Space Trooper Info:
The most heavily armed and armoured unit of stormtroopers in the Empire are the Zero-G Assault Troopers, known commonly as spacetroopers. These elite soldiers wear large powered suits of armour that give them the firepower of a light tank. Though standard stormtrooper armour does provide limited protection against hard vacuum, only these soldiers have been extensively trained for combat operations in space.

Their primary missions involve the capturing of enemy vessels intact and the pacifying of rebellious crews. Spacetroopers are typically deployed in units of 40 aboard assault shuttles. This platoon of soldiers can overtake capital ships with their determined assaults.

Spacetrooper armour functions as a personal spacecraft and attack vehicle. A spacetrooper wears a standard stormtrooper shell, and then plugs into a larger set of power armor that stands over two meters tall, and is twice as wide across as an unarmored man. For this bulky appearance, spacetroopers are sometimes called "walking tanks."

Powerful weaponry lines the powersuit armour. Paired grenade launchers are shoulder-mounted and magazine-fed, and are capable of launching concussion, stun and gas projectiles. On the right gauntlet is a powerful blaster cannon, while the left gauntlet features a miniature proton torpedo hurler. The gauntlet features laser cutters or rotating sleeves, allowing the spacetrooper to penetrate armoured hulls.

Spacetrooper armour is too cumbersome to operate within planetary gravities. A variety of models of spacetrooper armour have been developed over the years, with the latest generation being far more sleek and manoeuvrable than earlier iterations.

Raziel Yanked on the fingertip controls and, with a hiss of expelled gas, swung his spacetrooper suit around. His intelligent HUD quickly picked out a B-wing bomber bearing down on his squad.
He twisted his head within its suit and looked back at his squad. Slick and Hellra were busily cutting through the Starcruiser's hull, whilst Revan hung back, ready to board. Zar was firing torpedoes down the length of the capital ship at a cluster of turrets that was firing on them.
Lifting his left arm, Raziel brought his mini proton torpedo launcher to bear. Taking note of the readings on his HUD he fired a pair of torpedo's as soon as the B-wing was within range.
Looking through the bubble of plasti-glas that separated himself from the deadly vacuum, he couldn't help but feel a tad vulnerable. The B-wing's laser cannons fired wide, before the two torpedoes impacted on its side. One of the ship's S-foils was ripped off and the pilot pulled away.
A mammoth chunk of Dura-steel hull flew past Raziel, his HUD informed him that it was automatically stabilising against an external force. For a moment he lost visibility as the whole squad was engulfed in a giant, white, plume of gas escaping the capital ship. The suit quickly changed visual modes and Raziel found he could see, to an extent, through the gas. A few moments later it was over, the breach sealed from within the ship. As soon as the gas had stopped flooding out of the ship, Revan launched his suit forwards into the hole.
The rest of the squad followed quickly, their boots thudding as they magnetically sealed themselves to the floor. Raziel felt a brief sensation of giddiness as he felt a slight tug of artificial gravity, but hours of High and Low G training meant he recovered quickly. The first obstacle the squad faced was a set of doors that had slid shut to maintain air pressure on the far side. Zar's blaster cannon ripped through it with ease. Each of them stood still, as they had been trained, as more gas rushed past them. Their suits automatically held them firm to the floor. One the area was fully depressurised they moved on. Raziel brought up a map of the ship and checked their position. Always the objectives were the same head for the bridge or engine room and disable of take control of the ship.
A few moments later the suits told them that the area they were in was being re-pressurised. A door had obviously sealed behind them. Once the area was up to standard pressure they would probably meet resistance from the ship's crew. On the next corridor a pair of automated blaster turrets blocked their path, but with computer enhanced accuracy the squad took them out quickly in a flurry of cannon fire.
"Troops on our six!" Raziel heard through his comms. He quickly twisted around to see Revan, who had been bringing up the rear his suit walking backwards opening fire as troops filed in from a side corridor to attack.
"Revan, Jakrieth, hold here! Everyone else press on!" Raziel barked out orders. Jak's suit turned on one foot and fired a pair of shoulder mounted grenades into the soldiers behind them.
The rest of the squad hurried forwards, not far from the bridge now. A pair of blast doors blocked their path, and Raziel's suits instruments told him several squads of republic marines were forming up on the other side.
Their laser cutters made short work of the door and Raziel waded forwards, blasting away. Blaster fired bounced off of his suit, doing no damage and he ignored most of the enemy soldiers. Instead his in-built computer scanned for threatening weapons, instantly synchronized with the rest of the squad, and assigned targets. The marines had brought two repeating rifles and some portable missile systems to try and stop the spacetroopers, but they were destroyed by cannon fire before they could do any damage.
Then Raziel screen went blank. He panicked for a moment, he hadn't seen anyone about to fire on him, his computer had given him no threat warning . . .
A message flashed across his screen:

Lieutenant Raziel. You have been temporarily removed from simulation. Report to training commander.

With a hiss, his simulation suit opened up. He slid out into a large, cuboid room. all around him were more simulation suits, but only five were active, their arms swinging forwards and back. He hoped his squad was still doing well without him. For a moment he regretted leaving Jak behind as a rearguard, before realising that the suits communication systems would instantly bring him progress reports and allow him to give orders now that he had been designated leader.
Raziel looked up to the control room high above them, suspended from the ceiling in the centre of the room. sure enough, the supervisor of Zero-G training was standing there, waiting. He had taken a liking to the supervisor, he had a no nonsense approach to the training and rarely did things "by the book" often giving them hints and tips that were in no training manual. Last week he had shown them how the cutting lasers would be adjusted to create metre long cutting beams, that were awesome close combat weapons.
Raziel headed for the central lift. They were currently stationed aboard Tadath orbital station 9, which was entirely given over to Zero-G training. In this simulation room, the artificial gravity could be instantly adjusted with a flick of a switch. Jon, their supervisor, had told them of a particularly arrogant group of trainees who he had left, stuck to the ceiling, for a whole day.

"Ah things seem to be coming along nicely," Jon greeted him as he reached the control room. With a wave of his arm he indicated the multitude of screen spanning to walls. Indeed the raiders were doing well, most of the suits were functioning at over 90% combat efficiency and they had almost reached the bridge. "Not that I wouldn't expect that coming from Pheonix company members. That of course coupled with my excellent training regimes, sixteen hours 'in-space' zero-g, twenty hours simulation training . . ." the supervisor smiled widely.
    "Anyways, what's up?
"Aha! Well I think I've found a great training aid for you all. Only a few days ago we found out about an Old Republic attack cruiser drifting through the edges of our space. Thought it would make for an interesting exercise you see, you can only get so much of a 'feel' for fighting in powersuits from simulations you see?" Raziel nodded in agreement. "So, seeing as this ship is just a lifeless hulk now, I saw no reason not to use it for some exercises. You should have seen the amount of forms I had to fill in though? Putting your trainees at risk and all of that lot, 'course they've completely scanned the ship to make sure its structurally safe and there's nothing dangerous on board."
"Well it sounds good to me, how soon?" Raziel asked, not allowing himself t get bogged down in unnecessary chatter.
"We've already got an assault shuttle ready to go, we're just going over the final mission parameters. 'Course I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise," Jon said, tapping one finger to his nose and winking.
"Oh, looks like your lot just finished off!" Raziel turned around to see the view from Zar's POV. He saw a group of Republic officers being sucked out through the bridges blasted viewscreen.
"I'd best get back to them," and with that Raziel turned on his heel and took the lift back to the floor of the room, where his squad were emerging from their simulation suits.
Before they could begin questioning him on his sudden disappearance, he retold the details of their next mission. He glanced over his shoulder, back up to the control room to see a short man, decked out in black, leave the control room. He hadn't been their before, and Raziel knew imperial intel officers were not frequent visitors of the station . . .

As per Jon's promise the mission was arranged very quickly and within a few days the squad found themselves suiting up, en route aboard an assault shuttle, but still no wiser as to what the exercise involved. As Raziel powered up his suit, he felt the ship drop out of hyperspace. As his suit was designated as squad leader his HUD quickly filled up with information on the status of his squad mates. Jon had told him that Spacetrooper platoon commanders spent more time reading information that actually fighting on missions.
The squad filed out to departure room, where a group of technicians waited to check that they were properly suited. With a great shudder one of the walls folded away from them, opening up to the space outside. A magnetic field kept the atmosphere within the room. The republic attack cruiser was only a few miles away, it looked surprisingly intact for a drifting hulk. Perhaps it had been taken over from within by droid troopers he wandered.
The Jon walked into the room, flanked by two assistants. He looked down at a datapad in his hands, as if confirming something he wasn't completely sure about.
"Well, we have got something good in store for you all!" he shouted above the noise of the wall sliding out of the way. He waited until it came to a stop before continuing.
"Well as you can see we have been provided with an excellent training grounds. Now, let me fill you in on the exercise goals. You primary goal here is to make your way to the bridge of the ship and restore power from there, I've been told that the ship is only in a dormant state. Of course we're not going to make it easier. Firstly you're only allowed to enter the ship halfway down its length and no nearer to the bridge. Secondly, we have a wing of Y-Wing standing by to simulate an attack run on you all. Obviously we haven't provided you with live proton torpedo's instead just fight them off with laser cannons. They'll be firing simulated shots only, so we'll let you know if you've been hit. Next as soon as you enter the ship your suits have been programmed to lose communication with us, of course in a real battle the enemy ship would likely jam your comms. Finally we've dug up a load of old droid soldiers and we've loaded them all onto the ship, you'll have to fight through them all to get to the bridge.
"I fully expect you not to have much trouble completing the mission, but it'll prove invaluable to give you real battle experience. As soon as we have deployed you we'll pull back out of the attack cruiser's range, just in case you accidentally activate any weapons. Any Questions?" The squad was silent.
"Ok then, off you go!" he said indicating the Cruiser through the open port.

"Ok squad, Revan up front, Jakrieth, Zar, Slick and Hellra cover a direction each, I'll cover the rear." Raziel said into his comms, reminding himself once again that space was a fully three-dimensional combat zone. The squad shuddered into action, stomping forwards, through the field and out into space. It was a strange sensation as they left the artificial gravity of the shuttle. The squad orientated themselves with their jetpacks as Jon's voice sounded loud and clear through their comms,
"Ok Squad is launched, pull back." Then he added, "Good luck Guys!"

The only squad member truly listening to the incoherent ramble of the training officer was Raziel, but then again, that was because he had to. Common respect between high-ranked Imperials demanded that sort of attention.

All Jakireth was told about their next training mission the night before was that it would take place on an abandoned Rebel freighter. Of course, they would experience Zero Gravity first hand, and Jakireth preferred to do that from the safety of his newly found equipment. With that thought, he smiled widely and patted his Zero-G suit on the shoulder section. As he did so, he caught the eye of at least two squadmates, obviously wondering why he was showing affection towards his combat equipment.

