The groups went along the hallways slowly but fast enough that they wouldn't run out of time. They had almost the halfway point. Most of the pirates hadn't tried shooting at them but accepted death when it came gracefully. They knew they weren't making it out alive.

Warren's group was slightly ahead and had reached the next door when a sharp clicking noise sounded throughout the hall.

"Shit." Trevor looked around knowing the sound was not a good one. Then another sound...It sounded like someone slowly letting the air out of a balloon. Art walked over to an air vent and put a hand in front, expecting to feel the air being released. No such feeling occurred.

"They shut the air off on us..." Warren's voice echoed throughout the hallway. They had only minutes to reach the hanger and not a lot of air. The irony of it all. We shut the air off on them and we get the same payment in return. Tokijin looked around and took a deep breath, sucking in as much air as her lungs could hold. Jen noticed and did the same. Instantly everyone had enough to keep them going and they went into the next hallway running for their lives.

The air was slowly escaping them and Toki felt as though her lungs were on fire. She had to keep going. She hoped everyone would. They entered the next hallway. Only one more left before they reached the hanger. Unaimed shots were whizzing past their heads but no one cared. The pirates in the halls shared the same fate they did but the they weren't going to do anything about it.

Thoughts rushed through Toki's head as they literally ran for their lives. They turned off the air on their own comrades. She knew Art made the right choice in choosing to turn off the air. But as she looked around she could tell her friends were suffering just as much as those other pirates did. Damn it. We have to make it out alive...We can't die here. Toki began feeling lightheaded as they reached the hanger. They burst through the door only to find the air was shut off here to. Toki could feel the air escaping her. They kept running as each person had their only escape in sight. They just had to make it...But would they?

Smart and suicidal; a powerful combination Art thought to himself as he realized the air was quickly being bled out of the area.  He began to conserve his oxygen use; he moved methodically rather than hurriedly to prevent a need for excess air and he spoke only when necessary and even then it was in short concise statements.  Now was not the time for hot air; there wasn't any air to heat anyhow.

They finally reached the hanger; the enemy had simply given up and resorted to lying in the hallway, hand on their throats, accepting their fate.  Accepting their fate...  Art thought, that is one lesson I still have to learn he realized.  Accepting one's fate was the honourable and dignified way to live life and accept death; Art had trouble embracing this but would continue to work on it.  It was something that was supposed to come naturally; one was supposed to accept and believe in the lessons but his overactive mind questionned too much.  His skepticism was in conflict with his religion constantly.  Art's solution was to begin approaching it by diverting his skepticism to people; he trusted no one and wasn't apologetic about it.  Those he trusted knew it and he gave them his complete respect.  He was a good friend to true friends and an enemy to everyone else.

The hanger was empty of enemies.  No one had tried to enter once the lifesupport systems had been turned back on it seemed.  The squadron raced into the hanger and ran towards their fighters and oxygen.  Art turned to look back and saw Toki stumble and stagger.  The loss of oxygen made Art feel very lightheaded and he couldn't think straight; he could discern though that Toki needed oxygen badly as it was clearly affecting her ability to function.  He tried to call out to Jen and Jaden who were the closest to her but he knew he needed the air to carry him to his fighter.  Jen and Jaden had turned back towards Toki so Art continued towards his fighter.

Just before he reached it, he saw a cluster of pirates in various positions suffering from a loss of oxygen as well.  They were all armed; clearly sent to investigate and guard against escape.  Art saw three in front of his fighter; he slung his blaster in front of him and fired as he ran.  Nothing happened.  Art tossed the gun aside and kept running.  He swung his right arm around at the first enemy before spinning around and catching the second in the face with his left foot.  He staggered on his landing; something that normally wouldn't happen with proper oxygen, and leaned forward to deliver his right elbow into the face of the final guard as he ran past.  Not even bothering to turn and see if any pursued, he stumbled to his fighter and climbed in as quickly as his oxygen starved body and injured arm would allow.  Inside, he thought of nothing but turning on the support systems.  Oxygen began to move in the cockpit while he reached down to his secondary support system that he had rigged into the fighter.  Like the old fighters, he also had an oxygen mask as a safety measure in case he had to eject or if his cockpit was punctured and the oxygen began to bleed out.  He pushed the mask onto his face and his body began to breath in quick short breaths as the oxygen flowed into his body.  Once his lungs stopped the convulsive like breathing, he took several deep breaths before strapping in and preparing to leave.  It was time to return home.

Tokijin staggered through the door, hand at her throat and gasping for air when Art began waving wildy to Jaden and Jen to go back for thier fellow pilot.  Jaden turned, still well provided with air, and began a comfortable jog to Tokijin's side with Jen close behind, starting to lose what little breath she had.

Jaden slid on the crummy surface to Tokijin's him and watched her for a moment, a llittle confused.  All at once he began to bend down toward her lips in a delicate fashion...  Jen tapped him on the shoulder surprised, jumping just a little as she began to lose the oxygen at a faster rate.

"I can save her..." he declared without looking back up at Jen and began to lean down toward her again, Jen jumping up and down now.  Jaden pressed his hands to her jaw and tried to get her jaw open but found it a little strange and fumbled about awkwardly with it when Jen placed a good kick into his side, forcing some of the air out.

"Pick her up..." she whispered out and began to sprint back to her fighter, not worrying about wasting any more oxygen.  Jaden scowled at the idea and looked as if he would try for another attempt but then he too began to feel the pressure cease him as the air depleted in his own lungs.  Jaden slid his right hand underneath the young woman's legs and his other behind her back and barelly lifted her.  The oxygen was really getting to him quickly...

"Crap..." he whisped out as he realized that the long run, really about twenty feet, would be too much today...  I can't beleive I die trying to give Toki the kiss of life...  This sucks...  Then, out of the corner of his bloodshot eyes he noticed the lift to the command deck.  For a moment Jaden thought about dropping his desperate comrade in the hopes of reaching the oxygen rich enviroment above, but then his concious kicked him in the groin and he realized he'd be worse if he survived without her....

Jaden's forefinger slid against the panel, peeling about for the 'upper floor' button when it finally made contact.  The light glowed for a moment, the panic ceasing in Jaden's body as the two doors flew open.  The pilot dropped Tokijin into the elevator lazilly and drooped to the inside of the elevator- no oxygen yet.

Jaden watched his robot arm continue to function without a problem, blaster in hand, as the lift rose with a start.  The two door were open again and oxygen flooded into room, creating a burning sensation the way to his lungs.

"Well, shoot 'em!" he heard and maybe he thought they were telling him to shoot at the man with the gun in front of him, so he began to fire like crazy.  Surprisingly, the gun in his hand came to life and recoiled into the wall the first shot.  That single bolt made perfect contact with the weakened glass to the right of the young man and his pistol.  Tokijin had suddenly opened her eyes and was gasping for air just as the glass shattered.

