Not to scare anyone, but we gotta pull it together. As a BlackJack I helped refine precision-posting in the last two story Competitions. Completing Objectives in exactly 10 posts to reap maximum effect and mission bonuses. Yes, I'm a little intimidated now that i must face them in Competition.
But we can do this. Everyone who has posted so far have done well. Now we need to tighten it up. Just as BlackJack achieved new levels of unit cohesion, so shall Iron Horse. It will take planning, effort and most importantly teamwork.
With strategy & coordination of our posts we can have the synergy we need to win this. Iron Horse, are you with me?

Alright this is something that I've been noticing and it isn't really good. I have noticed a number of obsenities creeping into posts. Yes, I do know that they have been only used once during a post, but on occasion more than once and I have used them myself.
Personally, I feel that if you are resorting to such language then you should work on your vocabulary. I know that there isn't a rule explicitly stating that cursing in a story is prohibited, but we do try to keep things around here PG-13 (ish). If you are unsure of what is allowed or not allowed, I can only say use your best judgement. Think to any novels you have read. During heated situations did the author use cursing to get the point across even from a character? I would say that you would be rather surprised to find out that professionals find other ways of describing frustration, anger, and like feelings other than tossing in a four-letter-word. Not to say that they don't ever use them.
I am only bringing this to the forefront now to hopefully nip it in the bud and prevent it from getting out of hand. I am not pointing fingers nor am I expecting to have punishments handed out. I am simply just bringing awareness of the issue and request that for future posts that everyone keep all this in mind. Sam I have to agree with you, and to further elaborate on this [Not that I've probably let myself slip no doubt] I'd like to point out that there are other more subtle, older words and phrases that wold aesthetically work more compliantly with a post.
For example instead of feck [with a different vowel] you could say 'Pound Sand' and ICly, it'd work i.e. Tattooine.
Shet = Sith-Spit, Bantha Fodder
Son of a Beach = Sonnova
Etc.
Technically traditional swear words are non-canon since mostly earths history doesn't exist in SW, hell earth doesn't exist.
But yeah, this is a PG board and I see no problem with watching the language. I could see a swear or two slipping on occasion such as when the character is shocked by an ambush, punched in the face, though only because the character probably would say that just like I would if I dropped a cinderblock on my foot.

I am working on a post; #8 for Objective 2. I'll get us to the shield generators and get a good fight going. Leon's 2nd post for Ob#2 makes 7 so far.
Saph, decide if you want to end this in 10, 12 or 13 posts. Give us our marching orders here or in PM if you want them more secure. As per the scoring guidelines Angel explains in the Rules thread, my two cents is 10-12 posts per objective.
Arok, great enthousiasm so far, but we need more substance & grit. If you need to throw in a long, drag-out fight then do so. If you are only comfortable ading a few sentences, that is fine. Every bit helps

Oh and sorry for me not posting guys. I spent all day today in the ER due to my back issues again. I could hardly walk this morning and the pain is only slightly better tonight. Hopefully after tonight it will ease off. I see my regular doc on the week of the 15th and I'll be given my spine shot and be good again for a while.