Jakireth looked around grinning, then said, "If you realized that this thing was the only barrier between life and death in the infinite vacuum of space, you'd be a little giddy too..." and the criticizing looks somewhat faded away. This was the squad's first encounter with an actual Zero Gravity situation, and no one liked to be reminded that they were about to board an enemy vessel from the outside& After everyone was given ample time to let the thoughts of being sent directly into space sink in, Jakireth heard final words being exchanged and turned around to see what was happening. As he did, the training officer saluted Raziel, and their squad leader merely nodded back; the armor too cumbersome to waste time lifting his hand. Jon (as Raziel called him) smiled back, becoming very excited himself. Jakireth knew that if they weren't being held under unusual gravitational settings to prepare for launch, he would be jumping. His voice though, was still laced with happiness as he spoke: "Ok then, off you go!"

"Alright Raiders, let's get going!" Slick said over the hum of the blast doors closing behind them. Now, it was just the Raiders, and the bay force field; keeping the darkness of space securely behind it. Unfortunately for them, the depressurization alarm was set off, and the field purposely collapsed in front of them.
"Set suit thrusters to maximum," Jakireth said loudly into his ComLink, no one would be able to hear him over the activity in the hangar if he didn't use it, "we'll need all power for launch!" Several faces turned his way, nodding in approval, although Revan's attention was still fixed on his suit controls; fumbling with the thrusters until they were set off respectively.
Raziel and Slick set off first, their magnetic clamps in the armor releasing them into space. "Boarding formation on my mark!" yelled Raziel happily, if anyone was enjoying this, it was him: "Three, two, one...mark!"
Immediately the squad responded, Hellra and Jakireth were off to opposite sides of the squad, while Raziel covered them from behind, and Revan and Slick moved up front. Everyone seemed to loosen up a bit after that. The launch was successful, and the formation was executed with the utmost perfection. Now all they had to do was sit back, relax, and wait for their current course to take them into range of the hull.

"Wait, something is coming up on my HUD..." Hellra exclaimed. Slick and Jakireth responded with loud swears accordingly. "She's right, I'm getting something as well..."
Raziel said softly, paranoia on his voice.
Jakireth became angry, almost deafening his squad mates with his dialogue, "No one informed us of a presence near our position... This better be a joke, or that training officer..." Fortunately for the others, his speech was cut short. He turned to look at everyone, and they saw that he was in a mix of anger, and shock.

"Watch out!" Revan yelled, letting everyone know something was about to happen, "Six Rebel fighters approaching our position!"
Jakireth snapped out of his mystery fit just in time to start barking orders:
"I see them! They're flanking us!" He exclaimed, arming his missile launcher in the same accord, "Hellra, cover our left, I'll open fire on our right!"
The last thing anyone expected was a surprise attack from Rebel fighters. This was supposed to be a training mission for Zero-G, not deep space combat situations. Not to mention, the squad wasn't even sure this was a part of the training at hand. It could be an attempt to thwart their program entirely; again, they weren't sure. Conveniently enough, the communications systems were jammed to the main assault ship, and they had no way of confirming it either way.
Raziel was just beginning to notice the events occurring when he shouted:
"Raiders, defensive maneuvers!"
Jakireth nodded, yelling along as well, "Everyone get into position quickly! They already have the upper-hand from their surprise attack, form up now!"

(Refer to the 'Raiders' ComNet thread for more information on objectives || I know it isn't a full-fledged addition, but I want to give some others a chance before we reach the hull)

Hearing Revan's yell, Slick whirled to face the younger troopers direction, and muttered a string of curses.  The rebel fighters were indeed bearing down on their current position.  The emotions of the squad ranged from stunned, to nervous, and to downright frightened.  Slick's own was downright frightened.  He hated this, stupid bulky Zero-G armor, and now had no idea if this was a training excercise or not.  Best to assume the worst he thought to himself.  After a moment Raziel called for the squad to move into a defensive fighting position.

"Wedge-formation everyone!  Keep those ships back!" Raziel yelled to the troops.

Raziel took his place at the front, with Zar slightly left and back of him.  Revan did the same on the right, and Slick took up his position, slightly right and back of Revan.  Jakireth and Hellra moved to make the second team, but with just the two of them it was awkward.

The rebel fighters came straight at the squad, and they waited for Raziel's signal. As they waited all that entered Slick's mind was the knowledge that they had no proton torpedoes.  He grimaced under his faceplate... this was going to get ugly real soon...

Finally the signal came. Raziel opened fire on the lead ship with his laser cannons hoping to at least faze them.  With the first shot fired the rest of the squad fired as if their lives depended on it.  In a way it did.  No proton torpedoes, simulation laser cannon rounds... if this really is a rebel attack Slick thought then all this training has gone to waste!  He felt that black laughter rising in his stomach, but he didn't give voice to it.  The squad layed down a heavy stream of fire, but it didn't seem to be doing anything to the ships.  The ships headed straight at the Raiders as if on a collision course!

The Raiders quickly moved out of the way.  The ships blasted through their formation only moments later.  Slick found that he was beside Revan and Jakireth.  The three men watched the ships leave, and wondered what was going to happen next.  Revan gave out a sigh of relief, and the other two looked at him.

"Do you think those fighters will be back?" Revan asked.

"I have no idea kid. I hope n....." Slick started, but then Jakireth yelled. "They're making another run at us!"

The blackness of space seemed to be immeasurable.  It streched on through planets, and galaxies.  It was also cold, and cruel.  It could give you the strength to survive, or take your life away in moments.  A species life means nothing to the darkness of space.

The ships turned in an almost to perfect fashion.  Private First Class Slick felt unrelenting black terror clutch his insides.  He forced it down with the tried and tested willpower of a soldier.  He faced the ships with courage... determined to give no ground.  As the ships approached he realized that his body had begun to shake.  In terror, or excitement he could not be sure.

Acting with the reflexes of a seasoned stormtrooper, he raised his right gauntlet.  He began to fire on the approaching ships, and nearly all of his shots found there mark.  Out of the corner of his eye he noticed that Jakireth, and Revan had moved beside him.  The three troopers made a kind of impromptu skirmish line.  Each had choosen a target, and the blackness of space was filled with laser bolts.  The black was sooned filled with a colorful display of death, as the bolts met there respective targets.

Using nearly all his shots on the lead ship, Slick was pleased to see that it's shields were faultering.  The ships shields were much more powerful than the simple laser rounds, but under a constant barrage of firepower the ship began to faulter.  It quickly turned, and headed to a destination unknown.  The ship hurled itself into space as if the hounds of hell were upon it.  With one ship out of action, Slick joined his comrades to finish this fight once and for all.

Barely noticing that the rest of the squad had joined them, Slick layed down a heavy rate of fire.  The bolts hit the shields of the ships, but did little to slow them down.  The combined firepower of Revan and Jakireth quickly made a second ship decide on easier targets.  It turned from the Raiders, and quickly fired it's engines.  The ship flew from the combat zone.  That left only a few more... but those few fighters were bearing down with unnerving speed.

"Hold positons!" Jakireth yelled as the ships came ever closer.

Jakireth stumbled on his words, even he was becoming a bit scared with the barrels of ship-mounted blasters bearing down upon him. Come to think about it...that would scare anyone. Looking around, he noticed nearly everyone had a slight look of terror on their face. Apparently, everyone realized the severity of 4 working Rebel fighters approaching their position, a great time to come back to reality.

"Wait for it...wait for it..." Jakireth muttered, almost beginning the maneuver before he declared it, "Evasive tactics! Front line troopers: Revan, Raziel, move up and provide some cover and a decent distraction! Everyone else split up and flank 'em!"
Slick was on his right, providing a large amount of laser fire as he began taking shots. Jakireth was more of a 'Get it right the first time' soldier at the moment, working at more accurate, powerful shots then a flurry of blaster rounds.

Revan was being threatened by a massive amount of enemy fire as well, but was still able to notice what was happening behind him:
"Hellra, watch the Y-Wing coming around of your left!" Revan shouted almost heroically, seeing his fellow squadmate fall out of danger's grip. Although his attention was still focused behind him, while 4 laser bolts flew past his armor, 2 nearly centimeters away from a grim death.

Raziel didn't seem very talkative after seeing the fighters come into view, and Jakireth began wondering what was running through his mind. "Raz, you alright over there?" The ComLink was silent for a while, and Jakireth felt that something was out of place, and after his response, it appeared that there was, "Yeah Jak, fine over here. These damned suits are constricting though..."
The entire squad laughed over the communications system, almost forgetting what was happening around them. 'Interesting...' Jakireth thought...a "constriction" joke that induced forgetfulness in a combat situation.

The moments occuring after that showed how well the squad operated under high-stress conditions. Slick and Jakireth managed to drive back 3 of the remaining fighters, while the other troopers damaged their shields and sent them scurrying away.
"Nice job everyone!" Jakireth shouted, very proud of what they had accomplished.

"The Cruiser is coming into direct view, prepare to activate magnetic clamps!" Raziel said as the last Y-Wing was removed from view.

Revan is doing Security along with the others while Slick and Hellra are cutting through the hull. Revan is with the Rest of the squad patrolling. Revan then hears fighters coming for more harassment. Revan tells the others get to the guns fighters are coming again. Revan gets to his turret and starts nailing the squadron of Fighters to provide cover for the others to get to the turrets. The squad was all at the turrets attacking the fighters. Slick and Hellra were doing fine at the moment it happened. Revan told the squad, another squadron and they are both coming from both sides. The squad turned the turrets to Sector 12, Vertex 19 and then fired upon the fighters. While the Fighting was going on Slick and Hellra were having problems. Revan listened to the comlink on his wrist and in his ear. Hellra Said, " We're having problems cutting through the hull. Its getting harder and harder to cut through it." Revan told them, " I am going to be there as soon as possible." Revan and the Squad destroyed the Fighters. They went to see what the problem is and when they got there Hellra had told them, "It is getting thicker and thicker to cut through it." Revan thought about how the Hull. He then said, " There is 6 layers of metal to get through the Hull. If you are getting thicker you are in the middle of the Hull's layer. By adding an attachment to get the Blades to cut thicker and faster it just might cut through the hull and gaining us Access to the Ship." Then, Hellra and Slick added the attachment Revan talked about and then......

have another go at the stubborn hull again.

"Merde!" cried Hellra out in frustration, as it didn't to work so effectively as they hoped it would.

"Slick, stop, let take this towards the left part of the ship, if Revan is right about the hull being thicker here, then I am not wasting my time if we can get the job done faster on a weaker spot.
Revan raised an eyebrow at Hellra's suggestion doubting the greenhorn Raider's suggestion. He had no time to question as blasts almost ripped them from life.
Uncomfortable Hellra swung backwards, she swore inwardly in her spacetrooper suit, still used to the Lancer squad's techniques, or maybe it was because she was a close-combat trooper.

Her myopic eyes stared in the black space, not really analysing what there was to be seen. A voice over her comlink bought her back to reality.
"hellra, job, hull, do you remember?" asked Jakireth sarcastic over her comlink.
Jakireth shook his head at the distracted Raider.