The fellow with the pistol began to run toward his comrade who was trying to find the correct key on his chain for a long cabinet on the far wall.  Jaden was up, taking a few full breaths of what would be gone in only a few moments once again.  Tokijin realized that she was breathing rather quickly and ceased immedietly, taking long, full and calm breaths.  She crawled out of elevator awkwardly, realizing her legs weren't working at the moment; the man with the pistol from earlier was only a foot from her.  As the oxygen left the room, Tokijin changed modes.  No longer would she just wither and die like the pirates she'd passed in the hall.  No...  It was time to fight...

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhh!" The fellow with the pistol screamed Tokijin ripped off her belt and used the sharpened of the bukle to thrash the back end of the man's leg.  She wiggled her toes as Jaden peered at the scene in utter amazement.

"Crazy bitch..." he nodded his head with a smile as the enemy fell to the ground.  Tokijin found her legs were now working somewhat and took no time in throwing her knee at the side of the man's head.  His eyes rolled around amusingly until his eyelids slammed shut...

"Ron, I got it!" the other man at the cabinet said as he swung one of the doors open.

"Got what?" Tokijin answered back for some reason.

"Ron?" he turned around and met two seering bolts, perfectly penetrating his forehead.

"Sorry...  Ron's dead..." she said and crawled at an even faster rate to the cabinet which had several breathing mask.

"Gimme one of those!" Jaden yelled from the far corner as Tokijin took hold of one for herself.  She eyed it, then threw it over to Jaden as best she could, grabbing another with her free hand...

The rubber-band like attachment slid down her hair uncomfortably and she would have minded had the air not been diminishing continuously around her.  Her white hands found the switch alongside the mask and the air rushed in.  Tokijin and Jaden looked at eachother, exhausted...

--Five minutes later--

"Nazgul two checking in...."

"Three here..."

"Five here...  Looks like we've got a few late arrivals..." Jen said as she noticed Tokijin's haggard look.  Was that blood all over her belt-buckle?  Must have been from the tortue earlier.  Jaden followed closely behind with two packets of food rashions, stuffing them into his mouth.  They were the ones with vanilla surroundings and a whip-cream core.  His mask was slung underneath his neck and he ate the food comfortably.  Thought I would never see the day again... he thought, enjoying the treats to his full ability as he met the side of his interceptor.

Two bolts sounded in the hanger and Jaden turned, dropping his treats abruptly to the ground.  A few men from the ground had found life-support somehow and where now armed with blasters and a breathing mask...

"GO!" Jaden shouted to Tokijin who had paused at the hatchin in her fighter as he dropped around his fighter to reach the otherside and make for some cover as he jumped into his TIE.  Art was the first to disengage from rack, everyone following him closely as four fighters came to life below them.

"Interceptors as well..." Jaden noted as he narrowly missed two crimson bolts, dropping into his cockpit comfortably.

(Aiight, we'll take these guys out...  Mind you their on our asses and they're pretty good pilots...  Fill in your own near-death experience on the way to the hanger and your fighter...  :>)

*** Back in the hallway, right as life support goes***

Trevor heard the hissing, and a dissapointed look crossed his face. He should have totaled the terminal or something, to prevent them from doing this. He saw other`s taking a deep breath of air, and he did the same, then followed them down the hall, blaster bolts wizzing past them, but then the bolts stopped. The pirates around them had given up, and were slowly dieing, probably laughing inside at the Nazgul pilots as they tried to save themselves.

They think we are crazy...Well, I`m not going to say they are wrong... Trevor thought to himself, then smiled inwardly. He wasn`t going to think about what would happen if they didn`t make it...It was not the way to keep going. They rounded a final corner and Trevor punched the code for the door into the keypad as fast as he could, damaging the 'Accept' button because he hit it so hard. The door slid open and Trevor expected to be able to breathe again, but he couldn`t.

He looked behind him and saw Toki fall, and was about to turn back, but saw Jaden and Jen had beaten him to it. He turned back towards the fighters, and saw that there were guards, struggling to keep themselves alive. Trevor took a few badly aimed shots at the guards near his fighter, and didn`t care if they went down.

He dove for his fighter, and crawled in quickly. His lungs felt as if they were going to explode, or collapse..One of the two. He shut the hatch above him and started flipping switches franticly, listening as each system came online. Right when he thought he was going to pass out, he took a deep breath. Oxygen filled his lungs, and he quickly took in a few more breaths, then slowed his breathing. Breathe to fast and he would pass out.

After a few seconds of enjoying being able to breathe again, he slipped on his gloves and helmet, and then waited.

"Nazgul two checking in..." Art`s voice came over the comm.

"Three here...Lets rock and roll." Trevor said, smiling. Everyone else called in, and Art disingaged. Trevor followed, and he was followed by some others, and eventualy everyone was out of the hanger, breathing normal.

"Yee-haw!" Trevor said loudly into the comm. "We`re out!"

"I wouldn`t start celebrating yet there Trevor," Jen`s voice came over the comm, muich more serious then his own. "We`ve got fighters on our six!."

(OOC: I don`t want to start the fight right now...I`ll let someone else do that)

Darius turned around, making sure there weren't followers.  He turned back and everybody was gone.  What the hell, Darius thought to himself.  Nazgul had deserted him.  He started running, not realizing that the life support systems had been shut off.  He still had his helmet on, and didn't notice to the blinking dot in the corner saying that his helmet's air supply was running.

Covering their trail, Darius planted a couple concussion grenaded with with a motion sensor.

Soon enought, he had made it into the hanger, and noticed Jaden was trying to give Toki a kiss.  Jen kicked him in the side, and they began running again, scrambling towards their fighters, only to stop and fight some more pirates.

Darius went over to each door leading to the hanger, and lined each one with explosives.

His was running toward the last one when the first Nazgul took off.  He stopped and ran toward his fighter and prepped it for flight.

He was planning on asking what was going on with that "kiss" after they got back.  Before he took off, and beeping sound went off in his head.  He examined the HUD and discovered that his air supply was gone.  "What the hell was going on out there?" he muttered to himself.

(During the last part of Shazam's post...)

With Nazgul Squadron in the hangar now, Jack waited patiently for the squadron check to go by. The loss of life-support had been a problem, and Jack had even thought he had died, but things were going smoothly now.

Except for the fact that they were being shot at by some enemies. Jumping into his TIE interceptor, he started the pre-flight check and reported in.

"Nazgul Nine, reporting," Jack said, getting the engines of his TIE ready. Art was now out of the hangar, and Jack and the rest of the squadron soon followed.

