What did you hate the most of the Prequels

What was the one thing in the prequels you just couldn't stand?
For me it was how they tied in stuff like C-3PO and R2-D2 and Chewbacca. I found that so dumb. Why would you do it? Personally I'd have rather they come in randomly sometime else. -----------------------

But Yillis, the addition of C-3PO and R2-D2 was actually important. Threepio was built by Anakin Skywalker, Luke's father, and Artoo became property of Anakin as well. Then, after the Clone Wars, nineteen years in fact, they wind up in possesion of Luke, Anakin's son.
As for Chewbacca, well, he was like 200 years old in A New Hope, so he fit right in to the action on Kashyyyk. Plus, we got to see him in more action. -----------------------

Having Artoo and Threepio in it largely did pose a problem. Ben said. in A New Hope that he never recalls owning a pair of droids, but he was around them. But, I've also always loved Artoo so having him fry a few droids was all right to me. It added that little bit of comic relief. Otherwise the whole movie would have been completely dark, which would have been alright for some people...

My primary issue is the over-reliance on CGI to tell a story. Granted, we needed to see massive armies arrayed against one another. We wanted to see Yoda and R2 kicking ass. We secretly chuckled darkly when Maul lifted and separated down a shaft.
But did we *need* Jar-Jar Binks and his magical tongue? Or Anakin rustling up a herd of shaak?
My other is, of course, the stilted dialogue. We've all seen McGregor, Portman, and even Christensen act wonderfully with better scripts. Then again, we've seen Harrison Ford do the same, so it's not just a prequel issue.
All in all it comes down to one thing. George Lucas is a great visionary but a subpar scriptwriter/director dependent on technology to make up for his weaknesses. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as I certainly couldn't do his job. It does leave you wanting more, however. -----------------------

Like the stupid Jar-Jar Fanclub. I absolutely hated Jar-Jar so much, that I was willing to get a rifle and blow out the screen when I saw him. Of course, I didn't.
But one thing I didn't like about the Original Trilogy was the stormtroopers' bad aim. Obi-Wan says they're "accurate" after they find the sandcrawler on Tatooine, but he was most likely referring to the clone troopers that, at the time the movies were made, didn't exist. Then when we see the shootouts on the Death Star, they suck. Even when Han Solo runs into the stormtrooper crowd, only around five out of thousands of troopers in there start firing. And not one of them even bothered to chase him out down the corridors and shoot him.
How pathetic. -----------------------

which is why I prefer clone troopers over stormtroopers, stormtroopers are always considered as expendable random people wiht guns, they just out number everyone. But then again supposedly theyre the elite soldiers part of the greates army.... -----------------------

I think A New Hope was Lucas' original #1 in his mind. One point always indicated this to me. In ANH, Obi-Wan says at the beginning with C3P0 and R2-D2 in front of him, that: "I don't remember ever owning a droid." He also did not recognize the names as droids he had ever seen.
Yet, in the first 3, he certainly knows these droids and is consistently around them. -----------------------

#1 He never owned a droid.
#2 He had been living in the desert for a damn long time. So sue him if he didn't recognize two droids.
And Lucas had 1-6 written up, but due to his low budget, he didn't believe there was any way to make all six. So he started with IV because he believed it to be a better start than I.
Worst part. Hayden Christianson's dialogue.
Best part. Hayden Christianson whining like the little biatch he is. -----------------------

In I, II, and III, there seems to be alot more tech. in just seems like in IV, V, and VI tech. is primitive in a way.....  (I like clones over ST) -----------------------

Lucas actually had ideas for 9 episodes. there were also various attempts at getting a good storyline going in the begining, he once had Anakin Skywalker and Luke Starkiller as two jedi Knights protecting a queen. -----------------------

There was actually a website somewhere with some of the original drafts lucas came up with. Don't know if they were real (and no not feckin SS's website) but they tied in with what lucas said about his original ideas in the special edition DVD. -----------------------

#1) He wouldn't do Thrawn because its EU and not his idea (and God knows Lucas would never borrow ideas  )
#2) I think I've seen enough bad acting and ADD generation induced special effects to ruin SW for me.
#3) There would be no Darth Vader, so what would be the point?
#4) Mark Hamil, Carrie Fischer, Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams are WAAAAAAY to old to play Luke, Leia, Han and Lando.
Let's just leave SW be movie wise.
