Title sorta quotes RK "What do I call you? Ms. RJ?" this is a little late , I apologize for that. Been busy these past few weeks but here it is folks.

Lucky and Alan left the Storm barracks with a small procession of people following close behind them. They had just been wed by Rizzit and the couple had rented a room at a Center where the traditional festivities would be held.

Everyone looked dashing in their dresses and suits as they all walked the short distance to the hall. A wedding planner had taken care of all the preparations and they had both trusted her judgment on the decorations, so they didn't really know what to expect.

As Alan opened the door, they looked around in awe: here were many small tables covered with linen cloths, napkins were placed in wine glasses and there was a ruby colored candle at the center of each table. On the far wall was the head table where Alan, Lucky, Helena, RK and the other few bridesmaids and grooms would be seated.

There was a large space that was cleared of everything. She assumed that it would be the dance floor. Soft music played as they walked n and lined against the wall to be congratulated as was custom. Now all they had to do, was wait for their guests to arrive.

Nick sat down next to Drakar and Zeshaun. They exchanged jokes while waiting for the waitress to bring some drinks. The waitress was a female twi'lek who, unlike most waitresses seemed to know what she was doing. She placed a corellian ale infront of Nick, along with Drakar and Zeshauns ordered beverages.


To the corner of his eye, Nick saw a group of patrons playing a game of Pazaak. Nick enjoyed playing pazaak from a young age.
He got up from his seat, bringing his Ale along with him.


''If you'll excuse me, gentlemen. Im going to watch this Pazaak game.'' Nick left Zeshaun and Drakar to go see the game, not before having a small conversation with the waitress, who he asked to get another drink. Nick continued heading the table. A man was playing against Rodian, who was wearing posh clothing.

Alan was still on cloud nine when he lined up next to Lucky to await the arrival of the guests.  Since the first day he had met her back when they had been assigned to the Nightstalkers squad, he knew there was an attraction between them.  He had spent every second he could with her and their relationship had grown and blossomed.

He glanced over at her as she stood beside him and smiled happily at her, she smiled back.  It did not take long for the members of the Paladin squad to start filtering into the room.  The first to arrive was Zeshaun.

"Congratulations" said Zeshaun as he went up to Lucky and Alan and saluted them.

"Thanks Zesh." replied Alan as he saluted back and watched him move into the room and grab a seat.  Alan smiled as he noted that Zeshaun was looking slightly uncomfortable in his dress uniform. 

The last time Alan had had to wear such a bothersome outfit was at the Imperial Ball and that had turned out to be a very special night.  It had taken Lucky and Alan’s relationship to a whole new level.  Since then he enjoyed wearing it as it always brought back great memories.

Soon other members of the Paladin squad entered and Alan and Lucky shook hands with Nick and Drakar as they arrived.  Alan watched as they grabbed a table and got the attention of a Twi’lek waitress.  His mouth watered as he looked on in envy as the Twi’lek waitress brought over corellian ales to Nick and Drakar’s table.

Now you’re talking thought Alan to himself as he stood and waited for the rest of the guests to arrive before he could get a seat at the head table and more importantly, get his own corellian ale.

Zeshaun lifted his head when he saw Nick and a man exchange words out of the corner of his eye.

Zeshaun stood and made his way over towards the table when he saw Nick sit down and start playing. Zeshaun watched Nick swiftly defeat the rodian 3 times. Zeshaun was impressed.

Suddenly Zeshaun saw the other man reach for a weapon. Zeshaun quickly put his hand onto his blaster but relaxed when he saw Nick pin the man and walk away safely. Nick came back over to Zeshaun's table.

"Try not to start any fights, it is a reception for you squad leaders." Zeshaun said in a half mocking-half serious tone.

Nick rolled his eyes "They were amateurs I could have handled them without even having to draw my blaster."

Zeshaun chuckled and patted Nick on the shoulders. He orderd another ale from the twi'lek waitress and sighed. He saw Rizzit come back into the hall with a new suit on. Zeshaun got up to greet him.

"I'm truly sorry for ruining your suit." Zeshaun said as he walked up to Rizzit.

"Whoa! Don't get to close to me I don't have an endless amount of suits." Rizzit said pointing at Zeshaun's drink.

