I missed the meeting. Don't ask, I'll just get enraged again and want to firebomb a J.C. Penney's. But I digress....
You know how sometimes you eat a succulent meal, but just can't finish it? So, you pack it in a box, go home, and at 3 a.m. you absolutely, positively, gotta put the leftovers out and re-enjoy the meal? This is kinda like that, but instead of a meal, you have leftover meeting stuff in a styrofoam box.
Alrighty, on the strong recommendation of their squad leaders (or acting ones in one case), I would like to promote the following:
Merrick (Jester) to Corporal
Strider (Raiders) to Lance Corporal
Xtreme (Dark Dragoons) to Lance Corporal
On a sidenote, if you are an SL and want to promote someone, try not to advertise it to the trooper. We like to surprise people sometimes. Conversely, if you are said trooper, I require you to try REALLY HARD to not constantly request your promotion. This is for a couple reasons. 1.) The job of your SL is to request a promotion based on merit, not on volume of desire of a promotion. 2.) Self-promotion (by loudly screaming you want one) is tacky, and may lead people to wonder if you deserve the right to potentially lead others in the long run. Basically, people are promoted because they do a good job and are active. If we can match that with great leadership skills, that is what usually makes a fine SL. And a fine SL would in most cases have already sent Talon and I an email.
On another note that is very important to me, I would really like to thank SGM Ramon Stonefish for making it to the meeting. I have a very important announcement related to him and I meant to be there. So, belatedly....
The Army High Command, after some deliberations and libations, would like to announce the filling of the Storm Platoon Commander position with SGM Stonefish. It is our feeling that he has always been a solid trooper with good ideas, high activity, and fine leadership skills. We wanted to give him an opportunity to show up these talents on a higher level. And what better place to provide a challenge than leading green troops, mischevious special operatives, and irreverant jokers? Congratulations Fish.
As for the specialties, I am waiting on a bit more information to roll in on one of the skill types. I apologize for the delay. I should have the latest and greatest versions up soon with some instructions as to what we conceive the implementation of the process.

I also missed the meeting, but I want to congratulate everyone who got promoted, as well as everyone who has worked hard but not yet recieved one. Most importantly though, I would like to congratulate those of you who have not been promoted recently, continue working hard, and haven't complained. From what I can see lately, I think that it takes a lot of discipline not to complain when you don't get a promotion even though u think you deserve it. It seems that most of us have forgotten the reason why we joined the VE: to have FUN! We seem to be getting caught up on "Why haven't I been promoted yet? I work twice as hard as so and so!" or "I have been in the VE for **Months, and it has been ** Months since my last promotion." Now let me ask all of you who feel this way something. "Does not getting a promotion change who you are?" If you answer yes, then you all have some serious problems, or you define yourself by your job title, and need to learn to do otherwise. Just because you haven't been promoted, doesn't mean you won't get one. Please stop whining and learn to congratulate people that have been promoted. Your day will come when you have earned it! -----------------------

I just want to clear up one point there.. Time in rank means nothing. You can stay PFC as long as you're in the VE if you don't do anything. Not much is required to go from PFC to LCPL, but some people just don't do it. As to you higher enlisted (NCO) troopers, the reason you're not officer as fast as your previous promotions is because it takes a lot to get over he "Officer hump." Gaining a position that requires you to be an officer is the best way.. and how do we get that? Showing that you deserve it. -----------------------
