IRC trouble

Hey kids. I'm finally up at college, and I've got everything back on my laptop, inclusive of mIRC. However, every time I try to connect to the server (on any of the servers mentioned by Tal), it says my connection has timed out. Any suggestions on what to do? I don't actually know how to fix that, but you could always try using Java Chat on the main page. |

well, as i have been told, i have to connect to a proxy server. but how do i do that? My IRC fixed itself, and I dunno what was wrong,