Jaden then said, "Interceptors as well..." as crimson bolts flashed by their fighters.

"This should be interesting," Jack said to himself, remarking on both the battle and the fact that his eyesight was going bad... again.

Jack quickly made a small and fast manuever that brought him closer to the enemy interceptors. He fired a few bolts, all of which missed, but this was intended. It was a manuever he had used during his time with the Auroran Defense Fleet. Designed to punch a hole in an enemy formation, it did exactly that - causing the fighters to head directly for the Nazgul fighters.

Suddenly, one enemy disappeared.

"Got it," Jen, Nazgul's Executive Officer, said over the comm.

"Nice one," Arturus replied, despite the fact that he had been removed by Jen as leader of the mission, due to Jen's squadron position.

(Okay, it's a start. And thanks, Art.)

For a long moment the stars whirled around tirelessly without a definate shape, gossomar strands of lights illiuminating the triangular interier of the interceptor.  Then the craft haulted abruptly, seemingly spellbound by the magnificent portrait hung in front of it.  The mSSD Atrus drifted casually but in it's proud manner that had brought fear to so many souls.  Very little gives a pilot as much pride as their warship, their king taking the thrown...  '"BEEEP!!!"

The indicator lights above Art's head signified the incoming missle and the sensor array facing toward the back of the ship showed a fast approaching object...  My missile... Art was using his devestated arm as little as possible, but his wounds could heal later.  The injured arm extended to the right, taking hold of his lateral controls while his feet gripped the pedals below feircly.  "Here goes..."  The pilot pulled back hard on the yoke while spinning his craft as well as could be expected.  He let himself fall into his harnesses; no need to waste energy resisting he thought as he tried to keep his eyes focused on the view port.

"Be careful, two!" Jen shouted into the com as the fighter got away from Art just a little, throwing him between Jaden and Jack.  As they had launched the pilots were split up according to their condition.  Jack's condition wasn't at a life-threatening degree, just a disabling one seeings how his droid arm was totally useless.  "It's a bit foolish trying to dog fight with one arm, don't you think?" Jen had mentioned when he denied his inability to fight.  Jen was obviously a little messed because her hand had been pretty well dominated during the torture and Art's gash was just not something to try and fly with.  Jaden had come along to make sure they had some cover on their way to the Atrus, but two of the four enemy interceptors had broken off immedietly to pursue the escort.  Two interceptors against one wasn't exactly what Jaden had thought he was going to be doing when told to 'escort.'

"Missle disengaged," Art announced as the lights no longer blinked for hazard.

"Don't be too sure...  These guys arn't bad..."  Jaden noted as he broke off of the group to pursue the interceptor that had decided to fire on Art.  The second of the two was just completing its loop, completing a strafing run a moment before.

"I got another lock on me..." Art announced as the light flared up.

"Hold on two..." Warren's calm voice filled the quiet com line when no one answered.

"It's alright Dimmias, I got it under control..."  He would rather not accept any help from him if he could help it.  Art pulled up hastilly, father above than the formation than he would have liked to be when he realized he had called a pilot by his real name.  He would have slapped himself if he could have.  I'm ganna get court martialed... he nearly chuckled, noticing that his own dislike for someone had clouded his own basic common sense.

"Break when I say..." Warren said calmy, not seeming to notice the blurted name.  Art checked the posterior sensor for the enemy fighter to find that it was honed well in on him.  Where was Warren though?

"Break towards your formation that is..." Warren added from out of no where once again.

"Listen, I'm fine...  You need to go help your own group...  Lieutenant..." He paused and with his own curiosity said," Where are you?"

"Break now, two..."  Warren replied with the same sangfroid he'd kept intact throughout the entire mission.  Art would have to follow his directions for now, but it didn't mean he would have to look as decrepit as Warren was making him out to be.  The pilot's feet near stomped on the pedal system below with his injured hand forcing the lateral controls hard to the left.  A shock sprung up his arm as it met the side of the border which held the sliders...  He ignored it as best he could and pulled up hard on the yoke, relying on his straps once again.  Blood sprayed across the front view port as his gash reopened in all its gory splendor.  Great...

"WOW!"  Jaden said with such a profoundly genuine tone that Art had to check over his shoulder to see out the posterier veiwport.  His ship stabalized as the missle lock went dead, his eyes meeting the back viewport just in time to see Dimmias's fighter come down at a ninety degree angle to the enemy interceptor.  The bolts had been too fast to see, but after Warren disappeared from view, the ship shuddered and convulsed strangly with a sudden super nova emitting from its core, blowing peices of the ship in ever direction.  Art barrel rolled with his bleeding arm in an effort to keep his ship as far away from the shooting debris as possible.

"That was one hell of a drift..." Jack said in a similar tone to Jaden's.  Now Art realized what had just happened.  When Art broke off towards the formation, Warren had gone to cut him off, turning his ship so forcefully that it faced downward upon the sweeping craft below.  The reverse in thrust slowed Warren down pretty well, but it gave him just enough time to let his fighter catch up and send it on a downward sprint onto the top of the enemy interceptor.  An advanced manuver not well defined at the academy...

"You take the other one, four..."  Warren said as if nothing special at all had happened.

"Hold still for a minute seven," Dj ordered Tokijin.  Toki was having a hard time understanding how she could 'hold still' when she was under heavy fire by a pretty advanced pilot.  Where were these people when we were takin out the life-support?  "This guy is all over the place, I need him to get his target for a second...  Hold still!"

"NOT GANNA HAPPEN!"  Toki was becoming a little angry now and decided to flat out evaid.  Her right hand stayed on the slides, preparing for the next series of shots while she pulled up strongly on the control yoke.  The stars sprinted downward as two bolts of bright green shot past her, one making contact with the sheilds before she could throw the stabalizers to the side, forcing her into a fast yet slowly moving to the right barrel roll.  The increase in spin worked against her as she tried to keep control of her and try to figure out a way to keep from being fried.

"There ya go!" Dj announced as the back row of lights in the upper portion of her cockpit flash red.

"He's got a lock...  C'mon...  Help me out here people..."  Her right hand slowly pulled the lateral controls into a stable position, granting her true control of the craft once again.

"Come up fast, seven.  Break off eight and come straight up at about seventy-percent..." Warren's voice was around them once again.  Darius was in the process of pulling out of a hard dive, allowing Trevor to cut off the target and get him into the weapons envelope, but he wanted to get a glimpse of what would come next so he pulled out as soon as Trevor confirmed the missle lock.  I'd have to move out anyways, but I'll be able to see when I loop back arou...

"Keep comin seven..." Warren ordered with an unreal calm in hist voice, not hastey at all.  Tokijin did as she was told with the same remarkable control, waving off the dazed feeling she thought would overcome her if she tried such a manuver.