"I..uh.." Zeshaun stammered.

"I'm just fooling with you. It's really okay, enjoy the party live a little." Rizzit walked off toward Lucky and Alan.

Zeshaun walked toward the buffet once more, determined to get more food in his stomach this time. He got a full plate of food and he made his way back to his table.

As he neared he caught his leg on a chair that was pushed slightly out. Zeshaun tripped and fell right on top of his food, now his suit was all dirty.

Zeshaun lay there in his food for a while I wish I was dead right now, really I do.

He could hear his squad mates laughing from the nearby table.

lucky was on top of the world right now. She was smiling at everyone and greeted them at the door as they walked in. She saw her Troopers grouped at a table, already enjoying glasses of ale. She hoped everyone wouldn't end up too drunk by the end of the night.

When everyone was seated, she and Alan walked among the tables to the head table and she glimpsed her mother out of the corner of her eye. she excused herself for a minute and quickly walked over to her mother, kissing her on the cheeks.

"I never thought you'd come."

"Well of course I'd come! I would never miss my only daughter's wedding for the world."

Smiling, she introduced her mother to Alan. She congratulated them both a second time and looking up at Alan said "you're a very lucky man, you know. She's the best woman you could have, great all around."

The comment made her smile and to the request of clinking glasses, they kissed before continuing on to the head table. As they sat down, a waiter came over and poured them each a glass of champagne. he asked them if they wanted anything else and both ordered a glass of Corellian ale.

As dinner was being served, people started doing speeches they had prepared in their honor. She wondered which stories her mother would tell. That made her think of her dad, wonder if he went to rehab for his alcohol problem yet.

Shaking the bad memories away, she saw her mother step up to the microphone.

"I'd like to share something special about my daughter with you all today."

The room suddenly became so quiet, you could hear a pin drop. "When she was in her mid-teens, she saved me. She saved my sanity and my life. Her father was and still is an alcohol abuser, we were beaten on a regular basis and soon events spiraled out of control. one night I had been badly beaten and she found me in tears when she came home from work one day. She got rid of the bottle of rum her dad had been drinking and got some clothes from both our closets before ushering me out of the house and bringing me to her friend's house where she knew I would be safe, protecting me all the while until I was safely tucked inside out of harm's way. I've never seen or heard from her father again and have only spoken to her a few times through video conferencing. I propose a toast to her courage."

That little speech made her feel like she was put a little on the spot as everyone smiled at her and raised their glasses.

Sitting at the top table, Alan listened as Lucky’s Mother gave her speech.  He applauded her and took a sip from the champagne in honour of the toast.  He thought back to what Lucky’s Mother had said to him.  You're a very lucky man, you know. She's the best woman you could have, great all around.  He knew that those words could not be truer and he gazed over at Lucky and gave her a big smile.

He looked at the top table and part of his heart sank slightly.  Although it was a joyous occasion he wished that his parents had still been alive to see this day.  He was certain that they would have loved Lucky and welcomed her into the family.  He was glad to be a part of Lucky’s family.

Alan glanced up at the podium and inside he shivered.  He had once been a squad leader, now he was an assistant squad leader.  He had led troops into battle, faced death more than he could remember but the prospect of standing on the podium scared him far more than anything he could think of, except spiders.  He took a long drink from his corellian ale before getting up.

Alan moved to stand at the podium and everyone looked up at him attentively.  Alan gulped slightly before speaking.

“When I first joined the army all that I could think of was doing my job, killing as many enemies as I could.  Nothing else mattered to me.  Then along came Lucky and for once in my life a ray of sunshine entered my heart.  From the first moment I laid eyes on her I knew she was special.  I vowed to get to know her and over the years I got to know her very well.  I am the luckiest man around to be able to say that the beautiful Lucky is my wife.  I love her with all my heart and I can’t think of a day without her”.

Alan held up his glass of champagne, unaware that he had even taken it with him to the podium and said “to Lucky, the most beautiful and wonderful woman in the whole galaxy”.

The crowd chanted back “to Lucky” as they drank from their champagne.  Alan moved quickly back to the table and sat down.  Beads of perspiration were on his forehead as he breathed deeply.

