Tanus waited for Lucky to show up at the shuttle, which had been running hot for about twenty minutes by the time she got there. She got in and threw her stuff down next to his; it seemed like so little compared to his gear. Tanus strapped in and looked over at Lucky.

"Ya know, you really didn't have to come."

Lucky looked back at him with an indignant look.

"Oh yes I do. From what you said, you're gonna need all the help you can get."

Tanus shrugged. "Fine, suit yourself. But just remember: if anything happens, it wasn't my decision."

Tanus turned around and punched in the coordinates and told Lucky to strap in. As she did so, he hit the repulsorlifts and the shuttle lifted into the air, He lifted up the boarding ramp and extended the wings. As he did so, Lucky put power to the thrusters. And in a flash, they were out of the hangar and into the empty void of space.

Sayah stood in the shadows, listening. He then slowly walked back to his ship and typed a few commands into a datapad. Inside, several droid heads popped up and the engines of his modified freighter, the Century Eagle, roared to life. As Tanus left in the shuttle, Sayah returned to his bunk and packed up some essential equipment, pausing at his storage locker. He typed in the access code and deactivated the redundant security before picking up, and looking at, some unusual, potentially lifesaving memento of his bounty hunting years. In the locker were a pair of cortosis blades he had won on Korriban along with a few rare crystals and a single lightsaber, taken from the palm of a former Jedi Padawan who had cursed him with her dying breath. He picked up one of the blades and left, re-sealing the locker as he did so. He watched as the heavily loaded freighter exited the hanger bay of the Atrus, before following shortly afterwards in his gold and red Actis Interceptor, the Scarlet Seraphim. He did a quick check on his destination and a systems check on both vessels and the frieghter's occupants, pausing for a moment on some low power readings for a droidika, then returning his gaze to the flickering lights that were stars in hyperspace. He emerged from hyperspace, halting at the blockade and wondering what in space he was getting himself into.

Lucky went around town looking for a few well-trained, strong men she needed at least a dozen. She couldn't see anyone fit for the job. She was in the side streets and alleys. The only men there were were either too old, scrawny or too young to be of any help. She decided to go on the town's main street. See if she had any luck there.

She walked on the main street and found what she was looking for in abundance.  She went over to some of them and asked them if they wanted to serve their cty. The ones who responded yes, she interviewed. And the ones who passed the interview were automatically on her strike team.

They walked back to where Tanus was, on the main street also. But on the other side of the city.  "Tanus, here's our strike team." She waved a hand behind her at the men. Tanus gave each one of them a sharp look and looked them from head to toe. once he was finished he looked at Lucky and said  'they'll do" before going to the front of the line and adressing everyone present.

"This is a difficult and deadly mission. Anyone who wants to bail out can do so now."

No one moved so he continued. "Well then. Let's get a move on shall we?"

They marched in the direction of a tall, gray castle-like building Lucky assumed to be the palce. Everyone was silent during the walk, not a word was spoken, until they came to a wall separating the palace from the rest of the city.

[I don't know if this is what you wanted, but I tried.]

Lucky rearmed herself like everyone else and stepped over the mounds of bodies across the baricade.They were standing near the frint gates of the Palace.  She waited for everyone to join her before continuing her walk towards the gates.

Once in front of the gates she looked at Tanus for instructions. They were simple:

Move as quickly as possible through the castle eliminating threats.

The objective: The queen who was supposedly in the throne room.

She quickly moved across the marble hallway towards a set of well-adorned double doors at the other end of the hall. She didn't know where it led her, but it was a good place to start.

Once she reached the dolrs, she noticed that it needed a special key.  She looked over at Tanus who was standing behind her, who looked at one of the guards.

"Do you have the key?"

The guard handed it to Tanus, who in turn handed it to Lucky.  She put it in the keyhole, turned it, and heard a click!.

The door swung open, and she saw two sets of staircases leading to tunnels going in two different directions.

Lucky didn't know what to do. Should I go left or right?  she gave Tanus a questioning look. There were two staircases and three of them. "I don't know about you. But i don't think splitting up would be a good idea."

"You're right Lucky. We'll stay together. Let's check out the one on the right snd see where that leads us."

