Paladin had recently finished a tough mission on Tatooine. They had rescued the king and his servants and were assured that Tatooine would become allies to the VE. Upon coming back, everyone had had a day's rest on Tadath , but now they were headed on vacation. Lucky was sitting at her desk, feet propped up and crossed one over another in a comfortable position. She was staring at her computer screen. The place where they would all vacation was a little hard to pick, but she had chosen Endor. It was much nicer than Kashykk in her opinion plus another squad would be joining them.

Iron Horse had finished a mission just a few days before them, but their SL, AlanRJ , who was a little more than a good friend of hers decided to join her squad on the vacation. It would be fun to have a chance to mingle with members of another squad for a change. She stared at the screen for a few minutes before sitting up straight and powering off the computer.

She got up from her desk, opened a drawer from a small cabinet she had in the corner of her office and took out a bottle containing a brown liquor. She uncorked the bottle and took a swig of its contents before heading out the door. She was thinking about how nice it would be to have a desk made out of either cherrywod or mahogany maybe some other time, now to wake everyone up.

Walking down the hallway, she couldn't help but noticing how the hallways were empty at this hour. People were either at the Entertainment Centre, on a mission or simply taking a nap or relaxing. She walked into a well-lit hallway that looked out across lush grounds , and couldn't stop thinking about the upcoming vacation...warm weather, beaches, swimming in the ocean... finding herself standing in front of the Paladin barracks door, she hastily opened it and looked around. Doors to rooms were closed, everyone was presumably sleeping. That would have to change. She got a megaphone from a cabinet , put some earplugs in her ears, stood in the hallway in the very middle so everyone would hear her.

"GET UP! GET UP EVERYONE! IT'S VACATION TIME!!!"

She dropped the megaphone to her side and waited fir a second. She could hear rustling behind the doorways as everyone hurried to get ready. she took out her datapad and sent a message to Alan informing him that her squad was getting ready and that they would meet at the private shuttle which would take them to Endor.

Once everyone were finally out of their rooms, she told them to pack their stuff and to bring along their armour "just in case". They did so, knowing taht things could go wrong very quickly wherever they went, but for the new Troopers, it had to become a habit. Better to be safe than sorry, right? Once she was sure taht everyone was packing all the essentials, she went to her own private quarters and started packing.

Hunter was taking a nap after he had just unpacked things in his new barracks. He heard a knock on his door. He walked into the hallway and  nodded to one of his squadmates Ken. He and Ken had had a conversation when he was walking into the barracks and he seemed like a good guy. Alan , Hunter's squad leader, looked around at everyone and smiled, "You'll be glad to know we're not goin on a mission." What, why were we called out here. Alan must have seen Hunter's confused look cause then he said, " We will be going on vacation with Paladin squad. Pack your things and bring your armour and weapons just in case. A private shuttle will be leaving shortly." Endor, I remember Endor! Hunter had been once with his fathers merchant buisness when he was eight. He remembered the warm beaches and the kind species. That was before the war. Hunter walked backed into his room and put his things in his pack and decided to go see what Ken was up to.

Ror woke up to the sound of his squad commander shouting about somthing to do with....What did she say, Endor? Ror sat up and the book he was reading fell off his bed onto the floor, "What the hell did she just say?" Ror scratched his head as he yawned. He had just got to bed after a long day of com tech class.

Ror leaned out his door, "Hey Lucky I just did one day specialty course and am exhausted would you mind repeating that for me?"

Luckystar gave Ror an angry look with having to repeat her good news to the still simi-green soldier. "Ror give me twenty and I will let you in on the secret," getting a faint smile as Ror dropped to the ground and started counting off push ups. "Thank you Ror now get packing we are going to Endor for a little vacation break."

With that she saw that everyone was packing and fine and then turned around and walked off towards her private quarters. Ror grabbed him com gear instructions, for his next level of classes, figuring this would be a good stress free time to study as well as relax. Ror packed them in a duffel bag along with his chance cubes, sabecc deck, and datapad with movie chips. He was taking his custom made storm trooper armor, yet to be worn, his E-11 Marksman, A280 Armor-Piercing Heavy Blaster Rifle, Hologram Projection Pod, all 10 of his Hush-98 comlinks, and his vibro-bayonet in a giant bag he would store in the loading bay of the private shuttle.

Ror almost forgot to get extra cloths and laughed and made sure no one was around was in his room to see him almost miss something that important. Ror grabbed about three days worth of cloths and stuffed them into his bag, which was a complete mess of things tossed hastily into the bag.

