Commando Team Dorn Seven may be joining us for a trek through the snow during this year's HSC, but they are not being used as cannon fodder... erm not that we ever do that with our NPCs (especially the regular army troops) >.>

Instead of being "true" NPCs, the members of Commando Team Dorn Seven are actually going to be played by ya'll in an RPG designed to integrate with the actual HSC storyline.

Even naval members are permitted to join this RPG, although they will not gain points for a squad's gaming score in the HSC (unless they are in an army squad as well).  For each game you participate in, you may earn up to x amount of points depending on how well you played rpg wise.




Anywho actual RPG stuff down here...

Well I lied, one more thing: If you are an dice rpg newbie, you are still welcomed to hop onto #VERPG on IRC and say hi.  Perhaps you need some help, or whatever, most of us are willing to lend a hand and have new active members playing.

Okay, now the RPG stuffs.  Instead of the Star Wars Saga (d20) or d6 rulesets, I am intending to use a tweaked d20 Modern system for the purposes of this RPG.  Mainly because I believe it is far easier to learn than the other two and we will probably have a large influx of people interested in playing but never have done a dice roleplaying game before.

Basically you will be level 10, and unless you are familiar with how d20 systems work, I strongly suggest you have your species as human (for star wars racial stats, use the Saga Edition).

Let's start going through that character generator step by step now, shall we?

OOC:
If you need assistance at any time while making this sheet, (in fact do it anyways) hop into #VERPG on IRC and we'll be glad to assist you.

  1. Ability Scores (Rules Link):  You will use the method of Elite Array (selected from the dropdown box that currently says "standard"), and assign those scores as you desire to your six ability scores.
  2. Race/Species, Gender, Levels: Keep it at human unless you are familiar with the d20 system and feel comfortable editing the sheet manually later to reflect the actual species you want.  Gender is self explainatory I hope and has no real game impact.  Level should be 10.
  3. Classes (Rules Link): Here you select the class you desire to be, and if you are familiar and comfortable enough with the rules, perhaps you can take an Advanced Class, or even multiclass with other basic classes.  You are limited only to those found on the System Reference Document link I provided, so many of the ones such as "Shadow Slayer" or "Arcane Arranger" on the character creater are off limits.
  4. Starting Occupation & Ability Score Increases(Rules Link): Your starting occupation is basically what your character was before being part of the Commando Team of Dorn Seven (or even before joining the military).  The Occupations from Academic to White Collar are allowed, as are the ones from d20 Future.  Also in this section you will have to increase two times, an ability score, or two different ability scores.  So choose those immediately after your occupation.
  5. Class Features: The class features are a bit tricky, but basically find your basic class and choose which of the ones you desire.  The rules for those should be found under the link where the classes are: Clicky!
  6. Skill Points (Rules Link): Skills are basically what your character is good at.  Assign these as you feel is best.
  7. Class Features (Rules Link): Feats are basically the next step up from skills.  They don't just influence how well you can do things, but also give you new things to do.  For example, you can't wear heavy armor without "Armor Proficiency (heavy)"  Only select feats if they are listed in the rulebook (meaning those above 'Urban Arcana Sourcebook' rather than below).
  8. Final Stuffs: Ignore weapons, armor, mutations, and whatnot for now (I will fix those for you), but feel free to do height, weight, eye color, etc.
  9. Ta-da: Hopefully you can press "Generate The Character Sheet" and get a nice sheet which you can copy past into a post after this one.
