The Imperial Image Gallery (IIG) is now available for public use. This will allow you to store images on the server categorized by albums. Once you upload your images, you'll be able to reference them indefinitely or until you delete them.
The IIG is only available when you are posting new messages and is located right next to the text box for your message.
In order to get started, you'll first need to create an album to store your images. Then you will be allowed to upload an image to that album. You can create a maximum of 100 albums in your account. Right now, there is no limit on the number of images you can upload, but that may need to be added later.
The max size of an image you can upload is 2mbs. Your images will be resized to fit onto the ComNet so it doesn't mess up other member's browser windows.
Once you have your images uploaded, you can view your images and then select which ones you want to include in your ComNet post. All you need to do, is select the image after clicking on the thumbnail and copy (ctrl-c) and then paste (ctrl-v) into your ComNet post.
There is now a new image ComNet BB tag supported for your message posts; which you will see when you try to paste the image code into your post from the IIG.
Right now, the only supported image formats are JPG and PNG. The IIG does not support GIF images yet as the Java packages I am using to resize the images does not support the GIF format yet. This is mainly because GIF images can be animated and is harder to change those formats.