“That was lovely” said Lucky as she kissed him softly.  Alan smiled and took a sip of his ale.  I am indeed a very lucky man he thought as he gazed lovingly at her.

As the speeches went on Drakar began to feel more and more out of place.  Not only was he new to this group, but he never cared much for wearing suits.  He was never really comfortable unless he was in workout clothes or his armor.  He was however glad to finally have found a home with a squad for once after having been apart of Jester only briefly before being replaced.

Once he saw Lucky raise her glass Drakar followed suit by raising his and then downing the last bit of Ale that remained in the fancy glass. 

He wasn’t necessarily jealous of the RJ’s, but the reception did make him feel even more alone in the universe than he already did, with all of his family being deceased.  Drakar noticed Zeshaun returning to the table from a huddled group in the corner.

“Bad luck, Zeshaun?” asked Drakar

“Of course.  I just lost a whole months pay on one game of Pazaak”, said Zeshaun bitterly.

“Man, that’s why I can’t play that game.  If I did, I would be in the slums in about 5 mins” said Drakar.

He laughed and took a sip of ale.  Drakar reached for his glass and called for the waiter and asked for another.

The band started playing and several people started dancing.  Then an announcer called out for Lucky and Alan to come onto the dance floor.  Alan knew he wasn’t much of a dancer but he had enjoyed dancing with Lucky back at the Imperial Ball and knew they never had time to dance since then so he looked forward to it.

Lucky stood up and held out her hand to Alan.  Standing up beside her, Alan grasped her hand and they both walked round the table and towards the dance floor.  People seated at the tables glanced up as they saw the newlyweds about to take their first dance as a married couple.

The people that had been dancing already moved back and let Lucky and Alan take centre stage on the dance floor.  Romantic music started to play as Alan wrapped his arms around Lucky and they started to sway in time with the music.

Lucky held Alan tightly then frowned slightly, gazing up at him she whispered “either you’re very happy right now or you’ve got your blaster pistol with you”.

Alan smiled and replied “I am the happiest man alive right now and yes, I am packing my pistol”.

“You know, I don’t we’re going to be overrun with baddies” said Lucky.

“I know but I always feel comfortable with it around me” replied Alan.

“I hope it comes off when we get to bed tonight” whispered Lucky softly.

Alan grinned back at her and replied “I’m sure I can cope with that”.

Lucky laughed and Alan held her tightly as they swayed and danced around the dance floor.  Those that were on the dance floor watched them and then started to resume their own dancing.  Alan didn’t even notice them as his gaze and his attention was focused on one thing and one thing only, his beautiful loving wife Lucky.

“Drakar, Zeshaun, I hope you both are enjoying yourselves”, said Alan.

“Oh, extremely”, Zeshaun raised his glass as sort of a toast before taking a large gulp.

“So, anything on the agenda for the evening before you go home?” asked Lucky.

“Um, not that I can think of” said Drakar.  “I may just go do a workout to kill some time and stress.”

"I might go to the shooting range or the vehicle hangar to tune up my vehicles and stuff but other than that no." Zeshaun looked up at Lucky expectantly, "but if you have a mission you want me to run by myself then please don't hold yourself back."

Lucky laughed. "Not tonight Zeshaun."

Zeshaun raised his glass again and laughed as well. Although the night started off horribly it was turning into quite a party and Zeshaun was starting to enjoy himself.

""Drakar, do you want to go around and see if we can pick up any ladies?" Zeshaun asked cocking his eyebrow.

Lucky had very much enjoyed the dance, they hadn't danced like that in a while. Smiling at her dear, sweet Husband, they finished dancing to the song before moving off to the table where Zeshaun and Drakar were sitting.

She had seen them drinking glasses of ale, and now she was surprised to see two pitchers at their table. Have they been drinking the night away?

She kept a watchful eye on them as they got up and moved off to go see two blonds, they looked to be twins. surveying the room, she saw Stormz sitting alone at a table, she pointed him out to Alan and the two of them moved as one toward him.

"Enjoying yourself?" Alan asked him, stopping in front of him.

"I guess."

"Why I guess?"

"I don't know, just feeling a little lonely at the moment."