Lucky and Sayah  nodded and followed Tanus up the stairs and into the dark tunnel. Inside, it was quiet. Too quiet. What if there are guards waiting to ambush us on the other side of that bend?

They cautiously walked forwards, around the bend, no guards came. They continued on and came to steps leading up. Lucky only counted four actual steps so the elevation was actually poor. This place made her rthink of some mountains she had explored once. They were dark and mysterious like this environment. Once the three of them were up on the landing they looked arond athem and al they saw was an eerie darkness.

Alan walked slowly down the corridor, weapon raised.  His senses on full alert, he knew that someone was close and he was ready to defend himself.  From the shadows he heard a voice.

"Sir?"

He knew that voice.  "Lucky, is that you?"

From the shadows emerged Lucky and Tanus.

"What the hell are you doing here Sir?" queried Tanus, "more importantly how did you get here?"

"Now that's a long story" replied Alan

Sometime earlier

Alan was strolling along the corridors and found himself in the hangar bay.  He usually enjoyed seeing the variety of ships docked and also liked to keep an eye on his own ships as well.  What the hell he suddenly thought as he watched a shuttle lift off.  "That's Tanus's shuttle isn't it" he muttered to himself.  He walked swiftly to the control tower and to the officer on duty.

"Can I help you Sir?" asked the officer.

"Whose shuttle has just departed?" queried Alan

The officer checked through the flight logs "The shuttle just departing is Tanus Solvona's Sir.  Both Tanus and Lucky have logged a flight plan for Onderon".

Onderon pondered Alan what the hell where they doing in Onderon.  "Get my freighter ready for departure now" said Alan.  Alan had recently purchased a YT-1300 Light Freighter but had never had the chance to fully put it through its paces no time like the present he thought as he waited for his freighter to get prepped.

Alan was happy when his freighter finally arrived at his destination.  He was greeted by a blockade of ships but once he had informed the blockade of who he was and that he was a friend of Tanus, he was soon allowed to land.

Upon his landing, Alan was met by Captain Jarvis Blais who had informed him of Tanus's plan and arranged for Alan to be escorted to the Palace.  Once Alan arrived at the Palace he looked around at all the dead bodies.  Looks like the work of Tanus and Lucky thought Alan as he moved onwards.  Alan quickly came to a door with a guard stationed at it, the guard let him through and informed Alan that Tanus and Lucky had taken the right corridor.  Moving slowly, weapon raised, he was soon in the company of his fellow squadmates

"We don't have time for long stories Sir" replied Tanus, "but it's good to see you"

Alan smiled "I figured you could use some help, this mission is yours Tanus and I'll back you up, so what's the plan?"

Tanus filled Alan in on the plan to rescue the Queen.

Alan looked up at Tanus and said "good plan, let's get it done"

Tanus was glad to see Alan in the palace; he could use everyone he could get. Tanus took point, Lucky and Alan flanking tight to the sides, their weapons raised. As they rounded the corner, they found some rebels in front of a door to the right. That's the library and computer hub. We could take that and use it as a base of operation, Tanus thought. Ordering them forward, the rebels caught them moving and raised their weapons. Tanus, Lucky and Alan brought them down in a storm of gunfire. When they got to the door, Tanus turned to the highest-ranking guard among them.

"Guard this door with your life. Don't let anyone in. We'll contact you when it's all clear."

The guard nodded and told the rest of the men what was going on. Tanus turned to Alan and Lucky and told them the plan.

"OK, behind this door is the main computer hub. It's all of the security in the palace. The library is also here. If we can take both back, then we'll have a base of operations to really get a counter-attack going. Is it all clear?"

Lucky and Alan nodded in unison.

"Let's move."

Tanus keyed in the combination to the door, which the rebels never changed, and walked in, weapons raised. When they got in, they were in the center of four statues, each of past rulers of Onderon. Then Tanus opened up a channel between the three of them.

"Listen, secure your suits. One of the defenses here is gas  the bad, deadly kind. If you get one whiff of that, you're finished, and I don't want any casualties."

