Welcome back, Serpent. And my, those stats are impressive so far.
Folks, I'm technically still on leave, but stay tuned: I should be back to full activity by tomorrow, with some story-specific announcements. 
In the meantime, Serpent has hit on a great point: I really want Counterpunch: War to break records, so let's get the post count even higher!
And toward that end, I've reconsidered my earlier decision: each post will count as one post, no matter how many subjects, characters, or complete scenes are covered within it. So, no asterisks in future, Serpent. This decision is designed to make it easier for folks doing statistics, and also should hopefully encourage some of you super-posters to spread content out over multiple posts, rather than squishing multiple posts into one.

For reference, take a look at the TV show Battle 360. You can find episodes online: I'm envisioning the Battle of Bloodmoon (at least, the non-VENI, Fleet action part) as something like the Battle of Midway, only with much better sensors on both sides. Feel free to draw inspiration from World War Two naval/air combat: George Lucas did! And, let's be quick about moving this battle to a climax, forcing one side or the other (I HOPE the Dominion) to withdraw. You guys are going to LOVE what's planned for the next stage of the Counterpunch arc. The experiment was indeed good as I've learned something from it. The results however - those I'm still debating by myself. Basically I wanted a post to better emphasize emotion - the loss, confusion and fear felt by the enemy upon meeting a superior foe and the apparent lack of any such emotions from the foe in question. I feel that I got the basics down but otherwise feel that the end result is still raw and somewhat... choppy.
Will next mess around with other POVs as well as maybe start a chain of events that fluidly transition from one to another. I'll be sure to actually post some normal posts as well in order to move the story along and further broaden the scope of the battlefield.

I posted again in my VENI role, but I just wanted to say a quick 'sorry' to the Chlovi people. A character in my story called you 'frakwits'. Please be clear I meant nothing by it, it was the NPC talking, not me!