"I'll have to throw the bouquet soon, but afterward if you'd like you could hang around with us."

"Thanks!"

"No problem."

Zeshaun and Drakar moved over to the twins and invited them to dance. They both agreed and they went out to the dance floor.

“What’s your name beautiful?” asked Drakar.

“Anna, and you?” she asked.

“My name is Drakar, it’s a pleasure to meet you.  How do you know the lovely couple?”, he asked.

“Oh Lucky used to be my mentor way back in the day.  She’s the reason I enlisted in the Corp” said Anna.

The two danced on and on talking about random subjects until she noticed that Lucky was almost ready to throw the bouquet. 

She was about to leave when Drakar said, “What do you say we get out here when this is over and go back to my place to hang out?”

She thought for a moment and then replied, “Sure,”

Her response made him smile.  He saw Zeshaun and Stormz over at the table drinking and decided to walk back and join them for a little while waiting for his date to return.

“Hey Zeshaun, how’d your luck go?  You get her?” asked Drakar

Zeshaun and Drakar returned to the table and Alan ordered up a round of drinks as he listened to how they had gotten.

"Right, have to go and throw this bouquet" said Lucky as she stood up, clutching her bouquet.

"Have fun" replied Alan, watching her leave.

Drakar told the group at the table about how Anna had agreed to come over after the reception and Alan said, "you might be lucky Drakar, you never know, Anna might be lucky in catching the bouquet and I might be at your wedding next".

This comment made him a little uncomfortable especially knowing that Anna was right in the middle of the crowd gathered behind Lucky.  He gulped noticeably loud causing Alan and Zeshaun to sort of chuckle.

Drakar watched intently as Lucky turned around and counted “1…,2…,3!” and tossed the bouquet behind her into the crowd, in which one girl caught and then three joined in quickly having a tug of war contest before someone got it.

Once it was over Anna came out of the crowd holding nothing else, but of course, “The bouquet, oh sithsp…” , mumbled Drakar with a slight grin on his face as he shook his head.

After the bouquet tossing, Drakar could see that Alan had a smirk on his face because Anna had caught the flowers. 

"So, who's going to be your best man?" asked Zeshaun.

The two bickered back and forth about who it was going to be at the imaginary future wedding until Drakar cut in saying, "It'll be neither of you".

Alan and Zeshaun laughed until Anna returned the table and asked, "What's so funny?"

"Nothing" said Drakar, glaring at both Zeshaun and Alan, with a look that said, don't you dare say a word.

Anna pulled Drakar away very quickly only to return to the dance floor.  They danced and laughed for another half hour.  As they came off they said their goodbye’s to the couple before they headed to Drakar’s for a night of fun.

Alan watched Anna and Drakar get up and leave and he thought to himself they sure do make a nice couple, I hope they have a wonderful night together.  His attention was drawn to a waitress who moved casually up to their table.  She was a red skinned Twi'lek and she seemed to be particularly interested in Nick.

''So, why aren't you dancing?'' she asked him.

Alan glanced over at Lucky and thought to himself now that's a very good question.  He glanced over at Lucky and smiled thinking to himself I think it's time we were dancing.  Lucky smiled back as if knowing what he was thinking as she held out her hand.

He took Lucky's hand and guided her onto the dance floor.  The disc jockey noticed the couple moving onto the floor and changed the music to a more slow and romantic one.  There they danced to the slow music, Alan's hand wrapped tightly around her waist.  He glanced back at the table and noticed Nick in deep conversation with the waitress.  She seemed to be enjoying his company.

Alan wasn't sure where Zeshaun had gotten to but he was starting to think that all of the members of Paladin were striking it lucky tonight.  First Drakar goes off with Anna, Zeshaun is here somewhere with Marie and now Nick with the waitress. 

Alan hoped they were all having a great time as he glanced down at his loving wife Lucky and kissed her softly knowing that he was having the best time of his life.

As Zippy stepped away from dancing he noticed Alan and Luckystar. They looked very happy together. He wished he had found somebody when he was traveling around on many different planets.

As the music continued to play it was very crowded. So many guests he couldn't even count."I hope that there will be some more exciting events later on as well" said Zippy as he started to dance agian.