She bought her focus back to the attachment and saw Slick and Revan motioning her to follow them to try the attachment at a different angle of the hull. Her thoughts gathered, as her mind worked overtime.
"Guys, wait, we can still cut through here, but instead of adding another attachment, we must take it off"
Hellra noticed their confused and annoyed glances.

"Sorry guys, I just remembered, we should have done the exact opposite of what Revan suggested. The thicker the attachment is the harder it will be to cut. Bit how smaller the surface of the attachment is, the more pressure will be put on the hull"

Slick sighed irritated,
"Hell, you could have made up your mind earlier"
Hellra held her hands up defensively,
"Hi guys, I was just suggesting, and thinking." She said grinning nervously.
Slick sighed again as he and Hellra removed the extra attachment along with another attachment.
"Should we have another go?" asked Hellra
"It wouldn't hurt," replied Slick hastily as he saw Jakireth nearing them,
"But maybe we should take up your earlier suggestion also, as Rev is right about the middle being thicker the part" he continued.

"Guys, I don't want to pressure you, but we are really needing speed here" said Jakireth's voice over the ComLinks.

Hellra and Slick nodded to each other and started cutting again, right on the spot where they were. Their magnetic claps kept them firmy planted, but Hellra still could help but feel dizzy whenever she gazed in the depthless space around her.
Her stomach jolted as her hands lowered very suddenly. They have broken through the hull. She gave a relieved laugh over her comlink. Now they only had to cut a opening big enough for them to go through.

"Right, just to fill you all in on the details of the mission," Raziel said clearly into his comm unit as he saw Hellra and Slick pierce the hull of the cruiser. "Inside the ship we've planted a few platoons of droid soldiers to oppose us as we try to take the bridge. They'll be using soft light blasters, so they cant do any real damage. However your suit will display damage on the HUD as it usually would in really combat and your suits are programmed to shut down if you get 'killed.'
"We follow the usual tactics, avoid narrow corridors, two men take the rear. If we get into a tight spot launch smoke grenades and switch to infra-red vision." A series of affirmative replies followed from the squad.
Raziel twisted his suit around, leaving Jakrieth and Zar to hold off the last determined fighters. He made a mental note to talk to Jon afterwards about the imperial pilots he'd used, they really were getting too much now, if the squad had been armed with torpedoes they'd have been wiped out already.

There was no hiss of air as Hellra finished cutting a hole through the hull, the ship was not pressurised underneath this part of the hull. Raziel pushed his control levers fully forwards and he surged forwards through the gaping hole. Somehow a battle droid had already moved to their entry point, as Raziel surged forward into the cruiser, bright blue bolts of light arced out to meet him.
Two blaster bolts struck him, but his HUD showed minimal damage, instead Raziel just powered forwards. His two massive boots thudded into the droids chest, its spindly body was crushed against the floor. Raziel stepped away, twisting his head within his suit to look back and forth. There were no other droids in the area. In a moment the other Spacetroopers landed besides him, there was no active artificial gravity, so their boots held them to the floor magnetically. With no real sense of up or down it was easy to be disorientated, only the décor of the corridor showed them what was really the floor.
"Is the whole ship decompressurised?" Jak asked.
"No, only sections of it, the bridge definitely has atmosphere apparently," Raziel replied.
"Well why are parts vacuum then? I could see no obvious external damage, in fact this ship hardly looks like its been in a fight."
"Well no one's really bothered to find out, they left the ship untouched as a training mission for us. I guess we'll find out when we get to the bridge." Raziel said in a tone that ended the conversation.
He checked his HUD as the suits on board computer plotted out the optimum route to the bridge, it highlighted obvious points where a defending force would place barricades or set up ambushes. The information was instantly relayed to the rest of the squad. As had been promised Raziel noticed that his suit had automatically cut off communication with their assault shuttle.
"Right then, we have six hundred and twenty metres to get on foot and several hundred battle droids between us and the bridge. Lets get moving. Revan, Slick cover the rear. Jak you have point. Move out!"

Hellra gazed at the massive hall they entered in. This wasn"t her first time landing on a ghost ship. She turned towards Jakireth and Raziel.
"Which way guys?"
Raziel glanced around, before his voice crackled through the Comlink.
"We take right, up to the bridge obviously"
Hellra blushed furiously, embarrassed for asking such obvious question. In the corner of her eye she saw Slick and Jakireth moving back to cover the rear while Raziel started moving in the direction of the bridge.

It was coincidental that Hellra and Slick have sliced their way in not far from the nearest door. The grey durasteel halls clashed horribly with their white armour.
Raziel walked towards the access pad lined on the left side of the door. He typed in a code to open the door while the rest of the Raiders pushed themselves against the wall, not wanting to be caught in the middle of the hall.

A few seconds passed while Raziel was trying to open the door, though his attempts have proven to be futile.

"I don"t know why the codes wont work, Jon gave it to me personally" said Raziel frustrated over the ComLink.
"That could mean that someone&." Jakireth didn"t finish his sentences as most of them finished it in their thoughts.
"It cant be possible, but we should keep that scenario open" said Raziel abruptly as he continued his futile attempt to open the door.

Hellra trudged slowly and carefully to his side. She glanced over his shoulder to see the pad. In the bottom left corner of the pad a small symbol was roughly engraved on the durasteel, it had a snakelike form, but ended like a pitchfork. She actually expected it to there and wasn"t surprised at all.

"Sir, if I may?" she asked to Raziel who was still having difficulty opening the door. He frowned but let her have a look at the pad. Hellra gazed intensely at the symbol for a few seconds before she hesitantly entered a code. A hiss followed immediately as the door opened softly. But no one heard the hiss as blasts immediately erupted from the other side. Raziel and Hellra pushed themselves along with the others against the wall taking a breather before returning the vicious assault.

Jakireth made a mental note to himself through the small war of blasts to ask Hellra how she knew the code.
"Revan, how about a grenade!" shouted Slick through his Comlink, as he ducked back to avoid damage.  Revan nodded as he readied his suit to launch the grenade.
"Rev, use an EMP!" shouted Hellra forgetting she was speaking with him over a Comlink.

"An EMP? & I wanted to use the Proton," said Revan.
"Hellra launch your own grenade, Rev do what you want" ordered Jakireth through their ComLink. Hellra shrugged and readied the grenade launcher in her suit. On the count of three she and Revan quickly shot the grenades through the door from where the blasts emitted. Shortly afterwards blue bolts reflected on the halls and their armour casting dark blue shadows, courtesy of her EMP, followed by an explosion covering them in light soot.
Hellra poked her head around the corner of the door to see if there were any surviving droids.
"Hell, get back and let Raz give clearance" said Jakireth over the Comlink. She could dimly make out his form through the hazy smoke filled hall.
Raziel walked through the door while scanning the area on his HUD. A few seconds passed silently. Considering the fact that no blasts were sounded when Raziel walked through the door was an immediate assumption for the squad that the druids were destroyed. Their assumption was confirmed a few seconds later over the ComLink when Raziel gave clearance.

Hellra got up from her kneeled position and quickly trudged through the door.
She was surprised to find her ASL suddenly at her side taking long strides to keep up with her short ones.

"How did you know the access codes?" he asked getting straight to the point.
Hellra sighed,
"Ask me, when we get back at the barracks, we have training to now" she answered avoiding Jakireth"s question. She quickened her pace to reach Raziel.
Jakireth narrowed his eyes in suspicion. He will get to the bottom of this.

"Raz, I hate to point this out, but doesn't these suits only have five hours of power, and six of life?" asked Hellra nervously, not very comfortable with the thought of running out of oxygen while still in the black void of space.

"I know, that is why we have a little time pressure on us, we have about four and a half hours left of power" said Raziel.
"Oh, umm, okay," replied Hellra not sure what to think.
"Okay guys, lets keep moving!" ordered Raziel sharply as the squad gathered in the droid filled hall.

Zar was running out of breath keeping up with the rest of the squad.Up to this point, it had been a pretty routine mission entering the ship. Still no knowing how Hellra had figured out the codes for the blast doors, he shook it off and pressed on. It was oddly quiet as they moved down the hallway, their heavy footsteps being the only sound, echoing into the distance. Suddenly Zar's HUD started beeping and signaling enemies in front of him.

"What's wrong?" Jakireth questioned as Zar had suddenly stopped and started looking around.
" I don't know...it's nothing" Zar muttered as he kept running, but keeping his cannon ready to fire.
" What's going on here?" Jak thought to himself and said softly over his comlink.
" I don't know. Just move on." replied Raziel peeking around a corner and signaling for the Raiders to move ahead. " Remeber we have to move faster. We want to avoid any complications"

" Faster? Is that even possible?" said Revan obviously tired out.
"Looks like we need some more training. I thought you guys were prepared for this.
Numerous grunts were heard from the Raiders as they were surrounded by droids quickly running up to them.
"About time..." said Jakireth "Everyone back to back"
The squad quickly fired at the driods, the laser cannons pummeling through row after row, but it didn't seem to stop them. It seemed as if they were pouring out from somewhere.

"Where are all of them coming from?" said Revan, taking heavy fire. Though the lasers were weak, they added up, flashes and alarms everywhere in their helmets.
" We're taking too much damage like this, split up. Just...do whatever, get rid of them." ordered Raziel taking a step forward and throwing a droid back hitting the row behind it.

" Heh, they're in their standard row formation, nice and easy for us" Hellra said opening fire again on the droids.
Zar was impressed with how much better the squad had gotten at moving around in their "spacesuits". He hadn't done much to help out though, as his suit seemed heavier so he just fired with his cannon to cover Slick who had been working hard to fight off the droids.
Raziel moved forward, Jakireth behind him making sure there was noone else around. Raziel and Jakireth then began running up a small ramp firing down on more approaching droids.
" We're close to the bridge now, just behind that blast door" said Raziel pointing behind him. Just get rid of those droids.
" This is getting annoying now" said Zar firing on the droids from his position.
"Yep" said Slick who suddenly pointed out a data droid running through a small door and seeming to activate something as the door closed behind it. " What was that?" Slick said running up to the door, as Jakireth yelled out.
" A little help here?"
" Sorry" Slick said as pushed an enemy down and out of the way clearing the way.
Zar moved up to the door  punching it and firing, trying to force it open. His fist clashed loudly with the metal. Zar now giving up ran back to where the Raiders had taken cover, making sure not too take too much damage. He ran quickly to catch up.

" Look out Zar!!" Revan yelled out as Zar looked left and was fired upon. His system alarms were flaring yet again, this time his suit violently shuddering. Falling to his knees he tried to move but was unable to, just seeing his HUD flashing 'Critical Damage' until he was brought to the ground by the total weight of the suit as it powered down.

All Zar could see was blackness as his helmet fell to the floor, dragging the rest of his body with it, the only sounds being the faint chatter over his comlink, then a beep as it died.

I wonder what that droid did on the other side of the door, Slick wondered to himself as they continued the mission.  He snapped out of his own thoughts as he heard Revan's yell across the com.  Hearing the panic in the kid's voice, Slick spun on his heel, and nearly toppled over.  He turned just in time to see Zar fall, and knew that trouble had just reared it's ugly head.

