Comparing TT with Episode II, I'd say TT because Episode II was just "OK". Anyway, you have 4 topics which ask pretty basic questions. Next time have just 1 topic with a format of: 1) Favorite Food 2) Favorite Movie etc.

Yes, please, limit the topics. And The Two Towers was far superior to Attack of the Clones in every single aspect except that Natalie Portman is way hotter than anyone in Jackson's films.

Come on now DH. You know you like Liv Tyler, and Sean Astin is the sexiest little hobbit you've ever seen. LOL. Anyway I would have to go with TTT as well. Ep. II just didn't really do it for me.

They were both bad. Two towers less so.

TT was great!  Much better than episode II.    Course Episode II had bad acting and directing and  I have always liked LOTR books.. the movies are kinda close, guess it is just nice to see all the things you pictured while reading the books happen on screen... the ents for example, I had a different vision of them in my head, but boy did they do a good job of brining them out of the books.. and gollum.. they did a great job on them too...

Gollum was great, but I can't give them too much praise for him because he was so much like the Gollum from the awesome Hobbit cartoon. (which in my mind is the best cartoon movie EVER) I mean, Episode II wasn't bad ... you just have to realize that these new Star Wars films will never be anything like the old ones.

The Hobbit cartoon is better than the Transformers or GI Joe movie?  Are you serious? Just thinking about those wacky spores that COBRA was gonna use still gives me the chills.

Cartoons, phooey! The only good animated thing was Shrek, and that only because it had sex jokes!

Fury - they danced to Weird Al's Dare To Be Stupid in Transformers movie. That alone makes it horrible And as for G.I. Joe, I've never liked that show, so I've never watched the movie, so I can't really say anything bad about it. Chipmunk - Yeah, Shrek was good, but that's C.G., not animation.

OK, must say that the BEST animation comes from Japan.. no one can argue that... I lived there for two and a half years... they know animation... graphic, has the sex, the blood, you name it... sigh... not that I didnt like GI Joe... that was a cool cartoon.

Cartoons ROCK. How can you dislike animated goodness? Come on, what's wrong with you.. Two Towers would have been better if they actually finished the damn book and I got to see Shelob. 3rd Movie is either going to be very very rushed, or they are going to skip a hell of a lot. Either way it sucks.

I know I'm going to catch some flak for this, but can someone please PLEASE tell me why the Japanese almost ALWAYS use Whites/Caucasians in their cartoons? I don't get it. And if they're going to do that, they could at least draw them with normal eyes and hair.

Work with me on this. The first whites they saw were Dutch missionaries and US navy personnel a couple centuries later.  You think those folks didn't have a funky smell and a serious case of helmet head?  Plus, if you came out of the bowels of some ship after the better part of a year, all you would be was tall hair and really big eyes. As for whites are used; face it, white people are just damned hilarious to any other race on the planet.  Most belong to cultures that positively flourish with looking good rather than feeling good.  So you get anorexic people with dyed blonde hair.  On the other end of the spectrum you get people who don't even bathe.  All of this type of behavior tends to lead to really, really, really stupid behaviors like snake handling, beauty pageants, stock car racing, pro wrestling, WATCHING stock car racing and pro wrestling, and the Republican party. Other races don't normally tend to be that scary and funny at the same time.  Plus, using a non-Japanese racial group allows for a lot more play on words and cultural in-jokes than would be acceptable if a Japanese looking "cast" would allow.

All good points, but I think if I were going to create some badass character who could throw some smack down, I'd want him to be sort of like not me, and not like those funny Americans across the ocean.

There is a lot of japanimation that isnt american characters... Dragon Ball Z obviously does, but a lot of the stuff I watch doesnt... course it also has subtitles.  The do use a lot of american characters but there are several reasons  for that.. plus... wouldnt you get tired of seeing all the cartoons with the same hair color and eye color??? Makes it hard to have the dark bad guy and the light haired good guy ya know.

That was the "almost" in my comment. I'm quite aware that there's a lot of anime in which the characters' nationalities match that of their creators. And I was glad to see that some of the characters in Final Fantasy X looked a little more Eastern than in past games. But still, I don't quite get it. If someone is Japanese, draw them as being Japanese. If someone is Irish, draw them as being Irish. If someone is Kenyan, draw them as being Kenyan. It all started with Astro Boy, my friends. Fair-skinned, big-eyed robot with spiky hair. Anyone remember him? haha Ah, good times.

What sickens me the most about japanese cartoons is how much my brother loves them. The kid wants my family to speak japanese, eat ONLY their food, and buy their cars. He says when he gets older, heis going to marry a japanese person and move to japan. All because of their cartoons. Now THAT'S sick!

Ok now that one is a bit odd... Maybe you should send him to school over there... culture is soo different you will either a... get rid of him since he will never come back, or b.  he will realize that the Japanese are trying to become americans in a lot of ways... not all, I remember when I was there the usual business attire was black suit and black tie.. then about a year later I noticed the trend changing to slacks and button shirts.. one of the Japanese friends of mine there was telling me that Bill Gates had such an impact on them, and they were so impressed by his wealth that they started dressing like him.  Just one example of many.. another is the girls there (once again a lot of them.. but not all) are trying to get out of Japan and come over here, they watch MTV and dress like us (not the best attire I might add) and wear platform shoes trying to be taller like American girls... so it is interesting, they are trying to get over here and trying to be like Americans... and we have the opposite problem... hmmm think we should do a mass swap or something Just noted something else... TV is to blame in both situations... well TV and Bill Gates haha

Hmm.... well Japanese are normally rather fair-skinned... and Saito from Kenshin looks very Japanese.  So there are exceptions to every rule, I guess.