"Alright, make as tight of a turn as you can, bringing your fighter across eight's flight path..."

"I got it ten...  A little easier than I thought it would be..." he began but Warren cut him off in almost a whisper.

"Prepare to evaid eight..."

"Uh, what?"  He checked his posterier viewport to see nothing but then threw the lateral controls a little to the right as he pulled up hard.  "WHOA!"  Tokijin's pursuer had broken off, continuing it's loop to come head first at Dj.  As Dj was realigned, the interceptor fell in behind him, taking his shots carefully and barelly missing.

"Pick up a little speed and break eight.  Seven, take three's pursuer head on..." Warren noted the unseen pursuer that had forced his hand when Dj had been climbing to take down his target.  Trevor's first missile had been thrown off by a late release so his target stayed alive as Darius looped around to get on his wing.  As Dj had climbed, the enemy interceptor was doing a similar number on him.  Tokijin's sudden freedom had given her excellent position though, turning hard to come the opposing direction of the enemy fighter.

"Breaking..." Dj announced and rolled left until he was upside down and then pulled back hard on the yoke, the craft drifting just slightly before it began a downward descent.  Dj felt pretty confident with the manuver seeing no danger of colliding with other craft or foreign matter...  Just gotta take the pressure now he thought and picked up his speed as he dropped.  The pursuing fighter tried to pull the same manuver, but too late...

"Missle lock...  Firing."  He had been moving the two knobs at his right into position as Dj manuvered downward.  Considering he'd done it in about a second and fired just as it was completed...

"Not bad, ten." Darius announced as he spun off to the left, trying to get out of the way of any cross fire that might occur.

"Just take him out seven..." Warren urged Tokijin on, herself a little unsure as she switched from cannons to missles.  Her hands were a little sweaty as she flashed the knobs around at the incoming target.  Oh gosh...  He's already firing."

"Just trust your instincts seven..." Warren chimed in again.  Art felt the need to pipe up, but with the intensity he decided he'd better not disturb Tokijin's focus.  The first knob was aligned, the enemy spiraling toward her with bolts flying about wildy.  Her hand slipped on the second knob, recovering hastilly to start turning it into position.  Don't move...  Don't move...

"Missle lock..." The lines stuck together as the fighter neared and began to moved up and down a little.  Too late, bud...  "Firing!"  Tokijin clicked the trigger confidently and pulled off to the left, not bother to touch the control yoke.  No lift needed here she noticed as Darius and Trevor pulled up and away.  The missle went straight through the cockpit of the sheildless interceptor.

"Great job, seven..." Warren seemed truly satisfied by the pilot's work as the last fighter was shreaded and fell apart in quickly extinguished flames...

(To the Atrus?)

Jaden fought to keep the interceptor tight in formation.  He was scrambling around the cockpit, looking for the two remaining fighters.  The targeting computer was showing two blips about 2 klicks off to the right.

"10, try to tango with those fighters while I get a missile lock," said Jaden, "2 and 7, keep on a steady course for the Atrus."

"Affirmative," called back Toki in a hushed voice.  Jaden could tell she was having a hard time.  The short supply of oxygen was still manipulating her movement in the fighter.  Art was now in such a condition that he could barely make out words through the com system.

"2, you there?" called Jaden, "2?"

The fighter was flying straight, which was odd, because Art never flew in a straight line.  Jaden checked his targetting computer for any system failure signs in Arts fighter.  All systems were go.

"2, if you can hear me, move to the port," said Jaden

There was no movement.  Something was wrong.

Warren immediately took off for the fighters.  The sweat was building up on his hands as he took the throttle controls.  After pulling a stunt like he just did, he was lucky to still be flying.  He could just see it now, all of the congratulations he would get after the mission.

Come on Dimmias, you are jumping to conclusions.  How do you know if you will even make it back....

Soon enough, he had a missile lock on the first target.  He took the shot with ease, but the fighter banked and released a chaff.  The missile exploded a few feet behind the fighter, sending it winding forward, out of control.  Warren took the opportunity and let off 5-6 shots at the fighter.  The bolts ripped through the hull, crippling the fighter.

"One down," said Warren, "4, whats the problem with 2?"

"I think he's.....unconcious.  He's lost a lot of blood you know," said Jaden.

"What do we do?"

"Think"

(Okay, just a little something during the battle... It's me against an enemy fighter.)

"Jack, you've got one on your tail," someone said. Jack couldn't tell who it was because there were bolts flying like crazy around his TIE interceptor.

"Thanks for letting me know," Jack replied. He quickly made a quick turn to avoid a few bolts. "Whoever it is, I'm dead if I don't shake him off."

Jack made a complicated manuever, one that made him even lose direction. Right now, he could be headed anywhere. But the enemy was still on his tail.

"He's good..." Jack said as a bolt flew over his cockpit. Suddenly, one scorched the side of his right radiator pannel.

"He's really good..." Jack corrected. He was now headed back closer to the rest of the battle, but he couldn't go directly ahead. But he had been in the Auroran Defense Fleet, where suicidial manuevers had been trained to the new recruits.

"Control the fighter as if the Force was controlling it..." the instructor aboard the Nebulax's Fist had taught. He had been both a great instructor and a strong believe in the Force, but had been removed from his position when there was talk he had supplied a pirate gang clearance codes to land inside the Star Destroyer flagship.

Still, he had been the greatest piloting instructor ever.

Too bad he was shot six times by the Auroran Planetary Police... Jack recalled as more bolts flew by.

Suddenly back from the memories, Jack attempted another manuever, and soon the enemy craft was right in front of him.

"I have you now!" Jack yelled, sending bolts straight into the rear of the enemy fighter. It exploded right away, sending scraps of metal throughtout the empty void of space.

"Scratch one enemy," Jack said proudly into the comm.

"I think he's.....unconcious.  He's lost a lot of blood you know," said Jaden.

"What do we do?"

"Think"

"Atrus, we need a tractor beam lock on Nazgul two," came Darius' voice with a solution.  "He's believed to be unconscious and has lost a tremendous amount of blood.  Nazgul 6 out."

"Copy, target is in range," replied a confident crew member.  A blue streak lanced out from the SSD and hit Art's TIE.  It began to lose momentum and eventually came to a halt, which allowed the Atrus to pull it in with a tractor beam.

Darius was swithing targets on his targetting screen when an enemy fighter cut in front of him.  Where are you going so fast?, Darius thought to himself, and veered hard to his left and follow the fighter.

As he adjusted the nobs controlling his laser convergence and power, he realized the enemies goal.  Art was a sitting duck, and he was going to turn him into space dust if nobody stopped him.