"Raz! Jak! Man down!" yelled Slick over the com.

Not waiting to see if the rest of the squad noticed what was happening, Slick moved into action.  Waving for Revan to follow the two troopers hurried to Zar's side.  Slick raised his right gauntlet, and crouched in the corridor to present a smaller target.  Before he had even fired a shot, he took two blasts in the chest.  He began to fire at the oncoming droids, and at the same moment Revan was dragging Zar away from the firefight.  Another shot hit Slick's suit high in the right shoulder.  Snarling he turned and took down the irritating droid.

"I HATE DROIDS!" yelled Slick as Raziel joined him to covor the corridor.

"Jak, take charge for the moment. Slick and I will join you at the next junction as soon as we finish up here."  Raz said into his helmut com unit.

"Got it. Don't die on me you two!" Jak said as he lead the squad away from the battle.

The two men were outnumbered, but their armored spacesuits made up for it.  The droids numbers seemed to be unfathomable.  For everyone they took down it seemed as if two more took its place.  The stormtroopers were holding their own however.  Suddenly the droids moved to the side, and the troopers looked at what appereared to be a mounted heavy weapon.

"What is that....." Slick trailed off as Raz muttered, "Uh-oh."

Jakireth stopped next to Hellra, the unconscious Zar and Revan.
"What does Raz say?" asked Hellra worriedly as she glanced to Zar.
"He and Slick will finish up, while we have to wait for him at the next junction"
Hellra raised her eyebrows, she poked her head back to see where Raziel and Slick were fighting for their lives now as their suits was getting damaged. Slight smoke was already rising from Raziel's suit.

"What are we waiting for, lets get to that junction," exclaimed Revan kneeling at Zar's side to check up on him. A small river of blood was trickling down the side of his cheek, creating a puddle of blood on the glass of his suit.

Before either of them could say anything they heard an explosion followed soon by a massive shockwave. Even though they had magnetic clamps securing them to the floor, they were still somewhat unbalanced.  The shockwaves were soon followed by roaring flames engulfing the hallway, Hellra glanced at Jakireth worriedly, not sure wheter Slick and Raziel would have made it alive.

She gave a sigh of relief when she saw two silhouetted figures against the flames.
They waited a few seconds as Slick and Raziel joined them at their sides.
"Wha?"
"No time Hell, get to the junction those droids are still on their way" ordered Raziel hastily, sweat trickling down his temples underneath his helmet.
Without speaking Revan and Slick hoisted Zar between them. It was rather difucut as this was their first time attempting to carry someone while still in their suites.

While they rounded a corridor seeking the junction feverously Hellra heard the slow clanking and scraping of droid legs, gaining ground on them.
"Come on people!" urged Jakireth them. His eyes darting around looking for anything that might provide cover if they were suddenly trapped.

Hellra turned her head around, seeing the first squad of droids rounding the corner they just passed. She focused back to what was in front of her; running. She stopped abruptly when they reached the junction. It was closed; she strode over to the security pad without thinking. Another symbol was carved out on it. She entered the code hesitation this time. Without surprise the  blast door opened.

Revan and Slick almost threw Zar through the door while it was still hissing open, while Jakireth broke in a sprint along with Raziel as the droids open fired on them. Raziel immediately reached the security pad on the on the other side of the junction waiting for Hellra to slip through before he closed the doors.

Blasts was still sounding when the blast doors closed, each and every Raider made sure to keep clear of the closing gap, while Raziel was checking up on Zar.

"So tell us, how do you know the codes?" asked Jakireth suspicious and curiously through the comlink. He didn't like being kept in the dark about things happening in the squad. Hellra avoided the Raiders fixed gazes on her as she studied her hands.

"I lived in a rebel base, they invented the system of carving symbols on the security pads, no one but a rebel could read the symbols, and the symbols represented each an unique password. I didn't know it was used in other rebel bases also. " Hellra looked up to see the reaction her fellow squad mates, she wasn't surprised to see shock written on their faces. She had this similar experience with her old squad.
"Not a very good system though, especially with spies" she joked trying to lighten the atmosphere.
Reality was bought back to them when they suddenly heard something heavy hitting the junction door the just closed.

"Talk later. Guys lets get moving!" ordered Raziel.
"What are we to do with Zar?" asked Slick, he was still kneeled at Zar's side.

Slick says, "I suggest we leave him behind. We must make our way to the bridge ASAP."

Slick adds to what he said, "I am saying that if we bring him along, it would slow down us! So what should we do before more Droids come!"

Revan replies with anger, "Sorry, Slick but I am not leaving any man behind. We need Zar to get him in a Bacta Tank after we leave. If we don't The Droids for sure will heal him and interrogate him! We are taking him along, Right Raziel?"

Slick gives Revan a glare, then says, "Why do you disagree Rev? He isn't any use of now."

Revan says to Slick, "He is a good soldier and we don't leave good soldiers behind!"

The Damaged Raziel, "If we leave Zar behind he will definitely be interrogated."

Jakireth responds on the WristCom, "I agree with Slick, We can't carry around the almost dead weight of Zar's Unconscious body!"

Hellra yells, "I am through with arguing just Take Zar's Body and Carry him so we can have him healed! Also, in the hands of Safety!"

Revan replies, "Ok I will carry Zar around for us and still keep on firing at these damned Droids!"

Revan rushes to Zar's Body, picks him up but is struggling to pick him up. He doesn't give up and picks him up. He then throws him over his shoulder with struggle. The Whole Squad continues to the Door. Revan goes up to the Door.

Revan says, "May I have the codes Jakireth?"

Jakireth hands Revan the codes. Revan puts in every damn code.

Revan Yells at the door and kicks it. Next, he looks over at Jakireth with a glare.

Revan says, "Why don't they work and do we have to do something specific to open it?"

Raziel replies, "Put in the codes and press the enter button."

Slick suddenly interrupts the conversation, "We got 25 Droids coming towards us!"

The Squad goes into engaging the Droids.

Revan starts rapidly firing blaster shots. Slick and Hellra are launching EMP grenades. Raziel and Jakireth are firing also but with both blaster and grenade launcher. They all go into a full force attack. They keep on going at the Droids for a while with out casualties. Raziel finds cover since he is near death and starts launching Grenades like Crazy. Revan and the others keep on firing.

Revan then says, "Find some cover 25 more Droids coming, they are the reinforcements!"

He looks over and Sees the squad finding cover and firing back like there was no tomorrow for them. He finds cover and lays Zar down behind him. He goes over to Raziel.

Revan says to Raziel, "You think the squad could to keep them at bay long enough for us to find a way in?"

Raziel replies, "Just long enough, I will figure out a way just keep hammering into them!"

Revan puts Zar down out of the line of fire, and hurry's back to his comrade's.  The firefight is getting heavy, and everyone of them knew that if they weren't careful this would be the end of their training.  The droids kept coming, and keeping up a good rate of fire. Doing his best to not get shot, Private First Class Slick began firing with a vengeance.

"Jakireth, Revan! Hold the line! Hellra, you and Slick cut us a hole in that door!" Raziel yelled into his com.

"Got it. Moving now." Slick replied.

The two troopers moved to the door, well behind the covor fire of Jakireth and Revan. They quickly activated the low level cutting lasers on their wrist's.  Slick took the first shot at the door. His laser quickly pierced the durasteel door, and began the long process of cutting through. He risked a quick glance behind him, and noticed that the droids onslaught had caused Jak, and Revan to crouch. As he turned back towards the door a stray laser bolt hit the door inches from Slick's armored head.

"Damn droids." he muttered to himself. "Jak you think you can stop them from shooting at ME?!"

With a chuckle Jakireth replied, "I'll try, but unfortunatly it isn't that easy."

"Got more coming. Seems this is where they want to finish us." Raziel growled. "Let's show them the ropes Raiders."

Slick removed his cutting laser and deactivated it. He looked at Hellra. "Take over for me. I'm going to lend a hand to the others."

Hellra nodded, and began to cut as Slick turned away. He quickly ran to Jak's side, and crouched. He quickly scanned the situation, and he didn't like it one bit. The droids filled the entire corridor, and if the door wasn't opened soon then Raider squad would be finished.

Slick turned to Jak, and grinned. "I got twenty credits that say I kill more droids than you."

Laughing Jakireth said, "I'll take that bet."

Without looking Jak fired a shot, and a droid went down. "Looks like I'm winning!"

Revan and the Squad keeps firing at the droids. Raziel gives commands from behind the line of fire.

Raziel commands, "Revan fire at the droids at the head, Slick and Jak launch some grenades between firing, Hellra Keep on cutting through the door.  While, Provide Protection for me."

Jak and Slick are argueing over how many kills they have.

Jak says, " 52, 53, 54, 56, 57,.... lets see ya beat that."

Slick starts hammering them, "103, 106, 110,... well die you metal piece of trash."

Jak and Slick keep on hammering the droids and they get down to the last few droids. Jak hits 5 droids, then Slick 10 droids, Jak hits the 3 to last 4 droids. Slick gets the last 4 droids.

Slick tells Jak, "Pay up Jak I have 10 more kills than you Jak."

Jak gives Slick 20 plus 10 credits for bonus of 10 more kills credits to Slick. Then Hellra gets throught the middle of the door when the Squad gets overwhelmed. The Squad knocks half of them when more droids come.

Hellra says, "I have cut throught the door. Lets go and Revan pick up Zar."

Revan picks up Zar and the squad goes through the door.

Raziel says to Jak and Hellra, "You two stay here and guard the door."

On board the Assault Shuttle . . .
"What is it that I'm looking at then?" Jon said as he leant over his assistants shoulder. The corporal had called him up during his sleeping hours, claiming there was some kind of problem.
"Ok Sir, I apologise but I think you really need to see this . . ." he tapped a few buttons on his console and a holo-display rose into view in front of them. A three dimensional blueprint of the Old Republic Cruiser formed in front of them. "Right, this yellow line represents the path that Raiders took to the bridge. These green dots indicate the initial positions we placed the droids in,"
"Yes, yes, that's fine," Jon replied impatiently.
"Well as you see, the droids moved to intercept, but now watch the area around the engine bay . . ." The green dots slowly moved to intercept the Raiders paths, but around the engine bay the green dots flared red and then winked out, one by one.
"What happened to them? We lost contact?"
"Yes sir, but not before they registered as going into combat mode."
"Ok that's odd, did they manage to register what the droids perceived as a threat?"
"No sir, not before we lost contact."
"Hmmm," Jon sat and stared at the sphere surrounding the engine bay where there were no longer any droids present. "Did you manage to pull up any information on this ship yet?"
"Yes sir I did. It was commissioned right at the start of the Clone wars, but never officially saw any action. It was on deep recon missions and never returned. The Navy at the time just presumed it was taken out by a separatist hunting group."
"That'd make sense, except there doesn't seem to be any obvious signs of damage, just a drifting hulk?"
"Well actually sir there are signs of hull breech on the lower levels,"
    "Suggesting what corporal?"
"A possible separatist droid boarding attack. Apparently it was quite common for droid ships to launch torpedoes full of destroyer droids at Clone ships,"
"You think it's possible that there could be some more old clone wars droids on there, still active?"
"Just a possibility sir," The corporal replied, hesitating.
"Is there any way we can communicate with the squad?"
"No sir, the connection is cut off at their end, but they're at the bridge and I'm sure they'll be leaving the ship again soon. And anyways it is actually more likely that there is a radiation leak in the engine bay and that's what tripped the droids defence mechanisms, it could also have fried their circuits. That would also suggest the almost perfect sphere around the engine bay that's been cleared of droids."
"Quite right corporal, but I'd like you to take the ships last known position and velocity and backtrack its progress through this sector, find out exactly where it was when it started drifting!"
    "Sir,"
"Is that intelligence official still hanging around?"
    "Yes sir,"
"Right I'll see if I can find it, I thought it was fishy an intel officer hanging around for a training mission!"

