I just thought I'd say this since we are working on the main mission. Even though we don't know this is a probe force at first doesn't mean it is going to contain a ton of people. If you make this assessment wave that the Repbulic is sending super heavy, how big is the main force going to have to be? Also, as a token of advice, I would try to keep the numbers of troopers on both sides in actual numerical words. So instead of saying Enourmous or Large, try company= 72 troopers, platoon= 36 troopers, Squad, 9 troopers and so forth. It makes it easier for everyone else to go along and keeps things cleaner. Also, if your thinking, "Well, Raziel said the probe is going to continue until he says it ends," all I'm saying by not making the probe huge is to extend the battles out. Make the waves come periodically containing increasing units each time or with different variables of speeders and infantry. That is how a probe would work. To see what works the best and what area to attack. Keep up the good work. And all of this is just helpful tips and such, I'm not saying you have to do it this way, especially since I'm not your squad leader.  Sorry to intrude on your topic Darr. -----------------------

Alrighty boys, good to be back in the army. Most of you probably know me as Squalleh, a.k.a. Jaden in the navy.
When i joined the army, the first squad I was with was Raiders. We were the best squad at the time I think, or in some sort of dispute with DD. Hopefully nothing like that sturs up again.
I'm here to be your Fire Team Captain, to encourage you boys to stay around and get things done. Remember, you can now send your reports to me as well as Darr if something goes wrong, and that can be sent to [email protected]. Remember, get those in by saturday, atleast thats what Darr told me.
I've been around in the army for a while, since nearly '02, so if you have any questions, be sure to direct them to me. Also, I know lots of info about Imperial Army. Thurough info. If you need to know any information about equipment, exercises, blah, I don't give a shit, just ask me some questions so I look like I'm doing something.
Good activity so far as I can see. Lots better than a few other squads around the place. I'll be sure to get a post in on the story today or another day this week, I'm on OSS (Out of School Suspension) indefinently until Thursday. Don't ask.

a question on probing though, isnt the whole point of a probe to attack on multiple fronts with a minimum of casualties while gathering intel on the enemy which will therefore lead to a massive assault on the designated weaknesses? -----------------------

Ok people. I am back... at least for the time being. I am glad to see activity has increased again after that slight ditch we fell into. There are still a couple more things I have to take care of out here in the real world, but I will try and get some solid work done as soon as I can manage it. If you don't already know, I am the ASL of Raiders. I started in this squad and have never been in another, so it is warming to see the way our squad carried on, even when things looked their worst.

Okay, I was about to post something about being lost in the story, so I went and re-read the last few posts and now I'm REALLY lost. Montellian Serat was listed as in Imperial hands but being attacked by the NR. We went from assaults by the NR and trench warfare, to suddenly having and NR base in the city, and now a full-on encampment. WTF is going on??? |

Don't worry about it Tallanvor, I'm as confused as you are. Well, you got the first part correct, about the trench warfare. They are probing us for now, not assulting exactly. We recieved a transmission that the rebels have camtured the base inside the city (only a few squads are there). We made our way back to the city and meet up with Jester Squad. We are now just outside the rebel encampment, and are about to make a move. By encampment, I meant a base, not what you are thinking. -----------------------

Hey Aphamos, you kinda need to edit your post a little so it makes sense with mine. I meant to catch you IRC earlier but missed you. Anyways, the base isn't in the city. It is on the outside of the wall surroundign the city first off. Second, it is smack dab in the middle of the Western and Eastern trenches. It is what protects the center. Also, it is't just some tents. If you read Squall's post and mine, you should have seen that there was a wall around with the auto-turrets resting on that wall. Now, maybe the encampment in your post is a second one that the three squads that entered the city made. We can just go with that from here on, so you don't have to edit.
In other words, for everyone else, the NR attacked our main base with five squads. Someone on our side let them in and they took that base without losing a single man. Then, two squads stayed in the base to secure it, while three others entered the city. Those three squads made a small encampment in the city for their own use, which is the one we are at now. Once we take care of that encampment, we will then have to take care of the middle base, which is outside the city. Also, from Squall's post, we can assume that we took out one of the squads that was in the city. So, we have to take out the encampment and clear out the two squads in the city, and then capture the overrun base, which is outside the city wall and in between the Eastern and Western fronts. Also, we have until the end of tonight basically to do this, or we get docked points for going over the time limit. I can basically do all of the above stuff in one post, I'm used to writing very long stuff when things like this happens, if no one posts by about 8 tonight. I hope I made everything clear and didn't confuse you more... Sorry to butt in here again Darr. -----------------------

Well, thanks for posting the finishing one for me Darr. I had written a long one last night, but had to suddenly get off because of T-storm, meaning the power went out.