The enemies fighter bobbed back and forth in his targetting computer sights, and Darius was trying to lock a missile, but he was running out of time.  If he missed with a laser, it was going to hit defenseless Art.

He put his dilema behind him, and took a shot.  He let out a sigh of relief when the it made contact, and the fighter broke off ever so slighty, still not eliminating Art from his last goal before death.  The the pirate realized something, he wasn't going to live, so he turned himself into a suicide bomber.  His fighter picked up increble speed, had no lasers, shields, or anthing else for that matter.

Darius took was last shot, and closed his eyes, momentarily.  The ship shuddered from an explosion, and he held his breath.  When he opened his eyes again, the enemy was gone, and Art remained.  Making sure this didn't happen again, Darius began circling defenseless Art and requested a scramble of fighters to help Nazgul finish off the enemy.

Trevor was pretty quiet over the comm. He prefurred to concentrait rather than talk. Not that he couldn`t keep his mind on things when he was talking. He just did it better when he wasn`t. His only comments over the comm where confirmations and standard things, and occasionaly a whoop whenever something unexcpected happened, but these were usually not ment to go over the comm.

He had been listened and heard about Art, and saw Darius take out a fighter that had attempted an assult on Art`s defensless fighter.

"Good on ya..." Trevor said quietly to himself. He was sort of lost right at the moment. He couldn`t find a target, and there wern`t many left anyways. He checked his targeting computer and only counted a few more fighters left, most being chased.

"This is 7. I need a hand over here. I can`t shake this one." He heard Toki`s voice come over the comm. She was heading for the Atrus, but with how good these pilots were, without help she might not make it.

"I`m on my way..." Trevor said as he sped up and flew right out infront of an enemy. It was one of the few who wasn`t being chased, and it launched itself after him. Trevor swore lightly under his breath, but was hoping to find a way to use this to his advantage.

He kept his pursuer busy as he made his way to where Tokijin was, and let off a single blast at her pursuer, but missed. He had managed to get the pilot`s attention though, and the pilot turned off Tokijin`s tail, but then thought against it and returned to following her.

"Seven, this is three. Do you copy?" Trevor said hurridly into the comm. He had to tell her his plan before either of them got shot down, or before it escaped his mind.

"I copy." She said over the comm, making a funny noise at the end as she turned hard to the right to avoid the fighters blasting.

"Alright. Here`s my idea. You gotta get turned around and flying towards me, as fast as you can. We gotta make them think we are going for a suicide collision or something. Then, at the last second, I want you to pull up hard and to the left, While I go down and to the right. Hopefully they will still be following close when we pull this off." He said, a grein appearing on his face, no one else could see.

"Lets try it." She replied, sounding as if she understood, but a bit of caution in her voice. She shrugged it off though, and made a wide loop. She was now barreling towards Trevor, her pursuer still right on her tail, but he had stopped firering. He was now just trying to figure out what was going on. Trevor didn`t blame him.

Trevor`s follower was still firering, but missed most of the time. The occasional bolt would hit his shields, but not enough to do anything. He had reached top speed now, and his follower was keeping right on his ass.

Perfect Trevor thought to himself. He then started to mentally count down to himself, and right when he thought it was the perfect time, he said 'now' calmly into the comm, and pushed the control yolk down, and not bothering to barrel to the right, kept going downwards, hoping Toki had heard him. His fighter was rocked by an explosion, and he spun his fighter around as he slowed down to take a look.

He could see Toki flying off above him, and a large fireball where the two enemies had collided.

"Thats two you owe me Toki..." Trevor laughed into the comm, a smile accross his face, as he went off to look for another target.

Squadrons of TIE fighters poured out of the SSD.  The pirate fighters were almost wiped out.  A confident, gruff voice was heard over the com, "Attention Nazgul, you can return to the hanger.  Let the rest of our fighters finish off the enemy."

DJ had a reply to the new order, "No disrespect sir, but I'm not one and start something and not finish it.  Requesting permission to continue in the fight."

There was a long pause, and the com officer answered back, "Request has been granted, but any Nazgul who is injured, and fatigued beyond the ability to fight must return.  That's an order."

"Copy that, Nazgul out," said DJ.  "You heard the man, anyone that can't or doesn't want to continue, head on back to the Atrus"

There was a long silence, but soon it was broken by Jen.  "Scratch one enemy," she said through gritted teeth.  "I'm staying out here until we're done."

"I'm going back," said Darius.  This surprised all of Nazgul.  Darius wasn't one usually to pull out of a fight.

Art was almost in the hanger, and he'd be damned if he wasn't ther to make sure he was alright.  This wasn't the first time he had saved the man.

"Ok," Jen said.  She and the rest of Nazgul eventually understood was Darius was doing, and the story behind the relationship between him and Art.

Darius pulled a u-turn and flew straight for the hanger.  He went through the standard landing procedures as fast as he could and roughly landed his TIE in the docking claws and threw his helmet.  He burst through the hatch faster than it could open and gashed his head on the corner.  He didn't even notice.

He ran down and over to Art and a medical crew was pulling him out of his fighter and hooking him up to diagnostic systems.  On the outside, Darius appeared absolutely emotionless, but on the inside, he was worried.

Soon enough, he was telling the staff what to do, and what appeared the be the head of the staff, a short, stout man with a mustache, turned and yelled at Darius.  "We're professionals, we know what we're doing!"

"I'm a professional to, so shut up." he answered back, not yelling and sounding emotionless.  Next, he ripped a datapad out of the man's hands and read Art's condition.  "Wake him up, I need to tell him something."

The medic turned, frustrated, and began to direct one of his assistants to revive Art.  He had lost a great deal of blood, but he would live and would have a short recovery.

Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain on the top of his head and old reactions took over.  His hand snapped out and grabbed a wrist, twisting in very painfully.

A young man's face filled with the look of pain as he dropped a bloody piece of gauze.  "I haven't broken your wrist...yet.  Now tell me what you're doing."

He struggled to speak through the pain.  "Sir, you're bleeding profusely out of a gash on your head.  It needs stitches and I was just trying to slow the bleeding."

Darius released his grip and returned his attention to Art.  He jerked conscious again but was struggling to maintain it.  Darius walked over and knelt down.  "You're lucky I'm always there to save you.  You owe me."  Art managed to smile and blacked out before he could reply.

The repulsor stretcher lifted, and the medics began rushing him to the medical center.  Unexpectedly, a gentle, familiar hand touched his head wound with a wad of qauze.  Darius put his right hand on the smaller one and held it there.  "I'm back dear."  Layren leaned against him and started to sob.  He comforted her and held her close.

Art's wife entered the hanger in a hurry, and her husband was rushed past her.  She was about follow them, but spotted Darius.  Assuming that he knew more on what was going on, the rushed over to him, fast.  When she got there, she almost crashed into him.  The anguished look on her face was all he needed to see to answer her many questions.