Raziel stomped forwards into the bridge, his huge suit of armour barely fitting through the entrance. He could hear the sounds of blaster fire outside of the bridge, but knew that they had succeeded now. As soon as he re-activated the ships controls the suits would register the success, clear their simulated damage and the battle droids would revert to passive mode.
He saw slick out of the corner of his eye twist around and cover the door. Raziel looked forwards, and his eyes widened slightly at the sight in front of him. Two bodies were slumped on the consoles and the bridge was splattered with blood. The other Zero-G suits rumbled forwards and came to a halt besides him.
"What in the Emporer's name happened here?" Revan asked and Raziel could hear a tremble of fear in his voice.
"I'd have thought that would have been obvious by now," Raziel replied reassuringly. "This ship must have been attacked by a Separatist boarding party, much like the way we're training to do now. Obviously the attack went well," Though in his own mind Raziel wasn't so sure. Whilst the first body had an obvious blaster mark on his forehead, the second had his throat ripped out. That wasn't the work of any droids he knew.
"Right lets get this show going . . ." Raziel continued. His suit extended a connection and tapped into the bridge's control console like an astromech droid would. An interface showed up in Raziel HUD and he worked to restore power to the ship. After bypassing a few emergency procedures the squad was greeted by the hum of activity. Screen consoles lit up all around them as the ship powered up all systems.
The words "MISSIONS COMPLETE: Reverting from training to active status." Lit up in each of their HUD's. Zar's suit powered back up and he rose to full height.

"Well that wasn't pleasant," Zar sighed.
"Shouldn't have got shot so much then," Jakireth replied as he re-entered the bridge, the droids must have already powered down.
Before any of them could say another word the lights, which had only just turned on, switch off. They were replaced by a sinister red glow of emergency lighting and a computerised voice blared out:
"Emergency Defences Activated: Weapons powered, Hull stabilised, Bridge controls disabled!"
"Ok what was that about!?" Revan shouted, twisting back and forth within his suit.
"Calm! I need calm!" Raziel shouted suddenly, cutting out all chatter. "Ok some emergency procedures were put in place before the ship went into hibernation mode. We cant deactivate it from here I'm afraid." He said as he read out the information scrawling across his screen.
"Sir, can we just breech the hull and make our way back to the assault shuttle now?" Jakireth asked.
"No, unfortunately not. The exterior turrets have been power up, I'm afraid we'd get blasted away if we tried to leave the ship now. The procedure can be changed from the engine room though. Right lets take a moment to thin things out. Hellra can you go through the ships archives and try and see what happened here. The rest of you, plug your suits into the nearest terminal and recharge your suits, looks like we could be stuck here for a while!"

Back on the assault shuttle . . .
    "Sir, we're being targeted!"
"Shields up, evasive action!" The shuttles bridge was suddenly bustling with activity. Warning lights flared all around and klaxons blared. Then Jon walked onto the bridge, seemingly oblivious to the panic around him.
"Crewman," he said, addressing the shuttle pilot.
    "Yes?"
"You did carry out my order to stay out of the cruisers range, just in case such a situation occurred?"
    "Yes, sir."
"Is the attack cruiser moving to intercept us?"
"No sir, its engines haven't powered up, but its weapons have powered up and we've been targeted!"
"Then would you care to calm down as we are in no risk?"
    "Sir,"
"Right carry on as you were, if the Cruiser fires up its engines, fall back to a safe distance and inform me." Jon walked away from the pilot to the advisor who had reported to him on the missing droids. Lowering his voice he said:
"Did you calculate the ships route?"
"No, sir," the corporal replied in hushed tones. "The information regarding the ships discovery were locked in an intelligence secure file."
"Right, because I couldn't find the Intel officer. Does this all strike you as odd?"
    "Sir?"
"The intel officer comes to us, and offers us the use of this ship for a training exercise, and yet the files on where and when it was discovered are encrypted to the highest access levels?" Jon asked. his assistant merely nodded. "Right you keep digging and I'll see where our fried has hidden himself,"

"Raz, I've found something!" Hellra shouted. The squad crowded around her and looked at the large display screen in front of her. "I've found some of the last log files from the ships last journey. They're heavily encrypted so they're coming out one at a time." Before Raziel had any time to reply the face of a Clone Trooper filled the screen in front of them and began talking.
"This is Sergeant Fk-99 reporting on recon mission 13-k-06. We have come under attack. The Droids came at us fast, there weren't enough ships to directly engage us, so they launched boarding parties that got through our defences. My men are holding them as long as they can, but we're being overwhelmed by Destroyer Droids. My men will do what we can to push them back. We have activated emergency defence protocol 9, the ship should automatically defend itself from any more separatist ships now, as most of the naval staff are dead. If the droids reach the bridge I will activate the self-distrust protocol." The screen went blank.
"Ok that's all of it," Hellra said.
"Well I guess that explains the situation, obviously they didn't have time to self destruct and the droids abandoned the ship." Jakireth said.
"Makes sense to me," Raziel said. "Hellra, Zar, stay here and try and dig up any more log files. Jak, Slick, Revan, come with me. We'll go to the engine room and deactivate this defence protocol.

Raziel lead the group down the length of the ship, his laser cannon held out ahead of him. Somehow the corridors seemed fair more eerie when bathed in this dull red light than when they had been completely dark. They passed many droids on the way down, all of them limp, deactivated. They turned a corner and all of them stopped dead.
A mesh of durasteel plates blocked their path, fused together in a hap-hazard way. However a gaping hole had been gauged out through the middle.
"Looks like someone tried to make a stand here," Revan observed.
"Yeah, but not successfully, but this doesn't look like the work of droids!" Jak replied. Blood and gore we visible just beyond the barrier, splattered around.
"Jak, Revan, hold here. Slick come forwards with me, I don't like this."
Raziel moved forward cautiously, trying to make out anything in the dim red light. His own torches fully illuminated an area two metres in front of him and it was only when he moved closer that he could see just how much blood there was. He ducked down to enter through the gap in the barrier. On the other side it was even worse. Bodies were strewn about, and a repeater rifle had been abandoned.
"Looks like the defenders were clone troopers, and they fell back from here . . ." Slick started.
"Shhh!" Raziel ordered. His senses were tingling, something was out of place . . .

"Ah I've got it!" Hellra shouted to Zar back on the bridge.
    "The last logs?"
    "Yes, got them all."
    "Go on then, play them."
One again the face of the Clone trooper filled the screen and he began talking.
"We used EMP bombs and successfully cleared the ship of droids. The last of them have been rounded up and we've turned the ship around for the nearest safe port. However when we used the EMP bombs near the bridge some circuits were fried and the emergency protocols are somehow stuck on. Whilst we have full control of the ship we cant restore lighting and the ship automatically targets any other vehicles in the area. We have communications however and I'm confident we can resolve the issue when we get back to port." The Log ended. Hellra turned to Zar with a confused expression. If the droids had been beaten . . . The next log started.
"Whilst making a detour we inadvertently passed through a meteor shower. Some life forms seem to have attached themselves onto the Hull. I've sent some men out to find out what they are. Probably just some space parasites." The log ended only for a moment before the next one played.
"I've now lost two squads of men and I am still unaware of what these creatures are! Somehow they're pierced the hull and have moved inside, they've locked onto power cables and seem to be feeding. I've organised a massive offensive to try and clear them out."
In the next log file to previously calm Clone trooper seemed panicked: "By the Force I don't think we can hold them off for long! These terrible terrible creatures have ripped my men apart, everything we try to stop them fails!! Blasters aren't very effective, side arms less so, only concentrated fire seems to have any effect! These creatures must have been spawned by some unholy god, I have seen them myself, they move with the speed of a Jedi and the ferocity of a rancor, we cant even use the escape pods as our own ship would target us!" Hellra and Zar's eyes widened in horror. In the final log file it was obvious that it had been recorded from a different location.
"We're had to abandon the bridge, there are few of us left now! We used whatever we can to barricade the engineering bay, but I think we've made a mistake, they want to feed on the ships power source I think. I have only a few men left now, all the rest have been massacred. We can hear them outside all of the time, they are waiting, amassing outside our barricades, preparing to finish us. Oh no, here they come!" The Clone troopers face left the screen but the log continued. There was the sound of blaster fire, men shouting. Then there was an inhuman scream that turned Zar's stomach. There were some human screams, some terrible gory sounds . . .and then the log finished.
Hellra and Zar turned to each others. Pure terror etched across their faces. "The others!" the both said at once.

Raziel signalled for Slick to hold back. He continued cautiously alone, searching ahead of him with his lights. There were no more bodies up here, just scorch marks from blaster fire along the walls. Other pieces of barricade lay sprawled about, as if used to slow down an enemies approach. Perhaps it was just the Clone soldiers last defence against Droid soldiers that had left long ago . . . And yet his pulse was racing and beads of sweat were running down his face. He felt like he was being watched.
He looked up for a moment and scanned his light across the ceiling. A panel was missing, and behind it something was looking back out at him.
He reacted quickly, that was all that saved his life. Something dark and terrible shot out at him from above. He felt something connect with his shoulder, and heard Slick shout in surprise. He fired his laser cannon at point blank range into the things body and felt it leap away off of him. His suit stumbled backwards, as Slicks laser bolts soared past him down the corridor.
"What in the Force was that?" Slick yelled.
"What's going on up there?" Jakireth asked into his comms.
"Did you see the size of that thing?" Slick yelled.
"It's still up ahead, I can see it moving! Run! Run!" Raziel shouted. Both him and slick turned. They thundered past the barricade and out towards Jakireth and Revan.
"Run!" he repeated, and Jak and Rev did likewise. They didn't look back all the way to the bridge.