Tanus secured his armor, and heard Lucky and Alan do the same. As they moved through the door to the left, they saw some of the security officials penned in with rebel guards. Tanus and his group took care of the rebels in short order, and freed the security officials. When they had grabbed their guns and equipment, Tanus ordered them outside with the rest of the guards. When they had done so, they moved into the right room.

The room to the right was a small room linking the main room to the computer hub. Tanus told Alan and Lucky to take out their pistols; it was a tight squeeze in the computer room. When they opened the door to the computer room, the rebels turned around. At that instant, Alan and Lucky threw two FB grenades into the room. Tanus popped out from behind the wall and opened up with his DT-57, dropping the rebels to the ground. Some of the rebels had come to, however, and started to fire in response. Alan and Lucky both fired from their pistols, taking out rebels in droves. When all the rebels were gone, Tanus called in the guards and had them slice open the security computers to get the defenses back on line.

When they had, Tanus heard a stomp-stomp of heavy footprints coming from the hall. He smiled when he remembered what those footsteps meant. Tanus looked back into the hall just to see a squad of Baron Droids coming around the corner. With their nice chrome finish, they reflected the sunlight in a brilliant spectacle. As they came in front of the door, rebels came rushing out. The Baron's hands came up to reveal dual blaster cannons on both arms; the rebels never stood a chance.

When the druids had moved on, Tanus ordered Alan, Lucky and two hand picked guards to come with him to the library. When they opened the door, they found that the library had been very well defended. Snipers were at the tops of balconies, waiting to pick off Tanus and his squad. Tanus swung his DC-15's muzzle around and unloaded a barrage into one of the balconies, toppling the sniper out of the structure. Tanus was about to walk forward when Lucky pulled him back just as a sniper round landed where his head would have been.

"Thanks," Tanus said.

"Be careful. Don't die yet," Lucky said jokingly.

Alan was unleashing hell from his rifle, bringing down sniper after sniper. When they got to the center of the library, things slowed down. There were fewer snipers, and the rebels were more easily seen and disposed of. It took them nearly ten minutes to get through the library. They stopped at its end to regroup. Alan walked over to Tanus and sat down.

"So, what's the plan now?" he asked, short on breath.

"Well, after the library, there is one more main corridor. After that, and if we don't run into any more trouble, we should be in the throne room within the hour. But first, I want to get our forces together so we can take the throne room with haste; I'm getting tired of all of these bloody rebels."

Tanus sent through a message to the guards: bring along six troopers and one official. Then he sat back and checked his weapons and armor for the big battle that lay ahead.

Lucky got up, slowly. her body ached all over and she wondered what she had heard. near her, she saw tanus getting up off the ground.

"We're fine , Alan."

She looked at the doors, they had disappeared, litterally. All that remained were smoking hinges and dorrjambs. She very slowly and quietly moved towards the doors.

"Be careful ,Lucky." Alan cautioned.

"I will" she assured him.

When she got to the dorrs, she looked at the way they were smoking and the dark areas.

"It appears that theses dorrs had charges on them." She informed the others.

'That's great" she heard a few people mutter.

"uh-oh. Guys, it looks like we have company."

Near the doors, previously hidden by the dark smoke and the obscur hallway were rebels. And a  fair amount of them at that.

Let's have some fun shall we?

She opened up with her rifle, at the same time Alan and Tanus did the same. A few moments later, the gunfight was over. But it wasn't over yet, more awaited them beyond.

Tanus hit the wall as soon as the rebels leveled their weapons: massive assault rifles that could very easily cut through the armor of Tanus or his companions. Tanus turned the corner and opened fire with his DC-15 assault rifle. Its blue bolts streamed through the air, hitting the rebel's armor, but bouncing off soon after. Tanus had to think of a way to get the troops out of this before they were filled with tibanna gas. Then Tanus saw it: A heavy Onderonian repeater carbine. Tanus picked it up from one of the dead Onderonian Guard. He closed the man's still open eyes. He then got Lucky and Alan's attention, as they were on the other side of the hall. Tanus opened up a channel between them.

"Listen. This gun has enough fire power to ounch through light airspeeder armor at full charge. When I give the signal, you make a run for. I'll hold them for as long as I can, then I'll join you if I'm not dead."

Alan and Lucky protested, But Tanus was rigid; he would do this his own way. Tanus put the carbine to full charge. He waited several seconds to make sure the others were ready. Then he made his move.

