

Just for the record.  I am done with this.  I said what I felt like I had to say, even if noone liked the way that I said it.  Judging from the way that I feel that people talk to others around here, I don't see where I did anything different to the people that I was talking to than they do to others.  It may not be the best way, but I felt that it was alright to do, because the precedence was already set by them.

Sure, I said some things that you all probably don't agree with.  Sure, I was a bit unfair to people who are genuinely making mistakes.

What I said is the way I actually feel.  I feel that the behavior has gotten so ingrained that it is no longer a set of mistakes, rather it is a set of ingrained behaviors that have gone past the point of not being intentional.

Is it fair to everyone?  Of course not, but I wasn't talking to everyone either.  I simply want people to take more care in the way that they treat people.  I don't have a messiah complex, but I do have principles. 

I talk to people in the manner that I have, the one that everyone thinks is pompous and self righteous, because I don't personally believe that the people I am addressing understand what it feels like.  Is it hypocritical for me to do the very thing that I am complaining about?  Sure, I guess.

Believe it or not, I do care about VE, a lot.  I have wanted to leave this place that I love several times now, and every time has been because of the way someone has decided to treat me.  It has nothing to do with a punishment, or a rank that I never got.  Those things come with time and effort.  I just can't stand for someone to treat others as if they are better than them.  We are all human, just like they said, and yes there are ranks, but that does not mean that we are not all equal, it just means that some of us are in charge of making sure that the others stay on path. 

I guess that is what I was trying to say, and the reason I said it the way I did was because that is how I felt it was being said to me.  I apologize if you got offended by what I said, but I truly hope that you will consider what I was trying to say, and decide if it has a place here.

Can we seriously just drop it?!?!? This constant bickering isn't going to do us or this club any good.

So how about we just suck it up, and stop arguing.

Mako, please do me a favor and just forget everything everyone is saying, and don't reply to the statements Kanderin and Otto made.

Kandy, Otto, sorry if you guys took what he said in a bad manner. I'm not trying to order anyone around or anything, and I have no right to, but I'm asking this as a friend.
