For now, I'm leaving taht up to Alan seeing as I'm here but not really here at the same time. You guy can do a short squad story or you can start/continue working on Specs, haven't seen one of those in awhile. I'll be on for a bit tomorrow, more so on the Thursday but that's still not for long each day.
Hope everyone's week is going okay, i injured mysrelf lsightlky in my sleep 2 night ago but I'm ijn little pain today. Big improvement from yesterday, could barely walk yesterday.
Don't forget to send in your reports on Thursday to myself and Alan. |

Guys, before I leave my comp for the day, Doc has been nice enought o make us some Avis, what say we use them during the Competition so we know who's in what squad without looking at the sigs.
I've received one report so far, don't forget to send it to alan as well. Hope to get atleat 2 more reports by tomorrow. Would be great if everyone sent in a report though.

In regards to the upcoming quick write competition, here's some more info:
Each squad's objectives are set already, along with a brief plot summary on the storyboard. It's important that you link the avatar for your squad in each of your posts or they won't be counted.
General idea is this: 48 hours of post-as-much-as-you-can writing over the weekend. It would be best if you could get on IRC and into your squad topic to co-ordinate posts.

Storm Status Check.
Effective immediately. All squad members (save those legitimately on leave) must report this week, or risk being AWOL'ed. Additionally, all squad members must post on their squad topics stating their current status. If you require leave, note why, and take leave. If you're active, you will be expected to participate fully from now on or risk subsequent fines or an eventual AWOL. If you are buried in RL, and will be away for an extended period of time, request a transfer to reserves so you can return at a later stage. You're either here or you're not from here on in people.
Those who fail to comply to both requests will be AWOL'ed at the end of the week, no excuses. I think a week is plenty of time to make two posts. This is all being carried out in conjunction with Wildcard Platoon in an army wide clean up.

Guys, seeing as the QW is mainly on weekends, I'm going to do some major brainstorming tonight and will post a story tomorrow. it'll deviate slightly from our squad specialty, something to please everyone. Who's up for it?
i'd also like to see a Spec from each one of you who are active by the end of this month. The activity around here is slow and i'd like that to change. |

hmmm...things are getting pretty serious here.
well, for me my current status is living with seven people, and as i am only 15 and still live under my moms roof, i can get grounded, and may not be able post a leave, so there may be times when i will drop out of a story for a day or two. But whenever i do get on the computer, my top priority is VE. I will always try to drop in, and although i may not have enough time on the computer to post on a story, i may put up a post on the squad topic. (Also, my mom knows about my VEing and supports me, and will let me post every thursday to report (and sometimes post on the story), 95% of the time.) But other than that, i always do try my best to keep up with the current story.

Im up for a new story.. Cause I can post twice at least a week. Once hubby leaves I'll be on alot more.. So no worries there. I just need motivation as in for writing. If I have no one to interact with in story it's hard for me to write. As far as a spec story.. I don't do those. Last I head when I first joined VE it wasn't recuried to have them.. I attempted one once and it was extreamly bad.. So Im not going to attempt another. Im happy with my character as is.
LuckyStar.. just point me in to the thread ya wanna start. I think Character development would help so I get to know the charcters better. That will make it easier to do the writing with missions. As far as the weekend QW.. That's up in the air till hubby leaves for the sandbox.
So Kami.. jez... cool ya jets  I have been on and off due to crapin RL.. in and out.. and the hurricanes didn't help this year. I'm also a mom and I don't have time to get on all the time. As said.. If I may offer my two cents? I believe Kami just asked of everyone to post the situation. Those who were "legitimately on leave" did not have to. This is not directed at the two of you, but my guess is she was targeting people (in Storm) who just idle on IRC and do not post or any other form of activity. I cannot be certain, but that is my guess as to what her goal was. At any rate, I do not feel you should have taken offense to it.
Now Saph, regarding the specialty stories: you are correct. That is how it was during the Rizzit era as people are tending to call it now. This is now the Doc era...so you may want to check in with him and his administration about any changes. I would assume in that respect he would not change it though. After all, specialties are nothing more than "something to do when there is nothing to do".

Rizzit is correct in his assessment. We're not making personal attacks on anyone, we just want to know who is *really* active, and who is taking up spots. If you're on leave, that's perfectly acceptable, seeing as how that's the definition of *leave* and why we have a Leave Net. We don't need every detail, we just want to know your status.
(Char Name): Active / Semi Active / On Leave / Need Leave / Need Reserves would suffice.
It's not like we're asking the world of you here people, just a little help in getting the Army into shape. Two posts (not even STORY posts) is entirely reasonable and fair. We know you are busy in RL, and of course RL takes precedent, but if you're here, be here. If you aren't, then make way for someone who will be until such a date that you can be.
