This is the deal with the story.

This is supposed to be a major turning point in the story, I am giving Tank and Olias some reinforcements, because hell, they need 'em. We're now reassualting the tower, which has got to be growing weak, what with all the explosions. We'll be reequipped, but still not with anything heavy or hard to get to, pretty standard stuff. WE ARE NOT ARMORED! Getting sick of having to say that. Some simple light armor, maybe, but nothing expensive, nothing all that effective. Remember, Chimera's advantages are cleverness and quickness, getting pulled into a slugging match will kill 'em. Hit and fade would be their best tactics.

Alright, as far as I'm concerned the story is done. Dante, if you want to know why a large portion of your post was ignored PM me.

We are now moving on to Burning Worlds. I'll get a post up sometime today/tonight/tomorrow morning. I want this to be a long, epic storyline, so if you have some suggestions you'd like to see incorporated shoot me a PM and I'll take a look at integrating them.

A word on equipment:

NO CLONE WARS CRAP! EVER! I just plain don't like the idea of us using outdated crap. I mean when it makes sense for outdated crap to be around, then sure, but for the most part, nay.

When you use an item think about where it came from. I've always assumed we have between 3-6 grenades, and 2-4 blaster packs, depending on body time and weapons. We could carry other small things, but I far too often see people pulling convienent detpacks and medpacks out all the time, I'd like to see more creative and realistic solutions. We can't just set up a base out of no where. I mean on a scouting mission we might carry a backpack containing more equipment, but that would mostly be food, camping equipment, and equipment directly related to our mission.

I can see why the post was ignored, and if you want it edited I'll be happy to oblige.

CW Weapons/Equipment:

The VE is overstretched. It would make sense for backwater battlegrounds and places it doesn't care about, and there are precedents. In numerous canon sources, the Empire is still using outdated equipment (Geonosis era troop transports, AT-TE's, SPHAT descendants), often only slightly modified. The VE, a rather small splinter Imperial faction, might well be desperate enough to use all the resources at its disposal.

The DC-17 is a fairly powerful weapon, and its interchangability seems to be unique among common blasters. The DC-15 is far more accurate than its later counterpart, has a longer range, and is fairly effective on droids as well as sentients. Besides, you'd expect some variation in weapon choice among a squad right. If they choose, illogically to use outdated crap(not unprecedented in real life wars)...
The point about the infinite grab bags is valid. The parts of the base in the competition story could well have been stored in the APC or tank.

Suggestion: Trenches, and artillery.

This is your new gun, clicky clicky. Its better than the DC-17 by a long shot! It has a harpoon, I mean!