"Run. NOW!"

As they moved out, Tanus turned around the corner, unloading with the carbine. Bolts of red shot off in random directions, some not even hitting the rebels at all. Fortunately, the rebels weren't doing much better; they were so surprised by Tanus' move that that they had no time to react, and couldn't get a bead on Tanus through his hail of blaster fire. The first shot hit its mark after thirty seconds into the onslaught. Tanus' withering barrage had managed to bring down one of the rebels. The others, daunted by this, started to give ground. Tanus walked forward, gun still blazing, feeling the heat of the gun burning in his hands.

The second and third rebels fell with many shots of burning tibanna gas in the torsos. The other two stood shoulder-to-shoulder, trying to concentrate their fire on Tanus. Tanus saw numerous blasts whiz by him; some grazed his armor leaving black scorch marks on its pristine whiteness. The it happened: a stray bolt hit Tanus in the leg. Tanus went down on one knee, but kept firing his rifle. All the while the rebels were having a hard time keeping Tanus down. Finally after several minutes, the remaining two pirates went down. Tanus threw down the heavy assault rifle, his hands and leg throbbing. When he came limping back to the group, Alan saw the wound on Tanus leg. As Alan and Lucky ran over, Tanus fell back against a wall.

"You OK," Alan asked, concern in his voice.

"I think so," Tanus said. "Just hand me a med pack and some stims. I'll be all right until this is over with."

Alan nodded and had one of the guards get a med pack. When he came back, Tanus wrenched it open and applied the healing agent and some SynthSkin. He then applied the stims and painkillers so he could walk with out much effort. Then Tanus checked his rifle and pistol; both had full charge. Tanus looked over his armor: it had black scorch marks and a hole on his left thigh plate. Tanus shouldered his rifle and moved through the guards with Alan and Lucky close behind.

"The throne room is just ahead. Let's end this"

And with that, the group made their way forward, walking into the fight of their lives.

Commander Bashan paced feverishly back and forth across the throne room, he was getting concerned.  The Elite Force should have been back by now he thought to himself.

"Report" he barked to one of his officers.

The officer looked back at him nervously "still no contact from the squad sir"

This was not good thought Bashan.

"Give it up" said the Queen as she overheard their conversation.  "You have lost, leave now and your lives will be spared".

Bashan sneered at her "I never lose my dear Queen".  Bashan then told the Queen his plans and the Queens jaw dropped and her eyes filled with fear.

Before she could say anything, Lucky dived in and started firing at the rebels.  Instantly rebel upon rebel started falling.  Soon after Tanus and Alan dove in and started firing also.  Bashan knew when his welcome was over and started running down a back passage, his troops giving their lives for his escape.

Lucky dashed over to the Queen to protect her.  "You're safe now" said Lucky.

The Queen looked up at her and replied "no, we're not safe in the slightest.

Tanus and Alan quickly finished off the remaining rebels.

"Job well done" said Alan

"Right back at you" replied Tanus.

"Um guys" said Lucky, "I think you should hear this".

Tanus and Alan looked round to see the Queen with Lucky.

The Queen spoke, her voice shaken slightly.  "The Commander of this rebel force told me that he has planted enough explosives in the catacombs of the Palace to ensure that it is completely levelled".

"We have to disarm the explosives" said Tanus hastily.  He had risked too much to see the beloved palace become a pile of rubble".

"There's no time" replied Alan "we have to stop this Commander before he has a chance to activate the bombs".

"He's right Tanus" added Lucky

"All right, lets double time it and get to this Commander before its too late" replied Tanus.

With that Tanus, Lucky and Alan gave chase to Commander Bashan.

Why is nothing ever easy thought Alan as he rushed down the corridor.

Bashan looked up at the sky, blood trickling down the side of his head as he watched the speeder plummet from the sky.  His speeder had crashed also but he was quick enough to get out of his speeder and launch a missile at the Imperial's speeder.  He was not about to give them a second chance to kill him.

Bashan got out the remote that would activate the explosives and destroy their beloved palace with their Queen hopefully still inside.  He pressed the button and listened for the roar of the explosion.  None came.  He pressed it again, nothing.