"He'll be fine.  He's lost a great deal of blood, but his recovery should be fast.  I'll tell you what happened once the rest of Nazgul returns."

The young woman appeared as though she didn't know was to do.  Then she began to cry and embraced Darius, thanking him.

"Where's Shazam, I need to talk to him," he asked.  Neither she nor Layren knew.

Jack, deciding it was best to head for the Atrus and see Alexia, flew his TIE interceptor into the hangar, shortly behind Darius. Quickly performing a standard landing, he got out of his fighter and rushed to Alexia, who was waiting at the entrance to the hangar bay.

"Jack!" she said, crying. "Look at you! You said this wasn't going to happen again!" She wasn't mad, Jack could tell. But from what Jack felt like, he couldn't look much better. His right eye, still bruised, was now only half-open, and Jack's mechanical right arm was busted. He had dry blood on his lips and below his nose, and a new scar on the right side of his face.

But he didn't care about what Alexia saw. He was still upset for going along in the first place, although he had - and still - had mixed feelings about it. But he was glad that he was back with Alexia.

"Luckily you're a medic," Jack joked as they walked away with R2-X7, who had recently joined them.

*An hour later*

Jack, still not looking much better, sat up on the bed in their quarters. Alexia was sitting next to him, and they were once again discussing their future.

"Jack, we should move back to Aurora Prime after Jason is born," Alexia said.

"Jason?" Jack said. "How did you think of that?"

"Willtconq," Alexia replied. "He was talking about someone name Jason and I like the name."

"So good old Kaph Commander Willtbast gave you our child's name," Jack said, laughing.

"Yeah," Alexia replied, smiling. "So, are we going to move back to Aurora Prime or not?"

"I think I could use a little vacation..." Jack said. But then, a thought hit him. My stepbrother... And then he remembered his mission. Finally making up his mind, Jack said, "I could always take a leave for a while." This made Alexia happy, but it also gave Jack the chance to hunt his stepbrother's killer. Of course, he could be far away from Aurora Prime by now, but there was always a chance.

I will avenge you, Jack said to himself.

(Okay, figured I'd get this in...)

Art had been moved to a separate room in the med center for recover and was laying comfortably with his eyes on Taylsha. He'd only been awake for five minutes and had said very little to the woman when the door was suddenly open.

"Sir!" Art sat up, pressing his good arm against the bed to straighten against his pillows. The straight laced man who looked taller than he really was walked slowly through the doorway. His dark hair kept a short, but straight laced temper that inspired fear into those who had never heard his name... A man of great admiration and sometimes thought to be the epitome of the imperial way- he stood before Art with an odd look in his eyes. Neither sad or happy, the look was of duty and honor.

"At ease... I've requested the executive officer as well as Lieutenant Dimmias to be here. Your past positions brings you into a powerful position- one which should not be dully noted..." Jen Knight came in through the door frame wearily, padding surrounding her hand. Art watched the feeble hand, some how forgetting about his own bacta treated arm.

"Sir..." she said upon entering. For a moment, Art thought that Japheth had re-entered, but then he realized there was a difference in height as well as facial features. The sharp eyes of Warren Dimmias met Art then flashed to Japheth.

"What's this all about if I might ask, Sir..." The commander glanced at Art and then nodded, stepping back a little so he could face them all at once.

"Lieutenant Shazam..." He peered at the group as if wondering if he should be careful with his words... The hesitancy seemed to have never existed though as a calm and confident look to over. "Commander of Nazgul Squadron, was declared dead on the scene of his accident in hanger bay two."

Art was totally still... His thoughts froze instantly... Japheth took this opportunity to continue. "He was incinerated by his craft and little remains of him. Unfortunately, there is no time for a funeral to take place at this time as we are currently preparing to jump to your original destination to finish up your mission." Everyone's eyes had turned hard, yet delicate, even Taylsha sensed the great loss without knowing the man very well.

"Jen Knight," he turned to look at her individually," You will not be Squadron Commander at this time. Despite your position, Warren Dimmias is far more qualified for the type of fighting you will see in a few hours. He has accepted the position for now..."

"Sir... Permission to speak freely?" Art was sitting up straight once again, thinking on what Shazam would have liked rather than thinking on what had just happened to him.

"Permission granted..." he said steadilly and aimed his eyes on Art with a powerful presence.

"Do you actually believe it would be best for someone who we've barely even flown with to become commander of Nazgul Squadron. And if I might inquire, why was I not given this position?"

He did not chuckle at the slightly self-absorbed segment at the end of his questioning, but instead answered with a an obvious, matter-of-fact tone. "Warren Dimmias was able to coordinate your men in an efficient way that makes me believe he is capable. You know his experience as well as I do, so I won't go into that. As for why you were not considered... Who says you haven't? Lieutenant Dimmias is only a temporary commander because the events transpiring are of emergency quality. Further command options will be introduced after your engagement. Any other questions?" Art was seemingly satisfied with the answer, but still frustrated, trying to keep his mind off of Shazam for the time being.

"Very well," Japheth said when no one made a single move. "You commander has been given his order and will divulge them to you at this time. I have other business to attend to at this point. Truly, I am sorry for your loss, but do try to keep your minds on the mission.  May the force be with you all..." And the military man was gone.

"There will be a briefing in exactly one hour. The rest of our fighters are being collected and a full medical examination will take place in our down time. The other members of the squadron will be informed of Lieutenant Shazam's death upon landing as well as whatever other information is to be presented at the time. I'll leave you to your thoughts..." Warren announced and left the room curtly. Leave us to our thoughts? Art wasn't sure what to think now. Shazam is dead....

Darius sat in his quarters with his wife, absorbing and recovering on what had just happened in the mission.  The conversation they were having had gone from pleasant into a wife with a foul mood.

"You mean you're going out there again?" she said.  Her voice was full of anger and confusion.

"We didn't finish our mission, of course we're going back out," he added in a calm voice.

"How about this Shazam.  You've told me about them, but I haven't met anybody from Nazgul yet, unless you want to count Taylsha and Alexia.  We work together by the way."

"You've already been exchanging gossip and stories with the other Nazgul wives.  That was fast."  Darius was trying to lighten the mood of the conversation.

Layren gave Darius a playful punch on the soldier.  They started to laugh, but became interrupted by a buzzer.

"Come in," Darius shouted, and the door slid open, revealing Jen.  She came in looking normal, but couldn't hold off anymore.  She began to cry, the mourning look on her face revealed the reason behind it.

"He's gone, isn't he?"