Hellra moved to intercept them as the rushed into the bridge, but Raziel interrupted her. "Jak, shut all the exits to this bridge, get Zar, Rev and Slick in defensive positions. Raziel looked down at his suits shoulder. There was a wide gash in the armour, whatever that thing had been it was strong enough to easily rip through the densest durasteel.
"Sir!" Hellra shouted. But then she saw the look of fear in Raziel's eyes. "You found them?" she asked.
"What did you find out?" he asked. Using some old techniques to try and slow down his racing heart.
"Sir, they crew weren't wiped out by droids, they beat off the droids. Something else got on board and killed them!"
"Show me!" he commanded, and she quickly replayed the Clone troopers logs to them all. When they were finished Raziel was silent for almost a minute, stunned.
    "Sir?"
"So there's more than one of them . . ."His voice trailed off for a second, before he snapped back to reality. "Jak any signs?"
"No sir, we don't seem to have been followed."
"Right time to discuss our options," Raziel said.
"Sir, I don't think we have any," Jakireth interrupted. "We can't leave the ship, we can't stay on this ship. . ."
"I'd rather take on the ships turrets than see another one of those," Slick said.
"Quiet. Cut the chat!" Raziel shouted. "If we don't deactivate the turrets we have zero chance of getting off this ship. That leaves two options. One: we head for the engine bay and we deactivate the turrets and leave. Two: we wait here, defend ourselves and hope for some kind of evacuation."
    "Sir?" Zar said.
    "Yes?"
"The Clone troopers tried to just barricade themselves in and defend themselves. They didn't even come close to surviving and there were many more of them than there are us."
"Granted, but spacetrooper suits are armed more as much as ten Clone troopers."
    "But still sir . . ."
"I see your point Zar," Raziel conceded.

The squad deliberated over the decision for a while, but there seemed to be an even split. Three for staying and defending the bridge, three for trying to get to the engine bay. Before they could continue on, Hellra interrupted them all.
    "Sir, we're receiving a transmission!"
"It must be the shuttle, bring it up!"
But instead of Jon's smiling face, they were greeting with the grim features of an Imperial Intelligence officer.
"Good day Raiders. By now I'm sure that you all have discovered your present situation. I regret to inform you that your mission has changed."
    "Where is Jon?" Raziel replied.
"I'm afraid the shuttles crew have been suspended from duty, you will liaise with me from now on. Your mission has change. You will bring back a relatively intact specimen of the creatures on board the cruiser and you will be evacuated. Those are your new mission parameters. Show the specimen to me on this screen and I will organise your retrieval.
"You used us?" Raziel said, raising his voice.
" You will bring back a relatively intact specimen of the creatures on board the cruiser and you will be evacuated," repeated the intel officer and the transmission was terminated.
"Damnit!" shouted Raziel and he brought his laser cannon arm down hard into a nearby console.
"Sir, it might be easier to get one of those things than take them all on?" Zar suggested.
"Let me make this clear. Under no circumstance are we going to make any deals or bargains or take any orders from that snivelling piece of intel trash! Am I clear?" There was no reply.
"Right then, what are we going to do."
"I have an idea," Jakirath said, looking at the ship's layout. "That Clone trooper said that the creatures liked feeding off the ships power cables,"
    "Yes?"
"Well if that's the case we could move down to the very base of the ship, move through the fighter bays, and come up into the engine bay from underneath. That would avoid most of the power supplies."
"Excellent," Raziel replied. "I don't think we have any better plans? I guess we move out."

In all of his time in the Empire, private first class Slick had never felt as much fear as he did now. It seized his insides, and gripped his heart in it's icy clutches. Just the thought of that thing was enough to make him sick. The fear threatened to overwhelm him, and put his sanity on the line. He looked at all the others around him, and saw his own thoughts reflected on everyone's face. Raider squad was now preparing for the greatest battle... the battle for their lives.

Raziel looked at his troops, and gave a small, sad smile. "Everyone ready?"

Turning to face him, Slick replied, "Hell no! but let's get to it. I'll take point."

With that decided Slick walked to the door. Very slowly he stuck his head out, and glanced around. He silently cursed the red emergency lights... the lights made visability poor. Seeing nothing he motioned to the rest of the squad. As Slick stepped out into the corridor, Hellra, and Revan were close behind him.

If the abandoned ship was scary the first time through... it was terrifying now. In the dim red light, the lifeless droids could be seen. If those things are smart... they could be hiding behind the droids bodies Slick thought to himself. He quickly banished those thoughts however. It scared him to much to even think about it. Their footsteps echoed down the corridor as they walked.

"Slick?"

"Yeah? What is it kid?" Slick answered as he walked.

"I'm terrified right now." said Revan with a slight tremble in his voice.

"I am too... but we're going to get out of this. You might even get a medal for it!" said Slick, and Revan gave a small laugh.

As they came to the end of the corridor, they found a ladderwell that led to the lower deck. Slick glanced back at Raziel, and the squad leader nodded. Looking into the well, Slick grimaced. Little could be seen from his vantage point, and the fear threatened to grip him once more.

"Alright... Revan you're with me. We're going to scout ahead, and make sure the area is clear." Slick said with a grin that he didn't feel.

Revan nodded slowly. Slick activated his cutting laser for a quick melee weapon, and started down. It was an awful thing to have to turn his back to the floor, and with everystep he waited to feel razor sharp teeth tear into his body. As his feet touched the floor he turned, and waited for Revan to join him. Within seconds Revan had joined him, and they continued down the corridor.

Hellra's hands were covered in cold sweat inside her suit. Her lungs were choking in fear while her face was paling.  In front of her Revan and Slick was stalking the dim corridors while alarms blared as if the world was ending, which it was for her.

They just got down to the first phase of their journey down to the ship's below.
Shivers crept up her spine, her finger ready to pull the trigger any moment. The silence hung thick in the air. The Raiders could dimly make out the clattered sounds of something or things scrambling through the ship. The Raiders unconsciously formed in a tighter group except for Slick and Revan who were scouting in front.

Her face was illuminated in a dark red light, with darker tinted shadows thrown across the bridge of her nose and eyes.  They stopped abruptly as they neared a corner. Cautiously Revan poked around the wall, but doubled back, his back slammed against the wall. He was breathing fast.

"I think it saw me, I think it saw---"
Hellra could hear Revan was on the point of hyperventilating.  Hellra made her way towards his side while Slick also poked around the corner.
"Rev I will take your place for now, " suggested Hellra in a gentle tone to Revan. He nodded silently.

"Ok Rev--" Slick stopped when he saw Hellra was standing in Revan's place.
"Anyway, looks like we can continue down this corridor. Looks like there is a shaft we can use to skip to the next ship level," said Slick.
"Maybe we should just use the shafts, there are almost no power cables, except air conditioning" suggested Hellra.
"Our suites is to big Hell" came Jakireth's voice over her comlink.
"Oh, ya, forgot about that," said Hellra nervously. Her mind was running out off ideas for their situation.
"Lets just keep moving for now" ordered Raziel.

They were walking silently yet cautiously down the corridor. The blaring of alarm became part of the motion to them. The red lights that was flickering, throwing them in darkness, or illuminating them were cutting out. Sparks bursted from the wall as the 'things' gnawed their way through power.
The lights finally gave a final flicker before cutting leaving them in darkness, on a ship that was drifting aimlessly around in the dark corners of space.

Darkness surrounded them. A few seconds' later lights flashed in circles against the walls, the joy of wearing the suites.  The walls that were displayed in red alert lights were now a ghostly white and grey whenever their flashlights illuminated the designated targets on the walls and floor.

"What now?" asked Slick in a hushed voice. No one replied, the silence hung thick in the air. The ship itself sounded alive as the distant sounds of sparks, and small crashes accompanied with explosions echoed through the empty halls and corridors.

"Keep going, next turn on your left Hellra" ordered Raziel. His voice was firm and loud giving a silent sense of security and spirit for the scared troopers. Hellra carefully and slowly started trudging on the tiled floor down the corridor, Slick and the rest of the squad shortly afterwards.

"Speed up guys" said Jakireth over his comlink. They soon understood as the alien sound of the 'things' increased their intensity.
"Don't they chase power?" asked Hellra all of a sudden as she sped up.
The force of her question the squad hard.
"Guys, I think we are in major crap, we have power suites" stated Revan the obvious.
"You figured that all by your self?" asked Hellra rather out of character.

Jakireth's head snapped this.
"No need for sarcasm now Hellra" warned Jakireth as he strode to her side.
"Fine" mumbled Hellra, her eyes darted around the whole time never ceasing, never resting. She took a sharp turn to the left as Raziel ordered earlier. She stopped for a few seconds and flashed her light down the corridor. It didn't bounce against the opposite end of the coridor.

Slick look up bewildered as he heard something scratching above him. They were standing direct under airshafts. And at the moment they were burning volts and power at an unbelievable rate.

"Maybe we should power down for a few minutes people," suggested Slick nervously,
"We power down, we don't have the strength to fight them off, we stay like we are currently and they will stalk us" mumbled Hellra. Everyone looked at Raziel expectantly, awaiting his next order.
He stood still for a few second while the sound gnawing and scratching suddenly sounded.

"Run"
It was a simple three-letter word, but it was enough to set them off literally running for their lives through the corridor as part of the airshaft gave way under the 'thing's' gnawing. The duratseel clattered against the floor, but the reptile-like thing ignored it as he flew towards his victims.

Raziel readied himself in a split second and slammed his back against the wall letting the 'thing' pass. He aimed his blaster quickly. Blasts sounded as small droplets of blood splattered against the wall and his armour.

But the wounds didn't seem to stop it, as it went direct for Raziel's face this time with the goal of eliminating him. It never got the chance as a trooper's hand grabbed it for a few split seconds and pulled it back. It coiled around to face the assaulter and sank his teeth in the glove-covered hands.

Jakireth screamed in pain as electricity short-circuited through his arm due to the damage inflicted. Seconds after, he felt the razor teeth grazing his numbed hand.
The rest of the squad was shooting furiously at the 'thing' now; scorch marks littered the floor and walls, accompanied with blood.

It let go Jakireth's hand quickly to attack its new assaulters but it became confused at how many there were. It fell to the ground with a high-pitched squeal emitting from its mouth.  Everyone stared in shock at the small creature for a few seconds.

"I think that was plead for help, the thing cried," commented Slick.
"Means, the other knows where it is, they must be honed on each other movements," stated Raziel.
"At least we have found a weakness" said Hellra while she inspected Jakireth's hand, smoke was emitting from the damaged gloves, and the gashes seared around the wrist, destroying his HUD screen and ComLink.

"Weakness?" asked Zar confused, his shock wearing off.
"When we attack together on one of them they become confused and don't know where to attack," answered Jakireth through clenched teeth.

"I suggest we movein groups of three now people, keep your eyes open" ordered Raziel raising blaster, determination set in his voice.

Revan, Slick, and Zar went into one group, as Hellra, Jakireth, and Raziel went in the other.

"Go very slowly, and keep your eyes peeled for any movement." Ordered Raziel.

The Squad accepted the order and moved on. Zar, Slick, and Revan were on the Left Side while the Rest was on the Right. They went a few yards till another creature came by and attacked Slick this time.

"Watch it Slick, it is another one, and Blast the "thing" now!" yelled Revan to Slick. The Squad Lined up and rapidly fired at the "thing". They took one down and another came.

"Here they come again," said Raziel.

