I can up with a great idea that I hope I can sell here.  The board game Diplomacy is an enormous entertaining game that is played with 7 people.  It can be played in person or over the internet as long as everyone is on.  Interaction and negotiation are the name of the game and while time consuming it is both intense and fun.  I thought if enough people were interested we could organize a weekly diplomacy night to play.

That is the 4th edition rule manual for the game.  I have found an adjudication programme that I will use to run the game with me sending out the file to everyone after each session's orders are complete.  Once we get enough people I will lay out some house rules to make it easier to play online.

In order to run it you can kick and drag but preferably use it to work out strategies and practice writing orders in the correct format.  For example, I'll give you a sample list of first turn orders (I'll just use very simple strategies simply so you see the mechanics).  I will point out that the mechanics are secondary, being able to move skillfully only works if you are an equally skillful negotiator and diplomat.  The negotiations sessions are where the game is played, the board simply demonstrates the results as you head towards victory.

Shall we plan our first night for next Friday then say at 8pm est?  It would be a tutorial night.

Also, for our first night, we need to figure out who will play as who.  All who are interested pick a number between 1 and 6 (obvious as people post numbers will be eliminated).  I say 6 because I will take either Austria or Italy (the two hardest nations to play as) in the tutorial.  Therefore, 5 of the numbers will be tied to a nation and the 6th to a choice between Austria and Italy.