She nodded and was about to explain, but Darius interupted her.  "Uh, Jen, this is my wife, Layren.  Layren, this is Jen Knight, XO of Nazgul."  Bad time for introductions, but that was no excuse for poor manners.

They nodded in acknowledgement of each other, and then Jen gave some information.  "Briefing is in an hour.  Some of us our meeting before hand with Dimmias, to discuss what going to happen next, and where Nazgul stands.  Do you care to join us?"

"Nope.  I'll use this time in a more constructive way."  He went over to his weapons locker he had finally managed to acquire, even though he is in the Navy and it's not common for such an item to be in a pilot's possession.  Reaching back in a far corner, he pulled out a beautifully designed sword.  "If you need me, I'll be in a training room to mourn and use my anger in more of a," he paused for a moment, pondering his word choice, "constructive manner, in seclusion."

Jen nodded, understanding how Darius worked, and left to tell the others.  He quickly changed into light training clothers, and slung the sword over his shoulder.

"Do you mind if I watch?" Darius' beautiful wife asked, and he gave a welcoming gesture, motioning her first out the door.  He turned off the lights and was about out the door before he realized he had forgotten something.  He turned around and grabbed his duel DL-44 blasters and holster and strapped them to his thighs.  Then, he grabbed a small holdout blaster and strapped in behind his back.  He finished with tucking a vibroblade into his right boot, and strapped his set of hand-made throwing knives in his left boot, conceiling it from view.  Now he was ready to leave.

The fighters sent out by the SSD had quickly finished off the enemy fighters, with help from the remaining Nazgul pilots. Trevor was now taking his time to get into the hanger, and didn`t rush with his docking procedures. He climbed out and jumped to the ground, forgetting he had been stabbed in both of his legs. He hit the floor and crumbled upon landing, making a face from the pain, and trying to avoid swearing. He lay there for a moment before a tech looked down at him and asked if he was alright.

"Yeah..." Trevor replied, getting up slowly and dusting himself off. "I`m fine. You worry about my fighter, not me." He smiled at the tech, and gave him a quick pat on the shoulder before turning and heading towards the hanger exits. He saw Toki climbing out of her fighter and called her over.

"Hey, you owe me two...How about I cash thatin for some drinks?" Trevor said, a cocky grin on his face.

"Yeah, sure. But I want to go check up with the medics first." She replied, motioning to her wounds.

"Yeah, lets go."

**** After a stop by the medical bay ****

"How about that drink now?" Trevor said, rubbing the bandage on his one leg. Apperently the knife had just missed a major vien, and he was very lucky.

"Yeah, lets go." Toki replied, pointing off down the hall. She started off and Trevor caught up, walking next to her. They were walking right by a viewport as a huge flare of light lit up the hallway. Trevor covered his eyes and rushed to the window, stareing stuipidly at the large fireball that had appeared where the corvette had been.

"Wow....Guess I only slowed down the self destruct timer, not stopped it..." He said queitly, mostly to himself. A boarding ship that had been headed towards the corvette was now slowly turning itself around, and heading back to the Atrus.

"Serves them right..." Tokijin said udner her breath, and Trevor laughed when he heard it.

"Damn right..." He started walking again, and Tokijin was quickly back at his side. They came around a corner and almost ran into Jen. She looked as if she had been crying quite alot.

"Oh th-" She started, but Trevor cut her off.

"How is Art? Did Shazam make it?" He asked intently, not even thinking about his question until after he said it.

"Art is going to be fine, but Shazam..." She stopped, then burst into tears. "He didn`t make it....He was DOA in the hanger." She sobbed, tears running down her cheeks.

Both Toki and Trevor stood for a moment, not wanting to believe what they had just heard. Tokijin accepted it first though, and broke down into tears, just as Jen had, and quickly put her arms around Trevor, trying to wipe her tears off on his shoulder, but the tears didn`t stop.

Trevor didn`t move for a moment, seemingly unsure of what to do right then, as it was a slightly awkward situation, even though he couldn`t blame her. For a moment he felt like pushing her off and telling her to get ahold of herself, but thought against it. He just hugged her back and let her continue, as he gave Jen a look of sympathy. He didn`t want to open his mouth, out of fear that he might break down as well, so he just waited for her to say something else.

"We...We`re having a meeting with Dimmias to discuss what going to happen next, and where Nazgul stands.  You are free to come, but if you don`t want to, its perfectly understandable, considering the circumstances." Jen said, who had managed to stop her crying and regain her voice. Trevor nodded and looked down at Tokijin, who had stopped crying for a moment to listen to what Jen said.

"I`m not sure.." She said quietly. "If  show up, then I guess I`ll be there...I might not though." She then stepped away from Trevor, a slightly embarrised look on her face, and attempted to smile.

"Alright, We`re meeting in his quarters." Jen said, then started off down the hall, brushing past Tokijin and raising a hand to her eyes. Trevor couldn`t tell if she had started crying again, but it didn`t matter.

So Shazam is really gone...I didn`t think that it could happen. He let his thoughts settle for a minute before turning to Toki. "Are you going to go?"

"Yeah, I think so." She said, wiping her eyes with her sleeve. Trevor turned and started to follow Jen, even though she was a little farther up the corridor. He didn`t know where Dimmias` quarters were, so it was probably best for him to keep up with someone who did.

Tokijin sat in her fighter reviewing what had just happened to her. In so little time so much has gone wrong. She was just happy to be off that corvette. She sighed and carefully climbed out, surveying the hanger. She looked down at her badly bandaged arm and knew the first thing she was gonna do. She started walking when a voice called out to her.

"Hey, you owe me two...How about I cash that in for some drinks?" Trevor smiled cocky grin on his face. Tokijin chuckled but put a hand on her injured arm.

"Yeah, sure. But I want to go check up with the medics first."

"Yeah, lets go." Toki laughed wondering why that wouldn't he want to do that in the first place.

* * *

Toki rubbed her arm, happy it would heal fine. Her leg had been fixed up too. She just hoped everyone would be as fine as she ended up.

"How about that drink now?" Toki laughed at how eager he was and nodded. "Yeah, lets go." They began walking down the hallway and only was it when they reached a window that a sudden light appeared out the darkness. Toki squinted and ran toward the window, and stared out into the abyss as the corvette disappeared into flames.

"Wow....Guess I only slowed down the self destruct timer, not stopped it..." Trevor spoke to no one, but his words hit Toki like a rock. It was my fault...That could've been us if Trevor hadn't been able to slow it down. She sighed and pressed her forehead against the cool glass and mumbled. "Serves them right..."

"Damn right..." Trevor laughed and began walking again. Toki lifted her head off the glass and stared at the quickly dying inferno now, and went to catch up with Trevor before they almost slammed into Jen. Her eyes were red and she looked terribly tired.