Ror walked out into the hallway and heard the sounds of his other teammate packing there things, the sounds of light conversation between friends in the squad could be heard also. Sighing Ror kept walking down the hallway, Wicket was really his only friend in the squad and he was in his own private chamber, much like Lucky's. All the sudden BAM!! Ror felt the plastic-like material hit him in the face knocking him onto the ground. "What the hell!" Ror looked up to see Wicket standing there with a shocked look on his face.

"Oh my god Ror I am so sorry, I didn't see you there. Then again I shouldn't be swinging my bag, but I was and I hit you and now your on the ground. Awww I am so sorry." Wicket spat out in a jumble of words as he helped Ror get up.

"What are you doing here Wicket?" Ror replied rubbing his head.

"Oh me! Well you see the idea of being an assistant squad leader and I'm not the best example of a soldier to begin with sooo, I kinda asked to step down to a normal soldier again." Wicket said with a nervous smile on his face.

"Wow seriously Wick that is well..." Ror was a lost for words, "hehe good for you," he finished with a nervous laugh, "Well Wick I am done packing, see you at the docks man."

"Actually you won't," Wicket said with a pause, "I didn't exactly set down to soldier like I said, I am kinda retiring completely."

"What no way Wicket why?" Ror asked almost droping his bags in shock.

"It is a long story Ror, well good luck and good bye," Wicket said and then contunied walking down the hallway.

Being ready to pack Ror went down to the hanger and ordered a cup of coffee and sat down at one of the tables, "Hmmm seems like I have been here before. DEJAVU!"

lucky was finishing up packing weh  there was knock at her door 'come in" she said, zipping up the bag that contained the black ShockTrooper armour , which was the squad's standard armour since their specialty had changed. The door opened silently, and when she turned around, she saw Wicket standing on the threshold.

"Come on in Wiicket, no need to stand there like that" she said , starting to pull a chair up to her workdesk.

"Lucky...I'm leaving today. I'm retiring from the Army, I've no idea how long I'll be in retirement for" taht was a shock to her since he was young, he had a whole career in front of him and he had a veryy good character.

"Well" she said once she was over the intial shock "you'll be sorely missed. Have a great time, stay healthy and alive, maybe drop me a message once in awhile to tell me how you're doing... May you lead a long, healthy life and may God be with you."

"Thank you" Wicket said, shuffling his feet uncomfortably in the doorway.

"Well, I guess I'll get packing. You stay well, Lucky" he finished.

"So long my friend, we'll probably see you departing as we go on our vacation. If not well, send us a postcard or something " she said with a smile at the corner of her mouth. He nodded and closed teh door behind her, still a little shock at the fact that a very good soldier was leaving, she packed a little more slowly. Ten minutes later, she was finally done packing and headed out teh door to join the rest of her squad.

Ken walked up the ramp with his modest baggage, looking over the unfamiliar members of Paladin squad. He frowned as he noticed that nearly half of their squad was composed of aliens. He didn't bother getting righteously indignant about it, though, since he knew that he wouldn't even have to talk to them if he didn't want to. Besides, why get bent out of shape before his vacation even began?

He stowed his luggage and picked out a seat, opting to sit forward so he might be able to go in the cockpit and talk to the pilots. He smoothed his uniform and sat down, heaving a contented sigh. He saw Hunter Plasma walking up the ramp and waved him over.

"Hey, Hunter, come on up here!" he called out.

Ken stood as Hunter approached and offered to stow his things.

"No, thanks," he replied, "I got it under control."

Ken didn't argue, and in a few moments both were seated.

Nova slowly awakened to a woman's voive that was amplified by a megaphone. He payed no attention to it until the words, "IT'S VACATION TIME!!!"  came out. Upon hearing that last sentence, the Fuzzy being popped out of bed like it burned him. Being a Wookie, Nova had little more to pack than his armor and a few personal effects. As he went through his mental checklist, Paladin's newest squad member placed all of his belongings immaculately into his VE dufflebag. He went over everything once more just to make sure he wasn't forgetting anything. [ Toothpaste, check. Toothbrush, check. Ordorant, check. Armour, check. Ok I think that is it. ] Nova said as he zipped his enormous bag up. The Wookie picked it up of the bed and flipped it over his shoulder while he walked out of his room.

On his way to the shuttle, Nova passed the cafeteria and decided to grab a bite to eat. The over grown carpet tossed his luggage down next to the door and headed for the snack bar. A female turned from the bar as Nova walked up to look. Realizing it was his Squad Leader, Luckystar, He saluted her and stood at attention. She gazed over at him and chuckled, "At ease soldier. You don't have to do that to me every time."

[Sorrrry ma'am,] hegrowled back in a somewhat embarrassed tone.

"It's fine," Lucky said, "Every new recruit does that. So are you ready for the vacation?"

[As rready as everr!] roared the fuzzball, [ Where are we going though?]

