Alright. This is how see it.
Canon does not trump science all the time. Sometimes yes, but when science shows canon to be completely impossible science wins. When there's a degree vagueness not applicable in this situation canon can win because you just chalk it up to "super advanced techno-whatchamacallit" magic. In this case science wins. To me it seems that the only inconsistency between Riqi and canon is the Rad-Troopers carbine. As of now it does not exist. Maybe it never existed, maybe the blueprints were destroyed when the empire fell, maybe it was replaced with a newer weapon, maybe they were stolen by butt-mice. It shall remain one of life's great mysteries.
We are in a high radiation area, the people we're fighting should already be getting radiation burns, the higher radiation should render their weapons useless (and possibly explosive) in a short period of time.

Actually, the player squads are arguably somewhat valuable to the Empire, as well-trained troopers are in short supply. Added to the incompetence of some commanders and the massive casualties sustained under them, and it would stand to reason that they would need to at least try to keep the squads reasonably loyal and occupied. They have cannon fodder; what they don't have are veterans.
Indeed, I was thinking we could incorporate the high AWOL rate among noobs as a lack of faith in the Empire from an in-universe perspective...

While we're of some value, not enough for them to cry over should they lose us, if the gain is great enough we'll be killed off without regard. We are disposable. Exactly how disposable has yet to be determined.
I left that intentionally vague, but I would doubt it has anything to do with man power or moral obligations. They probably have valuable intel, technology, some such; again, doesn't matter.

Hey guys...
I wanted to explain why I've been gone. As some of you know, My Dad had a tumor in his neck, which meant I was spending time with him any chance I could. I realize that I should've popped in and explained before just leaving, but whatever.
Everything's fine with my Dad now, the Tumor is benign and they're keeping it in there, otherwise they'd have to scrape nerves and such out. Yummy eh? Anyway, I'm going to be more active, and I wasn't sure if the AWOL Check ended or not...

Alright guys, if your group doesn't keep you as active as you would like I may give you guys some nonsense story to post on in the down time. Basically it will be a free for all take-this-where-you-want kind of story where you can feel free to twist the plot any direction you want and do as many ridiculous things as you would like. Only going to bother if at least two of you are more active than your group for the competition though, since that comes first.
Also, Fenris, welcome back. Do. . .things.

The story is 'Murder-off' It's on the main storynet. Basicaly your orders are to cause as much chaos as possible within the city. How you choose to do so is up to you, if you want to go off by yourself or if you want to stay with a group or hell, if you want to try and get all the women and children out of the city before Snipes makes sock puppets out of them. I don't know what you call a mission like this, it's not made to make sense, it's just there for you to screw around and make what you want to out of it. So enjoy. Or don't. There's just one thing about vehicle crewman, we rarely use vehicles, although when we do I suppose they're ultra specialized ones or speeders Snipes has stolen. I'm sure I can make it fit, but realize your spec won't be of much use to you 70% of the time. I'm not going to stop you, just letting you know.
