I'd have to say it's more along the lines of rock than rap. Granted, I've only listened to two songs, "In the End" and "It's Been Awhile," but neither sounded much like rap. -----------------------

I would say that they are a lot more of a rock band. None of the songs that I listen to of theirs don't sound like Rap. -----------------------

They are neither rock, or rap. Linkin park music is a hybrid between the two, so the type of music is called Hybrid. Their first album was Linkin Park "Hybrid Theory." Look it up, I'm not wrong. -----------------------

Linkin Park has bits of both, rap and rock, although, the only talent in the band is the lead SINGER, not the rapper.....boy, if I could scream like that guy, I would go to karaoke bars every night.... -----------------------

Alternative Rock would probably fit them best, but otherwise, I guess it's hard to say if they have a specific genre, because they bring aspects of almost all of the mainstream genres. -----------------------

I say it depends on which albums you look at... The newest one is obviously Hybrid... I mean really... But Meteora was a mix between Rap and Rock, making it a form of Alternitive rock, (it's an alternitive rock making it Alternitive Rock...)

You're all wrong. Linkin' Park's official genre is crap. Many bands fall into this genre. In fact the vast majority of bands played on "popular" or new "rock" radio stations. -----------------------

linkin park is an excellet mainstream band. Thats the phrase. ANd im going with shaz on his assertion of a hybrid music. they dont fit into any category perfectly. Some songs, like My december have a positively rock feeling to them, while high voltage is all about rap...so i dunno -----------------------

I can say I don't like certain bands, but still admit their talent. Why can't you, MD? Linkin Park at least has that. I happen to like them, but that's beside the point. At least give them the credit they are due. I know lots of people that don't like that kind of music that say LP has talent. -----------------------