Ror finished his coffee before picking up his two bags and walked over to the ship that was preping to launch and stored his big bag in the loading dock before walking into the the passenger arae and taking a seat by himself and took out his datapad, he saw that he had a new message and opened it to see what it was about

Subject: Congrats!!!

Omg Ror I can't believe you were in and didn't even drop me a line! But I understand your job has certain requirments that you need to accomplish before taking care of personal matters. Oh yeah before I forget I heard ou passed you second course in Com Tech!! That is amazing! Well I know you are going on vacation but next time your in come on by k?

Ror put the datapad down and sighed, he had forgotten completely about her after the class.

Oh Uunun I can't believe I forgot about seeing her before I left! I was just so tired after the class I forgot about her. Dammit I will have to make it up to her next time we arn't on a mission.

Ror shook his head and grabbed the data pad again, this time looking through some data that Ror had downloaded about various procedures and operation of different types of com systems. He figured they might turn out to be useful one day, during training or in real life.

After a couple of minutes the pilot came on to radio annouceing that the ship was taking off, everyone on board strapped their seat belts on for the take off. The ship's engine hummed to life as the take off procedures started. The ship soon pulled out of the hanger and started off to pull out a bit before the the pilot punched in the hyperspace cordnites and in a matter of seconds the ship was zooming through hyperspace heading  towards Endor for the two squads vacation.

Ror was sad that Wicket had quit the corps, Wicket was his only friend so far as most of the squad that he started with had already gone AWOL or left. Ror looked around at the new squad and Iron Horse squad and saw a mass of unfamiliar face, mainly only Lucky and Gimp being the only ones he knew. Ror saw that they now had a wookie on the squad,

hmmmm interesting, but still surpising course of career for a wookie. I am surprised that the STC allowed him to join actually. I might have to ask him about that some day, that is if me or him don't die or leave before then.

Malix wakes momentarily to watch the effects of the nightmare. As a teammate wakes the trooper and calms him he makes a sour face and settles back into his seat.

Lucky smiled as she told Hunter that he couldn't sleep any longer. It was no time to have nightmares and give everyone a scare about things they need not worry about right now. She looked around and saw most of her squad sitting in seats by their lonesome, seemingly not wanting to socialize much. She frowned a little at this and sat down for a few minutes. She took out her datapad and scrolled through notes on Target Analysis.

A few minutes later, she got up and went to an empty loading bay. She needed to think about many things, she would take the chance to work out at the same time. Walking into the loading bay, she waited until the door closed and got down to do some push-ups. Two hundred push-ups later, she did a few sit-ups, crunches and b the time she was done, she had completed a full ab workout and her arms and legs were pleasantly tired.

She sat in a corner of the loading bay for a few minutes before walking out. When she looked around, she saw that most of the people were sleeping, so was Hunter. She had heard no shouting from him so far, so she assumed he was doing better. She saw that the cockpit door was open. She walked towards it and saw Ken in conversation with the pilot and copilot. When the three men saw her, they saluted and she returned it.

"Good day gentlemen she said to the two Navy officers.

"Enjoying yourself , Ken?" She asked , smiling at the young Army officer. He nodded, smiling back at her and continued his conversation with the two pilots.

She went back into the passenger bay and woke everyone up.

"Guys, time to wake up. Even though we still have atleast two and a half hours to go until we orbit, it would be good that you guys came out of here fully awake. Don't you think?"

The looks on their faces made a wide smile appear in her face. she sat back down in an empty seat and stretched her legs out comfortably before bringing them back in a comfortable bent position and started reading a large print book she had brought.

Malix's eyes dart open at the wake up order and he gets up from his seat in silence. He slings his carbine on his right shoulder and scoops up his helmet. It's obvious that the new recruit is still a little new to the powered armor, and he longs for the days where his simple Compforce armor was the uniform of the day.

He walks to the appointed staging area and his thoughts wander to the activities of the past few weeks. While his squad was on assignment, Malix has been in class learning about demolitions. To him it was a strange experience. In Compforce most things were taught on the fly. If you didn't learn the lessons then you likely died. His orders were fairly simple. "Kill him" was usually the operative phrase that spurned the stoic man into action, and when put in action someone became very dead in a big hurry.

Just to make himself a little more comfortable he has chosen to wear a few of his weapons in the same fashion in which he wore them in Compforce. The scabbard of his vibroknife is melded into his left shoulder with the pommel pointing down. His blaster pistol is also in a non standard position, worn farther down the leg in a gunfighters position. Who knows how these modifications will pan out amongst the ranks, and he sighs as he marches into formation to find out.

Doomblade looked at his Sgt. with a half smile and plopped down in the seat next to her after restrieving his gear and restowing it in this overhead compartment.