"Damn" he muttered to himself "it must have gotten damaged in the crash".  Bashan pulled out a datapad and looked over it thoroughly before moving through the forest.  Bashan had been very careful when his troops had first landed and he had ensured that several transmitters were concealed around the planet should he or his men need a hasty extraction.

"If I can get to the transmitter, I can use it to send the activation signal to the explosives" muttered Bashan, "then we will see who comes out of this the victor".  He sneered as he talked to himself and waded through the forest.

Elsewhere, Lucky, Tanus and Alan crawled out of their speeder.

"What happened?" queried Tanus as he stretched.

Lucky moved round to inspect the speeder and noticed the large crater.  "It looks like we were fired upon by some kind of missile".

Alan glanced over at Tanus and they both said one word "Bashan".

"Over here" called Lucky.

Tanus and Alan quickly moved through the forest to where Lucky was and there was Bashan's speeder.  Weapons drawn, they advanced slowly, checking it out and finding it completely empty.

"Damn it, he got away" muttered Alan.

"Wait a minute" said Lucky "we are far enough away from the palace and I haven't heard any explosion.  If Bashan is alive he would have activated the explosive by now.  Either he can't or there never were any explosives in the first place".

Alan relaxed and leaned against the speeder "then it's over".

Tanus looked over at Lucky and then at Alan and said "you really want to risk the lives of the Queen, her guards and anyone else inside the palace on the assumption that Bashan either can't detonate the explosive or there weren't any in the first place!  I can't accept that, if he is out there then there is a risk that he might carry out what he threatened to do".

"So what's the plan?" queried Alan.

"We find him and we end this" replied Tanus.

"Look" said Lucky, "there are tracks leading away from here".

"Let's go" said Tanus.

With that, Tanus, Lucky and Alan set off, hot on the heels of Bashan to once and for all put and end to his reign of terror.

Tanus walked the trail behind Bashan's footprints, his arms shaking in both anger and excitement. His rifle was shaking violently in his claw like grip. Lucky put her hand on his shoulder to calm him down.

"Tanus, relax, we'll get him. One way or the other, we'll get him."

Tanus nodded at this; he wouldn't stop until Bashan lay dead at his feet. He stopped thrashing so much and calmed down. He looked up to the trees above, hearing the sounds of a forest he had not been to in some time.

Tanus sighed. "I know we will. And I have you two to thanks for that. But I just want to catch him and make him pay for what he's done."

Lucky nodded and Alan nodded too. They trekked even further into the forest, searching for Bashan.

The forest surrounding Iziz was older than the city itself. For a time, it was used to exile political enemies and war criminals, until these exiles tamed the wild beasts of the forest and used them to bring war on Iziz. However, approximately 4,000 years ago, A Beast Rider and the Queen married, making a peace between the two groups that lasted for centuries.

Tanus remembered the forest well, as a boy he had explored it with his father, learning the ways to hunt and track game. It was the first time Tanus had ever held a rifle, and the first time he had ever killed. But it assuredly wasn't the last. Tanus walked through the dense forest, knocking underbrush out of the way with his rifle, carefully watching Bashan's tracks. Then Tanus knelt down next to a rock with a red viscous substance on it. Tanus ran his fingers along it and brought it up to his T-Visor and smudged it between his fingers.

"This is blood. Bashan's come this way. We can't be far behind. Let's double time it." Tanus got up from the crouching position and ran forward, Lucky and Alan not far behind. When they exited the forest, Tanus saw a man in the distance running across the field. He put the sniper scope of the DC-15 in its station and looked through.

"It's Bashan!" Tanus exclaimed. He took the barrel off the rifle& the dropped the rifle to the ground. Then he dropped his pistol to the ground as well. Finally, his helmet fell and bounced across the green earth.

"BASHAN!" Tanus yelled.

Bashan turned, a look of anger and surprise on his face. Tanus stopped in the center of the field. He dropped into his Neija combat stance and gestured at Bashan.

"C'mon, we've all got to die sometime," Tanus uttered.

[NOTE: Guys, there are more rebels in the forest and what have you. Just go in there and route them. I'll join you after i do this incredibly cliched fight scene.]
