I read the book just before it came out in cinemas & I'm reading the second book now. What did you guys think of the movie/book? -----------------------

Ive read both books and I own Eldest in spanish. Strange since I don't know enough spanish to be comfortable reading a book that length in the language.
As for the book, it was okay. Though exciting at some parts, it seemed to rip off parts from other fantasies. It's way too overdone and cliche. The fact that a fantasy loving teen wrote this shows in the writing of the book.
The movie? I haven't seen it but it looked pretty gory from the commercials. I can't comment on it i guess but I have to say, Safira looks ugly on the poster. -----------------------

I loved the book's but havent seen the movie yet. What Tnepres said is true but after a while I was too in to the book's so I didn't really notice.

The movie sucked. To the max.
Can't believe they played some Avril Lavinge song to end off the movies with the credits. -----------------------

I haven't read the books or the film, and never plan on doing so.
What Tnepres said is correct, if i told by eight year old brother to write a fantasy story, he would come up with the same idea. Ie- Steal all the best ideas from other books. Although the authors writing is pretty good, i cant see the point in reading a story where all the best parts have already been done before, and far better at that. -----------------------

I love love love the book! I can't wait for the third one to come out...In the mean time i need to read Eldest again.
As for the movie?
MAY IT BURN IN HELL!
*coughs* 'cuse me....I just didn't like the movie. And as for the Avril Lavinge song at the end, that was the only part of the movie that i particularly liked. The movie screwed the book over. I hate the stupid people who made that movie. They took out all the good parts that separate Eragon from being cliche. And i'm going to stop now because i could ramble on and on about books. -----------------------

There were things about the movie i liked but they had lots of missing pieces to the puzzle that follow on into the second book (and maybe movie).
Like the Urgals. They are ment to resemble human form and they are ment to have horns - in other words a monster. In the movie they just look like a different tribe of celts. -----------------------

I figured the Urgals would look like weird Orcs. They toke to much out of the movie I mean he knew how to sword fight *snap* just like that. Also the whole thing with healing Saphira wtf that never happened in the book and he would have died trying to heal that kind of wound.
THEY NEVER KILLED THE Raz'zac I just get irritated thinking about the movie. -----------------------

Yeah the urgals did look kinda cool but what about the krocs? Kags? (i forget how to spell that) They were big things that had horns! I don't think they were really supposed to look like people. And the whole thing where Saphira grows in two seconds? What's up with that? he had her for months before she got that big! And they could communicate since the beginning and dragons just don't 'come' with names.

The reason they block out stuff is because of time. Movies are only allowed to be up to like what now? 2 & a half to 3 hours?
They are called Kull.
I'd rather see a 4-5hr accurate Eragon rather than what they put up there.

yeah!! Kull! ...Wow i should have remembered that.
I think i would prefer a 5 hour movie compaired to the, what? hour and a half? film that they slopped together. I remember watching Paolini getting interviewed and when we was asked about it he never said at all he liked it. Just that it was both 'strange and amazing' to see his story up on the screen. If i were him i would probably cry if i saw what they had. But that's just me. -----------------------

Exact reason why if I wrote a book, I would never let it be made into a movie. Well, unless I didn't really like the book and they offered me big money. But really, when I write, I picture everything in my head in huge detail. A movie would just ruin that... There will always be some parts that dont go with your original thoughts and then youd feel really mad that they messed up a part of your story.
They should stop the Eragon movie thing and scrap any ideas for a movie for Eldest. -----------------------

Yeah that would probably be a good idea. But considering the ending was a HUGE opening for eldest, and movie people always want more money, so they'll probably do it anyway. -----------------------

The movie was complete utter garbage. The worst movie I have ever seen and always will be. Its worse then stomp the yard.
The book is really good though, even though some stuff is based off of other books. But if you guys really wanna read a good book series read Pendragon. Its the best book series I have ever read. Thats just my opinion though.

Eragon was sorta boring for me, but what do you gys think?
I just finished reading Eldest right as I'm typing now, and it was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring!!! I mean, the ending was alright but it was soo boring I even skipped chapters. -----------------------

To me Eragon wasn't all that boring. And as for Eldest, I don't remember enough to tell you whether i thought it was boring or not. I read it like, what, two years ago when it first came out? Both books i thought were particularly good. Or else i don't think i would've been so pissed when i saw the movie. -----------------------

How about the game? Rip off of LOTR much? I could tell just by the commercials that it would follow the same relative style of fighting LOTR did.
I shun you, author of Eragon. Your complete incompetence in writing something original lead you to make a compiliation of all the exciting parts in a fantasy book and alter them so slightly as to brand them as your own. While genius and no doubtedly making you millions let you feel the extruciating guilt on your deathbed in tricking the innocent kids who love your book so much.