"Luckystar huh?" He says with a slight nod as he fishes momentarily in his pocket. A few moments later he has a Reagent Gold Cigar in his mouth as he relaxes back in his seat. "I've been in almost a dozen hostile engagements. Killed over twenty New Republic troopers. I've seen all there is to see except one thing." He pauses and takes the cigar from his mouth. "I've never seen a woman from our side in combat." He grins and nods before putting the stoogie back in his mouth. "From what I hear at the replicator, your one of the top combat specialists at our base. Maybe you can teach me a few tricks...then again maybe I'll teach you a few."

One might think he's a braggart, but the eyes tell a different story. Even though he may occasionally smile, his eyes are like looking into pools of nothing. No emotion and absolutely no fear. An experienced trooper who seems to know the right direction to dive when a grenade rolls to his feet.

Then again maybe this was his way of flirting.

"You ever heard of Compforce? When we began training we lost four men in the first day. We began with fifty, only seven of us actually graduated and went to a unit." He says acidly. "After placement that's when the real fun began and we traded blows with New Republic Commandos." He says with a raised brow grasping the hilt of his vibroknife. "I know my way around a firefight, and I definately know how to carve people up."

He relaxes back in his seat.

"The point is we trained differently and maybe trading tactics will make an interesting and more efficient fighting force."

"Yea.. this is suppose to be a vaction??"

Saph snorted as she  was already awake ahead of the others. Well unless you counted on shooting up some of the teddy bears. A smile spread across her face as she thuoght about wicket and his  thing about soft and cuddly.

"Don't worry guys, It's not a mission. Or at least for now it's not. Keep in mind that we could be called out of vacation and called back into duty at any given time."

Came a voice she cared not to listen. Saph never cared for vactions. Nothing ever was to her. Hell, she coudlnt' remember what real fun was. Walking up she leaned aganist the bulkhead to glare at the newest member of the squad.


"Saph.. dont' kill him yet.."


Came  Lucky's voice. Saphira swivvled her head to glare over at him.

"Who said I was going to do that..."


She smiled and those that knew her knew that look.


" Saph.. No.. come on.. Were on vaction. Leave the blood at home.."


Crossing her arms she grumbled and walked  past the new guy to take a seat that wasn't so crowded. Her red skin seemed to glow as her Lek'ku  tail  end flickered like a cat tail.  The others  definatly needed to get  her to calm down on the  much needed vaction.

Ror leaned back in his chair as Doomblade went on about Compforce, "So you got some experience cool welcome to the club, but don't get in your head your special at all. Your in the STC now so get ready for the shit hole cause that is where we go. But forget lets move on. You lucky bastards get to go on vacation when you just get here. Hell I had to go infiltrate a palace for my first...squad bonding....experience," Ror finished with a laugh as he tried to lighten up the tense mood the group had around them.

The shuttle pilot came on the speaker with an announcement, "We will bet getting into orbit in T minus 10 minutes so all passengers and crew return to your seats and prepare for departure in about an hour or so. We will be landing at Gamma space station where all land goers will be transferring via shuttle to the surface. Thank you and have a good stay at Endor."

Well that wasn't to bad till we had that confertation with the jack ass new squad mate.

Ror strapped in his seat belt and pulled out his data pad and started to review com channels in preparation for classes when they got back from vacation and he had time to continue pursuing his communications tech courses.

The ship smoothly pulled into orbit and proceeded to dock with the space station in 50 minutes, taking 10 less then expected. "Okay men and women all out we have a half hour before our shuttle for the surface leave so enjoy your selfs for say 20 minutes and then report straight back or risk getting left on the station until we come back to leave." Lucky said as she grabbed her bag from above her head and pulled it down and started towards the door. Ror started doing the same when he realized about his bigger bag, "Hey Alan what about our other stuff?"

Alan smiled, "Don't worry about that my boy they will be transfered to the shuttle while we are up and about."

Ror smiled back and walked off the ship and saw Doomblade standing a couple of feet from the shuttle. Ror walked over and sighed, "Hey man sorry about back on the ship it just new recruits who think their the shit tend to piss me off. Lets start over, I am Ror, your with me in paladin right?" Ror said extending his hand to shake, an ancient custom Ror had picked up on.

Malix could'nt help but think this lot is a bit too territorial to be trusted. After a few minutes he realizes if the situation was reversed then it might have played out the same way. He nods at Ken and Ror in acknowledgement and belays the free time to check over his gear. This may be a vaction, however he makes it a habit to treat every shuttle landing as a potential for trouble.

He begins with the standard gear, armor, then moves on to weapons as he silently appraises his new outfit. Much contemplation brings the decision that he is alone. There will be no one to watch his back if the shit hit's the fan, and he should be ready for anything.
