I took the skulls from Cosmic's imperial logo's and used them... I honestly like the STC's better.
Not much you can do on officers though, we have that pretty much set in stone. But I could etch a little extra in.
And yes, I did add more stripes than the marines and army use. That was hard.

That could come in handy, but I'm just wondering what the difference between the Stormtrooper corps and the Vast Empire Army is? They are one in the same as far as I know. -----------------------

Actually, I think it is more like the relationship of the Army and Marines. The Stormtrooper Corps is much smaller than the imperial army. But in the movies, you are focusing on events of greater importance that required the elite skills of the STC. -----------------------

The Vast Empire has one Army and one Navy.
Vast Empire Stormtrooper Corps (Army - VEA)
Vast Empire Imperial Navy (Navy - VEN)
We do not have an "Army" and a "Marines" section. The closest thing we have to dividing the Army would be the two Platoons and the Advanced Recon Commandos.
As far as the pics go - it's a good start and a nice design. We've been trying to come up with something like this for some time now, but never got around to doing it. I'm pretty sure there would have to be a consensus on what "insignia" would be on the ranks, however. It'd probably be the Vast Empire insignia (may or may not. Depends on what the AHC/HC make out of it).
As far as officer ranks go, those are already implemented by the use of Rank Cylinders: Rank Cylinders
It's just a matter of getting them on the roster - visually. -----------------------

If I'm not mistaken the VEA is split into two sections: The 'Regular' Army and The Stormtrooper Corps.
For story purposes Regulars are all NPCs, expendable NPCs. They run around in grey and do all the little things, such as man garrisons, guard low level officials, low priority transports and such matters.
The Stormtrooper Corps is the elite (or in theory anyway), equipped with the best armor and weapons available they take on the higher priority tasks and in the battlefield tend to be deployed where the fighting is the thickest and messiest, or conversely, where a small hole in the enemies lines is.
Of course for all the really scary stuff there's the Storm Commandos.
Or at least I think that's how all that works. If not blame the vicodin, not me, I'm all sorts of loopy. -----------------------

What I was getting at is what the point of having the rank images for NPC characters? We all know they are there and have ranks, but I just don't see the images being used for anything. -----------------------

my suggestion for the rank design is to use the original ranks provided by casca, then make them smaller by putting them into a rectangle like medal, so it looks like something from the USA medals worn on the left side of the chest of the uniform. While that is done. The backround color can be filled with grey for enlisted, or whichever color is prefered. Maybe blue for navy, and red for army and gold for high command.  -----------------------