"Now they have done enough damage!" yelled Revan.

Hellra and Jakireth fired at the one of "things". Slick and Zar were hammering them rapidly, but accurate as possible. Revan and Raziel were firing at the"thing's" neck.

"Aim at the necks it paralyzes them enough time to get a few shots in the head!" yelled Revan.

The Squad fired at the necks then at the head of the "things". The Squad finished up the fight moved on and went down the hall with normal discussion of the fight and the victory.

"We sure showed them, didn't we?" asked Revan.

"Yep for sure they know who is boss for now right, Raziel?" agreed Zar.

"For now but it has just started. The Corridor should soon be coming up,"replied Raziel

But then few more of the 'things' came and the Squad fired so accurately but notso fast it was too long. Revan took down 3, and then Raziel took down 1. It was going so slow the things could come with reinforcements but they didn't. Revan had a feeling that could only be described as horrific, nerve breaking, and he was having sweat beads by 5cm roll down his fore-head. Raziel and Jakireth noticed it and kept to them selves until the fight was over. The Squad at the end picked up by x5.

" You ok, Jakireth and I saw sweat just rolling down?" Raziel asked Revan.

"I am just so nervous with these things coming out of nowhere and I fear that I am going to die, you know the feeling, I have the determination,
pride, and the adrenaline. It is just so damn frustrating between fighting and the nervousness." Revan Replied

"It will be okay trooper, Hang Tight we will get you through this no matter what is in our way!" Jakireth said.
Raziel and Jakireth both nodded in agreement of what Revan said.
By the time they were done fighting and talking they advanced to the end of the Corridor already.

"Boy does things go quickly." mumbled Revan.

Even though blood was splattered against their armour, and pieces of charcoal burned meat clung to their heavy boots the squad gave one big group hug, their armour- covered arms gripped each other around the shoulders. It was a bit difficult with the big armour, but it was a moment of silent spirit and comfort.

Their moment was soon broken when squeals filled the air. The small war that took place a few seconds, it was then  only the offspring still developing. Raziel immediately backed Jakireth, with Hellra backing him. They could the things speeding down the corridors towards them

Back to back the two groups sped towards the end of the corridor. Raziel's eye caught the ladder he saw on his map that lead down to another deck.
"Hellra, how bout you and Rev give another grenade show?" asked Raziel in a hushed voice. Hellra nodded and motioned Revan to get his proton grenade while she got EMP grenade. She loves the EMP grenade.

While the squad quickly climbed down the ladder Hellra readied her EMP to throw it at the 'thing's as most of the squad dubbed it. Dimly she could make their dragon like heads out through the darkness. With hesitation she threw the EMP and scrambled down the ladder, while Revan readied his explosive. They were going to blast this ladder's entrance out of commission, and he intended to take a few 'things' down with it as well.

Hellra and the squad waited worriedly for Revan to get down the ladded. He soon came with the explosive still in his hand. He ignored their confused looks as he carefully placed it on the second highest step of the ladder.

'Run!" he ordered as he activated it on a timer. The squad didn't need to ask twice and blindly dove in the next level. Raziel took the first left turn he could find, and pulled the squad to a halt behind it. Revan joined them seconds later. They waited in a tense silence for the explosion. The 'things' that survived Hellra's EMP have already made their way to the ladder. Just then an explosion shook through the corridor. It's shockwave rippled outwards destroying another part of the corridor, sealing entrance to the top level from that part of the ship.

"Well, nice training we have" commented Hellra dryly as she checked to see if she still had EMP grenades left.
Raziel shook his head at her comment and looked at his map.
"We are moving to slow, there must be hundreds of levels still to go before we can get out. We have to cover more ground " said Slick worriedly. His back was pressed against the walls, his blaster rifles ready for anything that might come their way.

"How good are the shock proof on these suites?" asked Helra to Raziel since Jakireth had no way of communicating to them, except if he tried shouting through his suite to them.

"Pretty good, why?" asked Raziel.
"We would cover dozen of levels if we go down to the elevator shafts. I believe all of the evaluators are at the top, so they wont prove to be a obstacle when we jump down the shaft" suggested Hellra.
"What! You mean jump a few hundred meters down?" asked Zar clearly not very comfortable with this.
"Whatt about the power cables?" asked Revan. He gripped his blaster tightly.
"That's a risk we have to take, but I am beginning to believe they would corner us on hour way down at the speed we are going now, all I will do while falling is dropping EMP grenades, Rev could also drop a few Proton, it clears the way at least."

The squad looked in amazement at Hellra fr suggesting something so risky and crazy.
"She has a point, we are moving to slow," agreed Raziel. He quickly looked down at his map again.
"Nearest shaft around the next corner on the right" he said seconds later. They tensed suddenly when something dropped in the middle of their circle. The squad looked at the power-eating creature. It had a malicious smile. Like one man they raised their blasters and aimed it at the 'thing'. Hellra could have sworn she saw it's face turn to fear, making it look almost cute. They pulled the trigger on their blasters.

"Anyway, there must be dozens of them in the shafts" pointed Slick out.
"Well, that's part of life, and come on, it's going to be fun," said Hellra almost mischievously.
"Hellra, it may be fun for you, but do think of the lives involved, and not just your own" stated Raziel.
"But she does have one point, reaching the turrets is taking to long. We only have limited power left for our suites, squad move, shafts now!" ordered Raziel sharply.

They reached the elevator door without any assaults and attacks miraculously. They forced the doors open with little difficulty. Revan quickly threw a explosive down the shaft, soon followed by an EMP by Hellra.

"That should clear the path for a few meters, go guys, remember these suites have flight control but we want speed, so we are simply free falling" ordered Raziel.
"Wait, wait" stopped Hellra.
"What now Hell?" asked Zar tiredly.
"Rev, you and I go down first, since we are dropping grenades every now and then, we don't want to kill one of own accidentally, and remember these creatures can and will attack from ANY direction, so look out for your heads" ordered Hellra to Revan.

He nodded silently. Hellra took a swift leap through the doors down the shaft soon followed by Revan. The rest of the squad jumped after shortly, Raziel and Jakireth the last to go.

The area around the squad was in shambles. Tattered durasteel panes littered the floor, and electrical wires popped and ran wild with raw energy. The entire ship was mangled in this way as well, some parts destroyed even further; mostly by the rampant confusion and anger of the unknown creatures that had cursed the inhabitants of the Cruiser.

Jakireth looked around in a combination of disgust, and wild fury. Even with the bodies of the enemy piled on the ground beneath them, it was still a twisted massacre that not even the Rebels deserved. The report to be written on this event could probably even be published with the likes of a horror story...

With the action that took place a few minutes back, Jakireth was left with a massive gash on the backside of his arm, and no communication with the rest of his troopers. The fact that he didn't have to speak of anything much didn't bother him, besides, he needed some time to think; but if his suit hadn't predicted the damage and sealed another layer of material underneath the main one, his lungs would have literally combusted inside of him.
Death was almost certainly on everyone's minds, with the insane thoughts of fighting off the abnormally large monsters only minutes behind them. Jakireth wished he could at least offer some encouraging words to the Raiders, he could tell that morale was on the fall. Soldiers can only take so much, and this amount of chaos reinforces that.

Jakireth was still in a dazed state when a comment by Zar shook him awake, effectively tossing him back into the grip of reality: "What! You mean jump a few hundred meters down?" The terror in Zar's voice was almost humorous, like a child looking up at the tallest entertainment ride at one of the amusement areas on Coruscant.
Smiling, the ASL realized what was being suggested. To provide a battery for faster coverage, the Raiders were to 'fly' down the access shafts.
"Ooooooh..." He thought, "like a testosterone driven dream you only think of at the Academy". This made him fall into a little fit of laughter, and surprisingly, it felt good.
Raziel looked over at the grin on his face and couldn't help but smile back.

Jakireth was finally able to put a straight face back on when a grenade went off about 15 meters down the nearest shaft, and Hellra darted down after it.
Raziel shot him a look that was obviously laced with excitement.
"Jak, let's hit this..."

With that, the two made a hasty move for the shaft. The rest had already gone, with Revan and Zar stumbling over the edge. Raziel and Jak, however, had to go in style. Since Raziel was so close to him in their sprint, he could make out a few words to him:
"Strike a pose!"

The recoil from the recent grenade detonation rattled the squad, literally shaking some of them off course. It seemed that Revan was constantly bumping into walls, and Zar was using the opportunity to complete acrobatic spinning moves.
Jakireth could tell they were moving at incredible speed, and the levels were almost going past 3 at a time for every 5 seconds that went past. He knew they needed to make it to the engineering section, but didn't want to wait for that level to come up...

Using his good arm, Jakireth slammed him fist into Raziel's back; motioning him to slow his decent, and instruct the others to do so as well. He wasn't sure if using his maneuvering thrusters so close to his squadmates was the least bit safe, but a little ash on their suits wouldn't kill anyone. He grinned widely and fell back about 20 meters, using his magnetic clamps to lock onto the area closest to the elevator door he was positioned by.

It took a few moments for the others to catch up, but they eventually were all situated by the massive durasteel blast door Jakireth had pointed out.

Clearing his throat, Jak almost screamed through his helmet, trying to get the point across:
"Engineering should be 5 levels below us. I checked the Cruiser schematics before we went down the shaft. I thought we might gain the element of surprise if we move down a few levels above, so the creatures won't be able to communicate our position. Not to mention, the main engineering section would be crawling with the damned beasts..."

As the others took time to ponder the idea, Jakireth and Raziel lit their respective plasma torches.
Working in unison, they adjusted the tinting feature on their helmet displays and started blazing through the passage.

For the next two lengths of corridor Raziel had his hand gripping the trigger mechanism sop tightly he began to get cramp. His finger wavered, shakily, over the firing button. For those, seemingly eternal, moments when the squad paused to cut through wreckage his heart was in his mouth. Yet still, they did not come.
As they dropped down the next few floors they could all hear movements around them. They were all just sounds that the ship was creating, but Revan still firing once at a sparking wire.
Whilst Raziel silently reprimanded Revan, and paused to listen for sounds of the creatures, he noticed that there was no artificial gravity down here in the bowels of the ship. Signalling the squad, his switched off his boots electromagnets and floated into the air. Using their thrusters the squad manoeuvred down the hallways with much greater speed. Raziel was more relieved that they were no longer stomping around noisily.

