Hey everyone, I'm your new squad leader Sgt Ron.  I've met most of you already on IRC, so I'll cut short the introductions and move onto some business.

First off, a new squad story.  We're going to Dxun, a jungle moon that orbits and shares an atmosphere with its mother planet, Onderon.  In a nutshell, our mission is to secure and help to start a mining colony on its surface in order to extract its rich supply of diamonds from underneath the surface.  Along the way you will have to battle wild animals, barbarian tribes, mercenaries, and crazed scientists from Onderon who haven't been eaten yet. 

You can keep whatever you find

Now this might not sound like a "Unconventional Warfare" topic, however I feel that the squad could use a vacation from the norm, and you all could definitely use the colorful atmosphere of this mission to enhance your creativity and detail.

The mission on Praexus will be ending in the next few days.

I know this is a cross-Platoon comment, but I see "Dxun" and my DJO-blood gets a burnin'. The extreme presence of the Dark Side twisted all the beasts on that world to be killing machines.

KotOR showed you a relatively tame Dxun. Consider though, that even the kiddie version of Dxun required a pretty powerful Jedi (or 2 or 3) and a shitload of Mandalorians to survive on. Now it's 2000 or so years later, and the beasts have only been further demonized by the Dark Side. Bigger, badder, more aggressive, and ready to devour tasty morsels.

The place is a hell-hole.

Also consider the makeup of your squad: Mostly green troops and a rookie SL (this is not a slight of any kind, just reality). The chances of all (or any) of you surviving a mission to Dxun are extremely low.

Just food for thought. Take it or leave it.

Yeah, sorry, not that realistic to assume a squad could go down there and not get ripped to shreds. Onderon air patrols would probably be all over you guys issuing warnings if you even glance at Dxun.

I hate to crap all over your first attempt, but I strongly suggest you pick another planet. If you do have questions, feel free to ask the senior people for help.

I suggest that we just continue doing the Praexus bit. Since it's a multi-phase mission, we still have a lot that we could write. So why not just keep going with that? I mean RB, Karash, Grahim and I spent a LOT of time coming up with the planet, the mission, and everything. And not continuing with the Praexus  mission would just flush all of that down the toilet.

I say if we don't do the Dxun mission, then yes we should continue Praexus, especially since we have another phase where Ron can decide the specific direction we go in.

Righto, three things.

First: Angel, Tal; really would appreciate it if you approach me about these things in the future via PM... I really don't need the squad moral to be lowered this soon, nor do i need the criticism before I even start the story.  I honestly had support for this story BEFORE you guys had to dash it against the wall.  Please, please approach me about it in the future before you go and tell everyone why its not perfect.  I know its not perfect, I'm a brand new Squad Leader... I have never done this before.  Cut be a break, eh?

Second: Nobody said we'd pull it off, I am well aware that Dxun is no pleasure raid; but I am personally tired of all these Squad Missions always working out in the end like it was a piece of cake.  Yes, it will difficult, but nobody said its impossible.  We can do this, and I know my troopers will write with its difficulty in mind.

Third: The Story that was in place while Squad Leader was being determined will be brought back.  It is a multi-phase story as I understand and I will always be open to using stories that you guys come up with.

So here's what I've decided.

We will continue with this mission, as far as I know the only thing wrong with the story (according to the doubtful) is it's difficulty.  Yes, it will be difficult; but I think Raiders is up for the challenge.  IF anyone else has a problem with it, please catch me on IRC or via PM.

Just know that I expect you all to report; it really is a simple thing to do, and if you are unable to report just send me a PM telling me so a day or two before.

I will also be posting up my disciplinary methods that are in effect (at least until army-wide methods are established) in this squad for failure to report.

Troopers:
(1) Warning.
(2) Second Warning.
(3) Third and Final Warning.
(4) Removal from Squad.

Squad Officers (ASL and FTC):
(1) Warning.
(2) Second and Final Warning
(3) Removal from Position

(Demoted Squad Officers will adhere to the methods of discipline as given for troopers).

Also know that if you fail to report you will be removed from the Honors/High Honors list for the week pertaining to the offense.

So save yourself the grief and get these reports in!