"Oh, th-" Jen started to talk but Trevor burst full of questions.

"How is Art? Did Shazam make it?" Toki had been wondering the same thing.

"Art is going to be fine, but Shazam..." She stopped, then burst into tears. "He didn`t make it....He was DOA in the hanger." She sobbed, tears running down her cheeks. Toki was stunned. Could this really be happening? After all they've been through more troubles had to be added on?

The tears began falling and Tokijin's shoulders shook. Toki put her head on Trevor's shoulder. She would never get to fully befriend Shazam now. She felt everyone's loss and knew things would never be the same. She felt Trevor tense at her touch and then just relax. She gave him a hug and felt the tears slowing.

"We...We`re having a meeting with Dimmias to discuss what going to happen next, and where Nazgul stands. You are free to come, but if you don`t want to, its perfectly understandable, considering the circumstances." Jen said, regaining her voice and stood up straight. Toki stepped away from Trevor and tried to hide her embarrassment when she wiped her eyes with her hand.

"I'm not sure..." Toki was still pondering on whether she should go or not. She swallowed but her throat hurt from crying. "Alright, We`re meeting in his quarters." Jen said and turned to walk away, covering her eyes with her hand.

"Are you going to go?" Trevor asked her. She nodded.
"Yeah, I think so. " She turned and walked off in the different direction than Jen and Trevor went. She really need a drink and would just find someone who knew the way there.

A small had crowded in the training room where Darius was dueling combat training droids.  He had already put three in the garbage, and seven more had extensive damages.  At the moment, there was a break, and Darius was catching his breath as the suffering minor damages were being prepare.

DJ had been walking by when the noticed the whole ordeal.  He stopped, and stayed to watch the next fight.  He looked around, and noticed Japheth in a corner, trying to be unnoticed.  He was about to walk over and ask what he was doing here, but a buzzer errupted in an annoying clangor that announced that the droid were ready for another match.

There were five droids: one with green photoreceptors, three yellow, and one red.  Each were armed with a melee weapon, as was Darius.

By the way they fought, you could tell which colored one was more lethal.  In an obvious show, the green was the first to fall when the red one used it for bait, probing Darius.  It had his moves and other information stored in its short term memory back.  Darius had decapitated the green one when jabbed its force pike, missed its target, and lost its head.  Darius sheathed his blade.

One of the yellow droids took this distraction to its advantage, and tried to press its own luck in wounding Darius, since that's what yellow's bodily harm limit was.  It had for arms with with vibroknucklers on each metal fist.  It swung its top right, and the man dodge, grabbed the wrist, and kicked it in the upper left chest.  It was knocked off balance, and Darius had his sword out again before it could even comprehend his action.  In the next instant, its two right arms were flailing on the floor and his sword found its way into the droids CPU, located in the chest.  He ripped it out and the droid fell in a smoldering heap.

"Red," Darius said, and one of the droids changed from yellow to red.  He repeated himself, and all three remaining droids were now red.  Before he could, he saw in the corner of his eye, a spike ball of metal flying at his head.  He leaned forward, almost too late, and a spike grazed the back of his head.  Blood trickled down his back, but that did not slow him.

DJ became worried.  They had joined the Navy just a month or so apart, and had a "joking" relationship, always pranking each other, or making comments that were inappropriate most of the time.  He looked at Japheth, and the short, stern man met his gaze, and he knew Darius would be alright.  The way he stood almost appeared as if he could stop the young combatant death with the snap of a finger.

As the droid prepared its back swing, Darius put the sword up to block.  The two weapons collided, and his sword went flying behind him.

The crowd gasped at this turn in the fight, realizing that the pilot was putting his life on the line for something they couldn't possibly comprehend.

The droid under-estimated his paranoia, and paid for it with its very own being.  Darius pulled a Treppus vibroblade out of his right boot, and drove it through the chest, once again destroying the CPU.

The original red droid kept its distance, but the new one was eager to kill.  It begain advancing cautiously, and Darius pulled out the vibroblade and severed the wrist of the newly fallen one and threw the mace at the oncoming droid.  The armored chest was dented, but that was the extent of the damage.  Since the droid were programmed to act like living beings, Darius reached in his left boot and pulled three throwing knives.  In one throw, he placed on three in the chest, and the droid submitted to defeat.

The remaining droid was still wary, and keeping its distance.  Darius walked over to the last defeated droid, which was still standing.  The red droid prepared for a ranged attack, when suddenly, the red photoreceptor nolonger appeared to be lit.  DJ looked over, and saw Japheth talking to a technician.  Darius appeared neither surprised nor worried.

He pulled his throwing knives out, and began to turn his back to the droid, but suddenly whipped back around, throwing the vibroaxe the previous droid had been armed with.

While the newly proclaim lightless droid, who was not only programmed to kill, but improved skill and no limitation to its defeat, parried the axe with its duel swords, Darius ran for his fallen sword.  The other droid realized this, and charged at him, faster than Darius could escape.  The pilot dove for the sword, retrieved it, and rolled on his back.

The advancing droid held his swords back, ready to kill, and brought them both down together.  Darius turned his blade on its side, and held it forward in both hands.  The force of the blow threatened to break his arms, but he took advantage of the attack when the droid found it self not completely centered.  He had sacrificed its footings for a killing blow.  The young husband pulled his feet up as the droid fell forward and threw it over his head.

The combat droid landed with a thud on the matted floor and Darius leapt to his feet.  The droid tried to swing at him with its right sword from the ground, but he met it with more force than it could muster, knocking the sword to the floor.  He stepped on its wrist and with a quick slash, took off the other arm before it could parry.  Preparing for the killing blow, he spun the sword between his fingers, grabbed it with both hands, raised it high above his head, blade down, and thrust it into its CPU.

The crowd errupted into cheers, and Darius watched Japheth leave, saying nothing to anyone, but looked somewhat entertained at what he just saw.  He saw in his face that he was slightly impressed, even though he was trying to hide it to a degree.

Darius sheathed his sword and began leaving the training room.  His wife came rushing up to him, and he kissed her.  Holding her close, with his arm around her, they left.

People were passing credits around.  Darius was slightly disappointed to hear that most had bet on the droids.

They met DJ in the corridor.  He looked at his crono, and mentioned, "if we hurry, we can still make that meeting."  Darius nodded, still slightly out of breath, and they began to walk down the corridor.

Next, he introduced DJ to Layren.  So far, everybody had liked her.  He had pulled a big shocker when he told them that they were married.

Soon enough, they were to the room where they were to meet, and Darius realized that he was still bleeding from a couple wounds.  He pulled his comlink out and called TC down with a medkit.  They went in before TC got there, too anxious to hear what was going to happen to Nazgul without Shazam.