"Fighter bays," Jakrieth whispered into his comm unit. The squad approached a huge set of blast doors. On the other side, they all knew, would be a huge maintenance bay filled with ARC fighters and bombers suspended from the ceiling. Raziel couldn't shake the image of thousands of aliens writhing around in one huge mass from his head.
"Open it!" Raziel ordered, and the rest of the squad lined up behind the doors, weapon arms aiming dead ahead. The door shuddered open to reveal . . . nothing. Just a huge empty bay, with a few fighters on the ground. Raziel couldn't recognised the ships, but they seemed to be some kind of scout ships, which would fit seeing as the cruiser had been on a recon mission.
Raziel floated up into the air, the bay was around sixty feet high, and getting off the ground would put space between himself and any hiding aliens. The rest of the squad did likewise, slowly lifting up gracefully.
"Right, map says we're just a few levels below engineering now, we could cut our way up, but that would probably gather attention . . .we need an alternative route . . ." Suddenly Raziel was cut off.
"Watch it now!" Jak shouted in warning. The squad twisted around to see one of the creatures slither though the blast door they had opened. Despite the lack of gravity it seemed able to grip onto the floor.
"Stay still!" Raziel hushed. It was strange, watching the creature from a safe distance. It didn't have the same element of fear as it did marching through a dark, narrow corridor.
The creature was soon joined by a pair of others. Maybe they had been trailing the squad for a while. The creatures slid forwards, but seemed unaware of the squad above them. They seemed confused by the lack of prey.
Then somehow they sensed the squad, with a gut wrenching screech the first one alerted the others, all three turned up to look at the squad.
"Hold you fire!" Raziel said. The squad was out of reach and he wanted to see how they would react. One of them drew itself up to it's full height, coiling its tail beneath it. Realising what it was doing slick cried out:
"Watch it!" The creature launched itself upwards, rocketing towards them. The squad used their thrusters and spread out. The alien passed between them, but lashed it with its three pronged tail as it passed, almost catching Revan.
Worse still several more creatures were sliding into the room and the other two prepared to launch themselves at the squad. Looking up - or was it down, Raziel couldn't tell he saw the first alien attach itself to the roof and prepare to go again.
"Hellra, Revan, Slick keep moving, try to keep them distracted, remember they cant manoeuvre in mid air and we can. Jak, Zar come with me, we'll get that door closed!"
An alien launched itself at Raziel, giving him a split second to react. He lurched to the side, activating his cutting laser, before the tail could swipe him, he sliced the creature's head neatly in half with the laser. The dead body carried on, rebounding off the far wall. The sound of laser cannon filled the air and yet more aliens came sliding through the doors. Against the flow of aliens, three of the Raiders pressed forwards, realising they would have to get closer to the creatures to reach the door controls  . . .

"Merde" cursed Hellra under breath, her rapid fire never slowing or ceasing. She glanced over at her shoulder to see how the rest of the squad was holding out. It was that one glance that resulted in a fatal mistake.

One of the creatures jumped with a precise agility at her. If it wasn't for Jakireth who rushed at her with an alarming speed, the 'thing' as she has dubbed it might have killed her by means of smashing her glass-like helmet.

Jakireth crashed into her, forgetting how strong his suit's flight control was. They crashed downwards towards the door's control pad, the creature that tried attacking Hellra gone from the air.

Hellra swore she heard something crack when her back made a not so gentle connection on the control pads.
"CLOSE THE DOORS!" yelled the rest of the squad in their comlink at Hellra and Jakireth though his were broken. They were blasting feverously at the door trying to keep the beasts at bay while giving Hellra and Jakireth a chance to close the doors.

Hellra turned around clumsily, but shot up quick enough when she felt something, or rather a lot of things tugging on her suite. To her horror she discovered that several small ones has latched them selves on her and Jakireth. Luckily their parents were 'occupied' with Raziel, Slick and Zar. Their teeth wasn't fully developed but enough to cause damage after a while.

Jakireth quickly rached behind her back and deactivated the doors but not before another creature on wriggled it's way in. But before it was half way in the doors snapped around it shut, slicing it in half. For a fleet second Hellra wanted to laugh, the whole situation was funny to her suddenly.

She and Jakireth were entangled in each other, trying to get organized again, while baby creatures were teething on them, Raziel who forgot to turn his comlink off was muttering curses under his breath, and Slick and Revan were trying to see how many they have killed.
"Hell grow up, and get back up here," ordered Raziel sharply as if sensing Hellra's strange urge for laughter

After a few split seconds she and Jakireth managed to sort out their entangled mess, and joined their squad back in the air, though there wasn't much left to do.
As Slick cursed the last remaining one with death the Raiders gathered again.
"Sir, I have a suggestion what we could do" chipped Hellra in before Raziel could even speak or open his mouth.

"We have ships here," she said, her hands waving wildly around pointing to the ships in the empty bay.

I mean here is some ships we could use to get off the ship, and I am sure we can find an way to open the bay's outer doors. I suggest we use these ships to escape, while the things still haven't got a decent chance to penetrate the doors, although they might come down the shafts again, " she continued in a very fast voice.

Raziel looked at her, his face laden with an unreadable expression. Hellra gave a nervous grin, not sure how practical her suggestion might prove.

"Whilst not a bad idea for a quick escape I'm afraid that according to those memo's the ship is automatically targetting all external targets. If we can't get to engineering and shut off the power then it'll probably be our best option," Raziel paused for a moment. "Though if we took a ship each i reckon only one, maybe two, of us would make it through." Raziel stopped talking and looked at the ships around them, so close, yet so far. He realised that they didnt actually have any real proof that the ship's weapons, only the ships computers assurances that anything within range would get blasted.

A crash behind him, made Zar jump. He caught his suits controls and lurched forwards. Raziel reacted immediately, twisting in mid-air, bringing his rifle to bear on the blast doors.
"By the Emporer they're coming through!" Jak shouted. Sure enough a slight indentation revealed the source of the noise. There was another crash and another dent was added to the door.
"Fall back!" Raziel shouted. The squad maneouvered its way down to the ground and thundered for the door. Raziel backpedalled, his eyes on the blast door opposite them. A three-pronged tail pierced the door, the tail dissapeared from view to be replaced with an eyeless face. Raziel wated no time in firing, he couldn't tell whether he had hit, but the next moment there was no face in the breach and the area was scorched.
"Go! Go!" he shouted, his voice beginning to tremble.
In a moment Revan was through the door, then Hellra. Raziel continued to backpedal slowly, still several metres from the door.
Soon nothing could be heard over the noise of the blast doors being hammered constantly  and Raziel was still ten metres from the door. Soon another tail pierced the door, and another. Raziel kept his fingers held around the trigger and fired a constant stream of laser blasts. He couldnt see if he was even hitting something, just had to hope he was slowly them.
"They're cutting through a blast door! I mean a real, thick, blast door!" Jakireth shouted, just before he too walked through the door. Raziel silently cursed the Spacetrooper suits lack of ground speed.
His eyes opened with shock suddenly, without warning the huge, double blast doors began to slide open. He swore loudly into his comms, still firing constantly. They started to slither into the room, immediately making a beline for him. He was the last one in the room now, and fear threatened to overtake him. Despite years of combat and training, the sight of uncountable creatures rushing towards him unabated was almost enough to overcome him.
Still, he didnt panic. He thumbed the grenade control and launched two plasma rounds into the path of the creatures whilst his laser cannon fired. His HUD informed him that his cannon was close to overheating and that he had limited stock of grenades remaining. But then out of the corner of his eye he saw that frame of the door around him. Whilst he still fired the doors slid shut in front of him.

"Double seal this one!" Jak shouted. Raziel turned around to face his squad, seeing Zar at the door controls. A second set of blast doors slid down to cover the portal, but the banging sounds soon started.
"Well, what do we do now?" Revan shouted.
"Look, why don't we just do as the intel officer wanted. Head back to the bridge, pick up one of those creatures on the way and send out a signal too him?" Jak said.
"Bridge is that way," Raziel said plainly, indicating to small door behind them. He didn't much fancy trying to fight back through the hangards.

"This is what we're doing." Raziel said, cutting through all disagreements. Now was the time for descisive action, he figured. "We have three floors to go up to the engineering control station. It will be a large room, maybe twenty metres in all dimensions. We know the clone troopers made their last stand there, so  we need to be prepared to quickly cut through any barriers they made. The creatures seem to suckly on power cables, now the main power sources are around fifty metres to the rear of the control rooms, hopefully we wont be breaking open a nest of these creatures. All we have to do when we get there is access any console for a moment and deactivate all power across the ship. Failing that we will have to use explosives at the powercables running behind the control station, but that entails dealing with a nest full of these things. As soon as the power is down all we have to do is get off this hulk - By whatever means necessary. I mean it, as soon as that power is down get off this ship any way you can, run, cut, launch, anything. I suggest you don't head back down this way however." Another bang at the door behind him accuntuated his point.

"Now careful, as gravity may be restored a couple of levels up. Squad, move out!"

The squad quickly darted through the corridor with their clumsy space suits. Hellra muttered swear words in all languages she posses which was only basic.

They already covered two floors when they ran into luck finding an empty elevator shaft. However before they could reach the third floor, the creatures made them selves known with their loud shrills of screams. Least to say the Raiders literally escaped within an inch of their lives when they tumbled out of the elevator opening, and closed it just in time, seconds after that the creature started peeling through the small gaps they made in the durasteel door. It set the Raiders running without second thought.

Suddenly Hellra felt her self being jerked to the ground, the gravity returned it seemed. Hellra gave a large groan noticing that the Raiders somehow landed on each other and were busy detangling from each other. Just perfect, their situation weren't getting better. In a distance the primal battle roars of the creature shrieks and shrills reached their.

"Keep moving guys, we have one floor left!" she shouted in panic, the thought of being killed by such small creatures, or the risk of losing her oxygen terrifying her.
Quickly the Raiders composed themselves enough to get running again. Not used to the sudden gravity Hellra found her self-swaying to left and right with her suit, not able to control in it fully.

"A stair case!" shouted Revan's voice out excitedly. The Raiders turned instinctively to the direction of his finger. Raziel seemed to be contemplating whether they should take it or not. He didn't know the layout of the ship so well. This might be the only entrance to the upper floor in their area.

"Lets move guys"

They managed to find the control station, though as Raziel predicted, its was filled with a small nest of the creature, Hellra barely poked her head through the door before they hurled themselves at her, Raziel saved her life when he pulled her back rather harshly, damaging her suit in the process while Slick managed to find a way to shut the door again with only a few managing to escape. It was ironic how difficult they found it to kill one when the first encountered them, but now it was easier as they got more experienced.

"Any suggestions?" asked Raziel tiredly.  No one said anything for a few minutes though ideas started forming, inspired by the shrill battle screams of the creature that neared them. It echoed through the empty ship, bouncing in the walls and corners back to their ears.

"How about we throw a explosive in their, it would cause the control to short circuit killing the things, and maybe then we could find a way to shut the ships down, there is usually a emergency box in the control station, grenade won't damage that" suggested Hellra. Raziel frowned as he thought the suggestion over.

"I'm in for it" voted Slick,
"Same here" agreed Revan and Zar as well, Jakireth could only flail his arms around indicating his thoughts were mutual as his microphone in his headset were damaged.
"Lets do it then"

Shortly after they rid the room of the creature by means of explosives, they quickly and feverously looked through every nook and corner to find the power control box. Suddenly the ship darkened as Slick flipped the switch to off, a big grin settled on his face before his expression slackened again.

"We need to get off now!" he yelled, almost blasting him self in super speed to the door with his powered suit.
"Slick, better idea" said Hellra pointing to the window behind them.
