You see my avater?
I just played around with the tools....that figure was originally obi wan kenobi, i added the back ground with a real picture of flames....my personal opinion is...you don't need much of a skill...okay so you do need a liitle bit, but you can build it up., its more about your imgination, cause with the right program the things you can do is endless. Your skill develops as you practise.
Also, don't just do the kinds of pics you like...do the types you dislike also, it gives you much more experiance since you would find it even more difficult, well thats how i see it.

Yeah, but I don't think programs that there are made specifically for avatars, ask Cosmic, I think he will know more about this than I do. Adobe Photoshop Premiere is used to edit photos, but I just use it for avatars...

I am getting the point, it will get better now. I switched my keyboards. I always hated the other one. My english grammar is bad that i will admit. Okay so its isn't the keyboards fault. Jak if you maybe want to see a story post of mine go to the storm trooper story board, click on killhouse{lancersquad} then comment again on my writing. I think this post is going okay to, its the new keyboard. ....but back to the avatars....

I use Paint Shop Pro 7 Anniversary Edition for my frames/borders (you can get it anywhere for $99), and I use PhotoShop CS (Creative Suite) for many of the pictures that go behind the frames ($600-$700 if you purchase it from a store). -----------------------

Hmm... got a little small.
Hence why I like working with 100x120 images and editing them that way instead of shrinking larger images - you dont know what to expect quality-wise. -----------------------
