Why do I like you people again?

In other news, greetings Jaz, I'm DarianRogue, but I go by DR, so please call me that. Or else things will happen. Actually, things are probably going to happen regardless, but they won't be related to me.

They'll probably be related to D6 someone else.

Don't hurt me Deep.

Looks like the sim story was a bit of a dud. With Drac's permission, we're gonna go a different direction. He gave the big ship guys a chance to create their own mission, so we get to do that now too.

So...I figure I could use some crazy people's help coming up with something fun to write about. Whaddaya say? Got any ideas?

*sighs* This is why you guys have the small ships. The VE can't afford it when you crash Star Destroyers while driving under the influence. Lol.

You guys could definitely do a bar fight if you want. Those're pretty common but lots of fun. Any other ideas?

There have been quite a few changes lately (new additions to the squadron as well as roster changes) and in a few days time there may also be rank and position changes as well. In light of that I propose a multi-sequence story.

The first part should be a debriefing of sorts - mentioning things that happened during the OotI, various acts of bravery and/or reckless stupidity, casualties, new transfers (IC) as well as a need for further changes as far as the squadron is concerned: as in further leadership changes. This is meant to smooth things over from the current OOC state to IC as well. Hopefully that should decrease confusion and should enhance realism and roleplaying. If it's fine with Wager I could coordinate this stage - be the fellow that introduces him IC as your new CO as well as either introducing or maybe simply approving of the new XO and FL(s).

Overall this stage shouldn't take very long as it's meant mostly to provide the members with a chance to explore their own feelings and beliefs regarding the previous battle as well as a chance to better fit in their new roles - be them roles of new acquired leadership or not. The very fact that you'd undergo further leadership changes so soon after the previous ones could also be something interesting to write about - just a thought.

I personally suggest the second stage be a more informal gathering of sorts - a cantina maybe? - in which the members could be provided with a chance to simply interact. It's a chance for the new leaders to show how they intend to lead - be friendly and understanding or maybe uptight and by the book sort of fellow... as well as a shot for the regular members to start liking or suddenly disliking the latter. Nothing like the beginning (or maybe continuation) of some friendships and/or rivalries to add some spice in the future squadron stories.

This stage should take as much as the members themselves feel necessary to achieve their personal agendas or as much as the leaders believe is enough for the story not to become boring and no longer interesting (hopefully the former). Afterward I'd once more personally suggest some larger scale teambuilding exercises - running sims, maybe flying out on a routine patrol, returning to the briefing room for the details of a new mission about to start soon after (ideal if a new story concept is brought up and agreed upon by the other members). The possibilities at this point are fairly varied so there's no reason to go through all of them...

Like usual, ideas and comments - oh, and don't forget booze of course - are welcome.

/me grits teeth

As much as I despise saying this... Deep, your proposal is great. The first part is an awesome idea as a warm up for the story. The outline of the second part is good. As an interesting way to present this, I actually go back to my bar fight idea. Seriously, it is one of those spontaneous moments that can tell you a lot about a leader (e.g. if they command order, or jump in with their subordinates, or a mix of both). If there is a unanimous decline of that (which I bet there will be), I say go with a sim that can produce the same type of personality-based repulsive orders/actions that the bar fight could.

That's just my spin on it.

Works for me. I'm assuming several IC reprimands are in order for the debriefing?

We haven't done a barfight in a long while. It would be a good location for a bit of CD I have planned, and some IC interaction wouldn't hurt.

LAST barfight we got involved in was only me, the former XO and Ryn. The rest of our squadron saw fit to let us kick their behinds.

The XO was in confinement for three days after that ^_^

Also Hades, I now have my eyes on you and promise you to enact retribution. Fierce, savage and generally unspeakable retribution... as soon as I think of something appropriate enough to retake that "mother of god" pose. Rather like that pose...

Oops, the Atrus should have dozens of bars, food joints, entertainment centers as well as lodgings for even civilians (families of the crew). We must make it our mission to explore all those locations - obviously starting with the bars, as they're the ones most vital to the crew's performance.

Note to self: make Hades cry... again.

Seeing how the CapShip people have already started out their story I give you your own story. As I mentioned in the OOC portion of the post, this could be a good time to introduce or reintroduce your character - and I'm not talking about "Hi, my name is X" sort of introductions, though those aren't excluded either especially if you're supposedly new to the squadron IC. The thing I was originally considering however was your actual char concept - what he/she now thinks, believes and desires.

I know the sim mission is still running as well and I know Wager technically introduced himself in that one but for the sake of realism and awesomeness I'll be introducing him properly to the squadron during the meeting, meaning that chronologically this story will occur before the sim mission. Seeing how Wager's own intro in that thread was relatively short and to the point I also do not believe that could lead to any issues in the long run.

Given both its concept and some of its participants, the CSS story has the potential to become great. Being the kind, gentle and humble leader that I am (I'll feed Mr. Fluffness anyone that says differently ) well I also want our own story to be just as great if not greater. Aye, greater sounds better after all, so I'd like everyone to aim for greater after all

Okay, now go post. Unless you have questions. If that's the case first ask the questions... and then go post

Ehm... reassigned where? Cause according to the roster you'll be A-3 if I recall correctly. Granted you may not post in that position until such a time that Trykon green lights you but that's where you'll most likely remain after that happens anyway.
